today we're in Singapore in this video we're going to show you the best things to see and do for a 48-hour stopover we are Kylie Casper and Ella and Aussie Danish family who loves traveling the world and exploring new countries if you would like to follow us on our journey make sure to subscribe to our Channel and follow us on Instagram so you don't miss out on any of our adventures the first stop of the day is the famous Merlion which is located right next to our hotel the Merlin is the symbol of Singapore it has a fish-like tail and a lion's head and that stems from the fact that Singapore used to be a fishing Village and the name Singapore actually means land City [Music] one of the things I really like about Singapore is that it's such a green City there's just trees flowers everywhere so it makes it really really pretty to walk around one thing I noticed that the Bougainvillea so I'm just going to do a quick shout out to my dad who used to hate the Bougainvillea climbing and crawling over all the house back home Australia so quick shout out to Dad chop chop chop so we were just talking about the movie Crazy Rich Asians well cast well Castle wants to go up to the Marina Bay Sands to have a drink and appropriately dressed we're in joggers and we just have shorts and a t-shirt on we're like full of sweat and so forth I don't think it's appropriate to go up there you know because I just think about crazy Rich Asians and we're so not you'll be the Western version except for read so I guess that'll make us crazy a little bit crazy definitely white it's white kind of pasty like crazy pasty White westerners I think he'll do it doesn't really sound like the name of a movie doesn't it no [Music] another great thing about Singapore is that there's always a place to escape the heat you can go into one of their many shopping malls so we're just about to head into the shops at Marina Sands at the moment basically to cool down it's so beautiful and cool in here oh instant relief as soon as you walk in so many exclusive shops here um anyway we're gonna head up to the Sands Sky Deck so we're going to have a little bit of a look up there hopefully get a cold drink [Music] so we're just about to buy tickets to go up to the marina Sands observation deck it's 26 dollars per person for adults and 22 dollars for children under 12 and for students okay so we're up on the observation deck uh yes really nice but I have a bit of fomo because I can see I don't know if you can see behind me um I'm gonna be over there so maybe when we come and stay next time in Singapore we'll stay at the hotel because I want to be over there where the pool is and where the bar is um yes it's a really nice view from the deck but yeah I kind of want to be over there with the crazy Rich Asians foreign [Music] deck actually was the 26 dollar price tag well it's a bit of money but I must say this view is pretty amazing so I think it's worth it I would definitely pay that amount of money to come up and experience this view up here but I still want to be over there Casper turn around come over here we go but I still want to be over there we visited the art Science Museum which is part of the Marina Bay Sands complex we went to the Future World exhibit which had many interactive installations which included light streams on the walls and Floors that reacted to your touch [Music] there was also a place where you could scan your own drawings that would then appear digitally on a huge screen our favorite was the crystal Universe which had a hundred and seventy eight thousand colored LED lights creating an outer space type light show [Music] foreign [Music] Gardens by the bay at the moment it's absolutely beautiful here just walking around seeing all the gardens and I think we've just spotted a lizard so I'm just gonna go and have a look at that all right so that was pretty cool seeing that lizard it was huge okay so we are now heading to these different domes that have these exhibitions inside of them so there's one called The Flower Dome there's the cloud Forest forests and the Floral Fantasy so we're going to go and check this out now I just looked this up because I couldn't remember the names and obviously I still couldn't quite remember them but I was looking it up and we don't actually have any International roaming while we're here or any data um but the gardens by the bay and the marina Sands shopping center they all have Wi-Fi there's public Wi-Fi everywhere which is fantastic if you want to look up things like that all right so let's go and have a look um I can't wait I'm really excited to go and see it [Music] so we're inside the flower Dome at the moment it's a really lovely it's kind of like a massive Greenhouse with lots of different flowers and plants growing they have a kind of different sections with the different flowers from different parts of the world growing and it's actually quite cool and air conditioned in here so it's a nice break from the outdoor humidity and Heat [Music] thank you [Music] so we're having a massive shower outside so coming into the flower Dome or the cloud forest Dome it's actually pretty good hiding spot so you don't get too wet while it's raining they have