An appropriately unhinged recap of Glee (part 2)

hello everybody welcome to mike's mic my name is lyrically sonically and instrumentally mike and welcome to part two of my appropriately unhinged recap of glee now famously part one was a few months ago and my door has truly been beaten down by the public's calls for part two and the scandalous truth is yeah i've been working on it but i've been working on a few other things at the same time you know maybe this little gossip girl series in the works xoxo can't say the b word yet cause it's not a minute into the video okay so glee part two part one resulted in the creation of the whiteboard eleganza extravaganza which is on the other side of this board we had the main characters and their biggest hits and flops represented by their discography of cds now i know this is controversial but i'm gonna need you all to calm down and hold the railing while i steer the ss mike's mic through the treacherous waters that are glee seasons four to six simply put babe the format for part one does not work for glee season four to six let me explain why number one there are too many characters like hello in season four the main squad have graduated so we have them running around rat city with new characters and love interests and this is all happening while tina blaine rd sam and britney are in their senior year willie mckinley high school whms whms and we've got a whole new set of new directions victims yeah that's right i'm cheerios coded one thing about me i'm going to say a little prayer for you and then in season five we have the same thing with all these new characters and then it's got the backdrop of the most diabolical five episode run to ever exist on the small screen or even the big screen maybe you rented out a cinema to watch glaciers and five i don't know what you people do with your money also i'm convinced that the viewership for seasons one to three was like 3.5 billion and then for seasons four to six it was two people literally two people almost every person i've spoken to stopped watching when the main squad graduated which is end of season three and that's part of the reason why i've changed things for part two because that concept in part one relies a bit on nostalgia for example everyone remembers that i say a little prayer performance by the unholy trinity right so then me putting up a little card that says i say a little prayer on the board was not a cognitive stretch however me saying that sue gives a student a custom molded tom brady fleshlight might not have the same impact that sounds like a lie but it's not i could make up a plot line and the typical view would be like okay cool because i don't know what happened because they stopped at the end of season three because they weren't one of the two people that watched season four to six so with that in mind we are respectfully exiting the concept car park that is part one with a stylish three-point turn in a car that we won in a graphic design competition for part two to celebrate the ridiculous and overwhelming nature of these 55 episodes we will be explaining the plot via printed out of context screenshots three things about me i love to screenshot i love to print things on other people's printers and i love to wear a cheerios uniform and say a little prayer for you which is very convenient for you because you need all these systems that you can get i do not want to start drama but this thing is so [ __ ] tight i googled cheerios uniform melbourne and this came the next day and this was large baby like so to summarize i'm changing the concept because there are too many characters too many plot points and the concept from part one won't work for part two and i feel like this will be more fun and more entertaining let's review where all of the main characters ended up at the end of season three remember they've just won nationals which was famously judged by lindsay lohan mercedes santana rachel finn kurt mike quinn and park have all just graduated finn applied for the actors studio and didn't get in rachel and kurt both applied for nyada and only rachel got in rachel says that she's going to defer her nyada acceptance so that she can spend more time with finn in ohio because they were engaged fincher were going to try and get married again after their first attempt was postponed because quinn was in a qua clash and she was in a wheelchair for five episodes however on the way to fincher wedding 2.0 we discovered that finn is actually taking rachel to the train station and he's like just go to yada don't let me hold you back right get on the train and go we found out that mercedes got a contract as a backup singer partially thanks to sam recording her singing while in the choir room mike is heading off to a ballet academy in chicago queen is going to yale sue got santana a cheerleading scholarship after britney suggested it speaking of britney she was supposed to graduate but then she got a 0.0 gpa so she has to stay back another year so that means the senior cohort is britney addy blaine tina and sam which is tragically five people and five is in fact less than 12 and if we take nothing else away from this show is that you need 12 people to participate in the show choir competition i mean technically joe hart sugar modder and rory should be part of the senior cohort in season four hmm but more on that later will schuster won teacher of the year but and he also coached the new directions to a nationals victory so he did kind of just replace himself on the top of the billboard hot 100 which is great for the shoe senators who unfortunately cannot count me in their ranks this man is my enemy sue was briefly fighting for her life because figgins set her an ultimatum that if she wanted to stay on as cheerios coach she'd need to win a nationals championship to get the associated prize money otherwise should get replaced by coach ross washington as cheerios coach that's my best friend ross washington i can't believe i didn't print her picture in part one i'm sorry i'm sorry after flopping with the cheerios sue decided that she was going to help the new directions win their national prize and the associated prize money and she's like yes loophole so then figures was like okay fine and she got to stay on as cheerios coach sue is also pregnant and i'm pretty sure will and emma are engaged at this point so then the other relationships that we have we have rachel and finn we have kurt and blaine tina and mike santana and brittany sam and mercedes are on and off seeing each other and i don't think quinn is dating anyone at the end of season three artie and rory were competing for sugar somewhere around the middle of season three as she picked rory i don't know what puck's doing and also i don't care i would say other characters worth remembering going into part two would be principal figgins queen becky jackson unique adams bert hummel coach beast and carmen thibodeaux also i mentioned in part one that i was going to be covering the glee project in part two while i lied i need to keep you all on your toes with the occasional lie i won't be covering the glee project or the glee movie in this part because i will be focusing specifically on the plot because it honestly needs the full video length there are some great videos that you can watch to learn more about the glee project and the glee movie so i recommend going to watch these so without further ado why don't we get started discoursing season four rachel berry is now at nyada in new york city that's the new york academy of dramatic arts and it does not exist no matter how many times that i convince my brain that it doesn't exist my brain's like cool so let's go to nyada then like no you can't go to nyada it's not real and miss berry truly went from being a big fish in a small pond to being a piece of plankton in the atlantic it's actually so bad for her one of herniated teachers is an absolute psychopath called cassandra july now miss july is the absolute worst and calls rachel little miss david schwimmer and constantly targets and bullies her however she is played by kate hudson so we legally and contractually have to support she also performs an iconic mashup of americana by lady gaga and dance again and it was a little bit legendary we find out in the next episode that cassie's backstory is that she was performing on broadway and someone's phone went off in the audience and she went absolutely awol and screamed at him and someone recorded it and uploaded the clip to the internet and basically her career was over before it started so you know what she's just a bit full of rage and yeah that is so me vibes but under all the bullying and nitpicking she's just trying to prepare her students for all the worst possible judgment and scrutiny that they'll receive once they start their professional careers now rachel has made a new friend at nyada the guy who came third in australian idol in 2006. yes that's right dean gaia plays brodie weston a nyada senior