hello everyone welcome to part two of my Basics guide to applied energistics so as you can see I've already done quite a bit of this so this is going to be a follow-on from part one so if you've not seen part one that will be linked in the description make sure you go watch that one first uh that just gives you the basics of everything else this one is specifically for auto crafting so let's uh let's get on with it so we're going to start off by doing uh pattern Grid or whatever it's called pattern encoding terminal so we can again we can stick this anywhere on here so I'm going to stick it right there and this gives you the same sort of look as the crafting terminal let's have a look at the this one the recipe it is a crafting terminal with an engineering processor and what this allows you to do if you have some patterns which are these things right here if you put the patterns in this slot right here you can actually use jei if you if you can you could just do that and you can program a pattern in and you can encode it just like that so that pattern there we don't have everything in there so it's probably not useful but crafting table that sounds quite useful doesn't it so if I were to hold this in my hand and shift and right click it does clear the pattern you can put it back in and you can make yourself a pattern like that so these patterns are used in a pattern provider what I just programmed in so we're going to grab one of those and we are going to put this for now we're going to put it right there so that's connected to the system so if you look in here there's nine patterns that this can take by default there are extra mods that like add more pattern slots but yeah so we're going to put that pattern in there but it's not actually going to do anything because it's got no way of crafting that so what comes in after that is a molecular assembler so what this is is basically a crafting table you can actually put the pattern in this and it will like act as a thing that you can craft but if we look in here let me get rid of that there you go um fingers crossed I've got enough it's not going to export into here oh it is okay let me grab some more planks there you go and you'll see right here I've got crafting table right there I'm actually going to change this so you can change the sort order of all of this I always like to put mine on number of items and then descending so it shows me what I've got the most of and it also puts all of the crafting patterns that we've got right at the bottom unless you've already got a crafting component already in your system so if I were to click on this and I say yes we can't do anything because we do need tpus like that's basically the processor to say like what am I doing with this this is the brain so actually let's let's make a CPU it's not how you do it so here are the few different CPUs there's the crafting CPU 1K crafting storage there is a co-processor i know I'm going to get flamed in the comments for this but I don't actually really know what coprocessor does I think it means that you can do more things at once so it will use the storage to do more things at once but you don't actually need a co-processor so I can get rid of that as long as you've got crafting storage this is basically the brain for this to craft into so what it actually does is it stores all of the items that you're about to use so in this case we are going to use some planks if we were to request I don't know a thousand crafting tables here and we had enough planks it would store all a thousand in this storage crafting storage and use them up one at a time until it's it's done with it that's why you need a crafting storage co-processor I believe just means you can do multiple things at once so if we had a recipe for example like this so if you have the oak plank recipe let's do that now this one right here we get a pattern patterns by the way are created using glowstone so you do need glowstone before you do any of this so if we make that pattern recipe we put that in the pattern provider over here I'm going to put it first it doesn't matter what order these go in and then if I grab some logs get 64 logs and we put those in and I take out all of the oak planks if I were to create this crafting table right now so if I say one crafting table please it would need to do two crafts it would need to craft the oak logs down into Oak planks and then the oak planks into a crafting table so if I hit start on that we can actually see it in the corner there it's too quick for us but you can see it in the corner there it I'll tell you what I'll do a bunch more of these so if you do have something in here which has got a crafting recipe all ready for it you'll see it's got the little plus icon right there and if you actually already have multiple of these so say we had I don't know crafting people we had an extra 64. you can see it's got the little plus so if you wanted to make more of these without taking all of these out like that and then clicking on the crafting table what you can do instead is you can middle click on the crafting table right there or whatever recipe you've got so if you middle click it automatically goes to the how many do you want to craft screen so we want to do I don't know let's do 16 for example we could do next it's going to use 64 planks which is 16 oak logs to make us crafting tables so if I hit that you can see it down in the corner here this is using some power and it's converting all of the logs first into planks and then eventually when that's finished oh no it is it is also doing the crafting table as well and these in but that should have made us an extra 16 crafting tables also at the top here you've got all of these different recipes right here so if you've just crafted that like if I come out of this screen and I go back in you'll see that that's gone but that's super useful if you've got crafts that are ongoing so again if I do I don't know 10 of these you'll see that these are always at the Top If you've got a whole inventory full of stuff and all of your crafting recipes are like right at the bottom for example and uh you you can't scroll down it's really useful to just see that that's working you also have the crafting status so again I'm going to do another 10. hit start and we can see it actually crafting via this