john's throwing hand signals that i don't understand that means wait it's pretty universal that means wait that means you're good to go that means you're really good to go okay was that the delay or was that when we really started would never know i can tell you in this wow you can tell me when the delay is over there i think we missed the newscaster oh my newscaster moment i think we missed the newscaster moment that's sad that was a good moment good morning everybody we have people from all over saying where they're from and connecting with other people which is fun good good good i like fiber fairy lives because on felt alongs i'm so dizzy felt busy felting yeah i'm not i usually just sit there and then i go back and i watch and look at the comments and think oh yeah i would have said this and i would have said that i could tell you everything everyone says you tell me a lot i try yeah oh we got a pretty ladies where's your mug sarah thank you beth i like that oh i know i'm just not i just have paper with water i got tea i really wanted tea but it has to cool down so too hot oh it's too hot for tea good sounding picture nice job john that's all john all right so i um we have a smallish simple fiber fairy today we wanted to um sort of showcase the the new gray which is called wolfhound just because i thought it would be fun to make a wolf hound with it but i wish i had an opportunity to but i didn't get to um we online on the website it will be two ounce bundles but today your your bundle is one ounce so the first tier is the light gray core and the second tier is the dark gray core also announced and then the third tier is the wolf hound and it's all it's icelandic and so it has a really long uh very long staple length like five to six inches i guess and it's pretty it's pretty wiry it's 30 microns which is on the on the thicker side and it has a beautiful variation from dark gray to light gray within it so um it'll be great to blend into pelts for donkeys and wolves and owls baby owls you know for the for the wolves and baby owls especially we use you can you can and you can use any variety of gray and tan and brown like that we have so um and the tiers are 20 35 and 50. so um you know just just a just a bitty fiber fairy this time around but you know we still love engaging and um and we are planning a bigger one a big one with a felt along right so i'm really excited about that are you sharing the date on that yet um not exactly sure it might be on my birthday which is october 1st my birthday which is october 1st that's seraphina fiber art 1752b [Music] um anyway and because that just kind of works out with the timing for because we like to do the felt along three weeks later and it just puts it kind of in the right place that would be good that would be a fun one yeah yeah and an extra reason to celebrate and then you'd give everybody a gift for your birthday which makes sense that's how you that would be so that makes sense yeah that would be a good time any questions so far i doubt there's like too many questions about question about mugs we haven't ordered any more mugs yet are we out of stock i i feel like they're not online anymore okay we're gonna get more money we did get more hats and i wore my hat yesterday so now it's not here anymore but um the hats are really fun does the hound kit count if you order a hound kit it counts towards five or four yesterday yes and i just wanted to open up the questions to anything about the hound course um it's hard like when we prepare things we know everything that's going on but we want to make sure that we're conveying the right information so that you guys are informed about what's what and sometimes that's hard because we have all the you know the backstory and the behind the behind-the-scenes stuff so for example i wanted to make sure it was clear that in the hound course we're making the hound um the hound supply pack is for two hounds and step by step we're making the hound but in that i'm also making armatures for three other breeds the borzoi the dachshund and the bulldog because i felt like those gave a variety of armatures from for you to then use those length wire lengths if you want to make a different breed you could have a starting place for those and then the course also has a ton of support material for um different characteristics of um starting to look at features and proportions and all that purebred terminology so um so yeah if there's any questions about what's involved in the course happy to answer it does the course go over long coats and how to do that you know i didn't do i didn't do long coats and wrinkles um specifically so we just have so many other videos that talk about long coats and you talked about either shingling or tringling or fur which is either like the duckling shows you shingling the baby penguin show shingling the new bunny puff clearly shows for as far as you know just adding the fiber so like if i were gonna make a golden retriever i would try to pick out a core maybe like a variety of top coats or merino that kind of have the colors that i'm looking for and then some kind of long like the golden fur or um some kind of longer fiber like the um the platinum just golden retrievers can be you know almost like white blonde to almost red so you got to pick the right colors but those having the variety and the textures of the fiber is what lets you move from you know core type fiber on the face to the medium length stuff to the long stuff so um and i would probably shingle shingle on the sides and then just lay some on the back but like so at this scale i wouldn't i can't think of a dog that i would fur like maybe a pomeranian or something that's super poofy okay you might fur right so it like because it will really stick up you know all over the place so um uh somebody's asking what fiber you used on the wiener dog i made a blend i used a lot of merino and um i'm trying to think what i think i blended black coffee and i even put a little bit of um is it wood i always forget the name of our teal now yeah the dark teal green because you know black dogs are so um are so tricky they kind of lose their you really got to get the light on them to see all their shapes so he's if you if you had him that you could see him closely there's just like little bits of brown and teal in him um so i hardly ever felt with i