all right guys how you doing it's rebir hope you're all good so this video is all about a brand new plugin from neural dsp who i'm sure you all know about if you're watching this video if you've never heard of them i'll put in the description box below but i'm sure you have and i'm sure you heard about the brand new release that they just brought out last week which is a collaboration with the mighty john proccucci when i found out that they were doing a collaboration with john petrucci i was genuinely blown away because i just didn't think that that was i guess i just didn't think that was a possibility and when i found out it was like that's insane and when i got sent the plugin to check out uh i was immediately just inspired i plugged in my jp15 had had to go and i was like this sounds like petucci obviously but this is immense and it just got me in a in a go to go on a binge with the old stuff that i used to listen to when i was younger and then i wrote that tune that i brought out uh on saturday that was all you know basically like a tribute to john and the kind of music that the suspended animation album that i listened to and he's playing and just i wanted to do that because i i was really inspired to to write a tune like that and thought it was a really cool way of doing it showing off all the tones in architecture if you've not seen that too and i'll put it in the description box below uh but you can check out if you want uh i thought it was a good showcase of all the different tones within the plugin but in this video i'm going to be going through the plug-in uh doing a bit of playing showing you some of my presets that i've made for the plug-in and a bunch of other artist presets including john petrucci's so if you get this plugin you'll get all these presets as well just to let you guys know this is a sponsored video nero will have paid me to check this plugin out uh and basically put it into context play through a bunch of the different tones and have it have a bit of fun with it any opinions of mine i'll leave to the end if i can but generally the purpose of this video is just to go over all the different features of the plug-in and have a little mess around okay so i've got a screen grab of archetype protucci that we're going to see in a moment and i'm just going to take you through the overview of the plugin and then we'll get stuck into some presets and terms okay so i've loaded up an instance of archetype proccuchi this is the default instance so this is how it'll look when you load it up uh let me take you through the functionality of it first the top row here is all the features so you've got pedals such as wire compressor then you've got your stumps in front effects and boosts your amp section your ir section your eq section volume pedal which is really sick and then your time-based effects section which is kind of simulating in the loop of the amp and these are simulating in the front of the amp if that makes sense in any case the next row is your input and output section your ios essentially so you can control your input a gate there's also the transpose feature here which i think is genuinely so sick you can transpose your instrument so you can essentially down tune a standard tuned guitar and get some filthy filthy drop tuned tones which is sick you've got a mono stereo mode next up we have the doubler this is a brand new feature um for archetype protucci and you can toggle it on and off and you've got the amount of spread between the two signals i think it takes a mono signal and sort of adds like a sample delay vibe it's really cool then you've got your preset section and then your output section then you've got the gui of the plug-in essentially the the amp itself and you've got all the controls on the front and they change depending on which amp you're using so this is the lead amp this would be the high gain rhythm amp this would be your clean amp and now we also have a piezo or acoustic amp which can turn your guitar into a sort of piezo acoustic vibe or if you do have a piezo pickup in your guitar it sort of just you know really works for that as well then down in the bottom you've got your tuner and you've got your midi section and as you can see i've mapped uh my ev1 bluetooth midi pedal um to be able to control the wire so that's really cool so we can do that as well okay so now it's time to give you a quick overview of all the different sort of pedals and features so we've got the wire pedal we've got a compressor i believe it's possibly based on the hyperluna from dark glass i think then we've got an overdrive which is like a tube screamer got phaser chorus flanger all very cool your amp section then we've got uh the ir section and something new about this well firstly the irs have been done by uh john petrucci's team of engineers that have created all the irs for this using his personal mic collection as you can see different mics than what we use uh used to seeing with the neural dsp plugin um but nevertheless awesome you've got your control section here but now we have a room section so you can actually get a little bit of air and vibe to your cab sound uh or just literally just solo it and use the room sound for vibe so that's really cool so the new eq interface i really like you've essentially got control over four different bands like low low mid high mid and high you can affect the frequency here and then you've got up to 12 db boost and cut so that's a really nice way of shaping your tone further the volume pedal which we will also map and have a little bears with later on and now finally the time based effects this is probably one of my favorite sections of the plugin because it i love ambience