good morning folks JTP here we are in June of 2020 as you can see we have a brick wall that his bees in it came out the other day and shot them with my thermal image and we'll do that today simply can get a reading but the riemann i got there today was showing that this thing is sizable right now we hear bees coming on up a little pulling the motor here and here and they're spread out up here we're gonna try to get these beads out of here today and give them a better home than what they're in right now not that this isn't a good home but the homeowner you know doesn't want them here okay and there's big strip of grass here sooner or later somebody's probably gonna get stung by these beads when they're cutting the grass bees don't have ears okay but they do pick up on vibrations and sooner or later the odds are there that someone either cutting the grass and working a weed here will get stung by so anyway that's what we got planned today I sure hope y'all enjoyed the video all right we got the thermal can outfit so we got some yellow yes see how this is coming in but and then it kind of stops over here it's a well we still have yellow so yeah hypothetically I mean we're gonna get some heat transfer because this is brick but from here so that's where that post a little bit past that post - all the way to looks like about maybe here Wow so that's that's a good maybe four and a half feet okay so we'll see folks we'll see what we got today but someone asked me what type of smoke a few like you about the last couple of years I guess I've been using for a lap I've used pine needles before and also hey all three of very good smoker fuels [Applause] so no she didn't get me one to my face as you can see she got me on my hand so I'm smoking that spot to mask any along pheromones that would cause other bees that's fine [Music] give you a quick little bird's-eye view here not gonna lie folks quite a lot of effort to remove this one brick this is not an easy task to tell the board of dust they are making progress not quite as fast as when we'd like this to go but we all making progress usually when you're removing bricks once you've got a brick or two out it's like a domino effect usually and things start going smoothly but this particular wall wasn't like this at all I had to painstakingly remove mortar and brick by brick it was a real task Mike rely but bees but for the most part were pretty gentle just got pop there as you can see actually I don't think that was pop right there was just a close call they all things considered not have with a suit up think I'm buddy used available one one time during this process this initial process and then you know bees kind of calmed down and we got it done nothing like a little smoke bath they were down and remove any scent that the beasts may find disagreeable hey folks Oh back on his job and as you can see we got beads okay in a break wall the other day I opened the wall it took over three hours to remove I don't know maybe forty five bricks I never counted it was a good many bricks and expose the hive and we had some morning dust you know that's what's what happens when you open a plaster wall cinderblock wall or a brick wall you have more to dust plaster dust but what was nice is there's a hose not too far from here and was able to wet everything down clean off the combs and the bees were able to get back to normal what happened when I was taking the bricks all out they ran behind the first comb layer and you couldn't see all these bees alright you could not see this which you could say is a little grow across the top right it may be like maybe a foot half across and maybe from the top down and oh maybe I don't four and a half inches of these so when I came on back this evening take a look at this and we saw all these bees and I wasn't entirely surprised but I was a little bit surprised one entirely surprised because I've seen a little bit everything over the years dealing with these they never cease to amaze and surprise you so and I always tell people expect the unexpected you won't be completely blown away about what they were capable of building and this is no exception so you know the homeowners dad said that he thinks the bees have been here three or four weeks and homeowners said probably more like at least a year going with what the homeowner said this is definitely something that's been here a while okay and from here to about here there's some old dark comb and that's in the indicative of something that's been there a while okay new stuff on the outside of the brood nest which is this is the brood nest so I would say that this hive is pretty well organized can I that's the way I look at you know brood nest in the middle honeycomb on either side of the brood nest all right all the real hard stuff is done I'm sitting down on the ground not too often I get that opportunity that see on the ground and remove a beehive you know seem to always be up on matters and stuff like that heck I've rented lifts before you know we're 67 foot lifts where I'm you know way the heck up off the ground we could believe in not because those bees will bother somebody and and they had to go so I had a rental 67 foot lift then we here we are let's get right to it all right look at the amount of bees on the comb sections folks yes we using the bee vac believe it or not a lot of people comment well why don't you use a bee vac it would just be so much easier well actually do use it be back routinely but I usually don't use the bee vac when I know maybe videoing and removal so that that can give you guys commentary so y'all don't like the sound of the bee vac a lot of people don't like music in the ports when you would normally hear a bee back so I thought we try lose something different today and let's do some voiceover so what do you prefer one of your music you won't have a bee vac voiceover hey as always I welcome your feedback folks appreciate it it's always a pleasure when you're dealing with these that are pretty gentle folks makes it a lot easier especially when it's warm out which brings up another subject people often ask me why don't you wear protection so it's not that I'm a lunatic or anything crazy like that just that I'm more comfortable working teens without protective equipment when it's really warm up these are really aggressive you'll see me soon [Music] yeah maybe you could have been a raccoon opossum well we got critters folks all right how about a little close up for you start to see some of that dog boot go male see it's the mom the bees impressive you know at least a couple inches thick when I left the other day you know a lot of the bees in the process of removing the bricks they went on the backside of that first layer in whoo and I came back it was you know quite a surprising sight to see the amount of bees that were present didn't really realize that this hive had this amount of beings is it unusual that the bees actually ran on the backside of that first layer code not really for move beads on a cinder block walls what they actually went to the Jason chambers which were devoid of more dust and stuff like that just uh another testament to how intelligent these little critters really are [Music] more light we're gonna feed most of this back to the bees and we really wouldn't want to eat this pieces of boring stuff honeycomb there so we'll just feed this bees don't mind