[Music] hi welcome to my channel reading waves I'm Patti today I'm going to make a video about how I organize my tasks cards for kindergarten I went to Michael's this summer and I purchase the rainbow box all the little photo cases that come in these bright beautiful colors a lot of teachers have less in their classroom and they organize all their task cards I'm going to show you how I'm going to do it this year and I'm going to be doing it a little bit differently than what you might have already seen so stay tuned that my containers at Michaels I bought them when they were 50% off because I was not gonna pay full price never pay full price sign up for Michael's they will send you an email let you know when they're having their sales so I decided to take the colors and I made them I put them like this so I have orange pink and purple and then I've yellow breeding blue or aqua and blue on the other side so I'm going to be using one side for math and one side for phonics and then I thought you know what I'm going to do even better and I'm going to take the two boxes I'm going to combine them together so this is what my boxes will look like and one of my boxes I have the orange the pink and the purple together and I'm going to label this as my phonics box so I'm going to tape it to the front of the box as you can see like that and what I'm going to do is I'm going to put all any task cards in the purple and the pink and the orange for phonics so when the kids are working at center time I can kind of just look around and know what task card they're using okay the other one I'm going to have is going to be the yellow the green the blue or the Aqua and the blue and I'm going to label this one as my math one if a child if a student has one of these Pass card boxes out then I know that they are working on math skills the other thing that I did because I made my own individual task card covers for my boxes so that way all of them will be the same if you would like this let me know leave a comment down below and I can put these in my TPT store edition safe identification for products i have letter ID rhyming work hard then what i do is i have the word cards and i have the task cards in the little boxes and then as they go and use them they will open them up they will use them and I like using but clothes pins because I feel that's really good for them to use with fine motor now I'm gonna show you an example of that break in here is the phonics box and what a child would do know what a student would do is they would just open it up they would reach in they would grab one this one says a letter identification and then you just open it up you can they would take it over to the table and they would open it up and inside i have letter ID so they would take a close pen i really like using these because these are great for fine motor and then they would just find the letter they would clip it on and then they would go on to the next card so they could do this individually they could do this with pairs they could do it you know partners group work however they want to do it they can just have it out as independent time and center time I would first introduce us as a small group skill and then I would let them do it independently and then when they're done they would put it back in close it up and then put it away and that is how I would use my phonics boxes here are my math task cards I have some color coordinated with the yellow the green and the blues so a student can come over and open up the case take it out take it over to the table and they will just open it up this one is called missing numbers and I'm sorry to open it with money in oh there we go and we have again the clips I love using these and this math task card is like missing numbers so they would have to look and see which number is missing one blank three and then they would just take the clothespin and they would clip it on to the number two again they can do these together in pairs and groups by themselves independently and I just really like these little clip cards I think they are really great for kids to practice different skills and this is my math box here are my two rainbow boxes I have one for phonics I have the orange and the pink and the purple and then I have the math one with the yellow the greens and the blues and I color-coordinated my task card so that way I would know what skills the students were working on during independent time I hope you like this idea I hope you're able to use it and share it out with all your other teacher friends I just showed you an example of how I plan on using either small group independent work Center work morning work however you want to use them I got a lot of my products from TPT I will leave links down below the product I showed it is an awesome little freebie I believe it's a freebie there's freebies that you can get there are paid items that you can get so TPP has a lot of resources for cash cards that you can use for all these little rainbow boxes I decided to color-coordinate mind into phonics and then into math I hope you enjoyed this video I hope this gives you some ideas on how you can use those rainbow boxes and your classrooms to organize your task cards thank you so much for watching make sure you give this video thumbs up and make sure you subscribe
