Beefalo taming is seriously good it can transform the weakest character in the game into one of the most productive members of the entire team taming them isn't difficult at all I actually made a video on how to do this a while ago and since then it's only gotten easier it comes as a surprise to me that from what I see I'd say most DST players don't tame B flow and this isn't limited to just brand new players surprised that even many experienced players don't tame Beefalo but then I remember that I also didn't tame them for most of my DST experience so for those who have never tamed beeflo or are wondering if it's worth it or not stick around as I go over the reasons why beef flow taming is seriously op the first reason and really the main reason why everyone should obtain Beefalo is for their speed speed is probably the most important stat in the game while characters can increase their attack and defensive Power by the use of many different items there are only a small amount of items that can increase player speed it's so important that the walking cane is easily the most coveted item in any public server speed is so important that only a few characters have unique abilities that can increase their movement speed unless you are really lucky the most valuable item in public servers only becomes accessible at the start of winter and it will give you a 25 speed boost now contrast that to Beefalo which are available from day one which grants its Rider a 63 speed boost it doesn't matter if your Beefalo just started taming or is fully tamed as long as it's not a fully tamed pudgy Beefalo and you are using the normal saddle while you are riding your Beefalo you are granted a 63 movement speed increase which is just insane to put this into perspective using a walking cane while running on a road will give you slightly less than a 63 speed increase so riding a Beefalo lets you move as fast as if you had a walking cane and the entire map was just Cobblestone terrain and all of this is available from pretty much day one the fact that it's available so early really needs to be highlighted probably your main objective in the early game is to explore the map when you first spawn in the entire map is unexplored so you'll be spending a lot of your time traveling to see where all the resources are at and where you should set up base being able to fly around the map at 163 movement speed makes this task just way easier so it's perfect for early game exploring but that's not all since your movement speed is so high you can pretty much just outrun any mob in the entire game before I started taming Beefalo if I were attacked by hounds nightmare creatures death worms bunny men spider Warriors or anything that wasn't way slower than me I pretty much had to make sure that I could just outright kill them or know of a wormhole that was nearby so I could just teleport away however with Beefalo you're so fast that you can just straight up run away from any of these guys which not only makes exploring a lot safer but also a lot faster since you can just ignore all your problems and keep on running the only mod that you probably won't be able to outrun will be hounds since they have a movement speed 66 percent faster than the default player finally their movement speed allows you to easily kite most of the mobs in the game cutting deer clops has already made a lot easier since its attack range got nerfed fighting it with a Beefalo makes it ridiculously easy against dragonfly not only is kiting easier but you're so fast that it opens up new strategies such as attacking the dragonfly while she is spawning Lobby you're so fast that you technically don't even need a pan flute against her since if she enrages you can simply outrun her until she calms down the class fight is made really easy because you can outright Dodge everything in Phase 2 and you can easily get out of the ice spell before it is cast finally against the shadow chess pieces you're going to be moving fast enough to beat the level 3 Shadow Rook without taking any damage because you're moving fast enough to dodge his teleport so there are a bunch of reasons why B flow taming is so good but speed is easily the best if you really want to see the difference just try it out on a server where other players aren't using B flow and you'll immediately notice the huge difference it makes I have to say there is one downside to the speed though if you ever go back to trying to explore on foot with default speed you're definitely going to feel the difference so don't be surprised if you get a little frustrated at how slow your character moves the main reason Beefalo are so good is because they give you super speed super early however I'd say the next reason they are so good is somewhat a close second and that is that they are really good Shields if you're a new player you'll probably be running around all the time without any armor so there's a good chance you'll die to something dumb like hounds or a surprise tentacle if you're a more advanced player you'll probably always have either a football helmet or a battle Helm on each offers a respectable 80 reduction of incoming damage so if your character has 150 HP wearing a football helmet effectively gives you 750 HP that's assuming your football helmet has infinite durability which