who rachel hears singing in the dorm bathroom she's like don't now over at mckinley that's william mckinley high school to you that's wmhs and don't you forget it first of all between season three and four sue has had her baby named robin she's also appointed a new head cheerleader named kitty kitty's my new head [ __ ] she's like a younger quinn fabre except she's not pregnant manic depressive or in and out of a wheelchair i do not like kitty she is so nasty evil girl and i know what they were trying to do combined the queen [ __ ] aesthetics of quinn fabre with the sassy takedowns of santana lopez they actually lowered kitty's evil score in season five when they introduced a new [ __ ] cheerleader named bree but we'll talk about that when we get there tina kohen chang has done a personality 180 and she's come back gunning to be the new rachel and she's got this i'm better than everyone attitude and she's also got a personal assistant named dodi kazutore she's also broken up with mike chang and she had to change her mike chang forever tattoo to make change forever now speaking of the new rachel that's a role that tina blaine unique and britney are all trying to fill that's right unique has transferred from carmel high to willie mckinley high school and is now part of the new directions so the four of them are like there's only one way to decide who the new rachel is sing a song that rachel would sing if she were here and that song is apparently call me maybe sorry but absolutely not i love kylie ray jepsen but suggesting that rachel berry would sing a current song given the choice to sing any song is just wrong we know that rachel berry is theater barbra streisand broadway new york gold star girl so she would definitely sing a broadway staple anyway blaine is declared the new rachel which i think is fitting will holds auditions for the now national champion glee club the new directions and we have two new characters jake is like this hot tempered bully player type who can also sing and dance wow we've never seen that before that's crazy that is crazy and never before seen plot twist jake is actually jake puckerman and is noah pokemon's half brother nobody moved nobody rejoiced the hills are silent with the sound of nothing when will gets up in jake's face saying that he can't have a bad attitude if he wants to join new directions jake says so i'm angry i got a right to be you don't know me you don't know my life hmm that sounds familiar i don't have a bad attitude maybe i'm angry inside i've been through stuff so i'm angry next up marley rose ah girl let me look to the left look to the right and judge silently from a distance marley rose is glee's suggested replacement for the rachel barry sized hole at willy mckinley high school after miss berry went to nyada in new york city however marley's whole thing is that she's nice she's just nice she is literally as protagonist vibes as you could possibly get shy mousy poor girl with an overweight canteen lady mum and a heart of gold that's literally how they introduced her now remember that kurt did not get into nyada he did not get into nyada he's been flopping around lima ohio and at the end of the episode bert and blaine convinced him to go slay mode and try his luck in new york city even though he doesn't really have any plans i will say rachel and kirk together in new york is iconic and it's one of my favorite riding decisions for season four the high school plot lines get so bad that i'm basically on my knees begging for a 15 second curt and rachel scene where they're singing let's have a kiki episode two of season four is called britney 2.0 which is obviously trying to replicate the success of the chart topping oscar-winning intergalactic cosmic sleigh that is season two episode two britney four slash britney we start with britney doing a voiceover out loud saying i'm head cheerio vice rachel of the glee club and now i'm planning a middle east style sham election that will install me as senior class president for life but she's about to become a resident of struggle town because sue kicks britney off the cheerios for lowering the collective gpa of the entire squad so miss britney spears has now lost the cheerios captaincy to kitty wilde her girlfriend santana is in a completely different state and she's also not the new rachel speaking of santana the girls have been trying to keep their relationship alive but they're struggling with the whole long distance thing it's literally episode two girls get it together brittany goes to see guidance counselor emma pillsbury who assesses the situation and decides that what britney needs is for the glee club to do another britney week an understandable assessment you need a britney week i need a britney week we all need a britney week we have a bunch of new britney songs so we have unique marley and tina singing womanizer then we have tina sam and joe singing three hmm joe jojo have you learned nothing jojo you're fifth in the competition you're fifth on the pyramid sometimes you act like a five-year-old maybe five is your lucky number or not so lucky number when tina sam and joe sing three there's like that bit that's like everybody loves counting and they really enunciate it and just reminds me of that taylor swift lyric that's like hey kids spelling is fun the episode itself is pretty good but obviously nowhere near as good as the original britney episode this one culminates in the new direction singing gimme more at a school assembly and it's a bit of a disaster and they're clearly referencing the 2007 vmas performance and while that is pop culture history i'm surprised that they put it in the show because i don't think britney would appreciate that and britney was on the show as a guest i was kind of like why did you do this there's also this fantastic plotline of britney becoming friends with this voice assistant called kiki from a phone that she found in a laundromat kiki is apparently serious super smart older cousin who's really jealous of how famous siri's gotten and kiki tells britney that she's drinking a cetanta which is 70 ounces of espresso we also have jake and marley singing to each other or some [ __ ] clap if you care do you see how far apart my hands are from clapping right now in new york we find out that rachel and kurt have secured an apartment now i have several issues with this loft situation how are they only paying 1800 a month for a loft first of all and this place is absolutely huge so somebody lied also they have absolutely no rental history so i don't understand how they got approved i'm not bitter i'm just confused there's also something truly perplexing about the decor in this apartment but we'll talk about that when we get to episode 10. in episode three kurt decides to apply for an internship at vogue.com and immediately gets it with no experience which is possibly the most unrealistic thing about this show that just featured siri's cousin called kiki what's iconic about this situation is that his boss is sarah jessica parker say what you want about glee but they're always gonna have great cameos i mean at this point we've got kate hudson whoopi goldberg and sarah jessica parker like come on blane decides that he needs to step it up in his senior year so he teams up with sam to take on brittany and artie and run for class president with kurt running around new york doing fun stuff and using the vogue archive to give rachel a style makeover blaine's starting to feel a bit ignored uh-oh anyway he wins the presidential race post makeover rachel berry has retired and instead we now have slachelberry i think rachel berry in season four onwards is so much less insufferable than in the first three seasons and with this new image she's kind of a new person she's also been spending a lot of time with brodie and invites him over for like a candlelit romantic dinner and he might be thinking whoa whoa whoa whoa what's going on here i thought finchel was the soup of the day wrong finn dropped off the face of the earth and isn't returning rachel's calls kurt says it's because finn is setting rachel free and letting her follow her dreams but like damn not even a text back so rachel's kind of started moving on with this new guy and then suddenly boom guess who pops up seconds after rachel and brodie start kissing yes finn has turned up out of nowhere and wants a slice of slater pie will realizes that since he's now completed his three season goal of winning nationals he now needs a new goal to work towards and he's like um slay how about i join a government panel thing and push for arts education in schools episode four is called the breakup and i just know that when this aired on october 4 2012 tumblr was in shambles there were probably small fires breaking out all across the fandom and the emergency response team was stretched too thin to deal with the drama of three key ships being lost at sea let's start with finchel so finn finally reveals what he's been up to while ghosting rachel