Atomos Ninja V+ Unboxing and Install - Quick Setup -Canon R6 and Canon R5

go here we go we're gonna do an unboxing installing and setup so let's do this all together now let me take my knife right here and uh actually you know what let's do all these small pieces first before we get to the big piece so it puts all out the way and so by the way i bought this all in b photo and uh i bought the kit one because the kit one comes with a lot of add-ons for free so that is something for you guys to definitely check out now let's take a look at the battery that came with it and put this out the way here is the battery by atomos by the way also that the animal's battery actually lasts pretty long so that is quite interesting now let me see this battery right here these are the mp batteries i have many mp batteries one second let me unbox this right quick boom boom that's what you get a box you get two mp batteries out right here boom put this all out the way all right so this is what you're gonna get in the power kit box you get the ac charger right here and then you get two mp batteries all right the next unboxing is the ssd mini right here and uh this is one terabyte and obviously you could buy an enclosure and you could buy the western digital two terabytes and that is a better deal obviously but uh this came free with the kit so uh let me show you guys what it looks like one moment wow this feels really rugged right here like like metal like like like this is a brick all right we have the cables and this is basically the cable to unload the ssd now for those folks that want to know the specific name for this actual cable i'll leave the link down below of course all right the next thing is this is to attach your monitor onto your hot shoe there is a red button right here to loosen it up if you want to remove your uh monitor right quick there's a hot release right there let me plug it back in and then you could bend it back and forth to your liking and uh that is pretty cool so yeah it's very stiff right here by the way so that's pretty nice all right here are your cables right here and uh it's either hdmi to micro hdmi or something like yeah hdmi micro yeah there you go and they gave me two versions they gave me three feet and a 17.7 inch so basically it's just the same cable but one is longer and one shorter and that's it it's just a full hdmi right here to a micro hdmi and that's basically it and by the way we'll be doing the canon r6 for this video and i know i know rfi will definitely benefit from the uh five plus but uh i only have the r6 currently i'll be upgrading pretty soon but uh just won't let you guys know right there all right the ninja five plus let's open this box and see what's in it one moment [Music] wow animals animals i have to say wow animals your patch design is pretty nice i have to give you guys that wow look at this package design all right you also get a case with it too i love it when they do this type of stuff because now i know if i ever have to travel i have a case for it so pop this open let me see what we get in the package well they give you an enclosure and what else do they give you what is in this thing all right all right i got an ac charger up in here let me plug in my usna one moment bam aha so here's the ac adapter so i do not need to run battery off of my atmos i could just run off the power source on the ac adapter so that is pretty cool so i guess you just screw this in right here as so i have to say adam's got a nice package design team i'll give them that that is pretty nice and long behold um yeah whoever did this plastic part right here in the factory uh yeah it just uh yeah not a big deal but anyways let's move right along all right so here's my canon r6 and of course the the v plus will definitely benefit on the canon r5 a lot more but currently i have the r6 the r5 will be coming in shortly uh maybe next month or two but uh this is just to show you guys how to set things up right away so first things first i'm going to put in the hoshi of the course shoe just like this and there you go i'm going to unbuckle the plate and make sure that this part right here i don't know you guys can see that this part right here is facing in the back part so let's screw that one on all right let me plug this in as so it's very easy just push it in and uh let me turn on for the very first time actually before i even turn on let me set up my camera all right now i need to set up the video so i'll go to my video function and pick my video quality ipb and click ok hdmi you go to html display make sure you have this turned on boom go to your settings mode and make sure you have oh eco mode is turn off all right we got shooting mode to manual so i have my shooting mode to manual i have the 4k recording on ipv let's see what else i need to do white balance you could tweak this i actually turned all my one second i actually turned on my canon log to c log 3 and you could play with whatever characteristic you guys want um usually when you guys are watching my youtube i turn on sharpness by one but you could definitely turn up a bit more if you want to let me go back out all right now i'm going to plug in the cable and plug this right in oh and then i'm gonna plug this cable here you go and plug this out [Music] oh that feels good look at that there you go now the way you turn this on is there's a power button on the side right here you hold it down [Music] all right first things first let's take a look boom boom trigger trigger off cannon oh wow detected is kind of oh look at that canon r6 wow it just detected everything interesting legalized should be turned on yeah turn on this is what you will be seeing through the camera go to record let me see we got pro res that's great high quality bam bam boom let me see what else oh no not four two two hq is fine prores is fine uh this is all well default it's all just fine all right now that the camera is gone asleep my monitor is still running so that is pretty good um let me see if i hit record would it wake up the camera no it won't so that was pretty good so now i'm just recording right now and you do your magic and uh yeah after that it's all done you just hit stop recording and then you just turn off your monitor oh this is really rough to remove the ssd tire all right don't do what i just did i just pressed that red button right there and uh the monitor just fell off all right let me remove this off now i have the data right here and let me see if i recorded anything and if so that'll be great so once you plug in your ssd to your laptop or your computer the drive will pop up as ninja av and you will have all your files there and that's basically it now for my youtube channel or anyone that's doing interviews you're indoors you're not moving around you're basically like static in one position definitely get a dummy battery this will work great for your canon r6 or r5 and with the atomos ninja five plus and i guess the five as well you get the adapter as well for your monitor let me show you guys right quick all you have to do is basically just slide it in and that's it so essentially with these two ac adapters right here with the ken r6 and for the animals you don't need to worry about you know power being run out when you're recording a long interview or a long show or something like that so this is pretty good to have just get a dummy batteries and if you bought the monitor with the animals ninja five plus or five you would just get one of these regardless right so there you go and also if you're going outdoors and you're doing a lot of filming in the sun definitely get a cage for your system and uh definitely a hood for you as well because as you just saw when i was doing this whole installation i almost dropped the animals ninja and uh yeah that was not a good sight right there but definitely get a cage for your atomos and definitely get a hood because when it gets sunny out there you could definitely see the screen with this hood on this will make a huge difference right now with all that said i'm going to put some links down below for the rec 709 from the canon website so you could
