This car is beautiful indeed, absolutely love the exterior and interior, especially colors. BUT you cannot convince me to buy this car over a Mercedes S coupe (preferably S63/65) for so many reasons quality, reliability, service, ease of ownership due to much larger dealer network. I have said it before, if you ever have a chance to compare S class interior vs other very high end cars, do it. You'll be impressed what Mercedes has done.

[Music] [Applause] [Music] well welcome to a new Harry's garage and today's car is the Bentley Continental GTC behind me introduced this year 2018 to replace the original model that came out I can't believe it was that long ago but 2003 that's 15 years in production the original quantity t did that's twice the lifecycle or a normal model just shows you how successful the model was for Bentley I mean in the end they sold apparently around 65,000 Continental GT s of the first version so a real crucial model for Bentley and to put that in perspective those approximately for every Aston db9 so there was four Continental GT sold why was it so successful and what are they done to this brand-new car which they do say is very new compared to their it's not just an update this going to have a closer look first thing to look at is the design they've had a thorough rethink of the continuity along the same lines he still has those powerful haunters at the rib but the nose is different it has a wider grille lower slung those headlights are just works of art they're like a diamond pattern we look at them LED lights is standard on this car and this wide chrome grill and the deep intake underneath in surprised that it's sort of all that chrome around the grille and in the back so they're actually plastic they don't look very upmarket that actual grilles below the main grille around a number plate but it has presents this car I think they've done a terrific job and the sharpness of the lines on it are just extraordinary I know VW are very proud of that I've dropped the windows on it cuz I just love pillarless coupe ace like this and I think it just shows off the line of the car beautifully this is a optional color this ruby red I think it sets it off very well but just look at that line on that rear horse it's just how that crease line is just razor sharp really good metal work that this car is all annum innum as well apart from the I think that boot is a I don't wanna call it classy I don't what else to call it really but not aluminium but it's yeah a very good redesign everybody sees it that says oh that's a striking car there's a little hint of Audi a7 about it but I'll forgive it that because it has presence and it's a dramatically better styled than the original contra duty do it had a slightly blobby nature around the rear I always thought this one no this very stylized lights have they've dropped the rear window source has a false rear window that goes into the boot gives it a great look and that very distinctive brake light just along the rear window all in all on design absolute top job looks a million dollars okay let's have a look inside now I'm gonna give you a full tour that it's here when I actually go to drive it but it's something I just want to show you now when you're able to do this trade right in big bold letters in red sometimes when I open the door it's in blue I'm not quite sure what's going on about that but this is a 2+2 so I'm interested can I sit behind me so that's my driving position there I'm gonna get in the back of course it's all motorized I put that forward motors forward put that down seat Motors forward Oh it hits money and it's just yeah there you go so actually all just touch your knees and just go forward about an inch i'm 6:162 i'm a little snug in here but I do fit this just feel it a little bit of touching it it's not bad actually it's better so much better than the previous quantity t they've stretched the wheelbase on this car and it's a neat County it does given has given it a little bit more interior room right let's have a look at the business centre some look at the engine and there we go this w12 engine that thankfully is made its own in this configuration this new spec and it's really changed it looked at far in orders and it's and shutdowns and there's all sorts of things it's produces six litres it says there produces 626 horsepower and 900 Newton meters of torque which is 664 for two enormous thumping power unit what's quite nice is actually this is part an oxen Pat's got an actual metal oil filler when I have a look around in here I can't actually see a dipstick I don't think he possesses a dipstick I think that's all electronic and what they've managed to do the engineers are somehow managed to get this pack 150 mil further back in the chassis with fur for handling obviously and they also have this this this very distinctive brace this cast aluminium here brace between the front struts lot of working here I can see that the owner would basically never look under here the only thing he's got there's a washer bottle up there and that's it so that's all you see of the engine now let's have a look at the bat it's quite a trick feature at the back okay I like the way the screen actually ends there but and the boot starts from there but they've made this a black panel just to fool your EIN I think it's a bigger screen this panel here is a rear spoiler that automatically deploys at about 75 miles now there abouts he can't control it manually underneath as well but there's a trick feature on it if I just do this