for the last three months he joined the army not the bts variety but only for 16 days because he shot himself in the thigh and got a semi-honorable discharge he didn't want to tell rachel because he was embarrassed so instead he just backpacked through georgia now he's in new york and rachel's trying to involve him in her life but he feels like he doesn't fit in at all and he leaves and goes to lymer again and this time finchel is officially broken up next up clain so blaine is feeling super lonely i know [ __ ] up because kurt is in new york slaying vogue.com and we see blaine messaging someone called eli c on facebook turns out he ended up hooking up with his random man i was kind of pissing myself laughing at the fact that blaine used facebook to find a hookup from a man with a lighthouse as a profile picture anyway blaine tells kurt and kurt super upset understandably and he breaks things off next up san titany is that even the ship name this one basically fell apart because of the distance situation they decide to have an unofficial breakup and santana sings mine by taylor swift to brittany exactly exactly exactly also in this episode we have some bumps in the road for will and emma because he's joining that government panel in dc and he just kind of assumes that she would drop everything to go with him she's like no no there's also some [ __ ] going down with the new kids but i'll try and summarize it as succinctly as possible because no one gives a [ __ ] unfortunately we have marley keen on jake and jake keen on marley but also keen on kitty who is just the absolute worst tamale now one thing about miss marley rose she's going to be in a love triangle jake and kitty were kind of dating but then jake called things off because kitty was bullying marley for being poor and having an overweight canteen lady mum also in episode 4 we have rachel and brodie singing give your heart a break by demi lovato and previously in episode 3 we had demi referenced by name so therefore we know that demi exists in the glee universe the glooniverse the glilky way and then guess who turns up in glee season five demi lovato but as a character named danny so that's fun in episode five mercedes returns thank god it was getting real dark there mercedes and mike have come back to the glee club in advisory roles to help the new directions with choreographing and vocal coaching their production of grease we don't really get much info on what mercedes is up to which is equal parts rude and offensive finn has been working at burt's auto shop but he's feeling a little bit lost in life and arty comes along and suggests that he help him co-direct greece while casting danny zuko adi wants blaine to take the role but blaine's a little bit in the trenches post-claim split so finn gets to recruiting and recruits possibly the worst character of the entire show ryder lin he's a loner football player known for his quirky dances in the end zone or some [ __ ] whatever sorry there's a bit of drama because miss marley rose miss shy mousey poor girl with the overweight canteen lady mum she got the role of sandy so now marley and ryder are spending a little bit too much time together jake sees these two spending all that time together and he's like i don't like it and kitty's like hmm how can i make the situation even more infuriating for the viewers that could not give less of a [ __ ] about this storyline and they just want to see curt and rachel have a kiki in new york and she's like okay great jake and i we can do a duet audition for greece and then we have a classic unnecessarily problematic glee moment where sue goes on a anti-unique auditioning for rizzo rant finn cracks it at sue and calls sue's baby robin who has down syndrome the arsler this show like bro there's also a scene of sue trying to insult marley but remember marley's whole thing is that she is shy mousey your name protagonist so sue's library card seems to be malfunctioning because she can't read marley now episode six is gliese the roles have been assigned the stage is set with will taking a sabbatical to enter his politics era he's appointed finn the coach the new directions which is a role that requires no teacher training which is great because finn has absolutely none when will's about to leave he's giving finn some advice and finn interrupts him and he's like mr shuster i got this if you needed clear evidence that the writers went a bit too far with kitty's antics during rehearsals she's been secretly making marley's sandy costume tighter so that she feels like she's gaining weight and then she encourages marley to make herself throw up so that she can lose the weight like this character literally gives marley an ed and then in season five and six were supposed to be like oh kitty that's queenie that is feral behavior we also have santana returning to play rizzo because unique's parents found out that she got cast in the role of rizzo and decided to take her out of production so that she wouldn't get bullied for it episode 7 of season 4 is truly evil basically the warbler is led by new big bad hunter clarington steal the new directions nationals trophy and the episode is about william mckinley high school's society of superheroes trying to get it back why is this happening we now have a mali rider jake love triangle and i honestly don't think i've cared about a triangle less post gliese ryder and kitty have joined the new directions so now they conveniently have enough members to participate in sectionals which is apparently next week like okay sure as if timelines meant anything in this show anyway now something about glee post season 3 is that it has become the struggle olympics it's like they had the encyclopedia of trauma and struggles and then every episode they were like um let me just flick through this book pick a random page like yep let's include that so for example in episode seven we have this big lead up to ryder revealing a secret which is that he's dyslexic and then it's just never really mentioned again in the rest of the show and it's not because they don't care it's because some other struggle has come up in the next five minutes that overshadows the previous struggle the spm the struggles per minute is so fast that you can't talk about a struggle that happened three struggles ago because there's three new struggles oh my god also in this wack superhero episode finn name drops the avengers and i was like what how does this make sense so i googled and glee season 4 came out after the first avengers movie no that means the first avengers movie came out over 10 years ago i am old like i'm ancient i'm a relic i'm slays a future past why is kitty dancing with a whip in a latex suit at school go to maths class oh my god episode 8 is thanksgiving and we have mercedes mike santana puck and quinn back for the holidays so naturally they end up in the choir room of their old high school queen santana and brittany reunite the unholy trinity and perform come see about me and it really just reminds me how good we had it in season one like we were truly living loving laughing weren't we just jake and marley are dating now over in new york brody slept with cassandra drama because he thought that rachel was back with finn but now that fincher is no more rachel and brody are going to give it another go kurt finds out that sarah jessica parker doesn't have any thanksgiving plans so he invites her to their apartment and says to bring some besties now this gives us one of the best moments of the entire season then let's have a kiki turkey lucky time mashup let's have a kiki i want to have a key key lock the doors tight there's just something extremely glee about rachel launching into it's turkey lurky time while shangela dances around the unrealistic 1800 loft with sarah jessica parker we will excuse the weirdness of the vogue boss going to her unpaid interns apartment we lost realism like 30 episodes ago babe then at sectionals and the wobblers sing can you blow me we're so baby and the new directions get up to do their songs and marley faints on stage during gangnam style because she's starving herself it's a pr disaster you might be wondering why were the new directors doing gangnam style at sectionals i don't have that answer for you now because of the flow ratification of the warblers and the fanification of mali the new directions lose to the warblers and that's a big deal like they just won the national championship and now they can't even win sectionals like kind of embarrassing santana blows up at kitty for pushing marley to starve herself and then it's just never really addressed again and this is what i was talking about before you have those big issues coming up and then they're dropped while something else comes up now the seniors tina blaine etc etc they're pissed because that's that on that and they're like damn we're not gonna have another chance to be champions in our own senior year that's embarrassing britney and sam start to have feelings for