crafting stairs that's from the crafting terminal so it is important to mention that each one of these so I've got a crafting storage and a co-processor right here again we don't need that but each one of these you can actually if I put another one next to it that's 2K so there's 2K of crafting storage but that counts as one like CPU I think is how they they sort of talk about it whereas if I put one here because this is not touching this I know it is in the corner but it's not like multi-blocked with it this technically counts as 1K crafting storage and another 1K crafting storage now that is quite important because I'll show you if I do that and I get let's get a bunch more oak logs if I try to craft some crafting tables for example let's do 16 and I hit start and I also try to craft some planks I can't because I don't have any processors available so each one of these you set up so I'm going to put this one back over here that's probably already finished no it hasn't so if I do next it's doing what I was doing two crafts at the same time you can actually see the different CPUs right here you can have a bunch of them if you want I always just go for four because I don't know I'm lazy and I don't want to set up more CPUs now not only can you do just regular crafts like that I'm gonna get rid of this export bus on the top of the Furnace and I'm going to put a pattern provider on top of the Furnace now these are actually quite clever because even though it's connected to this right here which is technically an inventory it's also connected to the furnace so it kind of sees the furnace as the thing that it's going to put into so instead of the molecular assembler that we've got right here is going to put into this furnace and to do furnace things let's do uh iron for example if I click on that I go to smelting there's a heck ton of stuff that you can smelt to get iron in this pack I must admit so if we just try and find raw iron wrought iron there is so we can encode that get ourselves another pattern it's actually kind of useful to set up the pattern for patterns it sounds like a meme but it's not it's actually really useful so I'm going to just make 64 put them in there so if we take this now one raw iron is what we're going to put into whatever processing machine that we've got and one in Inger is what we're expecting to come out of that processing machine so in this case the processing machine is a furnace so I can stick that in like that if I get myself some Raw raw iron like this stick it in now if I go to the iron ingot I can middle click on that and I can say get me 10 iron ingots and what it will do is it will recognize that there's a pattern for that and it will send nah it would send 10 into there if I wasn't missing some channels right here but unfortunately everything is going off the same cable this is another thing that I'm not going to cover too much in this tutorial which is channels you can only have eight channels off of these glass cables that we've got right here so in fact what I'm going to do is I'm going to move this there we go we've moved it so it's coming off of this cable instead so this has got three channels right now it's using the import bus the export bus and the pattern provider so I did put the pattern in there I did put the planks in the export bus right there so now if I were to come over here and request 10 iron ingots it has sent 10 over here how cool is that so that's really cool and awesome and everything but there's other machines that you can do the exact same thing for so for example we've got the inscribers over here this is always a good one to automate as soon as possible because then you can automate the machine that you can automate stuff with right which is the pattern providers because the pattern providers do require the formation core and the annihilation core and if you remember they require the logic processor so I'm going to quickly go over how you make the different patterns for these and uh I might snake a cable all the way over to here and uh actually I might do it from down here instead let's get rid of that I'll snake it over my my whole growth accelerator thingy land it on top of this and then we can craft some of the processes whenever we want so here are the basic processor recipes so if I were to click on the printed silicon right oh yeah I'm in creative mode but if I were to look at the recipe for this and hit the encode pattern this is where a lot of people like fall down a little bit that's because the inscriber Press goes in there but the inscriber Press isn't used up so the recipe if you were to request one of these printed silicon it would fail because it's like well I don't have a load of inscriber presses so what you can do is because you know if you put a silicon into the inscriber here with the inscriber Silicon press you do get the printed silicon you can just say the input for this machine over here is a piece of silicon so you can get rid of the inscriber Silicon press and the output that we're expecting is the printed silicon we can do one of those so that is the pattern for the printed silicon there we go I just tied in my inventory a little bit again you can do the exact same thing with the calculation processor get rid of the press do the exact same thing with the logic processor get rid of the press to get rid of it use shift and then click and it just gets rid of it on that and then the last one is the engineering processor which I just need to do one of those which does use diamonds as I said so once you've got those you can stick those in the respective inscribers so I'm going to put printed silicon in the one with the Silicon press luckily I do have Jade installed which is what that thing is at the top of my screen right now and it does tell me which press is in which so I know that that one's the calculation I also set these up in the same way like as all the time so I already know which ones which order these are in so now that you put those in you might think well that's not great because you also need the processors but you can also program those in so to make those it's actually even simpler because you can just click on that and that's the recipe that's all you need because you just need a printed calculation circuit redstone dust and some printed silicon right there that's all