might have mixed black core into it i hardly ever felt with just mourinho but he is made with a lot of merino and then the bulldog i did um i mixed together [Music] chestnut and liver chestnut okay i used um horse the horse top coats are great for dogs also so like if i were making a golden retriever i might use palomino on the face and stuff um as far as a lab which doesn't have long long hair right what fiber type on that more of a top coat or um something like the horse coats because so the horse coats core or the horse coat because that the hound is the same way it's all direct it's all direct stabbing so it's really core and then the hound colors are blends of merino with the core so but the horse coats are created for that direct stabbing so they have a lot of core in them they're core merino and they do have a little bit of tesla silk for shine okay um so that would be similar for a lab the hound in the lab as far as what kind of fiber and then i mean it's really your particular dog that you're trying to replicate right the borzoi so many possibilities yeah the borzoi i used a little bit of um pigora fiber that i had left from my pygoras but um the other thing that works for that sort of wavy is the fur and then you wet it and crunch it or or mow hair it'll it'll get some wave to it so even though it's pulled very straight in when you make the roving if you wet it it will it will curl again somebody was asking is it possible to sell it usb i think the sd card we do not have the hound ready for that that takes a while um it is available on demand on the annex and that way it walks you through the course lesson by lesson all the materials are in there the way you need them that's kind of tricky to convey on the sd card it's just not quite the same experience i don't know if we'll continue doing that on the cards yeah um so the annex really is set up for that i do realize that some people have horrendous internet which even if you get it on demand and you're able to get to a place that has decent internet you can download everything and right on your own sd card so right um yeah we did the dragon you did the dragon and right it was a lot of worse it's uh and then it just doesn't quite translate right um the way that right i mean theoretically it's better than nothing the course has a lot of um if you haven't taken an annex course yet there's there's a video there's text there's images there's pdfs like it has a lot of different components to it um oh my there's a lot of questions about [Music] specific dogs this is the fluffy curly reddish blonde terrier yeah you know you german short-haired pointer yeah you're gonna have to experiment yeah it's just livered but an odd brown yeah yeah you gotta blend and then the blending is key so you think about think about your fiber in terms of color and texture and um yeah and have fun blending like you know it's like mixing paint you can make it exactly what you need it to be um there were a few questions about [Music] t-shirts yeah people are saying we need to stab it to life t-shirt back that was a good one we do have can we tell them about julian oh yeah so we had a visitor a couple weeks ago and um her name's julia and she was admitting that when she did the pony course she didn't trust me and because it was one of the first things she made she kind of leapt into the deep end not the pony pony but still yeah and so the armature to her looked like the legs were too long but the pony gets really fat right and a lot of the legs get sucked up into the pony and so she she made them shorter and then made the pony and then it was like a little dachshund so um oh shoot i'm not i got i gotta i can't i gotta nail the punch line it said wait let me think about what the t-shirt said hang on i might be able to find it [Laughter] it's terrible so she had a t-shirt made for herself here okay carla's gonna say it don't doubt sarah just stab it rabbit that's what it says um so yeah that's a cute picture yeah and then we have um we have a new t-shirt in the works but we should we should do stab it to life we should do a stab it to life repeat we're always torn between the quality of silk screen which i prefer but then we have to have a lot of random sizes in stock but they've sold like they have it just yes it just takes a while versus the the like where we link you to a site where they just print it for you we have tried i would say at least three it doesn't sound like a lot but uploading them making them buying them to see what kind of quality comes to us and we're always these three like terrible like off center and the one the bunny logo has like this shadow line around it which it shouldn't because it doesn't have it on the file but it doesn't print right um we have tried numerous times to to link to a place that you could just go buy it buy it in a bunch of different designs if you want a tank top you can get a tank top like it sounds great and we just we haven't been happy with the quality so we haven't done it yet um so but we will order more t-shirts more mugs we did get more hats um i feel like there was another t-shirt that we liked recently but oh julia's here who would doubt sarah um all right so we have some news any more questions about hounds and dogs trying to make sure i didn't miss any did you go over curly fur like in a poodle or some terriers um i think we touched on the sheep and lamb technique which is you know you could use fur also so if you take fur and you you kind of mess it up right instead of it being totally straight right and then i did this on the rim of a santa claus um and then you stab the fur in like willy-nilly like like with bumps and stuff that can look really cool because what's nice about the fur is it comes in different colors because like the locks it's hard to get the right color that you need for your curly dog and then you can experiment with like just trimming the top so that there's some you know pieces that are are sticking off you again you can experiment with wetting it um but like with the sheep and lamb we take the locks and we just tease them apart a little bit so you're not putting on the locks like long locks you're using the crimp and the lock to mimic the crimp in the in the dog i think one of the things that i love about this craft is the challenge of finding the right fiber for it for the job so well the