up comes the boot it's got gesture control to open the boot and I love the way the real light sort of tuck into the boot like that reasonable sized boot oh just a patch in underneath there and yeah some foam to fill it up no way of closing part my prisoner button no there you go does that give you a little idea about the Bentley let's take it outside take you for a drive Wow yeah quite a place in here really impressive interior on this first of all the car hands you a seat belt very conveniently and then you're presented with this is all lit up LCD readout on the screen typical screen you see there these days and to start it on a central button to start it and there we go the theater begins first thing that pops up is the revolving navigation screen this central screen if I just turn the radio down a little bit there we go I love just so many features to talk you through here but water design it is smaller wheel this this this car I've got the option pack here which I'm going to read out from because it's there's a lot of stuff on this car recommended list for this car out the show 159 thousand one hundred pounds in the UK total option costs to this car 43085 pounds making a grand total of two hundred and two thousand one hundred and eighty five pounds now you don't have to spend that much that's typical of press cars they load them up so then we we can show you the options that are available on the car like this and the key ones on this one I extended paint range because it's this Ruby Nova red is the color on this car four and a half thousand pounds but on that drive in specification alternative wheel that's eight thousand and ninety five pounds what on earth does that add so that adds must add quite a lot more of the driver spec is 21 inch wheels quilted two seats this beautiful diamond pattern and then a sort of tiny stitches all the way around over 700 stitches in each diamond apparently accorded the press back according to seats door cases and rear quarters Darwin and in diamond in diamonds embroidery indented lever headlining sorry I'm losing my space sports pedals as metal pedals metal fill fuel filler cap and that metal oil cap we saw before touring specification on here's Lane Assist adaptive cruise control night vision yes this night vision you just turn the dash and you can just see it night and anything that's sort of alive that I saw birds popping out of hedgerows on a way to Goodwood yesterday things like that head-up display adjustable seats at front seat comfort specifications adjustable side bolsters and in the ventilation massage etc city specification is another city specification I don't have that on my car right so that is that's not too bad actually well 3960 no it's not the abs quite a lot of money so I apologize ignore that mood lighting specification 1490 pass it goes on anyway the city's spec amazing cameras are going to show you in a minute pedestrian warning reversing traffic that doing mirrors all that sort of thing yeah amazing amount of options you can have all of these cars but what it presents you with is for just a remarkable thing now the screen in front of me I have the two dials at the moment I could change that I can have trip like that I haven't got anything set in the navigation otherwise I could have the whole thing as a map but this screen this rotates I'm one of the my bugbears with its current interior car design is they always have a central screen and it dominates everything not so on the Bentley if this is a this is another action I'll get my trip sheet again Bentley rotating display four thousand seven hundred pound extra this one and I press screed it'll do that and suddenly up will pop a three conventional dials with a compass in the middle just slightly confusing because the needle never moves and then the compass moves around so other way around to a normal compass I can see there's 22 degrees out there there's a temperature gauge there and a stopwatch we're haven't quite worked out how to power up but it was all very nice and then when you park up of an evening I can't I did another one there's another okay when I park up I'll stop it now that all folds away and it does that wonderful rotate and then online just sort of finishes and like it has no screen at all there you go I mean that the button countess is beautifully done it's slightly confusing when you first get in but the overall impression is I'm not being an interior light as good as this and that's I suppose why you pay nearly two hundred thousand pounds for this job okay now the final thing I want to show you on this screen is when you select reverse you get the cameras up and then you get this bird's-eye view which I find particularly useful but what I've been really impressive in this car is how quickly it will change so I'm going forward I have a forward camera there I can see around me I've got a Villard there I've got little Terriers that love to run around the car I can spot them on this it's really clever and I like the way it holds the forward camera open I get reversed and I instantly changes the camera there's no pause no nothing it's in real time as as quickly as I change that lever as quickly as the cameras change not all cars are like that but this one is very impressive you'll probably shout I mean but my golf does the same but all I can say is a mighty impressive system anyway all these cars all about is how it drives so let's go to some of our favourite roads and you'll rejoin me when we're just gonna test it a bit more dynamics of what this