Artifacts found Metal detecting for confederate soldier civil war camps (private site exploring)

hey everyone we're out here today and we're gonna try site sight unseen Scott we got permission Scott actually got this permission yeah we just had I mean I just was talking with somebody about whether they own property in this area because this area was occupied by the Union and he was like man I know a bunch of people up there let me just call it all got us a permission we have zero research nothing this is just blind go in the woods and see if we find anything that's supposed to be some mental house places on their property not exactly right here but if we don't find anything some war-related we're gonna go see if we can find some old coins something like that at old house places so we'll be back to you we find something see in the video it's gonna be a surprise I know it is Scott's got the first fine he's walked over and he forgot his SD card for his camera actually showed me the sign I activate that actually I wanted a camera man like the real youtubers all right see he's got a little small musket ball actually it's a larger musket ball probably looks like a thing split in half yeah and look I think that's the cast that or where they pressed it in I can't tell maybe were they pressed it in anyway this is inconclusive it's still inconclusive should just be somebody should be civilian for something else we need a we need a three ringer yeah before we can showed you a musket ball that Scott found well guess what he says he's got another one that didn't take long Scott sure is it's an old one or is it like buckshot from the shotgun it does look an older one to me that looks bigger than it is oh and there's the there's the sprue wait a minute wait a minute this could just be a fired mono it's not either that bears some looking at now I just rub some wanted a cameraman that's what I'm being today I haven't gotten to like swing my detector I found a shotgun shell an old one Scott says we stumbled across something yes we have yeah you're right sir that is what that is guys if you don't recognize that that is a fired bullet and I guarantee it's gonna be Civil War just based on the weight and everything you don't have a copper jacket it cleaned up some but I think we have stumbled on something yeah that's what I was thinking a carbine may be the top part of a Spencer or it could be three ringer that has just been it's been fractured yeah but it's got a lot of mineralization coated on it so it's gonna need some sudsy ammonia okay and we got a video showing that too somewhere on our channel you have to look for it absolutely I'll rub that mineralization off that white starting to show through yeah I think so too well you know what I'm not gonna say inconclusive on this one Scott however I would like to find more for further confirmation get to it it is beautiful here yeah this was this was probably look just like this oh yeah I'm doing it to you beautiful all right guys we're gonna head back up more on the Highland there however though they'll look for areas close to the water like like this but then they would camp up on a little bit higher land so that you know it's not gonna be as wet cuz you put your knee down right here and it's gonna get wet see so and you wouldn't want to lay down on that neither today so Scott let's work our way back up yeah that's what we found what we think may be part of a civil war bullet so let's go on up there alright so the river we just came from is down there but you almost see it right here right picking up right in here you start hearing an enormous amount of honor and there with some round balls musket balls yeah because they can't we know they were all throughout this county right right so if that this house was likely here then yeah they come foraging yep knocking on the door of demanding supplies food whatever yep both sides did it not just the Union right all right let's see what else we can find I gotta go cover my hole now all right everyone had a 13-14 signal it's real soft so I dug it and a little bitty musket ball looks like maybe 36 caliber probably and we just dug those flat buttons just a few feet right up there and right before I turn the camera on Scott said he's got a spoon so let's go up there and see what a spoon looks like we're kind of debating now if this is a house place or if we've stumbled on maybe a little small Confederate camp but we hadn't found anything military directly right here yet but we've found what we think may be a bullet just down from there earlier when we first got here so hey the verdicts still out on it right now Scott you said you got spoon all right let's take a look at it well you sure do and that's silver too look at that see the silver already cleaning it go ahead and just clean it off on camera that's a silver spoon I don't know if the Confederates would have had that me never know could just be a house place yeah that's gonna be silver yeah yeah that's an oldie but a goodie I think it's silver the back looks silver I could just be tarnished yeah that's silver look at that nice nice nice yeah did you cut it in half oh no no I just do it may be nice if you find the other half because I bet the other half would have the design and a makers mark on it probably you might get looking that it'd be that low but I doubt it it's usually owned up I think uh-huh yeah so well that we've given us a good date but silver spoon you got silver today sir good job all right what that ring uh I bet that thing was blowing your ears off right not really kind of uh kind of a weird it was way under the stomp right here so oh yeah I'm pretty deep cuz I had to dig it out from under there okay it was it was a solid signal but he was jumping okay all right well let's see what else we finally this little hot spot right here this bears further investigation yeah all right Scott's been looking for the rest of that spoon and he says nice and accomplished all right okay how far what oh yeah sure is if it fits oh yeah it does it does how far away was it from where you dug there is no one now what does it have a makers mark on it his letters on Oh what is a name or something you know I'm blind it could be a makers mark or or letters I don't know yeah I think that's the makers that's gonna have the makers mark probably or who's made by I don't know if you guys can see it on camera I doubt it cuz I can barely see it no it's it's definitely the maker's mark let's see if we can do this old trick here's a trick for you guys if you're blind like like me and I hate you get your phone out and you have to tap it to zoom make it focus but you have to hold it real still a lot of times I can't do that unless I'm like Gotha piece on the ground or a table can you see what it is how's it worn off I see it alright so if we can get oh and we will I mean we got microscopes back at the office oh you can't look right there what does that say can you guys see that on the on the screen I don't know if you can or not I don't know if it's bright enough that's definitely letters I can't make out what it is alright we're gonna see what that is and we'll put it up on the video how about that good that make it a little better hey do they see it better I think we got our answer to what this was I don't think it's a house side we're not finding enough house trash when I find enough button let's see no it's not a button it's LED it's a round ball or is that camp lit I think that might actually be melted lid I think that's more template I think it could be a fired round ball but I don't know no no I think that maybe can't play it right there we found some can't play that just right out from here so I think we're actually on the camp so we're gonna keep going and see what else mean it's just been horseshoe nails no house nails no I don't think we're on a camp I don't think we're on an old house site I really do all right I'm gonna see if I can get a chance to find something now uh-huh that's how you knew that we had no clue about this side guys this was a stab in the dark Scott says it's close to and I won't name the creek slash River I said yeah that's a good area I said let's find the high ground and that's what we did and no documentation of any camp ever being here but I think we're on the edge of one right now so let me go finish filling them a hole over there and see if I can find something else got oh it's thick stuff right here you gotta be kidding me I can't even get over there to you through this thick stuff I'm gonna film you through the trees how about that it's probably a shotgun shell anyway it might be actually it's probably know if it'd been me being it be a shotgun shell is you digging it it's gonna be a Confederate button probably because that's kind of luck you have well I may have to hand you the camera if we have to get too close because I can't get through all this thick stuff to you that works right there we're earning it
