Bell vs. Ais | Hestia Familia vs. Loki Familia – DanMachi Season 3 Episode 10 & 11 Cut Content

bell versus eyes was definitely the highlight of these past two episodes but the anime tends to exclude a lot of the scenes that don't directly pertain to the hestia familia and this sometimes goes to disrupt the cohesion of the plot like i bet you're probably wondering why there was a random child in the middle of the evacuated streets of daedalus or how has asterisk been able to make his way through daedalus without anything happening well those are things that we'll cover as we go through how this operation to save the zeno should have been so let's take a look at what the anime didn't include from the novels for episodes 10 and 11. let's begin episode 10 invisible covering chapters 3 and 4 of volume 11 of the light novel just as how it was with episode 9 freya seems to have been excluded yet again from the anime they don't really consider her a player in this game like how they did in the novels you see hermes had actually tried to get her involved he had gone to visit her the night before the operation to see if she'd be willing to help basically saying how belle wouldn't be the same adventurer she admired if he wasn't able to save the xenos that's right hermes had told her pretty much everything regarding the existence of these monsters it was in hopes of getting her to take action against the loki familia the thing is freya didn't care about the zenos at all her only common interest with hermes was belle but that single overlapping fascination wasn't enough to sway her she was a bit concerned that another deity aside from herself was toying with belle but she was convinced that even without her direct action bell would still emerge stronger and more determined like he always has then as if to confirm the validity of those words a single transparent soul could be seen shining on the streets down below it was a familiar figure illuminated by the same brightness she had been captivated by ever since she first saw it so that was when freya knew that belle would be fine now it's after this that we get to the moments before the operation bal's initial walkthrough dadalis showed that the guild had evacuated most of the area because of this he couldn't help but feel pain for the orphans he's caused so much trouble for but he also felt a sense of relief since they wouldn't be around to see what was going to happen next especially since it was almost a certainty that daedalus was going to turn into a battleground in any case the parts with nasa and the others were pretty much as we saw the only difference was that various onlookers could overhear portions of his conversations which as you'd expect caused their resentment towards him to rise it made belle feel as if a piece of garbage now had a better reputation than he did as hestia and haruhime could overhear these conversations as well the two of them were monitoring a map known as the legacy of daedalus this was a hand-drawn plot of the area that fells had created himself over 600 years ago he had surveyed on foot almost every part of this massive district plotting down all the hidden alleys and passageways that he could find although he couldn't get to all of them there were quite a few on here that not even the residents of daedalus knew of so this was a very important asset that gave bell and the others a significant advantage especially since it worked in conjunction with the magic item seeker powder this was what they were using to keep track of everyone's location by combining their blood with this powder then dropping it onto the map the map would then show them where that person was on it so every person and xenos except for fels and gross had given their blood allowing hestia to see exactly where they were in title is this information in combination with the oculi was by far the strongest thing that bell and the others had at their disposal it gave them the edge over finn for both communication and knowledge and it could have very well been the reason that the zenos got as far as they did the only thing that would have been better was if they were able to track the loki familia as well but hestia knew from a past conversation that that wouldn't have been possible you see hestia had actually tried to get loki to join them she had gone to loki alone and told her about the existence of the zenos explaining everything that had happened over the past couple of days just like with freya this was in hopes of getting her to side with them but those hopes were quickly dashed when loki just laughed in her face she wasn't laughing at the prospect of co-existing with the xenos though it was more so at the prospect of getting finn to cooperate with them that was a completely ridiculous suggestion that loki couldn't help but laugh at knowing who finn wasn't what he was trying to represent loki knew that it would be impossible to get him to side with the monsters even if she did give him and the others the orders to cooperate it was much more likely that they'd leave the loki familia before actually doing what she said there was just too much for them to lose from doing something so irrational so loki told hestia that it was impossible for their two familias to come to an understanding what they both wanted existed on completely opposite ends of the spectrum it didn't matter whether finn knew that these monsters were harmless or not because even if he did he still wouldn't hesitate to exterminate every single one of them that's just how extreme his ambitions were to reinforce that point even further loki went on to tell hestia that finn already had a pretty good idea of what the zenos were anyway he just didn't tell any of the others because he knew that they would start to hesitate and that was something that could cost people their lives so in the end this was a risk that finn just wasn't willing to accept it was reasoning valid enough to show hestia just how impossible cooperation was so the reason was never because loki didn't want to it was always because finn would never allow it that said loki did promise not to tell her children what hestia was planning she never explicitly said why she wasn't going to but she did say that she was interested in the mystery and amusement of it all either way hestia did feel a bit of relief knowing that loki wouldn't interfere it's after this that we finally get to the beginning of the operation it was marked by the back and forth howling of all the zenos throughout to the city what the anime didn't tell us though was that this howling was actually a unique language that only the zenos could understand they were using it to report to each other their locations and target destination it's how all the other zenos knew where to go so as everyone began to make their moves lily's role was very imperative in clearing a path for them she was tasked with creating a diversion that would lead to the loki familia away from the zenos since it didn't matter how lily had studied the profiles of the loki familia to