oh youtube what's up again my name is vivid and today we're putting on our reaction hat once again and we're gonna be reacting to jaiden animations the best pokemon game you've never played i reacted to jaden's last video and i just want to get this out of the way before we do anything else i've read a million comments saying that if i am reacting for a longer period of time from going off on a tangent i really need to pause that way i don't miss anything um so 100 i will do that i learned from my comment section thank you for giving me criticisms all right so with out of the way there are a few things i want to say before we actually get into this video first and foremost if you haven't already please go check out jaden animations her animations are actually incredible i love them i have found her through these pokemon videos but she just has a ton of content that is absolutely fantastic on her channel definitely recommend it will be the top link in the description down below also if because i realized this is probably a video i would want to react to so i want you to have the fresh reaction my bold prediction here is that the game the best pokemon game that you've never played as pokemon conquest i think conquest is a fantastic game and if you haven't played it i think it's definitely worth a play but yeah i know a ton of people in the community reacted to this already so i'm sure a million of you are already in the comment section telling me i'm wrong which by the way if you are already down in the comment section i would just like to ask you what is your favorite non-main series pokemon game so like not red blue you know xy the main series games but like the side series so like pokemon puzzle league or pokemon pinball or pokemon trozel you know there's a bunch of puzzle games but then there's also games like pokemon ranger pokemon mystery dungeon pokemon conquest what's your what's your favorite uh non-main series game okay let's react let's i just played one of the best pokemon games ever and i'm here to tell you all about it i'm a huge pokemon fan ruby was one of the first video games ever ruby had her fifth birthday okay so one this indicates to me jane's young two uh this is a good starting game remember owning and i've decided to devote the rest of my life and soul to the franchise and by that i mean i'll play the new games when they come out do i have to like that's yeah that's i think that's like most pokemon fans right like we we play the games when they come out and then we just uh go back to nostalgia and play the old games again no frankly i think the past few recent ones have been kind of garbage i don't know stop me from getting my hopes up thinking the next game will be different even though deep down pokemon but pokemon does have a few side games you might have heard of like pokemon mystery dungeon or pokemon stadium ooh pokemon stadium is a good one i think a lot of people played that though or that weird geometric one but there's one franchise that i feel like doesn't get talked about nearly as much as it deserves oh it's the franchise pokemon rangers all right so this i i don't think i've ever actually played a pokemon ranger game i think i've i think i vaguely remember using a stylus to circle something in a game once and then being like i'm done with this uh but let's okay i remember two things about it i liked it and circles okay circles yeah yeah yeah exactly i think i played the original pokemon ranger game because like it was the only way to get a manafie egg i believe back in the day and i was like oh i'm gonna i'm gonna do this uh and then i had to circle something way too many times i was like i'm gonna dip that's this isn't for me the flashbacks are beginning when i remembered pokemon ranger existed i decided to look it up and see if it was worth possibly making a video on and that's when i realized there were actually three pokemon ranger games pokemon i didn't know that i thought there were two there's pokemon ranger and then there's pokemon ranger shadows of something ranger pokemon ranger shadow of zamamia pokemon pokemon ranger mouthful but i digress i was looking at some forums of people just like this game that they thought was the best and the show that's no shrek seems to be high on a lot of people's lists so i bought the game okay so pokemon ranger 2 shadows of all i can't pronounce this omnia all meow whatever all mania um whatever omnia it doesn't matter it really doesn't matter this is the highest rated one good to know if we ever want to play pokemon ranger sit down and get comfy because i just played this game for the first time and i'm here to tell you about why it's the best game ever the game starts off with your character from the entrance exam to a pokemon ranger school and it only took me two years i couldn't do this circles around this barely moving pikachu you're dang right that's impressive i guess that's all it takes because now i'm officially a member of this secret army for this inscrutable team school that's a it's a low bar for an insurance exam it's just circle a pikachu five times you're a secret agent okay plotting to rule the oh he's just kidding yeah oh okay i'm introduced to my class and for some reason they've been like starved for new human contact or something because they're bombarding the teacher with questions are they a boy or a girl which is it is she cute so i'm introducing myself but apparently the teacher's attached to their teeth kid looking at me with a big grin anyway you go sit next to keith oh creepy just plop me right next to him yeah i don't mind or anything thanks teach anyways get a tour of the school from this girl with me meeting the other teacher mr kinsade who's apparently a stickler for making sure kids don't run in the halls isaac that rhythmy called mushroom hair as someone who was a high school teacher i