each other but britney's worried that the worldwide lesbian blogger community that ships her with santana will go after sam if they start dating also sam has a chapstick rack in his locker ever since i had the conspiracy theory that chapstick actually dries out your lips that you have to keep using it things will unfortunately never be the same again mel seafeet lisa left by lopez piano guy brad reveals to sue that he absolutely hates the glee kids and how they just turn to him and yell hit it expecting him to play any and every song at a second's notice in new york rachel gets invited by icon carmen thibodeau to perform at the winter showcase the nihada winter showcase and she gets a standing ovation and that's a big slay curt applies for nyada again but carmen is extremely unbothered she's like but at the last second she invites him to try again at the end of the winter showcase so he gets up and he sings being alive from company and all the crowd goes crazy everyone loved you got a standing ovation and carmen was like congratulations you're back in the running to become america's next top model translation he just got back into nyada episode 10 is season four's christmas episode now you all know how i feel about glee christmas episodes they're a little bit criminal they're a little bit felonious they're a little bit villainous this one is no different and i'll continue my self-imposed tradition of ignoring the christmas episode plotlines however here are some notable mentions from this episode arty slips on the ice in his wheelchair and hits his head so we've hit the quota for at least one concussion per season i think the most recent concussion before that was when tina fell in the fountain at the end of season three but it has a prostate cancer plotline that's introduced here and runs for a few episodes but ends up being okay sue gives marley and her mum some presents and we get an exchange where marley's mum says thank you for what you did for marley and me and sue says i have no idea what you're talking about i had nothing to do with the making of that film funny in the spirit of christmas kurt and blaine have started talking again remember he cheated on curt with eli c from facebook they're talking again but it's just friends now in this episode i happened upon a discovery of such groundbreaking explosiveness that hasn't been seen since the development of penicillin by miss penicillin in 1928 in curtin rachel's apartment they had this window cover thing and at first glance i was like yes cute it's all the different areas of new york and then i looked again and i was like now hold on they don't seem like new york names south anston treaton doncaster rather maltby turns out these are random towns around yorkshire in england why neither of these characters have expressed an interest in england it's just so random i mean if you're from one of these places congratulations you're famous episode 11 is about the school having a sadie hawkins dance which is where the girl asks the guy to the dance so it's basically like medieval bumble tina has developed an obsession with blaine freshly at nyada kurt is making friends and he meets this guy called adam wait did i i did i printed and put him on the wall he's so inconsequential i don't know why he made it onto the wall next to sarah jessica parker no less he meets his british man adam who started a show choir and called it the adam's apples so his choir is named after himself ill now imagine my surprise when i discovered british man adam is also british man colin from pretty little liars that was spencer's love interest for like three seconds in season five this man truly cornered the market for random british man in 2010's teen drama kurt goes to watch the adam's apples perform baby got back and it is so extremely bizarre that i actually can't talk about it my doctor said i can't talk about it so i actually have a slip i can't show you the slip it's got important information in my doctor's name on there but i can't because my doctor said i can't so if you want to go look at that that's on you i'm not involved kurt gets really into it and he's like giggling and [ __ ] and i can assure you it is not giggle worthy it's scream like running and fear-worthy blaine and sam discovered that the wobblers were actually cheating and using performance-enhancing drugs and in episode 12 warblers are disqualified which means the new directions are back in the running to be america's next top show choir and will be performing at sectionals also in episode 12 arty refers to indianapolis as the paris of indiana we find out that unique is team jacob which makes absolutely no sense and britney's talk show fondue for two comes back and she has miley on as a guest and she introduces mali as you may know tonight's guest only as the girl with the fat mum who ruled sectionals in other news on fondue for two we found out that families are living in squalor in lord tubbington's high rises that aren't up to code now in a huge plot twist we discover that britney and sam have respectively earned the highest and lowest sat scores ever recorded at mckinley yes britney got a score of 23.40 and is actually a super genius sam starts spiraling thinking about how all that he's got going for himself now as his looks rachel nearly takes a role in a student's artsy play which would mean that she'd be taking her shirt off but at the last second santana and quinn arrived to host an intervention to stop her from doing it santana and queen's plotlines are kind of crickets and they just kind of show up to further other characters plot lines which sucks although santana does mention that new york is more her speed compared to kentucky where she's got her cheerleading scholarship so does that mean that she's perhaps moving to new york maybe yes in episode 13. tina is crushing on blaine and blaine is crushing on sam and literally none of these are going to work out so it's just going to be bad for everyone episode 13 is absolutely chaotic like that's not something that we've ever seen on this show before rachel's being a bit of a diva after winning the nyada winter showcase and she's being a bit of an ass to kurt so he's plotting to bring her down a peg by battling her in a 1v1 singing battle kerr reveals that he deliberately messed up that note in defying gravity years ago in season one and this kind of rocks rachel because in her head that's around the time she started slaying and getting the defying gravity solo via sing-off was one of her sleigh juice dispensers kurt wins their little sing-off and rachel calms down emma and will's wedding is apparently next week and she's absolutely not dealing with the workload because will flopstar has [ __ ] off to dc and just assumed that emma's going to do 100 of the wedding planning work so miss pillsbury unloads all of her dramas onto finn who decides the best way to calm her down is to kiss her no blaine has the flu and tina is doing the absolute most to help him because she's crushing on him and apparently this involves essentially rubbing santana briefly comes back to ohio after learning about britney and sam and sue says to her don't any of you have jobs you have to have some source of income so that you can pay the staff of scientists who service your teleporters that you'll clearly own since you're constantly showing up here episode 14 is a bloody valentine's day episode and it's also will and emma's wedding so many directioners are back in town for the wedding some would say too many jake wants to do cute [ __ ] for his girlfriend marley but he's a flop to his core so all of the little like things that he does for mali are actually writer telling him to do it so ryder's obsessed with miley remember it's a love triangle there's a love triangle here ryder's giving jake ideas and he's doing them and miley's like oh my god jake thank you so much but it's actually ryder does that make any [ __ ] sense no who cares this girly right here she lives and breathes love triangles on this show it's also kind of a love square because kitty's there as well like a love rhombus there's a scene where jake interrupts history class to sing to marley and i'm just like let those children at the wedding emma is basically getting pneumonia from how cold her feet are and this coupled with the random finn kiss she's like i'm done i'm out of here and she runs away from the chapel now who ends up walking down the aisle and delivering the runaway bride exclusive news story to the groom while luck ramosa plays in the background sue sylvester in the exact same wedding gown that emma had this is apparently her revenge for will letting finn coach the glee club will's like bro but then he's like hold one just go ahead the reception i'm gonna go cry in the corner real quick but you can all go ahead the reception so many of you traveled down and this is where we get several hookups kurt and blaine in the backseat of a car santana and drum roll please quinn rachel and finn arty and emma's