determine that raul was the easiest to manipulate so he was the one that she targeted to complete her mission but you're probably wondering how she was able to sufficiently mimic the mannerisms and personality of finn well that comes back to another cutscene from season 2. if you don't remember there was a time when finn had tried to take lily's hand in marriage it was during this time that she was able to use her skills as a former thief to efficiently analyze finn's character allowing her to properly imitate him as the commander so this resulted in a spot on performance that someone like raul wouldn't be able to see through when he had arrived to report to finn finn almost immediately recognized this tactic as the same one from the war game he was able to quickly piece together that this was the work of none other than lily i mean he already knew that she was the sharpest member of the hestia familia so it wasn't too hard for him to accept the fact that he'd been duped by her what he couldn't accept though was the fact that he might have made a mistake you see vin believed that they'd already discovered all the doors to nasus but the direction that zenos were going dictated otherwise that's when bin remembered that ikolos had mentioned something about daedalus's notebook if that book was to identify another entrance then everything finn had planned for was essentially wrong it was one of the rare moments where finn had overestimated his own abilities and this was made perfectly clear by the fact that his thumb was beginning to ache you see this finger was linked directly to his superior instincts so whenever it hurt that's when finn knew that he was in danger since that was the case right now his mind erased as he tried to determine what the next best plan of action was and soon enough the outside world began to fade away as he became more focused on the problem in front of him as he was about to get completely lost in his own thoughts that's when loki finally decided to show her face her nonchalant attitude made finn want to dismiss her but she had a few words that she wanted to say first the first was that he needed to get to the bottom of this the next was that he shouldn't rely on anyone else so it was basically loki leaving everything to him it was a rather serious statement from a deity who was usually so impetuous so finn found himself a bit more calm and ready to take command again in the end he took a moment to question raul about his imposter leading him to confirm his suspicions that bell and the others did in fact have daedalus notebook now while all that was going on there was an entire chapter cut that went to show various events happening around daedalus in the northwestern side of the district maria from the orphanage was pleading with oka and chiggas up for help you see rue had gone off and run back to the church to retrieve a cat that he'd been secretly taken care of for those of you that don't remember this was one of the orphans that cedar would occasionally take care of and it was the same one that had turned his back on bell the day before so maria was trying to get some help with finding him over to the northeast cassandra was carrying a box that just so happened to have an al mirage and hellhound in it her premonitions had led her to find these two xenos and take them in reason being that in her vision a rabbit charm had prevented her from being swallowed by a giant black wave a massive wall of darkness that would actually turn out to be asterius luckily when asterius did come across both her and daphne the al mirage jumped out of the box to tell him that they were friendly leaving them both unharmed in what could have been a very different situation so this was how the rabbit and dog were able to reunite with mysterious as they made their way through the streets what was left behind them was nothing more than destruction and terror numerous adventurers were left in a pitiable state as they tried their best to stop him but what they were doing couldn't even be called a struggle it was an overwhelming difference in power that only went to make asterius hunger grow more and more when they finally regrouped with a larger number of zenos he easily took out to the hunters that were pursuing them it was as he did that the other zenos looked at him with either fear or praise and it was these very looks that made him realize that his dream was fundamentally different from theirs whereas they wanted to coexist in peace asterius was still looking for that one single fight a fight that he knew that he couldn't bring the other zenos into so rather than follow them into the dungeon or lead them to where they weren't supposed to go asterius gave them his key to gnosis then went on his own way when the others asked him what he was going to do he simply told them that he was going to fight he was going to open up a path for them as well as find the dream that he'd been searching for the others could only look on in sadness as they parted ways with asterius for what could possibly be the last time even asterius himself had a premonition that this would be it for him but that didn't matter if he was able to find his dream now when we go back to the main group of zenos the unconscious adventurers they'd been leaving behind had to garner to the attention of tiona and tione so they were actually the first from the loki familia to confront wealth and to mikoto they did come across a few lower leveled members but wolff's magic daggers were more than enough to stop them unfortunately the same couldn't be said for these two first-class adventurers though even when wealth and mikoto had targeted their blind spots pure instinct and reaction speed allowed these sisters to dodge their ice with ease at first they thought it to be the attack of an iceberg but tiona and tione soon realized that this level of power was far too strong for that once they figured out it was a type of magic it became very apparent that they were being attacked by two hidden assailants it was almost instantly after that that both tiona and tionai were able to pinpoint wealth into mikoto's location despite having these cloaks that made them invisible wealth and bikoto still found that these two level 6 adventurers were staring right at them it was a petrifying gaze that made them realize a head-on fight just wasn't going to be possible so instead they decided to run and block their path with numerous walls of ice but even that wasn't enough to slow them down with a single kick or swing of their sword tiona and tione smashed through every barrier that wealth and mikoto erected at most it had bought the xanos a couple of seconds but in the end it didn't really matter since tiona made the decision to toss her sword at them the impact it made was so strong that it had shattered the very ground the xenos were running on sending all of them flying in each and every direction so this was the moment when wealth and mikoto decided to stand their ground but instead of facing gareth now they were facing off against two