isn't true at all as each helmet can only absorb 315 points of damage before it breaks so if you're constantly taking damage you're going to have to find the resources to both restore your health and craft football helmets with Beefalo that problem is pretty much non-existent unlike football helmets B flow will absorb 100 of all non-projectile damage which means as long as your B flow doesn't die you don't have to ever worry about healing from anything except for rare damaged sources like Bishops and spitters football helmets will break after absorbing 315 damage B flow have a thousand HP which means they can block over triple the amount of a football helmet the biggest difference between Beefalo and traditional armor is that not only can Beefalo heal from eating foods but they also naturally regenerate health over time Buffalo experience quadrupled the health benefits of any item that they eat so flour salad which normally heals 40 HP will heal your Beefalo 160 HP however unless you are fighting bosses you will probably never need to go out of your way to heal your Beefalo since they also passively heal 7 HP every 10 seconds 7 HP every 10 seconds translates to 336 free HP per day which means you're basically getting a free football helmet's worth of HP every single day because of this regeneration coupled with the fact that Beefalo block 100 of damage you are able to pick both Cactus and spiky bushes with zero consequences this is a huge deal for two reasons one is that if you are ever playing with other people particularly on a public server you'll pretty much never have to worry about not having food or not having enough Twigs since no one ever harvests those resources since they damage the player the second reason it's a huge deal is that like saplings spiky bushes can be dug up and replanted at your base however unlike saplings spiky bushes will grow during winter and summer so not only will you have a source of Twigs that none of your teammates will touch but you'll have one that will be available to you year round probably the best thing about Beefalo is blocking 100 of incoming damage is that allows you to wear head and chest slot armor that have special effects without decreasing the durability of armor when you are hit for example the B queen crown has the amazing special ability that converts negative semi-aras into positive ones which makes fighting things like deer clubs way easier since you actually gain tons of Sanity during the fight rather than losing it unfortunately the crown is also a type of armor so if you get hit during the fight it loses durability and will eventually be destroyed once it reaches zero percent however if you are fighting using a Beefalo the crown never loses durability since the Beefalo absorbs 100 of the incoming damage so as long as you fight while riding a Beefalo you can get the benefits of the crown forever the same is true for Scaled Armor skilled armor has two abilities one is that it sets anything that hits the player on fire the other is that it makes the player immune to fire damage if you're riding the Beefalo all incoming damage is hitting the Beefalo rather than the player so the armor won't be setting anything on fire however both the player and the Beefalo benefit from the Armor's fire immunity this means you essentially can do things only Willow could do such as standing in the middle of fire without taking any damage or light yourself on fire with lava pits I find the skilled armor really helpful if you have a Vargo Farm set up and you're trying to kill lots of red hounds since you're immune to fire not only does it basically turn red hounds into weaker versions of normal hounds but the fire will also damage and panic the normal ones that spawn making fighting them way easier finally in my opinion the item that really becomes amazing when you have a tamed Beefalo is the bone helm you get the bone Helm after beating the ancient fuel Weaver while wearing the bone Helm the player will immediately go insane nightmare creatures will spawn around them at a much higher rate than normal but they will all be passive that is of course unless the player attacks them then all the nightmare creatures will become aggressive like the B queen crown the bone Helm has durability so you don't want to use it all the time during combat because it will eventually break that is of course unless you're riding a Beefalo the reason wearing a bone Helm while riding a Beefalo is so amazing is that it lets you fight Shadow creatures whenever you want and at zero cost without breaking the helm the Beefalo super speed makes kiting Shadow creatures really easy and allows you to run away if things get bad it's a hundred percent damage absorption means you don't have to worry about your bone Helm getting damaged and it's 1000 HP plus passive regeneration means you can't afford to get hit tons of times before having to take off the bone Helm and run away if you're really good at kiting meaning you're not taking a lot of hits the passive regeneration is enough to let you fight nightmare creatures indefinitely being able to fight nightmare creatures at any time on demand and with zero cost means that you can not only get tons of nightmare fuel whenever you feel like it but you can also max out your sanity whenever you feel like it since