random niece who's also in a wheelchair and jake and marley but they don't end up selling the deal so the package doesn't get posted the post office was like no that's not regulation also before you get excited the quintana hook up was just that a one-off hookup at school marley tells ryder that she knows that he's the one that planned all of jake's gifts and he kisses her in episode 15 santana is moving in with rachel and kurt in new york now i as you can probably tell i love the new york story lines the writers are clearly doing the absolute most to get all the fan favorite characters in one location and you know what i'm not mad about it santana finds a stash of cash and a pager in brody's things so she thinks that he's a d-r-u-g dealer and he's acting super shady so it kind of checks out rachel thinks that she might be pregnant and she does a pregnancy test and the only person that suspects that something is up is santana we find out in episode 16 that rachel is in fact not pregnant kurt and colin from pretty little liars season five are still kind of seeing each other but it's very obvious that kurt is not over blaine which we can see in a dream sequence of clean singing come what may from moulin rouge every time i think of mulan route i think of lady marmalade and why was that not covered on glee will is now officially back from his government era in dc and his theme of the week is favorite movies and i'm just like why are all of these teenagers favorite movies old it's supposedly 2013 and you're like 16. so why is your favorite movie gentlemen prefer blondes like during fondue for two marley told brittany that one of her favorite movies is the hunger games and it's like okay cool so why are you not singing are you are you coming to the tree why are you coming to the tree marley marley tells jake that ryder kissed her and jake storms off oh my god is hashtag jarly over or no emma has dropped off the face of the earth post wedding and after helping will find her finn tells will that he kissed emma and will is [ __ ] fuming this takes us to episode 16 feud which is about will vs finn i actually could not be less bothered also completely unrelated but football has completely fallen off in terms of plot points like in season one two and three the football team the mckinley high titans were a huge part of the story and now like jake ryder and sam i think are still part of the football team but it's crickets like literal physical crickets wearing team colours speaking of [ __ ] ryder he's decided to a fall in love with someone online called katie underscore xoxo and b make transphobic comments towards unique when i said he was crusty and boring and irrelevant i was being serious turns out brody is not a d-r-u-g dealer and is actually an escort santana confronts him about it by pretending to be one of his clients and she byo's finn who physically fights brody and says stay away from my future wife weird okay sue tries to trick blaine into rejoining the cheerios by signing a contract that he can only get out of by beating her in a mariah carey vs nicki minaj song contest and glee club so we get this um sue performing sue per base in a full nicki minaj outfit also it turns out that becky is nikki's number one fan so we love that sue wins the sing-off because she's slayed charlie xcx boots the house down cartier trixie live show kelly mantle so what so blaine is forced to rejoin the cheerios as co-captain with becky but white he's actually been plotting to destroy sue from the inside so this is going perfectly in episode 17 titled guilty pleasures we discover that kurt has been sleeping with a torso plus arm-shaped pillow called a boyfriend arm that he has named bruce this episode's actually kind of cute or whatever and the best part is the glee girl singing spice girls because kitty revealed to britney on fondue for two that the spy skills are her guilty pleasure i'm actually very serious about the spy skills if you don't like the spy skills there's something very suspicious and weird going on with you like that's shady behavior you're living in the shadows into the shadows you will return also in episode 17 kitty's redemption arc is unfortunately in full swing and jake sings my prerogative which is apparently by someone called bobby brown and is not an original song by britney spears excuse me like that is life-changing earth-shattering pangaea splitting information to me blaine's crush on sam peaks with sam telling blaine that he knows that he's blaine's guilty pleasure which is a [ __ ] weird way of putting it but it's all out in the open they get over and their besties again in new york hashtag broachal is officially over because they both realized that neither of them were very honest with the other so brodie didn't tell rachel about his little side hustle and rachel didn't tell brodie about the hashtag fincher wedding hookup also rachel's guilty pleasure movie is mamma mia so we get them all singing mamma mia and this kind of threw me for a loop because why was there not an entire episode dedicated to abba in the whole series no dedicated abba episode but two beatles episodes hmm oh my god and then in a prime example of glee just doing absolutely anything and everything we go from a fun little light episode of kurt having a pillow shaped like a man's arm and the next episode is a s-c-h-o-o-l-s-h-o-t and this is in the same episode that has a big jokey plot line about britney thinking the world is ending because the mayan calendar said so anyway it turns out the shots they heard were actually becky's gun accidentally going off in sue's office you might be wondering why does becky jackson have a gun it's because she's scared of graduating and facing all the dangers outside in the real world so she thought that she'd be prepared by having her with her now mr ryder lynn here he's actually very busy because you might not know this about him but he's actually the mayor of two places he's the mayor of crusty county and he's also the mayor of struggle town he's discovered that his perfect girl katie underscore xoxo is not a real person and he's discovered this by running into the girl whose photos the account is using so he's being catfished absolutely obsessed with how they get this girl to give a very helpful explanation of what cat fishing is for the parents watching in 2013. during the s-h-o-o-t-ing the new directions are trapped in the choir room and ryder calls katie underscore xoxo and a phone rings in the choir room so that means the catfish is one of the members of the glee club we also had kitty confessing to marley that she had been tightening miley's costume during greece remember we're in the redemption arc now after everything calms down sue takes the blame for the gun going off so that becky wouldn't face the possible consequences and get expelled from the school so as a result sue gets fired that whole episode is just jarring and bizarre and especially because the next episode we're right back with the [ __ ] and something similar happens at the start of season five so get ready for that now sue's departure means that we get legend coach ross washington played by nene leakes back who says i've taken over the churros from the phantom menace to sylvester blaine starts to suspect that becky knows something about sue and the gun and she says mind your own gay business gay blaine which is iconic in new york we have rachel landing an audition for funny girl which is the two e's musical for her remember when rachel's saying don't rain on my parade yeah yeah oh okay oh okay yeah it's a classic it's a classic for the audition rachel initially plans on singing a barbra streisand number but then elsa aka idina menzel aka shelby aka rachel's birth mother pops up for a little cameo and she says [ __ ] hell don't do that flop seeing something else be original so then rachel sings a very heartfelt rendition of don't stop believing one thing about rachel is she is not gonna stop believing finn has enrolled at the university of lima to study teaching and guess who his roommate is park are you serious i do in fact find pucks included in the show post season three very unnecessary and this is a prime example this is an amazon prime example anyway will and finn are back to being besties again remember we had episode 16 feud but they're back to being friends again and this is actually the last episode that finn is in episode 20 is called lights out and when will announces to the glee club that the theme of the week is unplugged week i wrote in my notes unplugged week what does that mean [ __ ] i also wrote that obvi going to lose regionals lol it's f20 and regionals hasn't happened yet also where the [ __ ] are sugar and joe like excuse me bring back my girls rupaul wait i'm funny sugar's only had a couple of cameos and like one actual voice line throughout season four and that has honestly affected me personally on a personal level now the girls of veronica's variant unplugged because there's a week-long