going man uh what's your name Joe Joe nice to meet you buddy awesome I appreciate that thank you so much and we are back in the showroom back from a small convention called Yogi's toy and die cast show happens a couple times a year in Noblesville Indiana it's always a good time figured I'd document my experience this time at this point when I attend a vintage toy show of any sort my objective is pretty simple I'm looking for something scarce or rare something odd something unusual maybe just something you don't see every day I try to buy it at a price I feel comfortable with get it home and see how I did because at the very least I know that once I start going down those little rabbit holes of research I'll be able to tuck away some little nuggets of knowledge for future hunts and it's just like a continuing education all in all I feel like this Quest was a success so real quick let's take a look at everything first of all I always seem to have what I would consider a questionable buy at least one this time it's this 1977 Hasbro Farrah Fawcett doll knit on card it's Jill from Charlie's Angels I can't really explain why I picked this up it was marked at 55 bucks I got it for 50. the car just looked nice the graphics were good on it the bubble was pretty clear it does have this little ding up here otherwise it's in pretty nice shape for the year after doing a little research it seems to hold a pretty consistent value of between like 60 and 70 bucks so at least value-wise I don't think I did too bad again I can't really explain why I picked it up though if we come over here I did add a new member to the my pet monster family we got the football player now I ended up paying 110 bucks for him which is pretty fair in this condition the teeth are good the nose is good all the fur is good on it the feet and hands have a little wear that you would come to expect on these but definitely not terrible now since my intention is usually to complete stuff like this it can certainly be argued that maybe I should have just waited till a more complete example came along Because by the time you find and buy all the accessories it's completely possible that you'd be upside down on it but as it turns out my good buddy that we all know at 1985 Inc tells me that he actually has a couple extra accessories for this guy right here and I'm sure I'm just sure he'll give me a good deal on them so at the end of the a day I may have just done okay on this guy I picked up a couple items from a booth that was just full of eclectic interesting things the guy actually gave me his card his shop is called dirt boys vintage collectibles in Sellersburg Indiana I think I'm 80 bucks all in with these two items first up we have the dragster from a cartoon called little Dracula I believe this was from the early 90s 1990 or 1991. I had no clue what this cartoon was it was not on my radar I had never heard of it until now I've since gone down one of the aforementioned rabbit holes and learned that there was a really cool little action figure line based on this cartoon I think there's like eight or ten action figures in a couple Vehicles this of course being one like I said this belongs to little Dracula himself it's called The Dragster this one is sealed in the Box I just thought the artwork on it was really cool value-wise I did see at least one sold example in the last several months that was around 90 bucks uh one more recently for around 50. 80 all into these two items so that's a pretty good start and then the second item from that buy is this 1986 Imperial Universal monsters wolf man now this is actually a figure that I have found from time to time certainly not rare by any means what does seem a little special about it is that it's sealed on the card which is something you don't often see with this guy there were three other monsters from this line of course we have Dracula Frankenstein's monster and mummy card obviously has a little wear on it the bubble looks pretty good overall it's nice and clear of course the artwork in the background is absolutely amazing with the tombstone and the wolf howling at the moon there the most recent sold example I could find of one sealed in the package like this was I think right around 100 bucks so definitely a good solid deal from dirt boys vintage collectibles and then lastly we have the biggest potentially most significant deal purchase this from a booth that calls themselves the toy horde I've actually ran into them a few times at various shows always get a good deal from them it seems like they run a pretty no-nonsense Money Talks operation and I can certainly get on board with that total I have 540 dollars into these five items and let me try to explain why that's such a great deal in my opinion first of all we have the early 1980s glow-in-the-dark Remco mini Frankenstein monster now this one's in kind of rough shape as you can see but this is a line that I've actually been looking for for quite a while I never seem to see it anywhere carded versions of these can be pretty valuable there's playsets that could be pretty valuable I just think it's a really cool line they're basically just tiny little monsters I think they're 3.75 inch scale same size as like a Star Wars figure or a GI Joe figure in this condition I probably paid close to what it's actually worth but as much as they've been on my radar lately I could not pass up the first one I encountered next up we have some sealed mint on card 1986 Tom Rock Lords we have slime Stone and we also have nugget slimestone here has a really clear nice bubble there is some card wear I actually like that you can see the child World Children's Palace price tags on it they don't come up sealed very often when they do they're usually well over 100 bucks there's other figures in this line that sell for even more than that but I was happy to at least grab a couple of them nugget is a little odd in the fact that even though the bubble is clear it looks like someone might have grabbed it too hard and kind of smashed him into his his uh rock form at some point because the bubble does not look like it's been resealed whatsoever regardless to find two sealed on the card I was absolutely gonna pick those up next up we have something that I'm always looking for and that is 1988 10 back Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles figures and just in case you don't know this is what 10 back means it's the earliest cards with the first 10 figures displayed on the back now I buy TMNT figures a lot I don't personally collect minifigures from the line however I would like to try to put together a complete 10 back set I believe this is the third one one I've acquired from the set I also have a Rafael 10 back and a foot soldier 10 back the other two are unpunched this one's not however the card is still really nice the bubble's still really nice on it now within the tin back set there are certain variations to different figures that I'm not really concerning myself with for instance Bebop here there's a pink head figure where the head is obviously a lot more pink than the body that one's worth even more but just a nice basic 1988 10 back Bebop tends to sell for over 300 in most cases so I was really happy to find a nice example for quite a bit less than that and then the item that makes the entire deal a slam dunk this is a 1976 Migo micro nuts acroyer there are different colors this one happens to be the pink version as you can see there don't find these very often sealed on the card especially a card this nice very very nice bubble no fading or anything unpunched which is always a plus there is a bit of wear it looks like where a sticker was ripped off at some Point all the art on the back looks really good pretty straight All Things Considered pretty pricey figure complete even when it's loose but like I said it's just not something you see sealed on the card very often in fact as of filming this there are none available meant on card on eBay I believe the last two listed actually sold for between four and five hundred dollars a piece so having said all that considering I paid 540 for all five of these pieces hopefully that demonstrates what a good deal it was hopefully it lets you know that you should absolutely do business with the toy horde if you ever see him at a toy show that is all I got for you this time as always I want to thank you so much for watching the video but until next time stay safe stay healthy love ya bye foreign [Music]
