hello fellow Travelers welcome back to my channel I have something incredibly exciting to tell you if you ever dreamt of experiencing Paradise that is the males or you think it's off your budget think again today I'm here to show you how to experience the breathtaking beauty of the Maldives without breaking the bank that's right we're experiencing Maldives on a budget so follow me on this adventure let's Dive Right [Music] In [Applause] [Music] we arrived in valana international airport on our first day and we noticed that maldiv gives out free tourist SIM cards but the SIM cards are not cheap when you top up the minimum is 40 USD and the highest is 50 USD so we decided not to get a SIM card we took the airport ferry to M and walked our way to our hotel thank God we found it without internet the hotel that we got for the night was lovely which we found on bookings.com the hotel was called Hotel Flora Mal after we put our bags in the hotel we went out for dinner and we had our first taste of Malian cuisine which was gulha and some other food which I couldn't remember the name it's very nice this one all right first things first when you arrive into malds you will land into vanana International Airport I arrived there last night with my mother that's that's Pana international airport so there are three options you can come here by taxi which is the expensive option or you can do the budget friendly style which is taking a public Ferry or take the bus so a public Ferry or the airport Ferry will cost you 15 rupia per head which is a dollar equivalent the US dollar or you can take the bus which is 10 rupia so it's almost like one coins change in paying in usds the locals here accept two types of currencies which is their local currency obviously the maldivian Ria and of course they also prefer the US dollar so you can use your US dollar or you can use your maldivian Ria both are accepted cards are not really much used in all the local shops so you will still need to have some cash with you but if you're eating like restaurants and you know hotels all cards is not an issue so you can use your credit cards and whatsoever the first day I arrived in the night didn't really see much of Mal Dives today I'm getting my first bread taking view of this beautiful paradise and this is also the capital city of uh of Maldives which is Mal and I'm really amazed at the water it's so Crystal Clear look at that you can see the fish all swimming and early in the morning I see locals fishing and today is a Friday just to let you guys know today is a Friday we arrived here so it's very quiet and one thing to take note is when you come to maldiv which is a Muslim predominantly country you will notice that on Fridays a lot of shops are closed it's because Fridays is their is their bra day so this is like their weekend so when you come to a predominantly Muslim country Fridays and Saturdays is like their Saturdays and Sundays for countries to practice the weekends and [Music] satday so when you arrive here in the capital city of the Maldives which is Mal things to do is obviously experience the capital on foot so that's what I'm doing right now with my mom and I came across one of the main attractions here of Maldives is the Moss so this is the Moss that is made out of corals guys that's right and it's almost 500 or 600 years old according to my research on Google and be had beside it is a minate and this is 500 plus years old 600 plus give take so the Moss the minat and of course the presidential Palace just opposite the Moss so everything is just close proximity so you don't really need to travel far to go and reach all the main attractions here in Mal so let's go and see what there is in the presidential site one thing I can see that that the gate and the house is so close it feels like you can almost visit the president I stand down here the president's house is just behind me there we go so who knows he's probably home probably sleeping because it's a Friday and also right in front of the Moss you will see a cemetery it also looks picturess I would say although it's quite gloomy in other sense because imagine walking at the night and you don't even realize that this is a cemetery so what to expect when you're walking on food here in Mali Maldives is that everything is very close proximity so the main attractions the landmarks all the the food and stalls all the shops it's so close that you don't really need to take public transport you can do the whole entire Mali Island and just by food so it's 4 km a stretch uh to be exact according to google 4.1 from one end to the other and I've already seen almost half of the place so I started my adventure with my mom at 5:00 in the morning we woke up from the hotel we left and we had our breakfast we we had in the Sri Lankan restaurant so it was like 158 rupia for the three of us that's right the three of us so you'll be probably wondering who is this third person cuz since I came with my mom actually I had a friend from around this region so it was like a last minute booking for him he came in surprised me here in maldiv so I'll let you know who is this person later on in the video [Music] exploring Malle for a few hours already since 5:00 in the morning and now it's 10: in the morning to be exact it's 10:15 most of the shops are closed on the