dogs bring an extra challenge because so often people are trying to make a specific right dog right um and not just a breed but like someone's dog picture like a very specific dog and you have to think about the scale too so uh we had someone who was making a camera versus a schnauzer or like a kind of a wiry coated kind of dog but really when you're making something about four inches high it doesn't have to be the same texture as the actual dog's coat because if the dog were to shrink so with the thickness of his fur so it could be something a little softer but it will still you could still mimic that that wiry look someone asked if the landscape bats would work for any of the short-haired dogs since it has multiple colors for blending or is the staple too long it could be broken up i'm just thinking which landscape yeah yeah i mean i think you're i would buy a few different colors and you know especially like let's say you have your core that's somewhat you know relatable to your dog then if you get two or three merinos that you can blend in with them then you then you sort of have a nice a nice bunch of stuff that's what we do on the hound so i think the landscape bats are it's just not made for that i mean it could you could be lucky and there's one that would work great for a dog that you're making but um i would rather have control over the colors that i'm that i'm picking out um someone asked to hold up the dogs again and somebody asked if we'd ever have the pre-felt cut into smaller squares probably not it's just a lot of work to cut if you're looking for like it says five six or ten inch squares don't we um keep yeah keep an eye out for the pre-felt pieces bundles because that would get you smaller smaller pieces let me see if they're so the hounds are i think they end up about this one's almost about six inches at the shoulder oh gosh he's like six and a half i don't know what happens but i make them and they end up different sizes this guy's a little shorter let's see that's true for regular hounds yes in real life right that's true he's he's just under six and so what as i mentioned in the course the dogs aren't to scale to each other because the dachshund would be like all the way down here and nobody wants to make something that small so my dachshund is four inches at the shoulder can you pass me the bulldog dude yes oh my god i love the bulldog i didn't even get them right really because i only made one but i still really like him he's four and a half inches at the shoulder and he's six inches long they are such an extreme like they're really really wide in front really really wide and then their head is huge um question about the pre-felt i just sometimes when products get out of stock they hide i just set it to not be hidden so they're out of stock but you can type in pre-felt in the search box and the pre-felt bundle the clearance bundle will come up if you click in it you can add your email to be notified when when it comes back in stock so click into that add your email and when we add our next set of bundles you will get an email and be notified so you could order them to those people who forgot fiber fairy in your comments it's fine i put it in there and if it was a while ago i already did it anyway so don't worry about that hi sabrina um i have something in my eye that's why i keep just being weird yeah the seraphina hand carters are on order he is making them i would guess a couple weeks i'm not sure so we never talked about strouch nobody's really asked no strauss went out of business i'm not sure if it's coming back pretty pretty kind of bumpy situation um so that page is gone from from our website and we won't carry you know the strauch handcarters and stuff anymore but um if either if the company gets picked up and comes back or if we find you know find another but we didn't we didn't sell a ton of carters and stuff like that no they were just great yeah oh yeah it was yeah they were great um so do you need a printer to work with an annex course ideally you would have a printer most of them have downloadable reference material and all of do all of them all of them i think do all of them have like a thing that you can print right so taking it to a place where you can print like kinko's or that would be you could take take your laptop and get stuff for makeup download it onto like a usb stick if you we're forcing you all into you're gonna want to print it because it's stuff that she designed and drew yeah and it's good and very helpful so someone asked if she could make chihuahuas with the course it's like i said the the in detail instruction is just for the hound so what i hope is that you would make the hound in the course well yes you wouldn't make the health in the course but that the course information sets everyone up to try to try the different breeds that they want to try um so someone's asking about oil painting and mixing to get depth how do you do that with fiber depth are we talking 2d she said i have wolf hybrids one is white when i've done oil painting of her i used about 50 shades of white to get the depth yes yes how would i mix felting to get yeah in details so it's interesting because what we're doing with the needle felting is really sculpting so if something's a solid color like if something's white the or or something like the um the bulldog i can sculpt the folds but if i can't sculpt the folds with as much like depth and detail as i want i can stick a dark color in the crease to make it look deeper than it is so we're we're combo plus we're making colors we're neato faulting something we're not using just a solid color we're we're making the animal in the color that it is so it's a mix of sculpting and painting mixing colors when i need a variety of white i really like to take two pale colors that are complements and mix them together to make a gray which is more alive than gray just gray um so you could take hush and dune and blend them um you might need a it might need a third color in there but or like a really pale blue and a really pale um orangey peach color like and then also with your white you can make piles of grays like all different tones of white so it is it is a lot like it is a lot like oil painting you could you could sculpt your piece with a darker core and then which we do on the hounds and then reverse needle to pull a little