as you know um but the user interface is cool a different vibe here rather than pedals it's more like rack effects we've got a chorus which is a vintage in a digital mode the delay which i really love this crystal effect it's kind of like the ice setting on the strymon timeline that i love so very much um what's also cool is it's a dual delay with a cross feed the cross feed allows you to sort of send more amount of the left hand side delay into the right and vice versa you can create some really cool overlapping textures there and then the reverb section which has a shimmer on it an infinite decay and yeah basically it's just sick okay so that's an overview of the plug-in i figured for any of those who haven't used neural dsp before and wanted to know how it works that was worth doing but now we're just going to get into the tones doing some presets messing around with the plugin generally and just having a lot of fun okay so i figured we'd start with a strat which is probably a different approach putting on a kind of cleanish tone so we can hear all the sort of effects before we get more gain involved um just for something a little bit different so we'll start on the clean amp we'll leave the piezo amp until the end um almost basically work up in game but i really just wanted to show you all the pedals and the sounds first so boosted a little bit again on the clean this is how it sounds [Music] and i'm not really going to touch very much of this at the minute i'm just going to show you the sort of the different pedals and effects so first things first we'll do the compressor [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] so that's compressor right so let's quickly look at the stumps so let's just turn that drive down a bit do something like that so overdrive [Music] next phase it [Music] very nice chorus [Music] then flanger [Music] [Applause] [Music] so that's all the stumps in front and then i'm quickly going to show you the chorus in the back it's a lovely chorus now my personal favorite which is the uh delay [Music] so you can hear it there now let's turn up the crystals [Music] okay so i've given you a really quick demonstration of the effect with the cleans now it's all about just getting into the uh presets because there's loads of high gain presets as well so i just figured we'd start with clean and then work our way up so first one i want to show you is my uh breakup strat preset so let's have a look so i'm using the crunch amp on full sorry the clean amp on full uh i've also set it up with the overdrive i've actually sort of pre-set up a bunch of the effects and stuff in there if you want to turn them on um but yeah this is how it sounds [Music] so i love the way that sounds but if you want to really sort of juice it up a bit for on the overdrive so i mean it's not tons of gain as you can see it's really just to push it break it up a bit more rather than it being like high gain or like gainy i just wanted to get that sort of that sort of creamy would you really like if you wanted you could just go in the game see what happens [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] so next up i want to show you that i made three ambient presets because i figured if i was going to make presets it'd be rude not to do ambient ones because i love ambient music and playing in that way so i've got three they're ambient vibes one two and three utilizing the crunch amp on two of them in the piezo on on one of them but we'll start with ambient vibes one uh this is one that you can sort of noodle with and there's a nice little sort of bed of reverb and delay underneath so [Music] so that's ambient vibes one of course depending on the guitar you're using if you've got a humbucker and you put it in a blend mode it's going to give you a little bit more bite but that's the ambient vibes one we'll move on to emit vibes too this is probably my favorite that i made it's so much fun [Music] so the way i've set this preset up is to run a dual delay with the crystals really high up but the trick here is to run the wet signal on full so there's no dry signal coming in and what i'm doing is using the left hand delay in its fastest setting so that it almost pretends to be like a dry signal so it's it's really i mean there's a tiny tiny bit of latency but it's very accurate next up i want to show you my tight rhythm preset uh just to let you know that uh the preset that i actually submitted is the wrong one so they've actually updated it this morning which is monday so if you download the preset after today you'll have the right preset for tight rhythm under mine uh it's no big deal just to let you know but this is how it sounds [Music] that's without the tube screamer on so if you put the tube screamer on it's even tighter [Music] [Applause] [Music] thank you [Music] [Applause] last one i'll show you of mine is the slick lead and this is using the lead amp i've got the doubler on a bit of the crystals in the delay this is how it sounds [Music] [Music] so let's try the artist presets obviously the first one we're going to try is john perchucci let's go with as i am because you know why not so this is using the uh transpose feature minus four so down uh in normal it sounds like this we'll go down to four and this is where it was set here we go that's sick that sounds really cool let's try another one what else we yes glasgow kiss man i haven't played i remember trying to learn this when i was young [Music] oh my god that was a roast i haven't played like i just said i haven't played that since i was a teenager trying to learn that and failing miserably and still failing now but that is cool and it sounds like glasgow kiss so what's not to like