always said don't run in the halls when i saw people running in the halls but i honestly never cared i just wanted to make sure that if anyone else like if any other teachers were around and they saw me seeing students running the halls that they saw me tell those students not to run in the halls i'd if the students ran in the halls they really didn't care but i just had to make sure that other people thought i cared okay yeah this is a tangent we're continuing both my iq and my height in centimeters are 163. not even not even 200 iq well you're taught how to capture pokemon with your styler loops portray the feeling of friendship so the more loops you draw around the pokemon the more it will submit to your friendship yeah exactly that's a little weird right it's nice and our fast asleep in the dorm is when all the students decide it's initiation time get up sleepyhead it's 4 am time for your student initiation oh no you get haze they tell you to find all four of the stylers they've hidden around the giant school and after doing so you have to put them in the basement for some reason so you head down there after finding them in the basement when why are you down here only i'm permitted to be in the basement leave now anyway isaac have you finished testing my very secret experiment no one can know about the rest of the school year goes on without any big problems pokemon ranger crawford comes and talks about what it's like to be a ranger you save the milkman from some b doof you attend a one day internship at the local pokemon ranger base and they make you bring so this is just everything happening during the school year also you had to save the milkman from badoof milkman probably not too hard probably a little bit of a soft guy if you have to save him from some badoof but okay their lunch is an important mission actually while you're at the internship someone runs over and says the pokemon on the beach are acting strange you go with the rangers to check it out to see all the pokemon going crazy and save the day by capturing them with your loops of friendship loops of love that's weird finally you make it to graduation jaden come up and make a speech as the class representative i wonder how long like in ga i wish i understood like how long it took in game to get from the beginning of being in school to the end of graduation it's an interesting thing i'm the class representative this is how the story goes well don't mind if i you start working at the pokemon ranger base you interned at there's a call about some more pokemon acting strange down in a nearby cave so your first mission is to investigate what's going on in the cave you stumble upon this weird missile looking machine that's it's amazing what's hypnotizing the pokemon in its vicinity making them go crazy so you destroy it and everyone's proud of you this professor hastings guy is called down from the pokemon union to take a look at the cave machine he's like a hundred years old or something because the rangers want you to go meet him halfway in paultown to make sure he doesn't get lost and die along the way take one step in town and oh god all the pokemon are going nuts turns out there's more of those rocket machines planted in the town and so it's like a team rocket reference like is is the the big spoiler gonna be that team rocket it can't be i don't think so i i don't think team rocket's ever been like in a side franchise thing but they are rocket shaped i don't know i'm confused the story of this seems pretty interesting so far you're going around smashing that also why does she have a baseball bat with nails that's aggressive you run into some guys that are not only very shady but also terribly shifty they're terribly smashing their stuff and further into the town you find them again with their admin who's like dude what the heck what do you have against seriously sketching your vandals treat things with respect and then attacks with rattata and a toxic croak not gonna lie their battle music kind of bangs though [Music] it bangs a little bit it turns out they're part of this gang called team dim sun and after capturing them like the dim sun is a type of food right am i wrong i'm gonna look up i'm gonna look up dim sum maybe not right now but dim sums food right loops they decide to retreat we're able to find professor hastings and bring him back to the base to analyze what we know dim sum rockets okay continue oh no he finds a tiny black crystal in the center that seems to be the thing that allows team dim sun to control the pokemon the base considers this a problem which is reasonable and now the pokemon union starts getting involved which is like the big head honcho of pokemon ranger bases where all the ranger prodigies are the story continues as the union tries to uncover more about what dim sun is up to and you keep in turn i have to what is dim sun yeah okay dim sum is chinese cuisine dim sun is nothing okay now i feel dumb now that i feel now that i feel really stupid we can continue interrupting their plans you catch them trying to drill a tunnel in the side of a mountain you catch them having a secret base and cargo ship in the middle of a volcano which mr kinsade has found to be part of dim sun big surprise didn't see that one you catch them mining hundreds of dark crystal shards in an abandoned mine that one was a bit of a problem because apparently there was the mother of all shadow crystals they are powerful enough to power this incredible machine there in the middle of this reminds me like ever so slightly of mega man legends there's like a if those games are like mega man side series games but the point of the game is you're like a miner and you're looking for these like big crystals and there's like the mother the mother lode is the mother of all crystals that can provide energy to the world again or something it's like