dark out so many animals is tough because their coat might be dark at the um base and light at the tip or light at the base and dark at the tip and it's unless you find a lock that's perfect like the fiber doesn't do that so you're trying to mimic this multi-colored hair you know with with fiber that's all a solid color so um yeah there's just tons and tons of technique to explore with this just um i wish i wish i could you know cover it all but um but we at least wanted to not at least we wanted to to create a dog force um and you know in a way that i hope gives everybody some some place to to try different things so um what do we use for the base of 2d pictures it can be so many things it can be a flat matte now flat matte is a coarser wool and it's off-white so if it will like kind of come up into your picture a little bit you could use a pre-felt that is um you know a tone so we were not able to source the icelandic pre-felt anymore but the good news is that as part of our year this year we're going to utilize the new machines that we got to make our own line of pre-felt and these will be [Music] created with the intention of pelts like we've used for animals in the past but also a nice maybe like six colors of nice background colors and tones for 2d felting whether you're going to needle felt right onto that like the rooster or the 2d snow hair or you're going to wet felt you know completely cover it and wet felt it'll be a great start you can lay out merino um i'm trying to think of what i do that i don't think i do it for wet felting for a wet felted picture i don't think i do it in any of our videos but i have done it like in the cloak right right like the forest right you don't even have to have pre-felt you can just if you just carefully lay out um yeah but we felt like you know good colors yeah someone earlier said hail dante yes yes we're gonna have we should have solis coming next week oh good we should have live with lee and a little tour yeah which brings me to uh some news did you talk about this at all oh do you want to before so we have a new color um a new fiber we were really missing tan core and this is like it's even better so i took a stab at the color blend uh let's i have to admit it was a bit of a ha half-hearted stab i was like i'm just gonna take this this and this equal parts um and and just missed the mark but jennifer redid it and we just love this it's mainly core it does have a natural brown um sheep color in it and it's super fluffy and it is made on dante so it's actually a bat but it gets pulled into a nice long strip that is going to be a lot like chunky core so it's called jen jen tan and for those of you who have been missing tank what happened is the otters not that like everybody and their uncles making otters but the otters had tan and we just couldn't replace them replace it so and i know you know it's tricky because in this business fibers come and go and so we have all these videos out there that use specific fibers and we have to replace them and i realize that's not ideal but um but there's no way around it so we always try and find something comparable and in this case we had to make it unfortunately we could um so my focus this year really is on bringing in products utilizing the new machines so there will be a kind of an expansion in um house carded and pre-filled for sure um yes the um are you answering yeah okay um we've used core wall to wet felt it wet felts it's it's it's so puffy like it's just it's harder to lay out i feel the um the off-white bat is actually the same as our our core wool i don't know do we still have off-white bats um i think so um to the little blue fly we have tons of videos i just linked the page yeah and you can go in they're broken down by level and a nice list there and yeah and subscribe to the channel because we're doing new stuff all the time so so we've been asked a lot you know is the shop gonna open and um i don't see it happening because we have taken over the shop for a few reasons um we've taken over the shop with production and need the space and at this point we have way more products than could fit in the shop and um you know we're we're finding that we're we can be very focused on the online work that that we need to do but um we're going to start having a day that we're open so like we're not sure what to call it yet it's not an open house because like there won't be food maybe maybe they'll be i don't know but we'll be here and we'll be available and we'll be happy to help you and you can shop where we ship which is what we might call it um and you can see things and you can show me things and um you know we'll be you don't have to make an appointment so we will start tentatively we're at september 18th right now for the first one so if you live nearby or you feel like making a little trip we'd love to see you and we will um that is a saturday i think saturday 10 to 3 months 10 to 3 yeah so we'll be we'll get it on the calendar i think i don't have it on the calendar because we didn't know what to call it yeah because it's sort of like a seraphina sneak peek yeah because you know we'll probably have the um big carter running like you want to see a little bit behind the scenes it's a share fest it's a yeah share and shop shop and share where we ship shop and share speak yeah we're not sure so if you think of a wonderful name let us know so yeah so that's kind of a nice way to see people and have people in and um you know kind of target the give the day that purpose so oh laura's birthday we are located in northeastern maryland we're in elkton maryland so we're in the very tippy north corner northeast corner of maryland oh oh kathy yeah that's a bummer what else there's lots of things happening on the tax sales tax front just just to let you know um so i'm not sure how that's going to play out yet but ooh sheriffina sheriff i'm writing it down oh my gosh so funny seraphina at seraphina that's perfect yay i knew if we asked we would get something good we said you guys were punny and clever and all of those things so we'll we'll have them periodically i'm not going to make a uh i'm not going to declare that they'll be every month or anything but we will we'll we will fit them in as we as we can so all right so are you ready for the other news i don't know are we um so cut can you i'm going to introduce you