you need and the output is the calculation processor so always think of it as like this is what you're inputting to the recipe and this is the expected output of the recipe so for the logic processor we're going to do the same and for the engineering processor we are going to do the same as well and that is what the fifth one over here is for this has got no press or anything you just stick each one of these in I'm actually going to put them in order that I like now if I were to get some cable I'm going to just quickly snake this all the way over so we have to get up as well don't we flip it back and I have to be careful there because of what I talked about earlier the uh the channels so if I do one of these one of these this channel is like completely free each one of the sides of the block has eight channels that you can get out of it I mean technically you can get 32 out of it but again I'm not going to go over channels in this uh this uh little beginners beginner's guide but so that snakes over and comes down to here so now we should have access to create all of these things so let's get some silicon to begin with I don't think I went over how you get silicon but the way that you get silicon is you smelt some Sutter squats dust not every pack has this where you can smell nether quartz but I think every pack that has applied energy sticks has the recipe for silicone B the escorts dust so that's why you need certain squats like everything because you also need the Dust for the Silicon so I'm gonna grab a stack of that I'm gonna get some diamonds let's get I don't know a stack of diamonds that'll do gold we'll just chuck all of these in our system again these are all going into the chest back here not into the the drives and the last one is certain squats stick that in there as well so we have all of the components we need to make each of the individual processes so I'm going to request 10 logic processors oh I didn't get the Redstone Dust amazing that's really good as well because it does tell you what you're missing so I'm going to grab Redstone Dust now I'm going to request 10 logic processors and you can see everything is good on that end and you can see it all processing so what that is done is it's put all of the Silicon in here and the weird thing is I forgot to do something didn't I brilliant I forgot to uh have an import for all of these items so to do that the easiest way I can think of because again we are running against the channels issue is I'm going to have an import bus one of these I'm going to stick that I think it connects to yeah it can't connect to the front of this that's fine I'm going to stick that on a chest right here so if I grab a quickie chest put that right there this will just save on channels because uh yeah channels are a bit of a pain so I'm gonna get some Hoppers because you can hop her out of these and I actually need to go down into here first hop her in like that oh I didn't put the Importer on import into the system right and that is just connected off the pattern provider so all of the silicon has already gone into the system but these printed logic circuits have not now this is a really nice way of doing it right here where you basically tell all of the outputs of these to go into this chest and that way you only need to use One Import bus you could use an import bus on like the back of one of these or the side but you'd have to use an import bus for each individual one each import bus will be a different Channel and then that would be 10 channels on the same side of one of these uh me controllers which we can't do right now you can turn channels off by the way but as you can see these uh these have got the printed logic circuits what this did was this put the Silicon in and printed it all up the hopper then put it in the chest the chest imported it into the system same thing happened with the logic circuits so the gold went in here got pressed went all the way through these Hoppers into the chest over here which is what this is doing by the way you can actually see it come in there it is so the um printed logic circuit went all the way through went back into the system when it had everything it then put all of that stuff into the last inscriber that we've got over here and uh it already had the Redstone so it was just waiting on all the other components lobbed them all in here that produced us a ton of logic processors cool right I think this is probably where I'm gonna end it for today because that does show you a little bit about how you can use wow you can bypass channels you can do a bit of crafting it shows you the inscriber presses shows you the charger explains all of the stuff for the Flawless budding how to set up a basic storage system I will just show you that you don't actually need the chest here either so we can get rid of this cable completely and you can still store things in here so I can store all of these patterns uh but obviously everything in this chest is not connected to the system right now so I showed you the storage bus the import export pattern providers yeah I think that's everything I'm going to cover in this video if there's anything else you would like me to cover from ae2 I will admit I'm not the best with ae2 I'm more of a refined storage person but I will try my hardest to try and figure out a good way of explaining stuff I already need somebody to explain P2P to me at some point that's still on the books I might do a live stream of that at some point but yeah if you have any questions please let me know I have a Discord which loads of people in my Discord are like fanatical about ae2 so if you've got any questions they will be happy to answer them if I can't I also have a patreon I might as well plug that as well which is uh I do have a server so this right now is a single my single player for all the mods nine and I have a bunch of servers actually not just one server the pillpo server project and what that is is basically we rotate new servers in and out new mod packs in and out of rotation so right now we are about to launch in all the mods 9 server so if you are interested then the link will be in the description and the same with the Discord the link will be in the description any questions let me know thank you for watching thanks for joining and I will see you in the next one bye