power outage at the school this kind of had me screaming a little bit because it's supposedly daytime and it's extremely dark in the school category is dungeon realness in new york kurt and rachel are worried that santana is wasting her talents but she says that she's just you know taking some time to work out what she actually wants to do with her life and i mean like hello it's barely been a year since graduating high school let's all collectively calm down and listen to kids bop with the windows up santana sings a ballet song at a vogue.com gala thing she's like wait a minute hold on maybe i do like performing now freshly fired sue sylvester is working as a personal trainer she's absolutely mclovna when becky tries to get her back at mckinley because roz is telling the cheers to remove their ribs sue says 95 years i gave those girls and what did it get me sue slay vesta does not age and you would do well to remember that in episode 21 rachel has her second callback for the role of fanny bryce in funny girl yes fanny there's this whole drama about rachel needing cassandra july's sign off to change the date of the dance rehearsal because otherwise she can't make it to her audition she's like oh my god cassie's out to ruin my life but it turns out cassie's doing it for the girls she's actually super supportive she's like yes rachel you can do it one thing about cassie july she's gonna keep you guessing brittany gets an offer for early acceptance at mit remember she's a super genius will proposes to emma again and she accepts again arty gets into a film school in new york but he doesn't want to go because he doesn't leave his mum behind but kitty's being super supportive of him facing the reality that he does in fact want to go and they talk to his mom and his mom's like i'm [ __ ] go that's your dream so he's like okay cool i'll go this damn kitty redemption arc i could scream silently right now like i could do it am i gonna do it guys i'm gonna do it kurt comes back to ohio to be there for his dad when he's getting his results back regarding the cancer treatment and we find out that he is now cancer-free queen of the galaxy mercedes and mike are back again to help the new directions again this time with regionals but mercedes is having career drama pretty much what's happening is that she's putting out an album which is iconically called hell to the no but her producers like we need you to reshoot the album cover because you're not showing enough skin and yes she wants to get her music out but she doesn't want to compromise who she is to do so as a result she loses her record deal but she keeps her integrity and don't even stress don't even worry don't even fret because she'll be back in the studio in season five now episode 22 is the season finale and it's absolutely huge [ __ ] scenes like these scenes are so big britney has her mit interview and her test scores are atrocious but the numbers she drew on the back of the test are like some huge mathematic discovery that they're calling the britney code and they say britney it's possible that you may be the most brilliant scientific mind since albert einstein and that would scare a lot of people guys tell me in the comments if you were scared like i already know at least 60 of you were scared the majority armed with this information that she's basically the smartest person in the universe brittany's come back and she's being an absolute menace you know she's demanding solos at regionals she's breaking up with sam on a whim she's burning her cheerios uniform this gives us the best 100 seconds of the entire season 15 30 to 1710 where she has will and sue on fondue for two it's so dumb and it's so great writer discovers that katie underscore xoxo is actually dun dun dun dun dun dun unique and ryder tanasha throws a fit and almost refuses to go on stage with her at regionals obviously unique being in her catfish era is not a sleigh but she says that she's never gotten that close with anyone without her exterior getting in the way which is super sad britney reveals that her mit often requires her to leave immediately after regionals and speaking of regionals jojo siwa and sugar are back simply to fill the quota required for participation the new directions sing hall of fame by the script which is a questionable choice and then they sing icona pop i love it and don't get me wrong that is such a sleigh of a song that is a balenciaga bella he did gas station slay but it's a weird choice for a show choir competition the new directions win regionals and i controversially disagree with that judgment because their competition sang wings by little mix and that should have been an automatic win these wings were made to fly that's the thing i will never forgive never forgive the united states of america for letting that song not hit number one that song did so well in the uk did so well in europe and australia and then flopped in the us maybe tasteless maybe also it pisses me off that blaine didn't get any solo moments at regionals like he's the new rachel he's basically the best singer and performer in the glee club and [ __ ] marley had more solo time than he did at regionals in new york rachel has her final call back for the lead role in funny girl will she get it will she get it yes she will this show ended seven years ago this is not a spoiler speaking of new york what happened to colin from pretty little liars season five and his little show choir he fell off he fell off big time at the end of regionals will and emma get married in the choir room and they're like we just wanted to have a little ceremony surrounded by the people we love and it's just like all their high school students weird okay and then boom season four ends yeah i stepped out for lunch sue exactly at the end of season four they've just won regionals and now they're heading to nationals kitty and arty are an item and kitty's getting backlash for dating arty from the new cheerios super [ __ ] bree i mentioned in season four that there was a bigger bad coming and this is what i was talking about it's getting stale nothing new nothing to change same old [ __ ] mean cheerleader joins the glee club and becomes nice so then we get a newer meaner cheerleader to become the new supreme it was queen and then all santana and then it was kitty and now it's brie like really now after some now working at a diner called the spotlight diner where the workers terrorize guests with the threat of a song performance at any given moment sue sylvester is now the interim principal of mckinley becky confessed that she was the one that accidentally shot the gun so sue is back but sue also framed figgins with gambling receipts and evidence that he sold campus drilling rights to a fracking company all the fracking so now principal figgins is the janitor and sue is this interim principle on a probation of sorts that could result in her being permanent principle her first order of business is to set an ultimatum for will and coach ross washington that they need to win their respective national championships otherwise they'll be fired at the end of the season 5 premiere blaine proposes to kurt at the same spot they met for the first time at dalton academy and anyone who's anyone is there we've got the warblers we've got vocal adrenaline we've got the haverbrook school for the deaf and they're all singing kurt says yes so now they're engaged episode two is called tina in the sky with diamonds and it's all about tina wanting to be prom queen tina's in her better era and she's being a little bit of a demon diva demanding votes and [ __ ] and she's running on a don't be racist vote for tina platform but honestly i can't blame her for being insufferable because she's been fighting for her life in this show since sit down you're rocking the boat to make a long story short she wins prom queen and she's finally having her moment on the stage when a bucket of ice cold slushy tips on her head this carrie s humiliation was orchestrated by demon spawn brie and it's just kind of like did tina really need another struggle in the books like come on glee writers at this point she's basically on capital s struggles vol 2. mid redemption arc kitty gives tina her own prom dress stream prom dress by mxm toonstee and tina gets back out there and she gets the standing ovation she's always wanted sam has a few episodes fleeing with a college student nurse named penny but who cares sue finds out about bree's antiques and says i mean literally who is this she's in a cheerios uniform but i swear i've never seen her before and she tasks bre with harassing the new directions in the lead up to nationals because they're better when someone is trying to ruin their lives also sue cole's will busted timber flake which is that is so good and she also mentions how students of the glee club just come and go with no explanation for weeks at a time referring to joe and sugar and she's right santana has a new love interest and it's danny no last name played