fighting out of the blue corner wearing black trunks with yellow trim handling from ugely nigeria he weighted at 199 and one quarter pounds he also is undefeated in his campaign with a record of 11 wins no losses all 11 wins coming by way of knockout please welcome the undefeated world rank cruiserweight contender introducing the nigerian pitbull and number four in charge now the instructions luck [Music] it should be interesting brandon glatton former defensive end at albany state in georgia started boxing at the age of 21 turned pro at 29. so again he came late to the sport fe apoche was a long time amateur 55-6 as an amateur captain of the nigerian boxing team so he is 33 so both are older guys uh with not a lot of fights but they have yet to lose and clanton as i mentioned earlier comes in with a chip on both shoulders says he feels disrespected by the way it was put together saying hey i'm not the opponent this is not a side b side this is a fight we'll see i agree with that brian uh you know gladden glenn's got a good record he's uh a smart fighter he he actually has a nice variety of punches um and he thinks a lot of himself now that being said apoche does have tremendous tremendous power but he makes a lot of mistakes according to so let's see if he can capitalize on that and they've got thick bodies too so they can take punches as yeah well is a big strong man there's no question and he was 288 as a nose tackle defensive end playing football so he's trimmed down now to get under the cruiserweight limit of 200 pounds but you can see the physique so normally comes in and he is the harder hitter and he certainly has a little more um thump you would think but it's a very strong figure in that ring right there yeah put together a three-punch combination and that's what he said he pulls out with he's had success here in the first minute and a half yeah porchy needs to move his head a little bit more instead of keeping it upright and you know i'll show some show some fakes and some faints glenn told us look everybody sees this guy he's a hard hitter i see a guy who has his hands pulled back when he froze he's flat-footed he says i see guys afraid to fight him i will not be afraid and he's been true to his word the first two minutes absolutely and the thing is got about four inch reach advantage as well you know i like what uh i like what clanton is doing he's actually coming back with a three-punch combination and it works for him after approach he throws his punch he comes back with a three-punch combination glancing and catches a forte he knows what he wants to do he keeps a tighter defense and a nice camera like that he's really smart you're right fundamentally sound defensively and able to answer and that is not what you expect from when you see a guy as a former football player in college you see a lot of decent fighters come out have it converted but it's difficult to replicate that amateur pedigree so far clinton is successful well as brian was mentioning brandon glanton played football at albany state he played there for two years he was 288 pounds when he played he got up to 328 pounds in the offseason there you see a little bigger brandon clanton there he said that uh actually in his second year he called his football coach said i'm not coming back i am going to pursue my dream of becoming a boxer he went on to compete in the amateurs reached out to the garcia family trained under robert garcia now he's got jason jones in his corner but mikey garcia still advises him he did know he finished up those degrees even got an mba from peyton state said apoche thinks i'm a small man he is mistaken and he is in for a lot of trouble here tonight heidi thank you good points there uh very interesting in that joel knox that was a very good first round for brandon glenn you better believe it he won that first round and see what's happening right now he's backing up apoche which is usually not the case so clinton's got his respect already and to tell you the truth when when approaching touches he counters every single time somewhere like that see he's gonna fire back and if you don't get your hands back quickly he's gonna catch you like he's done with the punching a few times you know and the style and the technique is there for glenn as well and you pointed that out joe in the first round normally again you see here's the accomplished amateur that's approaching here's the former football player who's doing his best but came late to the sport glenn doesn't look like that guy looks like a guy with a real amateur background the way he's you know defensively responsible and putting together very good combinations you're absolutely right because you get that uh from just you know the amount of fights his head that he had some extensive amateur career because it's very precision his his uh offense and defense very precision well you know the reason why because he studied the sport uh wisely he's doing the right thing he throws his combinations he's actually throwing his hook with with power still dangerous he can hurt you with one punch and that can still happen but right now the slickster in here looks good look at the repertoire from clayton as well jaws you're saying that he has to run hooks to the body uppercuts