different countries all set up you can see behind me you can see the Netherlands it's even got some traditional food there on the display but it's really well put together actually [Music] foreign Forest it's absolutely beautiful in here as soon as you walk through the doors you're just mesmerized by this gorgeous waterfall behind me it's actually pretty cold in here and I can feel the spray from the waterfall hitting me um all right I'm looking forward to showing you around in here [Music] I'm really enjoying the cloud forest I think it's my preferred exhibition I don't know there's something really kind of magical and mystical about this exhibition there was obviously the waterfall and there's lots of nice plants and water features to look at foreign [Music] so I'm just walking around in the cloud forest trying to think of what this place reminds me of but if I spit around here if you check out this part behind me it really reminds me a lot of Avatar so the party in the movie where they're flying through those big pieces of rock and they're up in the clouds I love the way that they've got the mist and everything behind it makes it look so sort of mysterious and magical and you really do feel like you're kind of up in the clouds up here so we're still in the cloud forest it feels like this exhibition just goes forever so I'd say we've been here for approximately how long would you say Casper yeah probably a good hour and a half we've been wandering around in here um yeah so make sure that you allow enough time to really see it properly so we are now been to both the flower Dome and the cloud forest so if you only have a short amount of time we would definitely suggest doing the Cloud Forest it's by far the best exhibition [Music] so we just got off the top of the ocbc Skywalk where you can see all the super trees at the gardens by the bay it's a really really large view here in the background you can see the tallest of the super trees which you can also buy tickets to get up to but we're just going to be doing the Skywalk here it's 22 meters above the garden which is actually the height of the canopy of a rainforest from the Skywalk there's also a really lovely view of the Singapore Skyline and you can see the marina Sands you can also if you pan a bit around you can see this Singapore Flyer definitely worth it for the beautiful views and the Beautiful photos you can take up here so it's pretty crazy this bridge is suspended by well these metal cables I can't believe how sturdy it is like it shakes just a little bit as you're walking like a little slight vibration but overall it's pretty solid so it's very impressive that they can get it to be so stable so I can definitely conclude that the Skywalk seems to be the busiest compared to the main super tree um so I think that that probably means that it's the best attraction definitely worth the ticket so we're just walking along the Esplanade at the moment the sun has just said in some amazing colors and some beautiful views so you can see the Marina Bay Sands here in the background and if I spin around you can see all the skyscrapers definitely worth a walk and he looks especially magical here at sunset [Music] thank you okay after a long and hot day walking around the city we've done almost 30 000 steps we're absolutely exhausted we've collapsed here at Chimes Casper's still on a roll though he's busy Panic so that he can show you how beautiful Chimes is but we're absolutely exhausted now we just need to work out where we're going to eat tonight so that we can refuel so that we can actually make it back to our hotel and just to let you know that we love walking around the city but you can actually catch public transport there's taxis everywhere there's also a really great Metro system as well so you don't actually have to walk like we do we just really enjoy walking when we go on holidays so after a long day walking around Singapore city we are now made it to Chimes which is a lovely little courtyard square in the inner city it has a lot of restaurants cafes people around lots of light so it has an all really nice atmosphere if I pan around here you can also see a church in the background where all the different restaurants and cafes all surrounding that church so all just a really nice place to come and unwind chill and have a nice dinner so we have been staying at the Fullerton Hotel while we've been in Singapore and we're really enjoyed the hotel it's a great location for exploring the city it's only a few hundred meters down to the Merlin and in the opposite direction it's only a few hundred meters down to bokki it's also a really good location if you want to catch the MRT Metro System here in Singapore it's 200 meters or so down to the Raffles PlayStation so we can highly recommend this hotel [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] if you'd love to shop you can come to Orchard Road it is full of malls and shops us girls love it however my dad definitely doesn't love it yes it's definitely testing my patience but yeah I guess I'll have to put up with a bit of girls time every now and then so we have just ditched Casper and I might have done a quick sneaky slip of the credit card so