your sanity will increase every time you kill a nightmare creature so to summarize a bone Helm on a Beefalo effectively gives you access to unlimited nightmare Fuel and Sanity anywhere at any time at zero cost so if you wanted to look at Beefalo purely through the lens of its defensive ability it's basically a far superior eye mask that has more than tripled the durability regenerates over 300 HP per day restores durability by quadruple any vegetarian dish that is fed to it and blocks 100 of incoming damage instead of 80 percent so that's reason number two beeflo are an incredibly good Shield the next reason why Beefalo are so op is the other side of that coin they are good weapons the spear is probably the first dedicated melee weapon that the player has access to and it's okay for early game combat the only issue is that it's a little expensive for what it does and it has durability which means it'll eventually break B flow deal the same amount of damage as the spear except unlike the spear they have no durability so you can attack as many times as you want so from the first day of taming you have access to basically a spear with infinite durability now you might say that a hambat is pretty much a straight upgrade to this because not only does it have infinite durability but it starts off dealing almost double the damage of a spear and gradually decreases to the same damage sure that's true however not only does the handbat require resources and eventually will spoil but the best thing about using v-flo as a weapon is that it doesn't take up your hand slot typically if you're fighting something in the dark you have to set up a fire drop a lantern or wear body armor and a headlamp so that you can see fight and be protected all at the same time since the Beefalo functions as both your armor your weapon and doesn't use any of your equipment slots you can go into any fight without dropping anything and by holding just a lantern plus a spear with infinite durability is more than adequate for early game fights and if you're planning on using your Beefalo for fights later it basically becomes a tentacle Spike with infinite durability once it fully tames as an ornery if you find and kill an ewokis your ornery Beefalo finally surpasses the hambat by becoming essentially a dark sword with infinite durability using your B flow as a weapon really saves you on Resources with almost every character but they really shine when used by characters with lower damage modifiers such as Wes and Wendy Wes only deals 51 damage with a Dark Sword so a fully tamed ornery B flow with a regular saddle is already a dark sword with infinite durability for Wes slap on a war saddle and Wes is dealing far more damage than he's capable of doing with any of the melee weapons that are available to him when Wendy uses Beefalo to fight things get ridiculous like Wes Wendy has a damage modifier of 0.75 so she does 25 less damage so instead of a Dark Sword dealing 68 damage per hit it deals 51 in the hands of Wendy however if she's attacking the same Target as Abigail her weakened attacks get a 54 damage increase meaning her 51 damage per hit using a Dark Sword gets boosted to 78.5 the same thing happens when Wendy attacks with a Beefalo except beefalo's attacks don't suffer from Wendy's 0.75 damage modifier this means that the 34 damage that normal Beefalo deal gets boosted to 52 damage when Wendy is attacking the same Target as Abigail so instead of a spear with infinite durability Wendy gets a tentacle Spike with infinite durability as soon as she starts taming the Beefalo if Wendy fully teams an ornery B flu the beefalo's 50 damage per hit gets boosted to 77 damage per hit meaning she's hitting almost as hard as young Wanda add a war saddle to the ornery Beefalo and its 66 damage per hit gets boosted to 101 damage meaning she is dealing slightly more damage than middle-aged Wanda if you add Abigail's Knight damage into the mix Wendy while riding an ordinary Beefalo deals Wolfgang level damage making her one of the only characters who can outright stun dragonfly on her own so Beefalo are good weapons providing all characters a spear tentacle Spike or dark sword with infinite durability while not taking up a weapon slot when you combine all that together riding a Beefalo even before it's fully tamed gives the player a super fast movement speed a super strong regenerating Shield that blocks 100 of damage and a decent weapon with infinite durability it's the equivalent of using a walking cane on a road while wearing the super eye mask that we talked about earlier while wielding a spear with infinite durability you can get all that by day five if you simply decide to tame a Beefalo because of the speed armor and decent weapon it gives you taming a Beefalo makes exploring and adventuring in your first Autumn just way more enjoyable than doing everything on foot in the later game you can get things like glossom or saddle that can boost its speed to almost 200 percent if it's a rider and the war saddle that gives every character an infinite Dark Sword and of course if you're Wendy you essentially become Wolfgang plus a ghost sister that deals area of effect damage and that is why Beefalo taming is really really good that's it for the video thanks for watching take care everybody and have a great day