with both hands he is showing a very nice repertoire a punchy now tries to answer back he's going to have to get more aggressive here brian he is being outboxed i'll tell you the more aggressive approach he gets the more he's going to open himself up to those cute little counters that glam's got right now and i'm gonna tell you this i don't know i'm curious to see what's gonna happen in the next few rounds this is a this is really a dangerous fight for both guys i like the weight by apoche i like the way clanson keeps his hands up yes uh he keeps him up high he's protecting himself he's not getting hit with no silly shots which is good and he's you know his repertoire and his left hook is great you see that counter approaching through a left hand to the liver and glendon immediately countered with a left hook of us over the head beautiful good hard-hitting cruiserweight action brandon clanton oh man a pleasant surprise here angels with the hook he smiles as he moves forward [Music] we are underway here in round number three an impressive opening two rounds as brandon clanton gets to work right away here answered now by fa apoche in the black trunks he is in the black and yellow brandon glanton in the black and red as you see them firing back fight in a phone booth these are cruiserweights both undefeated and brandon glatton who has struggled to get fights through his career gets an opportunity he said it's important when you get your shot you don't blow it and so far joe lenox he has really been impressive and he's opening two rounds extremely impressive but i gotta take it these two guys are put together literally like like uh granite statues they're and they're both going for it right now this is a great fight this is the type of fight i'd love to see now the last thing i'm going to say is uh approach has got ronnie shields in his corner believe me he's going to make some adjustments during this and it looks like the porch is making some adjustments it's a great fight the approach he needs to make some adjustments especially defensively after he throws his combination he kind of watches his work examines his work when he should be thinking about defense and moving and i want him to be a little bit shorter he's up too high especially his chin too high in the air and he may get caught with a hook well then that's the thing because good body shots there by approaching he's able to follow up as well with an [Music] as he starts to let his hands go now he's asserting himself in this third round approach it comes off a knockout in a what was known as a wba eliminator in his last fight dion nicholson and it looked like this was the guy headed to the top ten and maybe a title shot very soon brandon clayton has other plans for him exchange hooks again it's amazing the great shots have taken the punches got several times from this knockout puncher and vice versa they're both absorbing these punches which is just amazing these are not right-handed guys these are heavy-handed guys who really know what they're doing but man i gotta tell you the surprise tonight with his counter punching skills joe what do you think uh poetry should do uh defensively well look i mean it's kind of late to teach everybody everything he drops his hands a lot and he pokes his chin up a lot and the great equalizer is his power but right now glenn's taking advantage of that and and i guarantee ronnie when you punch you've got to get your hands back because you're getting countered every time so during the course of the fight he's i'm sure gonna get more and more advice as this goes along however long it lasts a much better round here for fa approaching who has been much more active [Music] last time out let's go back to his fight an impressive one against dion nicholson yes exciting fight so far and now we go to round number four poche much more impressive in that third round first two uh it appeared went to brandon who came in and showed immediately that he belonged to this ring with the rising star good body shot there and then moving to the head you know you remember in the fighter meetings fellas we were talking to him and player had said hey look opposite would not take a step forward on sunday and i thought oh come on man really he's not going to take a step forward i asked him you really think you can fight on the inside with this guy and he said i live inside he's made all this happen i mean it's not like he's dominant but he has made this happen and forced to poach it to back up you're absolutely right and i'll tell you just caught about 10 seconds ago [ __ ] glenn with a great right hand and he absorbed it good but he felt it and uh you know if if poachy keeps landing that he might break down a little bit that he lost no question joe yeah that round three much better for a poaching but again this is the test you're gonna fight someone on the way up that's gonna test your will and your resolve apoche finding that now [Music] very good who is the big heavyweight six foot five a heavyweight nigerian star the chocolate by the way now 15-0 we're gonna see him pretty soon in the ring again spars with a jump bot regularly is seeing a real nose tackle in front of him now and the guy who knows how to box yeah unfortunately he's working