us this time to bother them [Music] so you want to be careful that you know vacuum too much honey you don't want your money coating inside no we it's going to happen but you want to keep that too bad because the honey inside the hose it's horrible bees they're going down to catch mine so you want to keep that to a bare minimum if at all possible you know you might be look at this wall and noticing that the wire packing my hands that is wiring for electrical sockets that on the backside of the brick wall and you might think well it's kind of weird at the Beast they were capsulated the wire but it's actually not unusual at all I've removed countless ties that had wires and pipes hoses you name it even had one it was on the porch it was kind of an open-air colony they encapsulated 8 inches of the more and more handle in the hide and so to remove that hive I had to cut the Baltimore handle outer thought the comb that was first thing you had it being removed behind so they don't really care what's in the void space of just you know build around and capsule a pebbles in there yeah they just made really just don't cancel it just assume just go for it do what needs to be done [Music] [Music] so here I'm applying a heavy dose of smoke sometimes it's just faster to get the means to move off film sections with smoke rather than a vacuum every be off the film section you trying to pull [Music] [Music] it's a bit of a messy job but somebody's got to do it right folks well as you can see we're making really good progress at this point almost got all the honeycomb out on the left side the brood nest is moving right along and you can see I'm using the hive tool to get those bits of comb that I'm kind of hard to get to right up on the Neath the underside of that and ledge this one was I given to me by my good buddy yeah beanie man check out a yuki-chan folks the same channel name yeah PB man all right so we've removed all the honeycomb from the left side of the beehive and now it's time to tackle the honeycomb that's to the right of the blue vest and then we'll tackle the blue nest we'll go ahead and move whatever cone we can out of the end frame something off the place in our nuke [Music] [Applause] [Music] hello [Applause] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] all right folks this is we have left basically the brood nest a little bit of honey so vacuums up a good bed of bees my Sethu is up in just a little bit and then I'll come back early in the morning and try to finish this and get the Queen and join these up with the other bees so uh that is it for now it's the Sun is going to answer this like maybe 20 minutes left the dark I mean light so I could probably push it and wear headlamp and all that stuff but and finish this but we won't get very good light for filming and I live a couple of miles from here so I'll come back in the morning and it's been a long day this side right here you know good better come you know honey and then so that's our this row you know this whole thing was seven feet a little more than seven feet across I've measured it the other day and this area he is about to be three and a half feet maybe two feet here so I guess that's about right we got a couple of feet left something like that so uh that's it for now get ready for port 2 or 3 I forget which all right all right folks come back get this done woke up to a lot of rain today wanted to get an early start but send the rain which is pretty pretty severe we got these cover and comb we're gonna see what we can use some of it so let's get started perfect [Music] all right his brood at the table when this Pony of that you got the car in the B hey buddy being Middleton Jameel corporate to be trying to forget some of this mortar dust still a little bit on the air fellas like that that's it coffered to be in there oh well yeah all righty folks I think what we're gonna do now is we're gonna try to run the beads up see if we can get him to go on come on Duke let me use some honeybee going just kind of try to run him up we got a little March going folks and what I wanted Queeny good bit of these so to believe that I vacuumed about probably out of seven pounds of bees yesterday folks you know it's like twenty one thousand bees all right and we still have I'd say two and a half pounds of bees here maybe somewhere in there we've even it was like two pounds of these twenty-seven beast and his paladin so they just shy of thirty thousand beats got a few definitely all right from college it's a minute a little bit more honey bee go mingle more smell see if we can find a queen [Music] great yes sir and she looked fine why'd you go we kind of fell in food shoes we got it there she is first oh I'm so glad we got her I like these bees and that's a bunch of them yeah go to all that work and you really won't do want to get your queen so I'm glad something didn't happen to us concern for a minute there you know fantastic perfect okay okay well that's gonna do it for this one folks hope y'all enjoyed it now going from Dave to the B van I hope y'all having a fantastic day cuz I sure AM L into the next one I'll take care getting involved alright folks we're gonna go ahead and transfer the beads into a larger setup give them more space so we're gonna give them a little smoke just to keep them honest these beads are very chill folks so not only will these be gentle folks but they were pretty dang doctors as well they had it going onto that brick wall am I gonna live folks you know so another reason why we want to get these beads into a larger setup is it's very hot right now it's gonna only get warmer as summer progresses so they can definitely use the extra room their numbers are gonna grow they may not make a bunch of extra cone because Oh we'll get to the point where no next Ekta flow wouldn't be too late September that would be from the Golden Lane pries Queens on this frame right here you can see the tube rubber bands so I'm gonna go ahead and pull off and put her aside we'll go ahead and we'll release her at the entrance just a minute so but having a lot of people ask me about the Queen captures that I use these stainless ones because I call them hair clip Queen catches could they look like woman's hair clip but I get them from Dave ant out of Paris Texas I'm gonna put that frame back there's so many bees on that I want to grab those rubber bands and just pull them out something to take my hive tool use it like kind of like a knife just cut right through them and that'll pop them then you can grab the rubber bands and pull them I'll you can let the bees move them out in a beach going in there and home the rubber bands out with that amount of bees on that frame so this makes it a lot easier you know it's not the end of the world if you leave the rubber bands in place the bees will likely chew them and push them up but why not give them a helping hand when you can't alright folks well it's almost Showtime we're about to release the Queen from the entrance to the hive [Music] big one how to get that or not she's in the middle big nice and comfy at the top alright let's go ahead release it later go right name will let others run over [Music] great feeling she's released that's how you do that all right hope y'all enjoyed this video another one from JP the bee man who became the faintest they have bases you know I do that they get great day orientation time
