[Music] hello sweet team welcome back to my channel this is sweet ageless with this highly requested corned beef pie recipe for you all so i begin by peeling and cutting some potatoes into cubes and i'm using golden potatoes you may use any potato of your choice i'll then transfer it into my pan cover it up and cook it until it is al dente i'll get the water out and cover it and allow it cool in a separate pan i'll add my corned beef to that i'll add some chopped onions and i'll give it a good good stir and i'll cook this especially because this corned beef have a lot of oil in it and since i'm not making any type of stew i do not need all of this oil in my corned beef pie so i'll get rid of the oil place the pot back on fire and add my corned beef back i'll season it with some of my spice mix give it a stir not too much just a little bit and then i'll add in some water because it dried up from me trying to get rid of most of the oil i'll bring it back to a boil then cover it to keep it from drying then in a bowl i'll add in some flour to that some salt baking powder and i'll mix it until it is well combined i'll then add in some of this cook brand margarine and for this recipe you only need one cup now if using butter i'll leave the link to my original recipe in the comment section so do not forget to check it out in case you don't have this margarine this margarine is high in fat so we do not need a lot if you use more than i have used here it'll not work it'll be too rich and we don't want that so this is just perfect i'll then add in some evaporated milk yes suit it into your vienna i'll give it a quick mix and then i'll go ahead and add in my water when making pie crust water is highly recommended if you choose to use only milk please be sure to add enough milk to get your dough to be nice and soft without water once you place your dough or pie in the oven it's going to dry out completely and it'll end up being hard but if you hydrate it well enough you're going to have the perfect flaky or melee dough so i'll just work it into a soft dough like this without kneading too much and then i'll divide it in half wrap it in plastic wrap and allow it to rest for about 15 minutes for any gluten that may have been created to relax beautifully once ready i'll go ahead and dust my work surface and divide my dough into four equal parts it works every time for me but hey if you want to roll the entire dough and then cut it out with your pie cutter that is fine but this is how i love doing it it gives me less gluten and i have enough and i get the perfect pie okay i'll set this aside and repeat the process until it is all done [Music] back to our filling it has cooled beautifully so i'll add in my potatoes chopped onions scallions and stir it together the purpose of the potatoes is to balance out the salt content in the corned beef so i didn't add any seasoning at all to this recipe just the salt that was already in the corned beef and i didn't cook the potatoes with any salt i'll then prep my egg wash and i'm using egg whites and evaporated milk you can use the whole egg if you prefer there's no reason i just wanted to go this route all right y'all i crust check filling ready let's put this baby together put about a tablespoon in the middle of your crust brush the edges with water to help seal it flip it over and using your thumb and index finger just press to seal the sides and then we're going to use a fork to seal it completely and also make it pretty technique is to press and slide press slide do not press and lift because that may just lift a big chunk out and it will ruin your presentation trust me once you try this it'll be the only way you seal your pies once that is done i will repeat the process until all my pies are ready [Music] i'll transfer it onto my baking tray egg wash it beautifully [Music] and then using the fork i'll poke our usual holes that looks like a design but actually it helps the pies not to explode in the baking process so it is highly important that you do that we'll then transfer our pies into a 350 degree fahrenheit oven and bake it for about 20 to 30 minutes or until it is nice and golden brown please be sure not to over bake it because it'll end up being too hard and you would not enjoy it okay trust me on this one now let me break into one so y'all could see the deliciousness that's happening on the inside oh my goodness perfectly moist crust is oh my goodness totally melt in your mouth you must try this recipe because i promise you you and your guest would enjoy it oh not just your guest your whole family thank you so so much for watching i hope you enjoyed this video and i inspired to try the recipe until i see you in the next one stay safe keep loving each other and remember that the love of god and family is life's greatest blessing and guys [Music] bye [Music]