that jab and that is very good he's keep on touching him with the jab and you can hear rodney's shield shouting now touch and touch him after touching him he's coming with that right hand which is great this is what he needs to do he needs to throw that left hook or body punch after that you know a little less snap on the punches from brandon glenn now absolutely they're not as crisp as they were early going absolutely i'll tell you what a poachy start to land a little overhand right he's starting to bring the right hand up the middle a little bit uh but here comes glenn he'd be smart if he went to the body a little bit more and that went to the head you wonder if brandon gladden has enough energy enough stamina to stay in this fight fought very well so far that's through four the main event is coming up next david morrell mario kazarus of mexico former cuban amateur star against the unbeaten your middleweight and right here though we've got a real fight good cruiserweight action here fa apoche in the black and yellow brandon clanton in the black and red they have gone back and forth you see how close it is with the punches landed and i wonder if ron kenny here with linux lewis and joe goose and ringside i just wonder does clinton have the stamina to stay in this fight he's fought just three times in the last 20 months four of his last six opponents have had losing records so joe i'm just wondering does he have enough like does he built up to the point where he can face a world-class fighter like apoche and stay in it through ten rounds that's a great point and you know what i guess we're gonna have to wait and see a little bit uh because we're only in the fifth round but we are halfway through the halfway point and right now starting to really feel results i think he's taken the best shots of glam and glenn has yet to take the best shot of the poche so we'll see what happens when he does get hit with that best shot from approach but right now it's still it's still a very competitive fight and glenn is still doing a lot of good work here but apoche just seems like he's gaining confidence right now it's a lot it's not as crisp as it was earlier uh clayton though let's see if he can keep that energy rising linux how do you see it so far what are you reading from there at ringside yeah i'm saying that uh clanton is keeping his hands up nice and he's moving forward he's not really getting hit no solid shots right now and i like the one i like the way uh apollo is throwing a lot of punches you know this is you know sometimes this a little bit high what he needs to be doing is just bending down a little bit and keeping his hands up just like clanton we're seeing good combinations from both fighters in this fight and just as i thought that glenn looks like he's on the way somewhat he is throwing beautiful combinations and approaching answers so we're halfway through and we have an extremely competitive fight absolutely bright body shot there by glenn again yeah both guys are giving it their all right now so you know both guys are going to get tired and you could see apocry getting a little bit tired sticking his tongue out saying he's getting getting a breath right there but uh you know i don't think these guys are going to stop throwing punches tonight until it's over i don't think player wants to leave that left hand down though not with approaching the closer you get the more you see you want to keep that left hand up with the poacher you see [Music] you mentioned how his hands were up and responsible early and his left hand is now low it is action-packed here in minneapolis there's fa poche out of nigeria now living in houston he is being tested here tonight by brandon clanton of riverside california as we now move on hard-hitting action from the start round number six you see the punches landed it's extremely close let's go gary mizwa here i guess we're good to go marcos vegas we're so excited how do they have it so far so far through five rounds brian i have it 48 to 47 but it's really close especially the last two rounds i could see it the other way up 48 to 47 for a coaching but i like the work that glenn has done especially in the early rounds though he's looking like he's tiring a little bit he's not as active as he has earlier yeah i mean those first two rounds probably went to clinton i don't think there's a lot of doubt about that and then since then you've got some close rounds as both men have been able to land that was a little bit of a long shot there jones you're slowing down so it looks like he's listening to him and picking up the face on the other hand you know you have ronnie shields saying you got to use your jab and you got to slip more to approach i mean you know you got to move a little bit and he's going to win instructions tries to get in from the outside doubles up on the jab normally he's very active with that jab it's not very sharp but he throws it a lot uh but here against glanton he's just been under such enormous pressure it's been more difficult clanton weighs right in and gets into poachy's grill so you see what what what uh glam's doing the left uppercut now he finally went to the body see he throws the left uppercut left hook and he should drop right immediately to that uh to