amazonian sisters in a fight to the death you see both tiona and tionai were going into this fight with the mindset to kill so mikoto and wealth steal to themselves to take these two monsters on in a battle for their lives now although it was a gamble mikoto waited for them to charge before using fubu to create a massive gale of wind fortunately it was strong enough to send them flying backwards and away from the battlefield but just like the other daggers this one didn't have the power to do much damage it was simply meant to create space and stall for time so it was likely that once tiona and tiona hit to the ground they'd return right back to where they were vals did consider this to be a minor victory though but they didn't even have time to breathe before their next opponent came and this time it was gareth like how he saw in the anime what the anime didn't show though was that the zenos had actually tried to stop him in a single combined effort ten of them had charged towards him all at the same time but with sheer strength alone gareth was able to resist all of them dispensing even the strongest of them in only a matter of seconds it was only rey's high-pitched sound attack that proved to be effective against him it staggered gareth for a brief moment which allowed walvin makoto to step in to face him bringing us to the fight that we saw in the anime as we know it was during this commotion that weenie became separated from the rest of them resulting in her unknowingly stumbling across tiona but before we get to that remember how i said that the orphan rue had been lost somewhere in daedalus well the child that wenay saved was that orphan it wasn't just another random kid like how we saw in the anime winnie had saved roo from the falling debris in front of numerous adventurers as well as maria chigasa and oka what was most important from this though was that it wanted to show the orphans who had called bellatrader from just the day before that maybe he was actually right all along even oka and chigesa now found themselves having doubts of their own anyway once bell and haruhime met up with wine their encounter with beto was pretty much the same but there could have been a bit more to show how he had decided to treat haruhime as an opponent you see haruhime's unyielding determination led bit to accept her resolve and to treat her like how he would any other adversary that's why he allowed her to finish casting her spell he was going to face her head on with everything she had as for the use fight with eyes well she wasn't even able to last more than 3 minutes so as far as diversions go it wasn't very effective in fact eyes never really stopped trailing bell at all she'd managed to catch up to him before he'd even met up with haruhime so i had actually been monitoring him the entire time including the parts when he met up with weiner the only reason that belle didn't know was because she had decided to keep her presence hidden this time and the only reason that debate stepped in before her was because eyes was still hesitant on whether to make a move or not but now that belle was with this monster that's when eyes knew that she had to make her move the ensuing fight was much more like a game of cat and mouse you see ice wasn't paying very much attention to belle to her all that mattered right now was catching weiner so after bell had told weenay to run away i simply avoided his attacks then ran past him to pursue her target so it was basically eyes chasing weiner while bell was chasing eyes occasionally ice would have to turn around and block bell's attacks but nothing was preventing her from gaining ground towards weiner bell pleaded with eyes to listen only to be met with the same response that her answer would not change so with hestia's guidance belle was able to take a shortcut that placed him ahead of eyes it brought them to a narrow alley where eyes now had no choice but to confront belle head on the tight space put her silver sword at a serious disadvantage making bell's smaller knives even more effective against her it was because of this that eyes had to rely on her speed momentarily putting all her energy and power into a swift strike that knocked bell right off his feet in just two blows bell had found himself in a completely indefensible position so given that bell was now struggling to recover ice had assumed that the fight was over but bell just got back up and continued to tell her to stop now rather than ignore him ice decided that it was best to end it for good she charged at him with a continuous chain of slashing attacks that bell could neither dodge nor defend it was an overwhelming onslaught of moves that he would have been dead to had eyes not been using the flat of her sword by the time it was over bell found himself to be losing consciousness on the floor the only thing he could make out was eyes lowering her head in sadness while turning her back to him as much as he wanted to sink into this blank state of darkness the thought of iza's sad expression and wenay's tears wouldn't allow him to so bell forced himself back up and followed hestia's directions to weenie leading to the moment when bell had to send her down the very same tunnel that he once left hestia in the whole time bell was fighting eyes the only reason he was able to last as long as he did was because he had gone through numerous potions but even after all those were finished he still forced himself back up over and over again bell experienced firsthand the massive gap between his reality and his ideal but even when faced with this massive disparity he refused to let himself fall to the single person he admired the most instead he used her showcase of overwhelming skill to push himself even further forcing himself to use everything he's learned from her to do anything that he possibly could it wasn't until he finally landed a single hit that eyes decided to hear what he had to say which brings us to the final emotional moments of this encounter considering everything from here was adapted pretty well not much needs to be said other than the fact that eyes truly seemed to be suffering with the choices she had to make you see before wiene had even appeared bell and iza's conversation had devolved into a shouting match ice was yelling at him to move and bell would just continuously refuse it was the most emotion that we were ever supposed to see from eyes she really did regret having to do what she was doing but that regret quickly turned to resolve when rene appeared shortly after the appearance of this monster made eyes speak with words that were filled with hatred and rejection the whole thing just brought out the darkest parts of ize's character it was as if she was a completely different person now and bell just couldn't figure out what was causing it now the rest of this scene was pretty much the same and since the next ones bring us to the climax of this arc i figure it's best to talk about it in episode 12. so you can expect that one to come out over the next couple of days but anyway as