Ella and I are off now to do a spot of shopping along Orchard Road so excited to see what we can find and spend money on you're certainly not spoiled for Choice here in Singapore when it comes to shopping that's for sure so make sure that you spare a bit of time for that in your itinerary um another great place to go shopping that I would recommend if you have the time is down at Vivo City so you take the MRT all the way down to the harbor front but it's a really great shop they've got high-end stores but also stores just for anybody it's a really great place to go shopping and they've also got a lot of really great restaurants as well the MRT Metro here in Singapore is a really quick and efficient way to get around and you never have to wait more than five minutes for the next train to turn up we have got these tourist passes so we can basically use them to get on and off any type of public transport here for the next two days and we paid 16 for that we also had to pay a 10 deposit for these cards but you'll get that refunded at the end once you hand them back in so we are just about to go on the Singapore Flyer which is our very last Ferris wheel here in Singapore so there should be some amazing views from up there so it's three dollars per person to get up so let's see if this is actually worth it uh by the look of it it's going really really slow so I would expect it will be up there for a little while so in the background you can see the height of a few different Ferris wheels around the world so the Singapore Flyer is actually 30 meters taller than the London Eye and it's the tallest ferris wheel here in Asia it's only three meters shorter than the world's tallest ferris wheel which is located in Las Vegas [Music] definitely the slowest Ferris wheel we've ever been on but probably the most spectacular I would say you certainly have plenty of time to take in these amazing views we had a really nice trip up there it was actually a pretty long ride we're up there for just over 30 minutes so even though it was 33 dollars per person we felt like we got a lot of value for this trip you had plenty of time to sit and look at the beautiful views over Singapore and just really take it all in so I would say definitely worth it if you only have one day in Singapore or two days in Singapore and you have to make the choice our opinion would be to go for this one rather than the Marina Bay Sands observation deck I feel that you get more value for money what do you think guys yeah I agree yeah it was a really good ride well worth it during the colonial era Plateau used to be a storage facility with warehouses so cargo was actually shipped and transported in by the Singapore River to Bulky and from there further of the stories still work hard key but that's a long time ago so this area has now been completely transformed into an entertainment area that's full of restaurants cafes live music and nightclubs so it has so survive so it's a great place to come for dinner or just for drinks from Clarke you can catch a boat that takes you on a small cruise through the Clark key area in the Boat Key area it's a very nice way to see both of these areas from the Singapore River and it's particularly nice at night time when all the lights are on bokki has a lot of Indian and Chinese restaurants and you'll also find a lot of seafood restaurants selling fresh seafood so bokeh used to be the busiest Harbor here in Singapore handling about three fours of all shipping business in the mid 19th century today it has been completely converted into a lovely area to come for dinner or for drinks and just to hang out although it is a little bit off Market it really has a nice Vibe and a nice atmosphere with some beautiful views from all the restaurants overlooking the Singapore River so I definitely recommend you come down here just for the experience and for the good news Casper is talking about heading over to Raffles shortly so yeah I'm going to be turning up like a big bucket of sweat to Raffles so they better get that Singapore Sling ready for me the historic Long Bar at the iconic Raffles hotel is the birthplace of the Singapore Sling which are Raffles bartender first created in 1915. the Long Bar is known for serving peanuts and encouraging littering of peanut shells so you will find peanut shells all over the floor the colonial style of the bar creates a great Ambience we really enjoyed our experience there [Applause] it's nice very refreshing a perfect way to end an amazing trip in Singapore see you next time on living the show live [Music] we're at the Dual shopping center at Changi Airport which is connected to all three terminals it's really a sight to see the waterfall behind me which is known as the rain Vortex it's actually 40 meters high and covers over seven stories if you check out those little inlets if you go through those it actually leads into the shopping mall and there's stores and shops all the way around each of the levels on level five you'll find a kids play area and also loads of restaurants and cafes and bars it's really a spectacular view I've never seen anything like it in my life I would say world's best airport in my opinion [Music] foreign [Music]
