arcane jace is a really cool character and also because everyone and their mother has already sculpted jinx let's get our classic spear out here and then let's immediately replace it this is the only ingredient that you need for a perfect base mesh and i'm just duplicating this mesh by uh using my gizmo and then ctrl shift dragging any of the transpose handles make sure you've got your pure ref open with lots of very informative images i have this button on my ui it's pretty neat because i hate it so much when you have a spotlight image you can't do anything sculpting is brokey cool love that for us thank you zbrush off great uh when i'm blocking stuff out i always have projective off pers projective projective perspective off because i don't want to have an experienced worldview i want to be very close-minded about the way that i'm sculpting lesson time i get asked a lot about apos and t-pose and which is better i like to think of it in more of the give-and-take way the higher up that you have the arm positioned the more control you have over the armpit deformation and the lower you have it positioned the more you have control over the shoulder this pose i wouldn't i mean worse this is a sculpt so like a lot of what i said doesn't really matter we're going to adjust so much of it anyway like once we pose it we're going to resculpt a lot it's a good thing to consider regardless and i want to do as little work as possible that's that's the name of the game here whenever i do the hit mesh it always ends up looking like a diaper for a while but if you can move past it like this and actually this is for a future video whoa that is totally your call i like to split up the face into different poly groups and that makes it easier especially later when you're trying to sculpt like around the lips and stuff you can just select the polygroup don't forget to poly keep your mouth bag for that fat room mesh coming up gonna save you a lot of trouble oh look at that halfway we're going to duplicate that again rotate it whoa that looks like an eye all right cool we got two lids now let's rotate the upper one make it a little bit larger than the lower lid so that there's no z fighting it's a little easier to swell so there we go we have an eye i'm going to keep the lids as part of the body mesh and the eyeballs actually separate forever they're separate forever now i use snakehook when i'm sculpting now i i don't use moon don't don't you know now snake cook is my best friend my only snake but you know i don't even see a need for the other brush in the program i know that's blasphemous that's okay that's pretty extreme i've kind of radicalized on sneaker i thought you know what that's [ __ ] good enough who cares this is all made up all right if you're ever like oh my 3d model is like whatever just remind yourself that your entire career is made up it's all fake none of these people are real none of the 3d models are real the stakes could not be lower most of this is going to go away when we remesh so you want to like have detail in there so the rematch will get the idea of what you're going for but don't over commit don't overstay you know don't don't overstay when you're split pushing top lane as jace and your team needs you at the dragon okay what i'm doing right here i like to call a motivational detour i'm not going to be keeping the poly paint on the eyes or anywhere on the body because we're going to do this in substance but it'll make it a little bit more clear to me what the model is going to actually look like when it's textured and everything and plus it makes me feel a little bit better about my progress and just looks cool and you can feel good so take those motivational detours oh another cool thing you can do is be good at sculpting first of all alright our forums are looking pretty good i think it's time to combine our base mesh into one mesh what dynamesh kid we're not gonna need dynamesh where we're going all right here's the plan do exactly as i say hit w to activate your gizmo once there you'll see a small gear icon click it inside you'll find a ton of options forget them i have no idea what most of them do what we're looking for is remesh by union third column fourth from the top this feature will activate a function turning your mesh into frankenstein's monster don't panic from here make a hard right to your geometry tab where you will find z remember pick the lock and enable same and keep groups disable adapt because we don't adapt we survive this is zbrush remember your training and hit the kill switch z remesher agent can you handle that [Music] okay sometimes you lose more detailed receiver measure if you aren't happy with your result you can always undo the remesh duplicate your subtool see your mesh again on your original and project the detail from your copy for me it depends on how much i've lost with my mesh but some detail loss is to be expected i'm just
