Are We Keeping All The Baby Goats?

good morning everybody it's Brooke with Mrs cogill farm and I got to share a little strange information with you guys uh Jason put everybody up last night and he even fed the babies for me I was a little on the tired side and he got back home and he said I took care of everybody and I even fed your babies but there was one thing that would not happen and this is weird peaches would not go into her stall now we've had this Barn built almost a year or a little over a year and there's not been one night that peaches hasn't came to bed so y'all I think peaches may be turning into a pig so when I came to feed I came out here to find peaches in Mildred's stall where she slept last night now I'm not sure what's going on but um hey I think peaches may may be deciding that she is a pig after all hey babies oh goodness oh goodness comeo well today is a Monumental day for the babies because they are 6 weeks old y'all I mean six weeks old in Goat world is on the verge of being grown up they're still taking a bottle they are eating grain so they're trying to wean themselves and I'm not sure this goat mama's ready for that I so enjoy feeding these babies and cuddling with them but um I'm not letting them go and that being said what am I talking about I have little Curtis here I'm GNA call him big red now because he's the biggest of the three and little Laura and y'all I have debated on what I am going to do with these precious little ones from the time they were born three babies is is more than I expected I expected there to be two so that's one more than I expected but that's also one more than I have to make a decision about its future and I am here to tell y'all they're all staying I can't part with with any of them I just I just can't do it um when you take care of something for for as long as I have and you get attached to it you send it to a new home and you don't know its future and I can't do that to these babies they're um you see they're not they're not taking all their bottle anymore they've got a little bit left and they want grain but uh yep I'm keeping all three of them now as for the girls not to say I'm I'm not attached to them because I am attached to them but I haven't I haven't had so much oneon-one time with them now I have offered a very good friend of mine one of the girls and and um I'm not sure if she's going to take her or not but if she doesn't they're staying too I just have a problem with parting with things that have my heart and I can never raise animals to sale for that reason I come here baby little Red's trying to get in y'all's living room this morning I don't know if you guys can see it or not so I'm going to move the camera but see they're all three eating green and they are uh they're trying to wean themselves which is good I mean they can't stay on the bottle forever they can't stay on their mama forever [Applause] obviously biscuit you going to share it with them baby y'all there there are definitely differences in Bottle babies and Mama fed babies oh my goodness I don't know if this is going to work goodness gracious um these babies became bottle babies not because I wanted sweet loving babies of my own but because their mama was not able to feed them right Laura come here so yes that did in turn help me because now I have three babies that you know they're always going to be just this sweet but you got Little Martha here you see she's just I mean I can touch her I can put my hands on her but she's not like big red here she's curious she's Lara in this baby you going to eat the camera but it it's a difference it is definitely a difference that you can see come here baby see she'll come to me but I wanted to show you something on Martha that also Mabel has and if she'll you see under her chin you see that flap of skin hanging down y'all that is so characteristic of Joe it's it's it's very strange that both of those babies have that because their Daddy has it I don't think you got a very good look at it but is this Curtis yes this is Curtis Curtis said you can get a very good look at him if you'd like and Red's trying to chew on the camera here comes little Mara oh y'all let's see if I can't make this camera sit in another position but y'all to say that I love these babies is an understatement I mean they just they are so sweet so sweet and you see I got one of Capri babies Little Martha she's right back here behind me and mael come here baby but could y'all part with them tell me could y'all go through feeding these babies three times a day nurturing them and then find a new home for them could you do it Martha I can't do it y'all I just can't do it so there was a video that Jason made where he where I said um what animal did I want more of and my answer was cows but cows didn't didn't come to me licking the camera cows didn't come to me as easy as these babies did and I guarantee you if Mildred had a baby I'd have to keep it too and that's just part of it I just can't park with them who are you we going have to get you some sunglasses red you would look good in glasses let's say you w show them look at there I went to go check on Miss peaches to see if she had made it back to her stall yet and lo and behold y'all she's out walking around in the pasture I just don't know what's going on peaches what you doing huh what you doing I don't know what you doing you got a little mud on your face you sure are looking good though me make you a wallow you can roll around in the mud huh strange things happening here on the farm you going to roll over and get some belly robe time roll on over what's all that grunting about huh what's all that gting about all right well you're welcome to go back to your stall there's nobody in it it's all empty waiting on you you as we've been laying out new fencing for Mildred and Moody down the side here we had planned on putting barb wire down here to well save on the amount of work that would be done but that would leave this area back here that we had mulched when we first bought this property to grow up now I have Bush hogged it I have Bush hogged it a couple of times and yes that does take care of the the undergrowth but it does come right back and we're not going to spray it we've got honeybees here and too many insects that lives would be risk if we sprayed this entire area so Jason mentioned maybe we ought to get a few brush goats to fence in in this area over here so that it can be kept clean like this area over here right Jesse well why do we need to get brush goats when we've got Curtis big red Lara Mabel and Mildred we'll just put a gate in here and allow the goats to forage all over here and it'll end up being just as clean as this side so no brush goats needed just Brooks goats and Brooks goats can keep this area looking tidy now we're not going to jump on getting this fenced in because the goats have plenty of area over here and the boys will stay with the bucks until they are castrated which won't be until about age four or five months so Dr D says so they'll stay with the Bucks to prevent being bred with Bootsy and B peep we don't want that to happen but when they get to be big boys and they get fixed they can come over here and live with the girls and have this entire forested area as well as the pasture out front biscuit do you think that's a good idea you are so beautiful look at you you just want a little loving you are so beautiful yes you are well I hope you all agree with my idea to keep all the goats because it's happening I just can't do it y'all I just can't part with them you don't mind do you the more the merrier right [Music]