by legend demi lovato remember at the start of season four when it was confirmed that demi lovato exists in the glooniverse yeah yeah so santana meets dany because they both work at the spotlight diner basically anyone who's anyone works at the spotlight diner that's actually where i did work experience episode three of season five is about finn passing away and it's basically a dedication to cory monteith and you can see on the screen how emotional the cast is they don't say how finn dies and i think that's the best way that they could have done it it's a super heavy episode but i do think they did a good job however you've just had this like super emotional sad episode everyone's crying and then the end of the episode is it's like come on and then episode four is right back to the [ __ ] like the whiplash oh my god it's just the biggest 180 not even just in terms of mood or seriousness but just general episode quality episodes four to eight of season five are so bad and i'm not even just saying that that being said episode four is probably the least bad of the run and it's called a katie orrigaga and will gets the directions to identify as katie's or gagas and they have to sing songs from the opposite side everyone's scrambling a little bit because they've just discovered who their competition is for nationals and it includes a group called throat explosion who are just basically unbeatable so we have the katie's blaine sam marley ryder and artie and they're singing applause and it's a little bit excellent like let's not pretend that that's not one of the best songs ever released like let's not play games right now but there's drama because marley doesn't feel comfortable with her applause outfit which is super revealing so she wears a katy perry costume and will suspends her for a week question mark question mark question mark she gets suspended because she didn't want to wear aphrodite lady seashell bikini molly we're all trying to win a championship here as a team but you put your personal agenda above that i'm sorry but you're suspended for the rest of the week he is so evil also at this point becky is back from gun probation and is sue's secretary kurt starts a band called pamela lansbury inspired by pamela anderson and angela lansbury and he holds auditions which is how we meet a new character star child played by adam lambert who auditions with a beyond iconic rendition of marry the night i actually love this character adam lambert is such a good performer after some drama the members of pamela lansbury are kurt rachel santana starchild and danny now i know you might be thinking wow miss marley love triangle rose she's not in the love triangle right now well enter stage left brie under sue's guidance she's planning to destroy the new directions by seducing jake who's famously dating marley at the moment and thank god order has been restored we're back in another love triangle at jake's house he and marley are getting a little bit steamy but she stops it from going any further and she says if you don't understand then you should be with a different girl so he's like okay cool and he goes and bonks brie marley girl i'm telling you you need to branch out neither of these men are worth it the end of the katie vs gaga episode is everyone nearly naked singing raw with jungle set pieces that are way too elaborate where did this come from why is adi swinging from a vine in a wheelchair oh my god oh my god oh my god i have a panic attack episode five i feel ill episode five is called the end of twerk and will assigns the theme to be twerking no sue is anti-twerk so there's a [ __ ] battle about twerking between sue and will anyway in new york rachel's feeling rebellious and goes to get tattoos with kurt but she backs out and his tattoo that was supposed to say it gets better is messed up and actually says it's get better which he ends up changing to it's got bette midler rachel is now in funny girls rehearsals era and she's got a bob wig and you know what good for her marley finds out about jake and brie and sings wrecking ball in the middle of all this nonsense there's like an important plotline about unique getting bullied for using the women's bathroom and it results in sue bolting a gender-neutral porta potty in the middle of the choir room that tina frequently goes to and basically she [ __ ] on him episode six is a billy joel tribute episode called moving out and in the intro the voiceover says it's springtime in the longest year ever at mckinley and that is absolutely how it feels we have blaine traveling to new york for a nyada audition and we also have sam in new york for a scholarship interview which flops and he later goes to a modeling interview with the founder of the beshet agency who's played by tyra banks who says the camera likes starvation tyra slayed this cameo let's not cosplay as viewers who didn't think that tyra slayed this cameo because that is not us frustratingly we don't see blaine's nyada audition but he buys a piano for casa crentatul as a thank you for them letting him and sam stay there and santana's about to start swinging because she's sick of everyone randomly singing all the time and now there's a [ __ ] piano in the apartment she is so real for that also while sam's in new york there's an undercurrent of flirtiness between him and rachel hmm now back to ryder he's so [ __ ] annoying he's jumping all over mali like miss girl didn't just get cheated on which caused her to come in like a wrecking ball and told writer that she didn't want a bf straight away imagine posting this cringe [ __ ] on instagram artie helps becky work out which college she wants to go to and sue is super vigilant on the whole situation because she's very protective of becky and thinks maybe the safest option for her is to stay at mckinley as her secretary so with ardy's help becky finds a great college in cincinnati and sue admits that even though she's sad that becky's going she's super proud of her also this quote was so me day 1 year 8 2008 when someone threw a ninth of a beef pie at me at this point my overall thought is just drop the school component of this show already clearly almost all of the best characters are in new york just move the whole show there and integrate sue working at a college or something i hate to say it and i hope i don't sound ridiculous but i'm calling for the end of the willie mckinley high school like we should have ended here at the end of season 4. in episode seven we find out piano man brad has an addiction to online blackjack and owes thousands of dollars to some very sketchy people also there's a gas leak in the choir room which makes blaine hallucinate that everyone is a puppet yeah it's specifically puppet-themed hallucinations because blaine is being a bit controlling trying to dictate the national set list and he calls kurt and kurt says blaine is being a puppet master so blaine makes like 12 [ __ ] puppets and sue confiscates the kurt puppet and when she finds blaine trying to steal it back she gives him detention and says you're going to have to cancel wonder woman's invisible jet or whatever magic discount bullet train your kids use for your weekly jaunts to new york at the end of the episode and possibly the most diabolical thing to happen on a tv screen since cosima devito had to pull out of the australian idol season one semi-finals due to throat nodules the new directions sing what does the fox say as puppets it's a horror we're watching a horror show episode 8 is unfortunately and problematically another christmas themed episode and this one's called previously unaided christmas rachel kurt and santana sing a high-pitched helium induced chipmunk song with sexy criminal santa wilden from pretty little liars you know what it keeps me young i know some of you you're banging down my door wondering how at your big age do you not have any wrinkles it's because of things like this i see this [ __ ] happen on the screen and i'm like it sucks the wrinkles right off my face and i stay youthful it's the secret i wrote in my notes how are they christmas songs that they haven't sung yet the fact they managed to dig up more songs is a christmas miracle and honestly the only thing worth remembering from this episode is becky saying this by the time we get to episode nine in my opinion we are taylor swift out of the woods things are starting to get better santana is in new york feeling like she's flopping a little bit even though she's booked a yeast to stat commercial rachel's been trying to make santana feel better but when rachel is with the funny girl producer at the understudy auditions guess who appears singing don't reign on my parade at 100 spm santana rachel is shocked and pissed off spm is slaves per minute by the way it's a newly approved si unit centen did a great job with the song but i feel like singing rachel's trademark song at auditions to be her understudy is a little bit unnecessary so santana gets the role of understudy for fanny bryce and