okay now okay so while we chat kyla is going to make a new page live on our website which is the certification course page and um i have no idea what to expect from your end in terms of interest and but we've put a lot of work into this and hopefully we did okay so we'll be getting your feedback soon i'm sure so we're gonna make the page live the page has a couple of short videos and it has an inquiry form and the certification program is for people who are level four and above like you really you know will be the application process will have a lot of um you'll there'll be an interview and i don't know what the right word is like i'm going to take a look at your work and it has a lot of requirements to it and um yeah for people who really want to teach and create an income from teaching so we're we're putting it out there um there is quite a bit of back and forth with the information and my plan for now is to limit enrollment to twice a year and 25 people per enrollment um because it's not you know well like i said i don't know what to expect in terms of who's going to want to do it but i really want it to be a quality not quantity situation and i'm very involved in the process so i don't want to you know i don't want to have too many people applying that i'm not putting my best my best forward so um yeah so i'm looking forward to sharing it with you and for you guys to check it out and let us know you know what you think and if you have any questions there's no you definitely can inquire there's an inquirer form on the page and feel free to inquire and then once you inquire the next um the very next thing is a non-disclosure and then once we have that then you get more information and at that point you'll be able to make you'll be more educated about what what the give and take is and you can you can decide before you apply like if there's no harm in inquiring um the 25 starts with receiving your application fee so in other words it's going to be first come first serve basis with yeah but don't rush like i'm going to do it again you know hopefully like early spring right i want to make sure and you want to make sure that you're ready and you'll see what's required to be ready and the application fee if you are in if you are if i feel you're ready for the for the course goes towards your course um if i feel you're not ready for your course we're gonna have another one-hour zoom meeting and we're gonna talk that out and help make a plan and reach some goals um so this is like three years coming two at least two years oh several years of more than three of having the idea it was a really long process and we hope we think we did it well we hope especially the now this step like we're just ripping off a band-aid yeah i mean it's ready things are like ready underneath just bear with us that's all especially trying especially because it's a fiber fairy weekend but um it's um it's been like all good things like all worthy worthwhile things this has been a long time and a lot of work and um and it has tons of tons of components to it um lots of contracts because we're we're creating a relationship basically so uh but we need the relationship to be structured and legal and you know understood on both ends so um yeah it is open to the uk everything yes training is done it's all online yep um and as far as those interested in doing it i i mean the intention isn't necessarily just to like say i mean i'd say you're certified yeah but edwina wants to just it is a cool uh t-shirt and certificate so i don't blame you um so yeah it's not painful no ripping off the band-aid that's not painful we just had to get to the point where we're like are we ready like have we have we figured out all the possible okay if we do this then this and then wait what's the next step and there's flow charts and there's a lot and i kind of feel like something is going to come up and we're going to be like oh something's going to come up we should have done that yeah so if you see a problem just be patient and point it out gently please be patient and kind of um leslie just email me if you have problems yeah we'll help you out be brave so reena i'm not um you will see if you inquire you'll get that information but i'm not um i'm not just putting it out there in the world the the financial all of it all of the gives and takes um so that's what the non-disclosure is for it is a lot of time to sort of she's building it so you know yeah i want i want to i started alone you know i was teaching at a local yarn shop called vulcan's rest and i'm so thankful for that and it built a lot and people love it like it was so rewarding and i learned a lot because i kept having to get better to be able to teach you know to be able to teach you really have to understand your techniques and your fibers and what you're doing and then be able to verbalize it um so yeah i'm excited i think we have a lot to offer and then you know as more people are teaching um it's just gonna be it's just gonna be good needle felting is on this cusp of exposure that um i wanna i wanna break through um you know we get new interest all the time but the general public still knows nothing about it and yeah i just think it can be a really win-win situation so it is live so you'll be able to check it out by live i mean the page is available now um so i'll be able to check that whether you want to leave this now and rush over there or wait until we're done and then check it out it's in the top of the website um one of the things says serafina certified instructors so so i did not uh go to art school joe i went to um a liberal arts college and i studied anthropology and sociology and women's studies um but i have a family of very creative people and we've always been encouraged to create sometimes i wish i went to art school especially when it comes to oil painting because so much has been studied and can be taught and i i've painted by just in you know figuring out an intuition and practice but i feel like in terms of color and mixing and theory and there's just so so much to be learned um and it's really such a passion of mine that art can be taught like i get um know when someone's like i'm not an artist or i can't do that and it's just you just have to have an interest you know and you can and it i i keep talking about teaching painting when i was sketching the hounds for