hey group how can our out here in the force today and we've come across something just a little bit different something that we usually don't mess with here on this channel those being wild edible mushrooms I'll show you what we found I'm gonna go ahead and make a meal out of it so we have a few more ingredients to pull namely protein I'm kicked over a few logs though out here so I think I've spotted something but yeah let's go get it all gathered up and get to cooking here we are these are Polly pours they kind of look like oyster mushrooms so a big patch of them right there there's more down there they're edible they taste alright they're not the best ones and they're ready to pick right now that's what we're going after now it's extremely important to make sure that you are identifying things correctly because on the same log check that out sauce comparison these are called dead man's fingers kind of gives it away some people actually eat them but they said they taste pretty bad so you need to be real careful about what you're going after and making sure that you don't make a fatal mistake let's go ahead and collect these up beautiful beautiful mushrooms I've got the other side they're very different but that's our first ingredient look at that not pretty it's pretty light maybe a quarter pound beautiful I saw that a piece that was nestled down between the two pieces in the crook check that out so that is piece of the poly for with a piece of the dead man's fingers drawing off of it I think that's a small enough piece where I can go ahead and leave that be a little bit more right here and that'll do us wrap this up go up on some more any realer that's what we're looking for lots of these these are briar vine tips now briar vines are pretty mean they're kind of like nature's barbed wire but on the tips of them and spring and summer they've got a secret so let me pull it down and out here at the very end now we're gonna want to collect quite a few of these most of these vine tips are going to have a bit of fresh on alright here's another one again pretty simple pull up till it pops off and they taste like green beans a lot of the vine tips especially around browsing level like this right here already nibbled off so it's a regular food for the deer everything else out there but awesome awesome food eat it raw - but steamed excellent few big ones like this pick about a handful of these and then Tom start cookin [Music] all right got that started up today's run a little bit long it was 111 degrees here in the shade so it's a bit hot last ingredient here is a bit of chupacabra seasoning so a bit of a cheat be prepared got everything just about ready let the fire burn down a little bit it's pretty good meal [Music] [Music] let me break these up a little bit like an easier to cook hot day hot fire meal will be worth it though all right well this sounds and smells done most of these meals I like to use a lot of wild diner it's just not the year for that pigs got it and the weather's been strange nature's always in flux come on up come and taste this let's go my sitting log has fallen apart any new one come on puppy got a scratch so this is I imagine our I believe June bug beetle grub again this is polypore mushrooms and Brabant tips so pretty good meal right here with a little bit of again chupacabra seasonings come on up come over here I got a piece for you mushrooms I tried okay smells good no he gave it a taste that off the side for him that was the mushroom here is one of our grubs hot you want this I'll go wearing deck huckleberry here okay okay it's just not gonna have it that's the grub probably go ahead and eat that one and a little bit of the bribe on tip again these are like green bean asparagus like raw they really do taste just like green beans which usually eats okay supplies you're driving nuts I have to agree all right so this is what a lot of you have been waiting for is for me to eat this stuff and tell you what it tastes like ideally my choice go fishing got a creek full of fish crawdads all kinds of stuff out there in the river clams things like that there are a lot of different protein sources in the world but survival is not about what's ideal it's about taking advantage of opportunities that avail themselves so again no onions so I have barb on tips everything has its phase know how to collect lots of food you can be the best deer hunter in the world it's not gonna help you when you run out of here right so what happen like cheese woody cheese that's the grub what do you choose nothing like what you'd imagine a gravity probe on tip exactly like green beans with a chupacabra seasoning taste just like what you'd have at Thanksgiving lastly the poly for mmm I had to vote about as closer you can get to something tasting like beef jerky without without having meat beef jerky a little bit of mush for me tastes amazing these raw had a bit of an after bite cooked no aftertaste at all just tastes like sauteed pork belly just not as juicy yeah one more of these just to make sure they all understand I'm eating them so hmm I apologize for the Flies guys those are a new arrival welcome to South Texas in the summertime they're not really around in the heat of the day but once the Sun Goes Down the outcome about all right that's the meal I'm not gonna waste a this have a few people back in the main camp that are gonna want to try this to keep the flies off one more time that's right okay it's not happening not happen at all group hopefully I'll enjoy this video and y'all learn a bit it's getting hot out here we have a lot of plans coming up check back on the channel regularly I've got a lot of projects coming out and it's a really really cool stuff coming up thank you all to the patreon so thank you all to those that are commenting out there liking subscribing sharing all that good stuff we appreciate everything you do to support this channel and allow us to do this out here so guys thank y'all again make sure that you're being legal and ethical loud the outdoors support the scouts and as always until next time let's go up a group it is now the next day this is a follow up for those of you that might have been concerned as to my well-being all's well no ill effects everything's alright now that being said typically when it comes to survival situations and mushrooms mycology fungi I typically tell people to steer clear don't chance it don't mess with it unless you are a hundred percent sure of what you're looking at if you're not an expert if you're not a professional person that goes out there and picks these things and knows what they're talking about it is not worth the risk most of all situations the human body can survive about thirty days without food you can starve very very slowly and that's assuming that you don't engage your brain that gray matter up there to find yourself some more calories during that 30 days that'll extend out that time period you can do that and you can take a step back and think your way through a survival situation or in a moment of weakness or hunger you can shove a bunch of unfamiliar mushrooms in your mouth and die a very quick and painful death so be careful there's a lot of look-alikes out there there's a lot of rhymes and riddles that will steer you in the wrong direction one little mistake really not worth it when it comes down to it so be careful out there in the outdoors now aside from mushrooms beetle grubs eat all of them if you want or use them as bait they're pretty good to go the other things that you see out here that I Forge I give you all kinds of rules and show you what's going on I think the general direction is just make sure that you are positively I doing anything that you choose to put in your mouth always and if you're not sure take a step back find a different way all right it's just not worth it don't gamble with your life for those of you that have been longtime subscribers as well as the folks that are new here to the channel hopefully I'll have already found my side channel barely survival if you have not done so check it out I'll put a link down in the description below this video I've got some updates on there and within the next week or so I'll start doing live streams so every week week and a half I'll get on there answer questions I want to be able to talk to the community see what y'all think about things keep y'all updated and tell you what's going on in the world also giving some love after the patreon y'all know who you are as well as a few folks that have found me on PayPal and said a few bills my way it really really helps out I really really helps out out here so thank you all for helping us out and allowing us to do this out here in these remote areas we'll keep on doing it there's a lot of cool things coming up I have some absolutely spectacular stuff down the pipe that I can't talk about just yet and a few things that I'll be unveiling on the side channel again barely survival within a couple days so a few things that have never been never been accessible by the general public yet or before so some opportunities that are going to be pretty amazing that I'm excited about so again subscribe hit that bell on that icon and y'all see on the on the live streams and I'll get you all some information but thank you all for watching through this I'm heating up my brains not working in the heat very well so I start to stumble over my words so I'm gonna find a cool place and I hope everybody's doing all right out there take care and as always until next time [Music] [Music] [Music]
