Behind the Read: The Funeral Organist | Long Island Medium

my name is Rene from overhead I'm a music director at a church and I ended up getting a private reading from Theresa being that I'm a church organist and I play so many funerals you know I was kind of like oh boy listen to come through like I may not know who you are is I do the funerals for like all these people in like a great job I find it interesting that Rene is a funeral organist Rene Therese nicely hey we're all just trying to make our loved ones feel better I do it with the voice of spirit Rene does it through music who's the young person that passed that your son at their funeral my friend the injury so please know that he's stepping forward drew and I were friends uh since you know we were little and the church where I work at I sang there and he was an altar boy so I know him since since we once I have this picture of drew here um his mom gave it to me and um every time I play I feel like he's always with me so his mom is also a parishioner here and one time it was 917 which is his birthday and at that exact same moment I have goosebumps at that exact moment I met eyes with this mom that was sitting across there so um he's always telling me that he's here with me did you write a song about him I did I did he showed me you wrote something in memory of him uh-huh folded it up held it close to my heart but then I saw music notes all around every time I wrote something he would be the first hi yeah I wrote a song I need you to like common would get my car I mean joy because nothing is like you know after you makes a song to listen to it in your car that's the ultimate task but of course you can't listen to something just once so I was like oh let's listen to it again listen to again and then it became like oh you're punished like now you have to do it again that was our thing well what happened with the head because my head is like I feel like my head is in a vise he was in a car accident hit a tree do you feel that if you were there that he wouldn't have died yeah because he says I don't need her to carry the survivor's guilt yeah I had been thinking about it obviously you know she picked up on that she tapped into you know these these questions that I had and you know just even addressing it um if help me put that to the side and be able to move on from you know wandering spirit is very quick to remind us that that might not always just be the other side of the coin that the what if might not be that they would still be here for example what if she did pick him up that night and drove him and they were in a car accident he still would have departed and maybe she would have been paralyzed or if she was driving how much stronger would that burden of guilt been it was a pleasure meeting so nice to me even to you think at the end of the day what was important to me was that on the other side he's okay cuz I don't want to like obsess about you know what happened and oh if this then then maybe this wouldn't happen and this you can't you can't do that you just gotta just find peace with it when I get there I'll I'll ask him if I'm still curious at that time you
