all right hey guys welcome back so this is probably the most anticipated video that people have been asking for the past like months on how to rip and fix an avatar and i'm sorry i've been uh lazy i've been busy with life and everything like i just didn't have like enough time to make a new video on how to rip and fix an avatar but finally i've got the time and i'm here so let's get into it so first of all what you'll need is the uh vrca of the avatar so if you don't have that already go in aries and search up the avatar and once you found the avatar just press download vrc and download it wherever you want and after that what we're gonna do is we are gonna go in utility we're gonna load the vrca and just like that and we're gonna extract the vrca going to extract it to my folder so i'm going to extract it right there okay so once you're done extracting the avatar you'll see a folder called vrc aries where you've extracted the avatar you go inside it exported project assets and you'll see the avatar files and everything so you go in shader and you'll see what shader you'll need to fix the avatar completely so in this case i will need preomi pro and the eye shader from lolly explorer and crystal shader so in this case i already have all these shaders in my folder so if you don't have them already go download it or if you already have them just import it so after you've done extracting you open up unity and you first of all you import the vr chat sdk which i already have imported so the next thing i'm going to import is the promise shader all right so after you've done extracting all the i mean importing all the shaders you go back and you import fax utilities so after importing fax utilities the last thing you need to import is the avatar files so i'm just going to drag and drop my assets folder inside my unity okay so after you've imported your avatar files you need to go inside the assets folder then you need to go in asset bundles then prefab and this is the avatar prefab you have right here and you'll need to drag and drop it on your hierarchy right here so first at the beginning the avatar will be like this all pink and everything so in that case you'll need to attach shaders and everything to make the avatar look like how it's supposed to be looking like so to do that you on the top where it says fax utilities you click that you go in repair avatar you press easy shader reassign and in this box you drag and drop this prefab right here oh sorry you drag and drop the materials folder in here then you press scan and it should say like what shader you need to put on each things so i'm just gonna do that for this one i'm gonna slowly explore i should yes me okay so after if you fix the shaders and everything and the avatar is looking like how it's supposed to be looking like then you're good to go for the next step so the next step is you press effects utilities up here then repair avatar again then you press fix vrc3 scripts so in this folder we're gonna uh drag our whole assets folder inside here so like that then you press run fix and it's gonna fix everything so that's second step that's done so the third step is go back repair avatar you do remove missing scripts so for this one you just drag your prefab you put it right here then you press run fix it's going to delete all the missing scripts and empty game objects whatever so that's the third step the fourth step is you go back repair avatar and you press copy components so for this one uh you'll need to go in your hierarchy you create an empty game object and on the right side where it says add component you click that you type fax that's gonna pop up with fax load bundle you click that where it says bundle source you click that you select the vrca that you downloaded earlier you click open and you press load bundle so once the bundle is loaded in the scene you where it says copy from you open this game object you drag and drop this in here and you scan it and where it says copy to you drag and drop the prefab of your own avatar that you were fixing so you drag and drop this to here you go down here where to select all you press that and you press run so it's going to copy everything from this load bundled avatar to your main avatar then you close it you can unload the bundle or whatever you want and that's the fourth step done so the fifth step is you go back repair avatar and you go fix missing pads animation missing pads so for this one you drag and drop your avatar on the left side of this game object right here then you go back in your avatar's assets folder in the animator controller folder and you'll see all the animator animator controllers for your avatar so we're gonna start from the action layer so we're gonna just press run fix and that's done the next one is additive layer and you press run fix and that's done then the fx layer and that's fixed then the gesture layer and that's fixed you usually don't need the locomotion to get fixed or anything like that you can just it's a free locomotion layer and you can just download it from google or wherever you want i think most people have it already so you just import it and you just use that you don't need to fix the locomotion layer so i'm just gonna not do that and that's pretty much it that's pretty much the avatar fixed and there you go you'll see everything is on its place everything the lip sync everything sometimes the lip sync might be not fixed so you might want to like double check this part and yeah so once you've done that and everything is looking okay you just go ahead and upload the avatar so this is how you rip and fix an avatar using aries and using unity and and everything so i hope this helped and yeah thank you for watching and i'll see you guys later