the liver uh i think he needs to go to poche's body a little bit to bring down his hands tire him out a little bit and take his legs away from him also pochi what a poachy does when he's against the ropes when glancing gets close to him he's doing a really smart thing by pushing him off the ropes pushing him away from giving himself some room to punch back and forth they go oh excellent shots by both fighters i'll tell you what sitting ringside right here you can hear these punches you can feel these punches and they are heavy and they sound heavy and believe me all these guys are standing up to it is incredible they're both taking tremendous shots good right hand by approaching [Applause] pushes them off and then answers right back apache is able to get his range now though he has less danger from distance as glenn has not been able to close the gap with his feet as he was earlier so just slowing down such a small thing but it makes a big difference [Applause] [Music] [Applause] how are you to me keep it down wow at the bell very close to the bell you see ronnie shields there in the corner that's the first time that fa apoche has been down let's take another look at how it all happened big hook and then the right hand and when you're on the ropes like that and you're being held up by the ropes that is a knockdown and that's when the bell rang so gary mizwa jumped in there but here it is again there's the hook well let's see if glenn can close the show right here wow because because i want he's recovered a second later shots the hook the right hand his first knockdown of apochie's career brandon glenn is at the precipice of a signature win biggest win [Applause] but he needs to keep his hands up and his down just really really taking his time look at chin stalking a poche he's not bomb rushing him he's not doing anything stupid and leaving himself vulnerable but he's really really taking his time going to the body and believe me [Music] another hook by glenn as he gets it on the inside he is going to the body he's been very patient well the poche is buying himself some time and he's already bought nearly a minute of this round there he goes that's it we're in round seven scheduled for 10. that was a big down though in that last round if approaching moves and keeps that jab going you know he can survive this round and he has to keep his hands up but he has to be smart right now a little less than two minutes left and [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] looks like he's winning this round [Music] i don't know i'm not body first bring that right hand down that whole quick apoche has been able to dance his way out of trouble in this round after he was rocked and dropped at the bell right into round six so he's done a good job there's a hook by clinton that is definitely on the hunt has shown good survival skills here in the seventh short combination run downstairs look he's got about 20 seconds left to close the show here he better serve him his hands go here the last few seconds of this round he has a real moment with his mouth open and [Music] here's the last round because every round has been like that and a poacher look i got to give him credit he fought back in that last round landed a good right uppercut there and uh you know he he's got the heart of a lion but here's that hook from glenn that he's been working all night a book she kept his hands up pretty good there this is a big round for a poetry right now vegas can make us oh [Applause] countering with the right hand he's still dangerous i like when the poacher's chosen to like the composure of fa apoche after he's knocked down for the first time in his career he survives and now he's able to fire back off no i'm saying i like how approaching throws that right hand when they're both against the ropes because he's really throwing the right hand to knock gladstone into both fighters their stamina will be tested i thought that clown would take a better punch than apogee right because approaches oh [Music] shots like that right back and move his head [Music] bring that right in down the middle oh boy with three close combinations approaches catching gladstone coming in as he throws the right hand they're both trading right hands at the moment you're gonna be a survival skills again in this round and he stands right in front of glenn and fires back not only survival skills he's throwing presence of mind to be able to move his hand and [Music] you know you glenn and then the right hand so many good shots landed and they are within five punches landed of each other 145 to 140 as we start round nine approaching with the slight advantage two rounds to go and it's uh you know i don't want to say who wants it more but who has more stamina for these last two rounds that's exactly what it is who wants it more because right now i mean you don't know how the score is going i think lands ahead right now but i mean apache has never taken himself out of this fight you got two rounds left and i gotta tell you and then brian they may be cruiserweights but they're really handling no doubt the hands come down from a potion that's dangerous a three-punch combination you see how quickly apoche can get back in there try to move his head again good combination