a similar concept right also i just realized dim sun as in dim the sun make the sun go dim i'm really not smart okay moving on developing that they plan on using to control all the pokemon within a 500 mile radius they got their grubby hands on and helicoptered away to their headquarters 500 miles tell someone about that but the good thing is we ended up finding the diary of the dim sun president's father who writes about how if we gather these three gems called the tears of princes the gems will be able to come it's it's uh it looks like a ice a fire and electric i'm just gonna go out on a limb and say this is either tied to moltres zapdos or articuno or ante raiku suicune i'm just making that prediction now combine their power and negate the power of the shadow crystal that's got it right all right let's let's go do that the first gem is told to be in this giant ice castle called alamo castle and on the way there you run to dim sun grunts trying to stop you they're not hard to deal with and they start getting a bit frustrated what is the combat in this game like okay it looks interesting i'm kind of into this with the snowball you make it to the castle after swimming through a bunch of ocean boulders and whirlpools that totally didn't slow me down at all and end up at the castle where dim sun is already running around and trying to get the gem first these guys are blocked from going any further because this giant chunk of ice is in front of the door in the ground man that's a big hunk of ice if we made snow cones out of it we'd be able to feed like 403 people that's very specific it's a very specific amount of people to feed with the ice converting it into snow cones it's quick maths and then they see me standing there and all hey that outfit what are they called again pokemon ranger you came for a snow cone you deal with that whole situation and end up in the room just before where the gem is being kept where you're introduced to one of the members of team dim sun's sin is trio but he called me jaden noob and then so i had to murder him well i captured and freed his frostlast and he scurried away all well i didn't need the gem anyway after gaining the trust of the lucario guarding the gem with more of my loops the blue gems princess okay no articuno no zapdos no moltres i was wrong lucario was guarding it apparently also the combat one the combat in this game or in this game looks interesting two the story is really dope three i think i'm a little confused about like nobody actually catches pokemon they're all just like friendshipping them with circles anyways moving on is mine fast forward a bit and you get the red gem as well after defeating sinister trio levana and her information but she does do this sexy little dance the guy from school keith who's a ranger now was assigned to get the yellow gem and hasn't come back yet so the union's like all right jaden go check on him you hop on a boat to the destination but whoops apparently a wailord is in trouble i'll just go down there and see yep i thought so these dim sun grunts are trying to kidnap a whale lord and after destroying the machines that were trapping it they decided to just grab a whaler instead and try to convince their boss to their wailord mini you follow them on the rescued whale lord and start infiltrating their base down the hall you discover the grunts squishing the whaler through the door and as you follow them into the room they're like oh crap uh shoot do you want to deal with the ranger oh no i'm too wimpy uh i know let's apologize sorry the dialogue of this game seems immaculate like perfect it's it's actually really funny we got the rangers confidence charge and then drop a truckload of slack off on me after capturing all their slack off they're like oh no and then all of them turn it off grab me and shove me out of the room and yeah like which honestly is more effective than like 99 of all video game villains we keep running through the base and end up actually finding mushroom-haired isaac from ranger school he's been manipulated into building dim sun's incredible machine and we agree to take him back to the union after we finish up our business in the secret hideout we finally encounter mr kinsade who's manning the wailord operation he's being all maniacal but we successfully capture his glasgow save wilmer and bring isaac safely back to the union where he gives us access to the incredible ahead in machine story a bit we end up not being able to get the yellow gem because heath the last of the city's trio kidnapped keith and we exchanged him for the yellowjacket heath kidnapped keith this game is the naming the dialogue just big chef's kiss over and over again i kept trying to say no but i guess it's good we see the union makes a plan to have their top rangers go and fly to dim sun's headquarters and face them head-on jayden you can just sit in the corner and do nothing but right as they leave to do that this is trio busts through the union walls and are like hahaha we'll be taking this and steal back isaac because they need him to complete the incredible machine by midnight so they can activate the shadow crystal isaac complied because they threatened to kill his sister or something so new plan back and basically destroy the machines that were protecting their building incredible machine because oops i didn't mention this before but they turned their entire building headquarters into the incredible machine what basically just waltz right through the front doors of the headquarters that'll stop people from entering what how did you get in here and battle our way up to isaac who's like uh you're a bit too late i totally just completed the entire machine and they're about to use it to hypnotize all the pokemon in the region classic classic countdown well at least your sister's not dead so you run to the top defeating