Jamie's delighted as well he always says he'd much happier analyzing with you than playing against you that's a good line that's a good line great to have you with us Terry could this be another really exciting end to the season for Arsenal yes yes especially the way uh we've been playing since the beginning of the year the way we put pressure we don't concede the way we defend as a team you know people were talking about do we need a striker I was pretty loud on winning to put the ball in the back of the net that's very important but you know you you kind of doubt it a tiny bit as as as an Arsenal fan because of what happened last year because you know the two team that you're chasing been there done it used to play deep also in big competition can we do it but the way we are playing right now is outstanding the form has been incredible since the turn of the Year hasn't it tiar you must take great comfort on Arsenal fans in this ability suddenly as you say to to score goals as well as keep the out I just think that the story at one point was we we all know that the set pieces kept them uh in the title race at the beginning and not conceding we all know that and the front fre wasn't scoring enough goals but we were creating chances but now we are scoring them I think we were always there and about about sorry the the FA Cup game against Liverpool The Villa game away that we lost one nil we had chances you didn't putting the the ball in the back of the net and some of those games we scored some crackers you know to to to to to win them I mean okay you can see the six the five but we are right now exactly what you you you you would want to be is a well balanced team and the underlying numbers are really impressive as well for Arsenal and we just show you this table which is really a key performance indicator that a lot of clubs are now looking at this expected goal difference table which really measures the quality of chances uh that you're creating against the quality of chances that you are facing so so if you're a green that means you're in a positive number and Arsenal right at the top quite a big difference between them and then Manchester City and Liverpool you can see there are one or two teams that are outliers in this so Chelsea you would expect to be higher at the table based on on these underlying numbers Everton as well and then you see that sides like brenford ahead of Tottenham and Manchester United and West Ham way down here when they are much higher of course in the table so it's an interesting metric Jamie shows that there's something good happening at both ends of the pitch for Arsenal yeah and I think at times at the start of the season I doubted whether Arsenal could win the league because of the lack of goals but yes they've started scoring goals now but if if you have a problem scoring goals another resolution to that is basic or a solution to that is to be better defensively and that's what they and right now I think when I watch ARS I think they are probably the best team defensively not just in this country but maybe in Europe right now and you look at the three teams that we look at here Liverpool Manchester City and Arsenal you see the jump from Aston villea who having a brilliant season but that shows the quality and the why these three teams are fighting for this title and this is an indicator basically as you just mentioned but also when you think of Manchester City the last few years they've been top of that and the reason the top of that they go and win the league because they're the best team defensively and going forward so for Arsenal to be there right now shows they've got a great chance to win in the title certainly right now they have the best defense in the Premier League they've conceded the fewest goals and the few other statistics that that back that up as well you can see the fewest open Play Goals they've conceded the most 10 sheets clean sheets in the Premier League as well with 10 and also these bottom three numbers are key because what they're telling us is they're keeping teams away from their goal they're exg against the quality of chances they're facing the lowest figure in the Premier League the fewest shots on target face per game and they're denying touches in the opposition box to their opponents as well so tiry the the obvious question is how is Mikel Etta doing this with his team one of thing that you need to do as a coach is see the team that you have and I think Arsenal are their best especially because Mikel wants to play that way when they are higher the the numbers will tell you just just if you look at the the graphic you know the players like Saliba like Gabriel which I think as a as a partnership they are out outstanding but the way Arsenal plays