Fridays as you can see everything is closed close so let's just go gra grab our belongings from the hotel check out before we get charge an extra fee for late check out right I'm going to bounce let's go good morning how Okay uh just give us few minutes they will check the sure and sir I request you you to give us a feedback on online ah sure sure on bookings right yes okay no worries I'll do that thank you all right so I've got all my belongings now and I'm here at the jti where the speed whe fetches so if you're wondering how to get to Mal fushi the cheaper alternative which is budget friendly there's two ways you can get there is the speedboat and the local Ferry the cheapest option I would say and I would highly recommend is the local Ferry it's only going to cost you $2 but it also operates in a certain hour 7:30 in the morning and if I'm not mistaken from what I've found on the internet 12:30 in the afternoon but there's a disclaimer it does not operate on Fridays okay so speed Bo will cost you about $25 and the local fair will cost you about $2 but bear in mind guys if you're paying $2 you're going to take almost one and a half hour hour to get to maushi which is about 26 km uh from from Mal or if you do the speedboat it's just going to take you 30 minutes so you're paying for time guys 25 USD or $2 you decide it's up to your budget but end of the day I would say these are the two budget friendly options to do to get to fushi from my okay I'm not really sure if this is where the fer is coming but I'm going to go and make sure I'm going to try and ask some locals down here to double confirm if this is where the the IC tours will come and fetch us to go to Ma fushi so let me go check it out let me ask this uh stranger down here uh hello sir sir uh hey hey what are you doing here you doing here actually guys just kidding we already like I said we this is my the person who was the third person in the breakfast earlier I booked the ticket accidentally I didn't intend to come but I had no choice to cancel so I had to force myself to come the world is not a big place guys it's such a small world you know you just need to intend to travel to go out there and see and you will make it exactly [Music] [Music] get all right touchdown maushi so this is our main highlight of Mal Dives so we're looking forward to it so let's go and check in our bags and then we will show you what there is to do here in this local Island all right just checked in so now we're going to our hotel apparently it's in the other side so you have to check in from this main building and then he will walk us to our hotel all right guys I'll show you a room tour of the room I got for myself so this is what to expect when you come to Ma fushi and Carney Beach Resort get yourself a bed okay got TV place to put your laptop there's a toilet a fridge okay there's a phone all right uh quite decent let's check out the pilet okay there's no toothbrush or toothpaste but we do have a soap give has a soap and what else toil okay awesome most important thing the day very hard to find this in Europe and towels shower nice body wash shampoo all right not bad everything was good got hair dryer sply it so I got myself the store my mom it's $50 so if you're looking for a budget friendly tour here in MAA fushi for the day I suggest this and you know what the best part it SS the 50 but I got it for 45 guys so they're having like a discount so why not just grab it so it's like 90 for me my mom USD that's the only bummer they chargeing dollars ouch we got our package for tomorrow swimming with the ner sharks and now we've decided to take a swim here in bikini beach it's quite close to our hotel somewhere around there and it's in front Arena Hotel what can I say about the waters here well it's not the the clear waters or the pristine clear waters of the Mal Dives I would say because this is Mal fushi so we getting quite murky water down here um I wouldn't say it's that bad it's still bearable it still gives you that experience out of the malds later on we will start exploring this island since it's only 1 km long in stretch let's going to see what there is to see here in maushi my mom is really having a good time here in the beach she's been in the water for quite some time so I had to call her out now because need to follow our itenerary next off we're going to go and walk around the local sides where most of the locals are hanging we've already done the bikini beach so now we're going to the area where there's no bikinis allowed so this is where it's very strict so pay attention to all the signs you will come across something like this so not many people are swimming here looks like I can have this whole entire Beach for myself myself man I'm right now in the waters alone and I'm really enjoying it now and yeah the water is almost the same like the beini beach side it's almost the same still murky a bit it's not the crystal clear waters but the best thing about it is that it's not many people here not many tourists so if you want to uh really stay away from all that flock of tourists you can come to the no bikini site just where something decent go in the water with some clothes and you'll have the whole Beach to yourself so what to see in the the other side of the island so we've walked like 500 M away from the bikini