the sinister trio every floor of the way and grab the last tears of prince's gym and you get to the top where you meet the dim sun president blake hall for the first time and just like a new character in the third quarter like the last 25 of the game and we're just like just now meeting the official bad guy seems awkward also the joker's here which is neither here nor there he's like you're too late it's time for darkness get her noir and then i capture it immediately and he's like uh just kidding get her dark right and then darker i just started dipping me into darkness and keith has to come save me on his star after so dark cries like well then i'm gonna just dip these guys into the darkness and throws blake and his assistant into the void but i decide to capture and free darkrai anyway with the help of the tears of princes and save the day yay woohoo i'm a hero time to take a nap now pokemon ranger is a big game it took me about 24 full hours to get through the game so i had to leave out a lot that's a it's 24 hours is like because you have to think about like if you just like start to finish a pokemon game and you're just going at like a reasonable pace like a main series game 20 hours is pretty reasonable and this is like this seems like i would say even more story driven than most main series games so that's that's interesting i could be about it a lot of other points in the story there's even a bunch of side quests that are actually pretty entertaining and funny you can complete that help power up your styler there's one where this guy says he researches smells and wants me to bring him the stench of him so you do it and he's like yes and puts it in a jar then later on in the game he pops up again and this time asks for a wheezing and a skunk tank to what she's doing yes and puts them in jars then he's like thanks dude we gotta get rid of this guy the dialogue is absolutely amazing this game has that's what that's what i've seen so far the dialogue seems super like funny like kind of pointed like you probably wouldn't think it was as funny if you weren't i don't know like either really young or old enough to acknowledge like how cheesy and funny it is probably the best writing touch pokemon game i know of team dim sun is obviously the star of the show and whenever they come on screen you know they're gonna have something funny to say at one point while i was trying to get into their secret base in the volcano i captured the pokemon they were controlling and they're like time to make our escape and set off dynamite which exploded a giant boulder and blocked the entrance to the base which they're like shoot we were supposed to detonate it after we go in so they had to wait for me to go get a pokemon that can destroy the rock and they're like thanks ranger we'll be grateful for this for about a second and they run through the door so you follow them and they come back like hey we forgot about you helping us take this and drop a bunch of number on me also that plays when they're around is awesome i was jamming out whenever i was running around their base it's a bummer this game isn't super popular i know it's got a small cult following but it definitely deserves to be more well known and i i really consider it one of the top pokemon games out there just on writing alone it's not a hard game but i mean pokemon isn't meant to be difficult pokemon's not like a sweaty series in general unless you're playing like competitive then it's it's pretty sweaty but the games themselves aren't hard so it's probably good that this isn't like a detour from that game series anymore i can see some people getting a bit tired of the capture system this is what got me the like circling right like i don't know maybe i should go back and give it a shot i might this this video is kind of selling me on it like this video sells the game for me but i've never played i i've only played a little bit of a pokemon game ever also i my sub notifications going off in my ears thanks for whoever subscribed since it doesn't change much throughout the game but honestly again i think the story and dialogue far make up for the semi-repetitive capture and battle system now i know i kind of just talked about the entire plot but if you're curious about playing it yourself there's so much i left out and there's still a lot to discover about the game so i highly recommend it i'm being honest i think it sounds good uncover a third of what happens in the game and there are a lot of funny moments i really wanted to talk about that i just didn't have room for in the script i'm just trying to convince you to play the game yourself at this point because i think it's just that funny of a game but i'll stop it sounds funny it took me about 24 hours to complete it i captured 24 hours almost exactly four pokemon and ran away from 106. i think that's a pretty good ratio unless you're a total of 9077 loops with that amount of prices master at drawing circles now that's a lot of loops all right so once again a really fantastic pokemon animation from jane definitely remember to go check her out it'll be the top link in the description down below to this specific video but also just go check out her channel and watch her non-pokemon content because she puts out a lot of really top-tier animations and i think they're actually fantastic a lot of people commented on my last reaction video saying that she's currently doing another nuzlocke and she's probably going to post that animation in december which i am super stoked for so super excited for that uh dope animation jaden i you did it again you should do a lot more pokemon things because i think you are what this community needs all right so this video is great it kind of convinced me that pokemon ranger is maybe a series i should give a second look because again i've only ever played minutes of the first