the dog course there's a bunch of charcoal sketches involved and i was just like i would just love to have a um an overhead be live and and explain like the decisions that i'm making in the things that i'm looking at because people think drawing is this special talent but um it's really just being determined to learn to see and to and to work that out and it's such a great skill to have if you do want to needle felt realistic animals or whatever or especially the painting with the 2d it's just it all overlaps and i'm i don't know i'm just i'm really excited about how teachable it all is and that's part of the certification and the needle felting is like we can we can create for fiber art this depth of knowledge and skill that you know other crafts have had because they've been around for a long time and that's why this needle felting stuff's so exciting it's so young and um so anyway it all it all comes together but lara said it it is art school just not in a building yeah color theory is great uh when we make colors here like so my favorite example is elephant because it's gray but it has um oregano bright purple dark dark blue rust it has all these colors in it that make gray so that's like what what um the question about depth and and lively color um yeah we should we could there's a lot i want to do i'm going to get a gopro and just talk why that would be so weird like instead of a naturalist or like bear girls where he's like out in the i'll be like i'm at the carter and i'm feeding the machine all right because it's a constant live stream yeah or i could go steve irwin look at the tan it's such a beautiful wool i'm not gonna i'm not gonna try and do his accent such a beaut it's a rare texture um somebody asked if there would be certification in other countries i already have a spot set for united we're hopeful yeah i think so yeah color's fun so much to learn and so good for us i'm so curious to see what the inquiries look like oh i'm checking already um so yeah so i just i didn't want to create a situation where we have a lot of disappointed people with the limit but at the same time i know and there might we might not even get 25 people you guys might look at it and think okay i'm not ready or i can't afford this or it's not for me um so we'll see we'll see what happens we just sort of we just sort of had to jump in um that's so funny um we already have one person who's inquired good that means they left this stream might not know we're talking about them very possibly now somebody could open up many browsers that's true white and brown batting on the website is chunky core i mean if you're wanting to wrap i would just buy roving i wouldn't buy batting the brown is not the the off-white is the same the brown is a natural is not the same the brown might even be smooth brown top oh the brown batting has a longer staple those looking for the certification information go to the website and along the top there's several tabs felting supplies the tutorials the goods and faves there's a new tab that says seraphina certified instructors so you can click into that and there's two choices one that has some videos and the place to inquire and the other is our directory that isn't full of people yet but hopefully soon [Music] we're just going to stay here for a few minutes and see if there's as people are looking at checking out the page um see if there's any more any more questions i feel like that's everything we have wolfhound gen gen tan fiber fairy sheriff fina day yes and um and the certification program lots of multitaskers all right it keeps popping up that i'm a moderator every time i comment this thing pops up telling me that i can ban people or put them in timeout it's reminding me of my power here kyla can put you in a timer i can put you in a timeout it was just such a funny right such a funny term right so we're rearranging in here i know you guys only see this rectangle behind us but um rearranging and i'm hoping to have it in good shape oh that's the other thing about sheriffina day sorry if you can't get here but um we're gonna have some things for sale where because we're rearranging and cleaning up and um have some tools for sale some used things some um some knick-knacky cool little we have a lot of props and stuff my sculptures will be here so i'm very motivated to [Music] get the shop organized the way we need it we need it to be um someone's asking again about the tears and there's a few questions about a little hint on the felt alone okay the tears are and then there's another question about sheraffina day okay the tears are pretty simple an ounce of light gray at 20 an ounce of dark gray at 35 and an ounce of the new wolfhound at 50. um sheriffina day did you hear that john sharon pena i came up with that a week ago you did i mean for a file sharing oh i heard you guys talking about it downstairs i was like wait a minute oh that's good okay so we're great minds yeah um is our way of having you in to the shop just you know for the day we'll be available we'll be helping you um you're gonna shop where we ship and it's which is fun because it's like 14 foot walls of stuff and you get to walk all through there and um and see everything and um we should go live on sheriffin a day we'll go live yeah we can do that and um we could demo dante perhaps and uh yeah so just the we'll have them periodically the first one we're looking at september 18th but once we nail it down it'll it'll be on the calendar and um yeah just a chance to to see people basically i think i'm gonna i think i'm gonna require masks at this point um just because i know in cecil county rates are going up but we'll i'll i'll specify that um so oh joe john you're doing the video of sheriffina day just so you know and live with lee when someone asked you to do that live with lee possibly next they know your quality someone said you're a pro they know this now so yeah we want to we'll do a video tour and then what was the third thing uh well there was the preview of the felt along because somebody heard us say there's going to be a fiberglass during the next five before it's going to be connected to a phelps i don't know if we're going to tell you anything about it totally secret super big secret really chances are you're going to want to just watch the filter oh right because it's it's it might be quite a bit and i