beach and we came across a park looks like a fitness Park you can see a lot of Fitness equipments down here first thing I noticed about this Fitness park side of the beach the no bikini beach a lot of the equipments are not well maintained so a lot of it spoiled just be careful when using it because some of it is rotten so we're going to go and see the other end so we're coming from our hotel in Kanani and we're going straight to the back down there oh look what look at this it's a lot of parrots hello hello hello hello hello let's take a selfie guys hey hello right that was something interesting come across with all the parrots mom they are dancing with me friendly especially when the head was going like that all right so what can I say about ma fushi after walking right to the end so coming from our hotel K Beach hotel that area was more like the touristic spot where all the tourists are gathered so they put all like tourist in one side so you got that bikini beach and no bikini beach and as you walk right to the end down here uh I find like I see more locals down here I hardly see any foreigners and other than that I noticed that there's also prisoners who's living in this island as well so you can see this wall is actually a prison so behind this walls prison are there you get your locals here and you get the tourist all on the other side so maushi comprises of locals tourists and prisoners all sharing the same island I thought this was the end of the island looking at in the back that's the prison but there's actually an extension of the island it's going towards a construction site I think let me go double confirm if this is a construction site uh what are the building down here let's go to find [Applause] out we're reaching the other end of the prison side the extension of this island is basically a construction site so they're developing something around the Sun is uh setting right now it's beautiful from this end of the island we really got a beautiful shot of the sun sunset me and my mom come Mom go to the other side well I think this is the end of the island this is actually an open area it's a Barren area of the island so it's not developed yet so right at that end is the tractor and after that just the Horizon and you can see other appol down there from appol appol that looks like a resort down there well I think that's about it let me head back to the other side now let's go back to where we came from could find a single shop that sells alcohol guys that's right so when you come to Maldives since it's a predominantly Muslim country you will never find alcohol on land but thank God we are in maushi and I was told according to my research that there is alcohol but it's on see so we will go and grab a few drinks later after we've changed our clothes and we're all changed so let's din in now we're having a local dinner tuna Curry or Malian fish tuna Curry you can see that quite hungry right now guys and I'm very tired I'll put this first back and I'll show you later where to grab alcohol here in maushi after our dinner I'm really craving for a drink right now okay the main highlight for tonight of obviously after a long day you need some alcohol so we're making our way to the boat the first thing we need to do first is to find that boat that takes you to that ship down there out on the sea grab some beers and then we'll call it a night come on let's go let's have our own party up the boat so we managed to get ourselves to the party boat boat so we had to take a small boat from the jety so it's free it will take you here you just need to buy a drink so that it will send you back for free if not we will charge you a small fee of $5 to get back to the island and we are having right now some Budweiser and what I can say about the Budweiser guys is that they charge just $10 for a can that's quite steep I would say it's so expensive but probably because there's to many tourists right now on the boat and everybody's just dancing and having a good time that's probably why they jacked up the because of the limited availability of alcohol and they only had B wiser because my friend wanted Stout earlier but they don't have it so it's probably one of the reasons why they jacked up the price at the end of the day because we are here once in a while so we might as well just get one can one of the most expensive beer I would ever have here in malds so let me savor every drip and there you have it folks if you're looking for alcohol just find your way to the boat and you'll have a good time all right day three with ar and we're doing the Excursion the Moment of Truth one of the highlights here in MA fushi the main reason why we came yes that's the reason why we came here to go and swim with the [Music] [Music] sharks [Music] going together welcome to G all [Music] right all right second location from the to package so this is goui Island what to expect down here well it's a small island with a population of 980 plus people according to our tour guide and what to see down here is just uh seesaw with the word I love G he so that's the main attraction that that stands out down here you can see and there you have it gly Island all right destination number three we're doing the shock point now oh going for the Shar oh my God apparently it's a bit uh dangerous not what I