moving on let's try someone else's presets okay obviously nollie let's go in let's try gargoyle why not [Music] [Music] so that's fun that's that's quite loud that one corey wong we'll come back to that i'm going to plug the strat in for that that's immense though jack gardiner why not go on then ambient textures [Music] nice okay i'm just skipping for a load of these because there are so many so many artists to choose from matthias let's try leads for days why not [Music] again feels great it's a definitely a good lead one all right let's move forward pliny let's have a look tell you someday lead interesting [Music] ah hey [Music] [Music] well that one's cool that really does sort of capture the essence of sort of pliny's tone which is awesome considering this is jp's plugin whatever but you know that's that's cool um right tim henson from politia boomer bender okay why not [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] insane i quite like that one that's loads of fun is that made me a boomer bender so there are a couple of the presets i wanted to show you the piezo one because i made a piezo one uh and considering we haven't looked at the piezo ramp yet i figured it was worth doing so piezo mode this is what we have as you can see on the screen grab [Music] [Laughter] [Music] so [Music] i mean i love that it it makes you want to play like i'm no flamenco guitarist or anything anything like that but like it feels that way out [Music] okay the last thing i want to do by certainly no means least firstly we're going to load up some corey longage what we got corey wong stratocaster [Music] [Music] okay cool so i've got the ev1 it's mapped on the floor and i've got my strap breakup vibe going [Music] let's throw on some wire [Music] [Laughter] [Music] is let's gain it up a bit [Music] [Music] oh [Music] another thing i wanted to show you guys was if anyone's like me and when they loaded this up they were like inside messing with the ir section thought it was quite different started feeling very different it's because obviously different team of engineers creating the irs and we're used to using nollies within the neural dsp stuff so for me at first i was like yeah these reacting differently to where you know i just felt like it was a bit different so i wanted to hear the sound of the amps from a reference point that i was comfortable with or knew better so i used the ggd plugins with the amp section from architecture to have a listen to the amps first before getting to know the ir section of the plugin and making the presets um so i thought i'd load up the type rhythm preset that i made [Music] nice and thick what i thought i'd do is turn off the um one side and then load up this ir that i made so i could hear the difference right [Applause] [Music] [Applause] that ir is a one that i made using the uh ggd studio cabs and made a little meld together and then exported it to using this plugin it's interesting because it sounds more scooped compared to where i'd had it before but that's i guess because i'm i'm using my own ir so you know you can boost some of that stuff back in [Music] so yeah that's using your own irs obviously everyone's eyes are different but it's cool that you can do that all the same and it's nice to um change it up a little bit but yeah i guess that's about it okay so i'm sure this video has been way too long because there's so much stuff in this plugin and i tried to make it as concise as possible but these things always happen i talk too much and the video becomes really long in any case that is archetype petrucci by neural dsp and john petrucci and i just i love it personally i think it's fantastic it captures the essence of picchucci his tones and everything that he goes for in his music and that's why i was immediately inspired and made a really cool tune that i'm very proud of out of that so for me that sold the plug-in to me i was just like if i've been inspired to create something like that that i'm really enjoying then you know that means it's good in my opinion i think it's the most in-depth plugin that they've done across the board there's way more features than any of the plug-in let's be fair four amps all those effects it's such an in-depth array of effects as well with different modes and all the rest of it all the wire and all the rest of it volume pedal like there's so much stuff in this plug-in i think it's the most thorough in-depth one that they've ever done and if you want just an all-rounder i would say this is really good because you've got a acoustic cam a clean amp a high gain amp and a lead amp and i suppose if and i think they're based on obviously petrucci's amps and they're very messer feeling um they've got that squish to them which is really nice if you like that way out especially the cleaner stuff i love it i think it sounds fantastic with a strat you gun the game you get that bite you can get all the high gain rhythm and lead tones in that you'd ever want because i mean there's so much gain in these amps there's so much uh shaping that you can do just in house it's it's fantastic i'll put a link in the description box below but i wanted to say a huge thank you to neurodsp a huge congratulations and thank you to jp for his amazing inspiration and contribution to the world of guitar and obviously bringing out this plug-in with neural dsp i think it's awesome so congratulations and thanks for making awesome guitar too because it's a really nice guitar to play in any case that is the video so let me know what you think in the comment section i'll leave all the links in the description box like subscribe and share i've been rubia and i'll see you all very soon [Music] [Applause] [Music] you