mean that we're kind of leaning towards that way anyway as we do new projects versus the felt alongs during covid where we were making sleepy mice or right they're a little more yeah but more complicated yeah um and i'll just say it's seasonal oh well now you did it now you did it um what's happened to milo he's cool he's chill he's around i don't know i mean milo's sleeping milo's sleeping yeah i think they're talking about the other milo i don't have a scary mask some people want you to say shop where you ship three times fast which is why i don't like the name we don't recommend shopping where you ship john john thought it sounded invasive but it's fun to say so we but it's not because we're here for you that day and we won't be shipping well we might there might be a little bit it might be a little bit of shipping um uh the tears that was the last question was i did the tears i did the tears oh you did another one oh people miss milo uh-huh what does johnny jerry milo's part of the mile is part of the dog course in case you miss him that much yeah yeah go ahead and buy the dog course yeah um how about regular milo's sleeping susan just asked what the fiber fairy is so any fiber fairy you can find on either seraphina fiberart on facebook that's our business page or sign up for the newsletter and you will get an email at 1201 with the fiber fairy description today it is light gray core at a 20 tier dark gray at a 35 tier and the new wolf hound gray top coat at fifty dollars um we're looking at a fiber fairy early october felt along a couple weeks later and we will get them on the calendar yeah i don't know what um brenda asked if we're gonna do a felt along with lee i don't know what we're gonna do lee doesn't even know that we're gonna be live yet i'm just throwing that in there i don't know we'll do something we'll do we'll do something maybe we'll do we could do some color stuff or you know do one of the things that we never get to the felt along is not october 1st that is the potential fiber fairy day and the felt alone would be a that's a friday saturday a couple weeks later yeah um someone a few people have asked about the sheep eyes yeah so that's sheep eye the sheep eye is about i think i could show the puppet at this point because it's it's already out there i did this a couple of years ago and i wasn't really allowed to oh she's a little she's a little shabby chic now i got a remaker um yeah but so i've been making puppets um and i'm remaking the sheep because she because she is she's a little shabby sheep and um that's what i was working on so yeah puppets could be a thing eventually i have made so few that it's kind of like i refigure it out every time um but we could start smaller and um and everybody's going to want to make different puppets right so like um maybe we can figure out a way to show that the techniques or the methods and then you gotta go from there the one with her eyeball hanging out is like extra terrifying the donkey was really good i don't have him here i have the sheep back because i'm fixing her up and making the new one but um i made a rooster and a donkey a sheep and a lamb ginormous lamb chop yeah we'll be we'll be doing more 2d um i have a brown another rabbit but the brown hair is really really fun with the with the locky forest like i said it might be a little slower on new tutorials this year because we really want to get the um the new production going on products like bats new colors and pre-felt but um and we're because we're starting the certification program that's we got to see how that goes in terms of time time time yeah yes paul lee's gonna come in to visit i was supposed to get down there in june and i just i don't know what happened in this summer i i couldn't make it happen so lee's coming up here and um yeah it'll be awesome i can't wait to see her huh whoops kyle's busy answering questions that's okay i'm checking things out all right i want to make a show it would be fun to make a show it would be fun to be able to do something oh julie has a puppet thing i know joy you need to come meet milo in person no very friendly like that you love him what's the um one of the pillow talks is the whole like oh the cute one with the girls interviewing milo he was so sad there were people afraid of him yeah he had a little crisis a little confidence yeah the crisis of confidence thank you patience patience helped my stepmom helped me a lot with the dog course we had a lot of conversations about breed characteristics and types so did you oh yeah did you name the hair and did i miss that because i wasn't we did name the heron and it was like aaron fisher or something like that oh yeah aaron the heron fisher i feel like he had a middle name too but i'm like that was paul was paul asking that um yeah we had a fun convo about that so what if we could do something like regularly that was all set up i could go live and i could just teach something for an hour i don't know this is what happens regularly yeah like i want to have like a show oh okay like a youtube [Music] i just press buttons and i'm like so hilarious like yeah that would be so much fun it'd have to be like i'd have to work like thursday nights or something like that right you can nominate sarah as much as you want it would be good see we think [Laughter] it's a little creepy when you think of it that way [Music] oh how the quilt shows you okay i'll check out some i'll check out some shows oh how to homemade dye the white core without ruining the texture oh you shouldn't shouldn't be a problem you just have to dip like let it sit well it depends on what kind of dye you're using i guess the real thing i mean you used to dye our um skin tone remember that way back in the day really you dyed our skin tone we had the off-white chunky core and we dyed it and you would dye the skin tone i wish we had a seraphina timeline like with a little bit more documentation because we have we're like this machine that keeps changing like keep adding parts and and growing and some parts we let go of numbers we let go of we might let go is going by the way we might let go of a couple of kits nobody wants to make cats after all that about cats maybe it's because it's a crappy tutorial i don't know but cats are not selling sleepy squirrels aren't selling so there might be a little bit of out with the old but the