how's it going guys stephen from breakfree homestead today we are going to be bending some fascia this is going to be aluminum roll fascia i'll show you real quick what we have here [Music] if this content helps you guys out at all please drop down below hit that like and subscribe button it really helps your channel out we went with the plastic soffit here as you can tell this is long overdue for some fascia now it's taken so long because i was planning on you know just bending this stuff by hand in a 2x4 but that does not really work it does not really look good and it will not be consistent this is the world aluminum that we went with um yeah i mean i couldn't source locally pre-bent fascia so this is what i thought i was going to do but i didn't have a break and if you've looked online brakes are pretty expensive right here i have a 10 foot break it's a van mark we rented this from a true value um in the area this is gonna get the job done uh the right way and i'll show you how we're gonna do it all right so i just went ahead and did a test piece um what we're wanting is a one inch overlap on the bottom so it's gonna look like this so first part coming out we bent an inch over um well first you cut your piece so what your face is and you want tucked in to the drip edge and then you um would add an inch so this is giving us our support on the top uh we have our face which you measured up in to your drip edge and then your bottom inch now you're always going to want to have your your bottom part uh you're going to want to be your clean edge on your your metal roll because you're gonna have to cut that because i'm assuming you don't have 24 inch fascia so yeah you're gonna have to cut it uh middle kind of gets wasted but it's all good and now when you're bending this you're gonna want to bend a little bit past 90 degrees because it does kind of spring back and then if it's a little bit extra you kind of when you secure it you shove it up in there and it'll sit flat on it uh and then when you tack it in so i'll show you real quick how this fits and then uh we'll move forward and show you how to break so that's how it's going to look with a full length piece this edition is about 14 almost 15 feet so it's gonna be a little bit longer two pieces but yeah let's get uh cutting all this stuff and uh hopefully we can do all this i gotta return this break tomorrow morning so let's get to it all right so this break is a little over ten feet long so what are you ten foot exact uh [Music] [Music] so you can kind of use the large square to uh get that done we used a sharpie because the pencil was kind of uh not working too well so what we're gonna do now is cut this thing by a pneumatic cutter cutting it by hand is possible you get a lot more uh movement and bending in the metal and this should be a little bit faster and a little bit cleaner for us so just try to uh be as easy on the metal as you can while you're uh you're doing this you know [Music] so [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] all right so we're gonna get our piece in here we're gonna bring the brake down just above it so we can mark our lines and now the first bend we're doing is our inside top piece is where you cut so our clean lines will be on the bottom now we're putting it just in front of the line clamp it down a little bit make sure both sides are even all right now both sides are even you're going to secure your brake and this one you're going to bend it as much as you can all the way up okay that's good there now release it and what we're going to do now is just pull it out and go to our one inch mark for the bottom that's going to sit over our soffits and we're gonna do the same thing in securing it all right like i said before a little bit over 90. just gonna go nice and slow let's go to the side check it i'm gonna go a little bit more all right i'm gonna release this now we're gonna stick you can try to do it that way i find it a little bit easier to uh figure out where you're at right if you do it the other direction [Applause] so [Music] all right [Music] [Music] all right guys we got how many six um pieces for our ends here and then we have two for the gable ends that'll tie in um one over here where the box is not gonna need a 90 curve but it's going to be tucked in there so we got that just has no 90 on it but everything's all done this break has made it super easy i would appreciate it if you guys drop down hit that like and subscribe button like i said it really helps the channel and we'd love to grow with you [Music] [Music] you
