Beautiful Horse Trailer Home on Wheels

in this video we get to tour a horse trailer that's been turned into a tiny home on wheels felisa is a custom furniture builder and you can tell that she had a lot of fun putting this trailer together the trailer features a murphy bed a huge kitchen with an rv oven and a really big bathroom with a very unique shower pan [Music] hi i am felisa i am the owner of benton custom home furnishings i started my company in 2007 building custom furniture for homes and then i wanted to join the tiny house movement and so about three years ago i purchased this empty brand new horse trailer that i knew it was structurally sound so i started with a very empty horse trailer and the first thing i did was close off the windows uh with a plexiglass and so that i could start building on the inside i left the rubber floor that the horses would have been on i left it intact to give it the additional insulation and support and then i put a 12 mil luxury vinyl plank on top of it i wanted to make sure i had a good kitchen i had a big bathroom and i had a great place to sleep and so with that i will introduce you to my horse trailer this is what the trailer looked like when i purchased it so it was basically a stock trailer for a horse trailer at a slant these are the stalls that were inside of it this is how i closed off the windows from that to this this is actually how i started my company in 2007 by building murphy beds so i knew that that was the first thing that actually i pretty much built that around the murphy bed i knew a murphy bed was going in there so uh everything else was like okay there's a go here and there's no here but this murphy bed was the first thing that i knew was going in because i wanted to make sure that i had a full-size bed and so this is a full full size bed not an rv pool um and i upgrade this is actually mattress that i had a mattress company to cut a mattress in half to make the so it's comfortable during the day again this is how i want to roll so even though it's for a show i do camp in it if i want to go camping but a lot of this has been for doing the home shows i just take these pillows place them there for now and i just put these two cushions on top she just converted from the couch to the bed yeah and there's a bit two seconds yeah that was awesome so and i have a shelf in the back that stays in place this is a full kitchen this is bigger than what you would probably see in most uh tiny homes because i wanted to make sure that i had a stove in an oven i wanted to have prep space on left and right and i wanted to have prep space over by the sink area as well this product that is on my countertop is actually concrete it's just a thin layer of concrete on top of wood and i actually have concrete stain on top of that and so it's got a concrete stain and then it's in a water-based acrylic concrete sealer so that it gives you structural you know integrity and you scratch resistant and everything so this thing's i travel all over the country attending the shows and as you can tell this thing holds up great so i put in the rv stove with an oven this runs 100 off of propane and works great and i have my self-venting uh vent and i also have an air vent at the top uh to give additional venting if i'm you know when i'm cooking uh i've got different types of cabinetry here because i uh since it's a show trailer i wanted to show natural wood i wanted to show a lamination of wood i wanted to show painted wood so you see like all different types of cabinet finishes right now i am completely off grid i'm on solar and i have 600 watts of solar on top i have 300 lithium batteries in in this area here with a 4 000 watt inverter so this completely is running upgrade right now but i do easily connect to sure power on the other side so if i'm at a campsite i just plug in and then i'm able to run my ac uh much longer than i can run it now because i don't have enough solar panels on top so as you can tell i have a lot of cabinetry this is my air conditioner this is kind of my kitchen utensils area and i wanted to have a a great sink area so i've got an area on the left and a small area on the right this is a 12 inch actual deep sink so this sink is very deep so entering the bathroom i wanted to make sure it was a private space so this is a double baffled door so basically you take this off and then this gives you your privacy in the bathroom so here's my flushing toilet my storage i've got a shower my my trough is my shower so i have a horse trough as my shower so you can stand in it and then you wrap this around and you take a shower this is my hot water on demand this runs all of my hard water uh to my sinks my shower so as soon as you turn it on you have hot water and it has temperature controls on how much gas you want as well as how much of heat so it makes it really easy and it's very economical i mean this thing is great it uses very little propane this is my 25 gallon fresh water tank this is a vertical unit which is you don't usually see that um but this is a vertical unit corner so it goes right in the corner it is held up by the metal um metal base i've got my water pump behind it so it runs all of my water there is an outdoor shower as well in there this is basically a horse trailer that i bought stock it's a four horse trailer for thoroughbred horses who are taller each thoroughbred horse weighs anywhere from a thousand fifteen hundred pounds this can hold for them so structurally this thing is solid um right now with everything that i just put into it um weighs seven thousand pounds the trailer capacity is ten thousand so this still is structurally sound and this runs great uh down the road so it's perfect this is my outdoor shower um this is the inlet for my uh water for my water paint and this is just an outdoor plug i left this originally was a tack room and the metal wall was all the way across so i cut it out as you saw earlier to to go and make it more open so you walk right into the bathroom and then i did the bifo doors as you know the closure for it um this originally came with the trailer so this is what a normal tack room for a horse
