Best Places to see in VRCHAT! [Quest & PC] feat. Thrillseeker

[Music] it's your first day on vr chat use strap on your headset load up the game pick an avatar and load into a public lobby with story eyes eagerly awaiting the limitless bounds of virtual reality only to be created with a meme infested public lobby you've got people yelling racial slurs in one corner and screaming 10 year olds in the other and god forbid please let there be no erp this is a lot of people's first impression of yara chat and if you don't know any better you might just give up the game completely and toss that quest to you on a dusty shelf never to be touched again but the whole point of this video is the show that it's so much more than you can even comprehend but fia i want to play vr chat but i don't know how to find any of the cool stuff you always talk about where do i look well friends i'm glad you asked because in this video i teamed up with thrill from the thrill seeker youtube channel the best viewer channel out there totally not biased or anything to bring you through our virtual reality tour of vr chat hey there i'm thrill and on thrill seeker i cover pretty much everything vr from news to hardware reviews and games oh and i do lots of really cool experiments with vr hardware like making a real ready player 1 setup but today we're going to be talking about some of mine and fia's favorite vr chat worlds because honestly the onboarding experience in vr chat isn't the greatest and if you don't know what to do it's pretty easy to end up in a place that just doesn't suit you or even gives vr chat a bad first impression but there's so much to explore here there's a reason why many people like myself have thousands of hours exploring this virtual place it's almost like a real life oasis so real quick before we show you the worlds let me show you how you can go to these places it's super easy open up the vr chat menu go to the worlds tab and search up whatever world by the name you see on screen that's it and that should cover it for most new people but even for long time vrchat users you may find a world here that may become your next favorite also some of these worlds are pcvr only and some are pc and quest compatible so we'll mark next to the world name whether it'll suit your setup or not but now it's finally time to get the tour of both of our favorite vr chat world so let's go you can follow all the worlds in this video completely solo and have an amazing time but our recommended first stop before you get into the mind bendy fun stuff is to go make some friends some of the most popular worlds can be a bit of a hit or miss as the culture of each one changes drastically from world to world great pog and midnight rooftop are a couple favorites of mine but we both really enjoy meeting people in just bee club and in drinking night just bee club is a multi-level building suite decked out with fun features and toggles making it one of the best places to hang out with new friends you spawn in on an elevator and are greeted by this welcoming anime girl receptionist in the front door you're able to spawn in a tablet with you into the world that has some touch controls kind of like a floating ipad that allows you to control the world features including funny stuff like player pickup it's super unique compared to other public worlds and generally has a decent vibe going on whenever at least i've been i personally enjoy dipping treats in the chocolate fountain and there's plenty of space for people to play games of pool or vr pong you can take combos to private rooms or watch videos downstairs it's just totally a place i always unintentionally end up at however if you're looking for more experience and maybe a bit of an older crowd i personally love going to drinking night and it's usually where i start a fun night in vr chat and by the way drinking night really doesn't mean you have to drink whether you're boozing it up or you're just taking water shots the drinking night world is way more about letting loose and having some fun with people in a relatively controlled atmosphere it's not always about getting super turned and it has a ton of fun games built into the world you got never have i ever card games spin the bottle all sorts of stuff just whatever you do don't let black cat be your first impression of public worlds sometimes really popular worlds can just be a little toxic but there are lots of cool people and places to be although there's way more to vr chat than just social gathering worlds some of my absolute favorite worlds land in the artful section beautiful ethereal virtual reality places that simply aren't possible in the physical world starting with one that is very near to my heart treehouse in the shade i've streamed here on twitch for hundreds of hours it was my homeworld for years treehouse in the shade is a really special world it being a treehouse in the middle of a massive open space and you can change the environment to be nearly anything you want with a list of dozens of backgrounds ranging from trippy to serene to well everything in between this world is a must visit and i think you'll see quickly why i've fallen in love with it it's beautiful relaxing and comforting my favorite mind bindi world to show people in vr chat is actually the museum of vr painting japanese vr artist aimee segaguchi paints elaborate art pieces in tilt brush and this world is a showcase of some of her most vivid and creative pieces 3d painting is almost incomparable to physical art because literally anything is possible so not only are the possibilities in this when it comes to the art itself but also in the presentation of how it's displayed we specifically left out the best parts in this footage however because you can't just look at a video to do this justice as sekiguchi says herself don't think feel okay now if you're into psychedelia and fractals and general trippy vr experiences look no further than adrift liquid metallic mirrors psychedelic shader effects a massive black hole you can fly into this is a world you can spend hours in and you likely will honestly i don't think i even need to say any more about it just go to adrift and get lost and come back whenever you found yourself again from among us to put putt to a good ol round of murder there's a lot of games to play in vr chat anyone can create any kind of experience just by downloading unity so people go pretty crazy if you like escape rooms i have to recommend pop escape and project summer flare as some of my favorites with hours of puzzles and surprises but my all-time favorite vr game period is actually a full-fledged five to six hour co-op horror map called the devouring you are driving on the road when you get mysteriously attacked before waking up in the guest room of a creepy mansion with nothing but a cryptic letter saying that the home family found you injured in a car crash and