expected we just need to follow instructions because apparently they do bite it's just not because they want to bite you it's just they're confused which is food and which is not food although they did mention that it's a gentle creature so not to worry just follow the instructions keep your hand close to your body and nothing will happen so just use your feet when you're swimming around the Sharks now I'm looking at the point you see them all swimming by the boat so they attracted by the food so the the driver threw the food from the back the boat and then advise us all to stay in the front and then they will call us one by one to get our shots with the GoPro so it's all inclusive in the package when you when you take up this uh Excursion so that's a very good point I would say okay okay 1 2 3 go keep your hand like to your body okay give your hands to your body [Music] and our last location sandbank so this is where we'll have our late lunch and it's very beautiful guys the water here is really turquoise blue and we're in the middle of the sea but you can still see other Islands or other atel all on the sides all right they provided us with some umbrellas not bad and me and my mom are going to have lunch they gave us a container or Tupperware let's see what we have for lunch today so today's lunch is oh okay fried rice I'm really famished right now let's dig it lunch time in Mal yeah in middle of the sea yummy so mommy how do you find the MDES okay this is a place for like me are retired so this is the place to relax yay very nice the sandbank is our final part of the trip so it's been amazing so this is a nice place to go and cool down eat your lunch and of course absorb Mals so anyways let's go right to the end and I'll fly my drone here to give you sky view of this [Music] place all right so I've got my belongings we going to go have breakfast and we're going to catch the local Ferry that's headed back to Mal so it's last day here in the Mal Dives so malushi has been amazing so now it's time to get back to the capital because our flight is at 9:00 p.m. later on so we have a lot more time so let's go and explore the last bits of Mals before we call it an end of our [Music] trip all right we caught the ferry so this is a $2 golden Ferry that's headed straight to Mal so the journey will take about 1 and 1 half hour to get there there so there's also another option which is the public fair so both are quite similar it's just to be paying $2 for the government Ferry and $5 for the public Ferry the difference is it's just the color it's blue for the government ferry so do keep in mind for [Music] that okay bye take care buddy bye okay take care bye take care all right peace out so you're probably wondering is it possible to survive here in Maldives without a SIM card or mobile internet well it is all you got to do is just connect the internet to your hotel Wi-Fi or whichever restaurant that you're eating get the location that you need to go to save it and then done that's it so we didn't have a SIM card for almost what 4 days right Mom yeah 4 days and we we didn't even get lost because it's a small island it's like what 4 km how bad can it go especially maushi that was like 1 km stretch the island it's impossible you're going to get lost so you just need to remember where you're walking and of course keep track of uh certain landmarks and you will never get lost it's a small island and then you don't really need a SIM card unless you are that person who's scared to travel without a SIM card then pay $50 or $40 anyway it's up to you it's your budget but end of the day this is Affordable Travel you want to cut course SIM card I wouldn't really advise you can use the internet's Wi-Fi from the hotel more than all right so me and my mom found the bus so this is the bus this is taking taking us to hul we're not really sure where we're going to go around there we're just going to go and see what there is to see in this man-made Paradise of [Music] Maldives so what did we see throughout the bus ride of this uh from Mal to Hulu Mal we had to go through first the bana international airport so it was quite a cynic ride we took the bus get to see the beach on the on the on the side my mom really enjoyed the view she was uh like daydreaming I think when I saw her in the window and after we passed through the V International Airport I saw I noticed that there's a lot of this solar panels so I I believe their energy all comes from solar since they quite close to they're basically in the Equator so get D direct sunlight and once we reach into full home the manmade Island which is also known as the emergency Island for the locals in case of highrise levels of water they haven't need to evacuate people they come to this island uh first thing I saw was the apartments and flats and all so people down here this is more like uh the residential areas so I hardly saw any tourist now it's mostly locals and I can see also quite a lot of expensive cars down here look at that look like a Mercedes-Benz Mom this is quite quite a good way to travel the country plus it's comfortable yeah oh this is a bus stop I think we should get down here already come let's get out let's go and explore now on foot hul M touchdown okay let's see what there is to see in this Island we are exploring now wholeale on