there by clinton with the right hand let me tell you i like what he is fighting like a man with a grudge i like what a poacher's doing i like what poach is doing because he's keeping that job going the job is very important because it it gets clanton off balance a little bit you're absolutely right but what's going on i saw that briefly i'm sorry bro what clap's doing there's a hook at the end of the combination i was just gonna say joe there were punches landed was dead even i wonder how it is on the cards let's go to marcos vegas marcos how do you have it [Applause] punches or the more eye-catching punches when he hits it physically moves apochie and that grabs the attention of the judges good point but i like what approaches so he's got he's got it wide for clinton but again it could be reasonably close uh some of these are tough to score marcos though again if you just get two or three extra rounds you can have it wide how are these guys soccer action here in round nine we're not talking about feather fisted guys these are knockout punchers taking it so they got rock solid chins which is amazing and huge hearts and you know gladstone said in the fighters meeting that he's going to be going forward and the poaching is going to be going backwards oh no gary stops it so they can get that tape see there's a way to each get to catch a breath just as the action was really god reaching a crescendo there's a way to make that happen got 24 seconds left in this ninth round [Music] [Applause] another combination look at the portuguese moving back but he's firing digs into the body [Music] [Applause] [Music] i need i need you to give me more than one at a time brandon you got him you can knock him out this round but don't get carried let's chase me you understand [Music] [Applause] [Music] clayton and glenn for his part he has struggled to get big fights and make progress in his career this was a big breakthrough getting an opponent who was getting near the top ten he has made the most of it perhaps he is up on the scorecards he has a knockdown but it still is in doubt and just to give you an idea as we get into round 10. let's get this thing they're gonna have to get that tape again take it easy joe just to give you an idea the cruiserweight average is 50 punches per round and fan pokey is throwing 74 per round clinton 65 per round and to the point you were making earlier they're not just like looking at the jab they're throwing bombs and power shots this should not happen though this fight should not be delayed because of tape and there's a way to cure that and we'll talk about that another time but i gotta tell you i hate it i hate it let me tell you there's so much sweat in this in this fight nothing can keep uh sticky right now because it has this weight [Applause] there's a way to beat this so much at stake here in the tenth round are dead even in punches landed look at that just for a moment dead even playing for the body the potion takes a big step back and looks like he lost his footing and it looks like they're both immune to getting hurt now they're both landing huge shots down there's nothing happening anymore they're because they're used to it i tell you that that jab is landing a good right hand right [Music] you're not going to see another fight like this for a long time i'd love to see a rematch no matter who is this you have to remember these guys are undefeated right now so nobody wants to lose this fight so they're both giving it their all good point good point okay there's a minute left looked like he was fast tracked for success coming off a knockout win on the rise his power really world class looking like he was a future star brendan clinton in the shadows waiting for his opportunity has he done enough more i'll tell you what about a minute i love the jab that is doing the double jab because branson's walking drop his hands and stop for a second here we go we've got a 30 second combination there from glen as given the way he came into this fight hasn't been very active not against one class competition but he has proved himself worthy against an unbeaten fighter who is becoming a star [Music] 18 seconds [Applause] can he stabilize [Applause] i wouldn't be surprised if this fight is a draw boy i hope not ladies and gentlemen after 10 rounds of action we have a split decision to hear the score totals judge nelson vasquez scores about 96 to 93 in favor of efe tobor apochi judge of ringside john mariano scores about 95.94 in favor of brandon glanton and judge of ringside mike fitzgerald sees the action 95-94 in favor of the winner he is still undefeated bulletproof [Music] you hate to see either guy lose my sense is that the right guy got this decision split decision that close joe lennox your thoughts yeah i mean it was a close fight i love what brandon was doing he was throwing some great combinations and he was coming forward all the time and as far as uh apoche you know he came back he came back he was a close fight he threw some great jobs not [Music] the available happened and that was branding glenn really putting on a great performance doing some really efficient stuff to that ring of course apoche had his great moments but i i think that was the right decision in a row eight no stop it