cars feeling okay in comfort mode the air Springs as well changed it's more relaxed than the damping and it's a very good walk though is you'd imagine this sort of car to be there is always that hint of that urge from that engine it can always keeps the revs low in general you see will rarely break through 2,000 rpm should also say it's an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission is not G of conventional talk the verge of the previous 20 GT has it still is NF unit but its dual clutch transmission and they've done that because it's 900 Newton meters and at the moment there isn't really a talk about to give us an in cope with that amount of tool your clutch transmission can I have a little criticism it's not quite a good at wafting and that stop started city does get caught between first or second gear and here it to steal a little shuffle that's common to all Gil Plus transmissions are driven that's where a torque converter is king but then if you want the dynamic drive and instant crack of a gear change that's where you go for dual clutch know something about to find out rather take it out of brilliant Bentley I'm gonna swap it around to sport the other fun thing was sports as soon as I touched the paddle on the steering wheel I'm in manual mode and it's low gear which is one of my bugbear to gain but second gear is a very usable gear it really helps acceleration helps this car hit 3.1 to 60 this is those gear changes going that that is pretty step up I saw this car has been fingered by a few magazines they gave 28.1 to a hundred this car weighs two point two tons perhaps a bit more 8.1 two hundred supercar the other little thing it's got up its sleeve compared to the previous generation active role control that was introduced under been tiger previous generation coated ET had normal anti-roll bars this has a 48 volt system and active roles it really controls the road got went up this sort of mode the downside of super stiff role anti-roll bars is Hannity Glee effect on the suspension this could mean that the suspension could act normally and ease of compromised by stiff materials so Steve's car what is this car is it a luxury car is he a racecar would I think it's all changed since the car was first introduced who would have thought we would see a Bentley at racing a gt3 level but there is a new Continental GT race car that was at the previous version there is of this one never thought I'd see that so this car has to it plays that role that done any role that's it's sort of a scarred I think that's why I always sold so well in the past because you could do the luxury and we could do the dynamic you could shop with its performance and this one certainly shots this this should not at this weight behave like this through these bins 2.2 ton car doesn't weather understeer I've got really steer like some cars have in this class team and zero votes really work at that suspension I've got it in sports out of stiffer sprung but it dealt with that compression very well those brakes are working mighty hard are made of for 20 mil front discs steel from dis they're the biggest brakes fitted to a rogue blur tin-pot calipers tip count that is noisy caliper on it six pots at the rear even yeah well what do we make of this car well when he arrived I was ready to dismiss it I thought it's overweight w12 engine never particularly liked the w12 engine v8 Continental previous version that showed that that's dynamic ability it was better than of w12 so I'm sort of ready to dismiss this having lived with it it's a different story this is I'm pretty sure that Conti GT of choice the engine somehow by doing the firing order by two cylinder deactivation the old crazy fuel consumption is gone we used to struggle to do 2021 before even at cruising I went down to Goodwood in this car yesterday 28.1 mpg on the way down I thought that's ridiculous on the way back I pressed a bit harder and got home and Rishabh see 28.5 well that means this is an over 400 bar range for the 90 meter tank that's a big change of previous version dynamically move that engine back and then this would split in power the factory's rear then goes to the front has given it a new character those anti-roll bars there's a dynamic class to this car that wasn't there in the previous version so yeah I really like it only other downside sighs a bit more road noise I would like but that seems to be typical this class the size of tars were getting to it's very well insulated I thought in this class I want the DB 11 I like the snarl of the DB 11 must always be the Christmas's w12 it has a gruff voice doesn't sound like a 12 cylinder but it delivers the whole span and over the DB 11 the big change is how it makes you feel really step inside its compromised the DB 11 interior this isn't compromised in any way this is world class interior I've actually say it probably leads the world other cars that consider in this class and the rolls-royce Rafe perhaps or the Ferrari not so they're just there more money Rolls Royce Wraith I like that if you want the rear space it's got that so that's important to you probably choose that car but it's more expensive by about 50 60 thousandths but quite a lot Ferrari FF very special car more space but this one 159,000 for war it delivers this is supercar performers world-class interior and luxury I think they've got absolutely maybe this sector isn't the most popular now but this is the definitive Sport GT Cruiser and it's got this extra dynamic this you so get top job excellent job so I hope