foot so we're going to try and uh see whatever that we can see down here just by walking and my first impression is that this place is more like a residential area right Mom yeah so throughout the bus throughout the journey we only saw our apartments and flats so and a lot of expensive cars so probably this is like the rich area and plus this is also a man-made Island so I'm really finding this place fascinating because I'm walking on land that is made by men not by nature not by God but by man and this is also happens to be one of those emergency Islands they call it right mommy emergency Island yeah that's what they say just now it's just uh emergency in case Islands in have a place highrise highrise Waters in case like uh the water level rises this is the place for them to evacuate from Malay and uh whichever islands are close by in Malaya I don't see much people all on the streets right now as we are walking probably they all working or maybe in the house cuz it's quite hot okay and uh I noticed that it's quite a lot of trash right mom a lot of garbage yeah people down here they just seem to they don't seem to put it in a garbage bin they just Chuck it all over the place like this yeah I actually noticed there's no garbage beIN around here yeah that's why that's the reason why all the trash are all be ched say look at that all over the place it's quite sad to see this looks like we found our first uh location something to do here in hul humal is go to the beach although if you come to Maldives practically every island is the beach so this is one of the things you can do down here walk by the beach it's because so far I haven't found anything interesting yet no landmarks nothing right Mom it's just yeah it's just flats and uh working areas offices let's go and see maybe they got some activity water activities here at the beach so I can see like there's people all on the wearing life jacket is this an Excursion or probably a work related thing mom you look really in relaxed down there relaxing under the [Music] tree so this are one of the things you can do we come to a beach obviously relax and unwind it's nice mom not bad I'm liking it very [Music] relaxing all right so we are going to take a bus instead since walking this wholeale such a a big island it's bigger than Mal apparently this manmade Island I thought it was a small island apparently is actually huge looking at Google Maps so I was surprised when I open up my phone and check how far is the other end it's bigger than I thought so we're going to do a comfortable way of traveling around the city is take a public bus and then we'll get a glimpse of the entire Island and a comfortable ride in air corn cuz right now it's quite humid starting to sweat so let's just wait for the bus and then we will see what there is to see in this island and then we head back to Malay and complete whatever we've missed out during our first day in [Music] Malay okay so me and my mom managed catch bus back to the bus and it's one of the best ways to do this to see the whole entire whole city just to see the city only because there's really nothing much to see down here it's just a residential area but since we are here might as well just go complete the whole entire Island before we head back to Mal right momy yeah plus the air is so comfortable I'm really sweaty and after getting to the bus I feel so cold right [Music] now [Music] another interesting Landmark here in the Maldives that you can visit in Mal is the tsunami Monument that's behind me right now so this area this is where the landed last time so for those who still remember that catastrophic disaster that happened in Asia and it destroyed a lot of the world so this is one of those places that was affected as well so in memory of that disaster they have a monument down here so imagine how the tsunami would struck down here and everybody just contining their normal day working doing their normal day-to-day activity and Sun out of nowhere a huge tsunami comes down from the side slips away and destroys everything from Asia it's crazy so this Monument reminds us of what happened previously all right it's very hot right now I'm already sweaty luckily I have my sun protection just to just to bear in mind guys the heat down here is painful it's penetrating to my skin that's what to expect so do wear a sunblock if you're walking around in Mal because if not you're just going to get sunburned okay so we already explored this area so now me and my mom are quite thirsty now so we want to have a cold drink since it's very hot and humid um we will find a place to drink and then after that we'll head to our next location which is the fish market from what I know is that they are very famous for their tuna so let's just go and see how does this tuna fish look like and how big it is and what other types of fish they sell in the market maybe there's something exotic we don't know let's can find out after our cold drink here in somewhere around here that's close by to the tsunami Monument all right Mom let's go all right okay take my my gimbal all right on we go [Music] okay after a few minutes of walking we found a shop and we got myself myself and ice cream with my mom chocolate and strawberry with some fresh fruit juice so we want to refreshen up first before we continue our adventure