cleans you up then brought you here and you made it just in time for a special dinner they've been planning so keep waiting in the guest room until it's ready no of course this spacious man chain is filled with puzzles and fascinating secrets but the entire time you have to keep on your toes because something is following your every move even if you don't necessarily like horror or being scared it's beyond engaging and well worth the experience the entire thing was made by a team of four people over the course of 10 months on the older version of the sdk vr chat which inevitably means that it won't be there for much longer i really don't want to spoil this one just because it's seriously that good including the custom ost so please take my word on it and at least give this one a go laser tag is a ton of fun to play with a group of friends or even randoms and it gets quite competitive actually i've spent hours running through with friends shooting for the highest score plus you can have four teams playing at the same time so like i said it can get pretty intense but if you're not looking for thrills and games there are plenty of chill worlds to relax in like harbor shimishima featuring an actual moving train that goes around a city with fireworks and waterbed in the back or aquarius probably one of the prettiest chill worlds i've ever seen you're in a massive aquarium with fish and sharks and jellyfish aquarius takes the cake for me in terms of being beautiful while having that chill factor spending late nights with friends in a chill world is about the best thing you can hope for but if you're looking to explore the aesthetic side of your chat then there's plenty for you to see orion is one of my all-time faves because of its sparkly beautiful sky while starfarer has you taking a cosmic train ride through falling stars there's eastern inspired looks kawaii carnival date spots and so so so much more to see you can find gorgeous worlds for basically any kind of aesthetic possible but these are just clips from some of our favorites that you'll see us use for pretty backdrops during streams or in photos i'd recommend following these two twitter accounts if you're a sucker for aesthetic worlds like me because they're constantly photographing some of the prettiest spots you can find and posting them for you to check out there's also worlds that are called world repositories that are just chock full of portals to all of these types of places i really recommend this one in particular probably my second favorite thing in all of your chat my favorite thing coming next are the intense and insane particle worlds i just love these these world's sole purpose are to take audio visual stimuli in vr and turn it to the absolute maximum unlike anything you can ever experience anywhere else some of my favorites are the edge a place for purple people and a place for golden people guiles animation worlds and of course particle hell if you want your face melted off with friends for one of the most insane music visual experiences ever spend some time in these worlds they're a great one to have in your back pocket they're super unique hard to make but they're fantastic everyone's favorite games animes and movies and it's the zelda series that convinced me to get a vr headset in the first place there's nostalgia girls for everyone but if you're a huge zelda fan like me you'll be excited to know there's an entire playable version of breath of the wild's great plateau that you can play in vr chat with friends it's pretty groundbreaking and one of the most fulfilling experiences i think a nintendo fan could get out of vr at the moment but my personal favorite project is by nisha wolfe who was currently working on a fully playable game version of majora's mask with working dungeons save states enemies npcs side quests and items like the masks and the entire thing is playable on quest she's rolling out updates constantly so it's hard to contain my excitement that something fun gets added practically every week they're also looking for help with some of the 3ds npc animation files so if you have experience with c sharp and wanna lend a hand please hit up their email here there's of course maps for other franchises like mario halo undertale you name it but i think the prettiest one of them all is actually the studio ghibli map that you might not know about it's a collection of areas from various ghibli movies where you can interact with the likes of totoro hell's moving castle in the spirited away bathhouse and way more it was removed a long while ago from the searchable worlds list but you can still round about access it through a portal in this world called pretty world repository there's a portal in there that will take you to a public instance so even though you can't favorite it or anything you're still able to go check it out this way just do me a favor when you get there and wait till night [Music] so i said particle worlds were my second favorite thing to do in vr chat my top favorite thing however is attending live music events with people within vr the idea is kind of crazy attendees from all over the world come together in vr to dance and enjoy a live music performance within these nutty larger-than-life venues i kinda think it's one of the coolest things to do in vr in general and there are lots of great places to do it in fact fiat just posted a video on this not that long ago so check that one out as well but the top clubs i attend whenever i can are tube shelter loner and ghost club but i'm actually about to launch my own awesome venue schism in just a couple weeks combining both the vr club atmosphere with that incredible particle world feel and there's some info on that down below in the description but in general live music in vr is incredible and being able to experience it with 80 people from around the world together makes it even better but after you're done partying and dancing and listening to music you're probably gonna be pretty tired and there's no better way to end the night than plopping on a virtual couch with your friends sitting down to watch a movie in any one of these movie worlds offering totally dmca free no copyright definitely can't watch just about anything you could possibly imagine for totally free with your friends not seriously though ending the night in a chill movie world is the move and it's usually how i end my crazy vr chat nights give it a go so of course if you've been following the virtual reality show for any amount of time you'll know that the past two years i've been working closely with my friend sly thief on the tvrs vr chat studio finally we're getting ready to launch the studio in september and this is the first full look at what we've been working on i'm planning to host full live events here in the studio the opera theater and the club everything from live interviews performances vr movie premieres social