videos will stay there and we can make a list of this which the supplies you need um yeah stacy live with sarah and milo's much better oh good a floofy noofy sounds fun oh i can't wait to see i can't we've seen some hounds come up on fanfare which is awesome and that was fast so it'll be cool to see other people's other people's different breeds i mean dogs alone you know it's like doing different every different it's like doing a different animal right right so i don't have big plans right now for more courses i know we've talked about the moose and we've talked about um the figure and they're they're kind of ready well they're not ready but um that's not really where my focus is going to be the next couple of months so so if you i did see someone ask about a canadian distributor and someone else is saying about a supply center in europe yeah we have thought about it and we've looked at it a bunch of different ways um but nothing that was like fine like that made an eaves sense financially viably like just yeah just not a direction since we can ship everywhere and since you're either going to pay shipping and taxes when you order from us or if we have to send it over so especially right now international cargo shipping is not good oh speaking of that there are cotton and jute shortages um so you might see that affect things like the stabit and the totes um but fortunately most of what we have is us-based and except for dhg no christmas projects on the calendar specifically one of the things that lee and i talked about last summer with kyla was a collaboration on a missus clause with clothes and stuff but we would have had to have started that and we and we haven't too many more ideas than we have uh time really so yeah the shipping cost internationally is rough the import taxes are even rougher depending on where you live and now there seem to be some newer issues that they're like holding packages and it's um it is a challenge to say the least you might want to clarify that no videos we are not deleting any videos just maybe not making supply packs and the pony i really want to remake because the pony is awesome it was one of the first things i made i don't know i'm like just push it here and bend it here and i'm not being specific but everybody's made pretty successful ponies but we have some supplies that have changed and techniques that have changed so that's on the redo list um yeah sarah found the fiber fairy chair somewhere yeah i don't remember where resale shop somewhere so patient says she loves the pony the pony was fun and what's funny is now i make things differently like when i first started felting there was sort of a quality to what i was doing that was very whimsical and now i'm like i feel like i've lost that a little bit which isn't bad they're more like refined i guess but um so i don't know it's here or there it's just interesting like it's part of why i haven't been teaching beginner stuff anymore because i'm too wound a little too tight like a you have to be a little loosey goosier you're round tight just like like i have a more honed technique and ability and it's just you just got to be like so just you know anything goes okay yeah so yeah so stacy that's what we're talking about the supply pack is out of stock and we've kind of left it out of stock because there's some fiber substitutions and technique developments and we want to remake the i think we'll be doing that you know not yeah maybe once we see what happens with the sci interest but uh we want to remake the pony tutorial and then we would remake the supply pack to go with it we've done that with the goat and the fox so far i think and the bunny puff got a little upgrade right right laura so yeah i mean i used to teach classes i did like a make your pet i had like 12 people making 12 different things and it was just it worked like i couldn't imagine doing that now it's just a little bit more of a free-for-all like a um but now it's more like everybody wants you know theirs to be specific and a certain way and so the sprite was loosey-goosey yeah sometimes the beginner projects we can someone wants me in italy what who wants you in italy oh i'm serving oh that's awesome yeah i'd be a fun trip i want to go to italy so dante comes from italy and dhg comes from italy so i think i have good reason to go to italy oh audrey you'll be fine you can you can i just said it might be a long wait not that long but maybe yeah if you feel like doing it i would just do it yeah so we make is worthwhile because it's all learning and it's all fun to do in the moment and sometimes you can make something and it's not the way you want it and you can redo it but i always suggest just making another one you know it took me it took me like four hounds to get the hound to look the way that i wanted it to look um so instead of like continually stabbing or cutting off a wire or you know adding more or i just made enough making another one no this isn't quite right i'm going to make another one so if there um aren't any more questions we can wind down i think we're good move on to our next steps yeah so we'll keep you posted on leigh's visit and we'll add specifics to the calendar as we know them and like i said with the certification just um if there are glitches or too many people interested or just be patient and we will um we'll address everything as we as we can we want it to be a really good experience for everybody so that's gonna be great we figured it all out no hiccups no pickles no smooth smoothies yeah so thank you all for being here today and checking out what we do we're gonna ship we're gonna ship where we ship and we're gonna and we're gonna eat pizza and stay inside it is hot out yeah it's terrible it's awful it's gonna change yeah so thank you all for being here uh this morning it was really fun and i'm excited about so much too much as always never never too much are you shutting us off john yeah sue um the mooses the moose yeah the moose the tortoise we have a list the rhino you know the rhino was only a live course right but i have everything but we would have to film it so yeah the um the annex courses now are so involved so it's great because it's so much there but it does take us a lot to get one to get one ready a lot more than filming like a felting university the old way for youtube so all right i think we're good