here in Mal to complete the whole entire Island one thing I notic about miv is that their sidewalks are very narrow so as as we walk through around the cities we have to squeeze our way into town so that's the only thing that is the downfall all the sides plus it's very polluted I would say people are not really maintaining the the environment just throwing bottles here and garbage and lots of motorbike lots of them so as we walk around after our ice cream and uh pineapple juice um we came across more on the like a market area so they sell all fruits and uh vegetables or something like this and it's very close to the to the docking area I think all the fairies are all the boats probably these are the boats that transport all the goods to the other islands of Mal Dives since there's a lot of atel around here so they are probably ones of the transportations that get rid that transport all the foods around there we found a local market here selling fruits and vegetables let's go immerse our with the locals yep let's see how what to find on oh interesting very nice this is the the beauty of travel that's what I love doing is when you go to another country you blend in with the locals the only difference is I can't blend in out because of my bag my bag really stands out look what I found here something interesting never seen this before maybe you guys know about this maybe you can leave it the comment below what is this fruit or vegetable something interesting here in malds I notic this in this market lots of bananas here there a lot of bananas here see let's go out and check out the fish market now and this is the boats oh look at that man look at the trash it's crazy how they polluted this beautiful paradise this is sad to see so the other side of Mal is the sad part to see look at that oh my God pollution it's very sad seeing all this this pollution it's terrible man and this is the fish market oh there we go so this is one of those uh interesting landmarks that people suggested to visit let's go check it out most of the locals say go and check out the fish market if you want to get more experience of the local life so let's see what they sell down here maybe we can find some interesting fish oh it's still open usually fish markets in the morning right Mom but here in MDES is still open it's like uh 12 something in the afternoon now and I'm seeing lots of huge fish man wow look at that wow this all tuna oh amazing I've never seen this type of fish in our markets so big yeah this a tuna right momy wow another landmark that we came across right after the fish market which is very close by is this huge flag down here cuz um apparently there's like a poster on here is congratulate congratulating their new president we came into the country at the time where they just recently had their election so they've already elected their new president no wonder we saw a lot of the FL Flags down here all decorated in a certain way CU when I ask the local wise the flags like this it's like almost in all the areas it's like a symbol you guys they put that they put the flags into three stands apparently that's uh there's a inauguration going on for the president so this is the new guy and what I can say about this uh place that we arrived is uh full of doves full of uh this uh pigeons I say pigeons and the huge flag all right so finally after a few minutes of walk now we've got to our South car park me and my mom need to rest now my feet is aching after exploring Mali all on food woo what a long day final moments of Mal and then later 9:00 fly back to Malaysia all right looks like I'm ready to walk around the park just to really see what you can do here so you'll come across like some swings it's like a place to come and rest and in front of me oh there's a slide come let's go and check it out something to do here at the park let's go and unleash our inner kid again me being a kid oh darn it it's close looks like they barricaded the slide would have been fun go [Music] it so it's is a small Park it's a place to come and chill um I'm not quite sure why this is actually a tourist attraction but it happens to be one of the top 10 things to do here when you come to Mal other than that just your typical Park okay I think we should bounce now well it's nice to hang out the park but I don't think we're going to get a comfortable recovery because a lot of mosquitoes are attacking me they're biting on my legs how are you Mom are they attacking you as well yeah too too many mosquito yeah so much mosquito you can see them flying all around my bag let's make let's head off to the artificial beach and chill down there Mom crossing the roads it's one of the scariest things to do here in the country right mommy yeah very scary it's like they want to bang you it's not like M it's not like Vietnam in here it has The Vibes of Vietnam but the problem is they feel like they want to bang you see you saw that saw that it's like you don't want to know whether they want to stop or what so our final Landmark here in Mal Maldives is the artificial Beach so me and my mom will kill time here before we head straight to the airport so we've seen almost the entirety of the males uh City this is our last final Pit Stop [Music] and there you have it fellow Travelers that is how you travel Mal Dives on the budget