i'm 100 decibels screaming at this because now both the lead and her understudy are both freshly graduated high school students with absolutely no experience we love realism so now rachel and santana are at each other's throats and santana says rachel is short and awful and that's never going to change so rachel slaps her dun dun dun at the end of the episode rachel moves out of cars at crantatul and she moves in with adam lambert yes rachel is being a little rat but i understand why this is happening because remember her entire character is about her drive to be a star and i will say i liked how they integrated santana into the new york story lines like yes it is fan service but it doesn't feel like one of those plug-and-play situations like random x new direction is showing up at mckinley for a week tina and adi are academically tired to be valedictorian and things get a little bit dicey between them because tina needs this for her resume for brown because she's still on the waiting list but adi is refusing to just give it to her this then turns into tina and adi having a diva off for a solo at nationals where tina pushes arty a little bit too hard and he falls out of his wheelchair after making them both do speeches to prove that they're worthy to be valedictorian but they just use the opportunity to say nice things about each other sue's like okay cool neither of you are getting it we'll give it to the third person then which turns out to be blaine i really like episode 10 because it basically has none of the new post season 3 flops becky catches will and emma doing the nasty in the bathroom at school which is feral it's apparently because they've been trying to get pregnant and we find out at the end of the episode that emma is finally pregnant now i won't lie to you right now the concept of minnie shusters is genuinely terrifying tina is struggling with the realization that she's about to graduate and might not be spending much time with blaine and sam post-graduation because she's seen how much the previous graduates have completely fallen off the face of the earth so the three of them are trying to create last-minute memories and have their own version of a senior lock-in that's gate crashed by icon becky and goes south when blaine walks in on sam and tina kissing drama drama drama drama turns out it's just a little kissy kiss and meant nothing because of the continuous fighting between rachel and santana which has now evolved into them trying to claim ownership of elliot curt kicks directions are now one week away from nationals with no plans and no songs whereas sugar and joe nobody knows also 10 episodes without britney is 10 episodes too many episode 11 is nationals 2013. now remember famously the new directions won nationals 2012. so now it's very much all lies on them in center of the ring just like a circus and sometimes people forget that this year nationals is in los angeles you know who else was in los angeles me last week did i go for nationals maybe no i was there for the pretty little lies original sin bloody red carpet event hello so the squirt arrives in la and they meet their new arch rival's throat explosion who are led by the guy from pitch perfect he truly looks like a 26 year old man pretending to be a teenager which is exactly what's happening here ryder asks marley why she's updated her facebook job status from singer songwriter to undecided and i just really truly want them to leave my screen but in case you were wondering she changed it because she submitted some songs to a songwriting competition made absolutely no noise didn't debut on the chart she shipped no units she did not ship platinum gold or silver she shipped wood so miley's like that's it i'm a flop i'm done with this [ __ ] after nationals and ryder is like normally and he gets jake to ask mercedes to convince marley to stay also will has assigned sam the role of fearless leader of the new directions in a similar fashion to how finn led the team to victory the previous year at nationals threat explosion before mr roboto and controversially yeah it's slayed as shakespeare famously once said is it not better to bear witness to the slay of one's enemies than for one to never reach the pinnacle of slay themselves the new directions get on stage and their medley is an homage to finn and they sing all of his favorite songs more than a feeling america and i still haven't found what i'm looking for the winner of nationals 2013 is drum roll please okay bye i just want to imply that my butt cheeks were going to clap in the drum roll anyway the windows throat explosion how fun is it that this show is obsessed with being absolutely soul-crushing by making them lose nationals with a fin tribute the end of the episode is will and roz in sue's office where she says roz is staying because the cheerios won nationals and the glee club is over because they didn't win theirs episode 12 is called 100 because that's the amount of times members of the glee club have disappeared for weeks without a trace just kidding that number is actually a lot higher this is the 100th episode of the series and it's a two-parter with episode 13. and these are genuinely great episodes anyone who's anyone is back to commemorate the end of the glee club and all the songs are fantastic and that's because they're redoing their favorite songs and performances from their time in the new directions the reunion of rachel and mercedes reignites a mini talent feud reminiscent of season one but don't you worry don't you fret because they end up being besties again park has joined the air force and is trying to win quinn back from her new finance dude bro daddy's money hampton's caviar rolls-royce boyfriend nate archibald am i supposed to cheer for puck and quinn getting back together because i'm not april rhodes has a cameo and at first i was kind of like why is she here but then i was like why are any of them here and then i remember that this show runs almost exclusively on fan service britney is back and the unholy trinity reunite for a show-stopping breathtaking spectacular performance of toxic by britney spears but now in her maths genius era britney spears is having a crisis because she feels like she has no creativity left she's a little bit all over the place but is also sufficiently in one place enough to have rachel and mercedes on fondue for two and says mercedes used to park and bark in the glee club santana helps brittany realize that maybe being a math genius isn't really what she wants to do santana also decides to double down on her anti-rachel berry agenda and tells everyone that rachel didn't win prom queen in 2012 and she only won because quinn and santana felt bad for her and rigged the votes that she would win rachel offers antenna 10 funny girl shows as lead to resolve their feud and santana's like no i want it all i want it i want it i want it one i want my star on the door time for another iconic cameo gwyneth paltrow as holy holiday she found out about the reunion shenanigans through april because they're both part of the facebook group for people who are guests of the glee club and we find out that she's besties with sue and they want to go on the amazing race together as team gorgeous tina gets knocked out again one thing about tina konchang she's gonna get knocked out and this is happening because sam accidentally swung a trophy into her head while cleaning out the choir room during her hallucinations tina imagines she's in a sitcom called charms that is very similar to an overrated show known as friends oops back in real life tina is stressing because it seems like everyone knows their post-graduation plans except for her and she's still wait listed for brown also we have blaine getting in tonyada santana suggests that she and brittany go chill out on lesbos island for a little bit and she resolves her funny girl feud with rachel by calling the director and resigning as understudy she's basically realized that she doesn't actually want to be on broadway and she's doing this all just because at the end of episode 13 we have artie tina blaine becky brittany and sam graduating and tina finds out that she got into brown sue officially shuts down the glee club and gets will a job interview with vocal adrenaline to summarize here are my thoughts on these two episodes why have they all taken a week out of their lives to [ __ ] around in glee club also if it were up to me i would have made season four and season five an international show choir competition episode 14 honestly feels like a season premiere we have blaine sam and artie now living in new york rachel has been on the road in syracuse doing fanny bryce training fanny on the road road fanny she has this plotline where the producer gives her a car and a driver and she's like la la la this is so great but then she has to learn a lesson that the car isn't so great because it's distancing her from her friends and her city no flop same flop vibes as in devil wears prada where andy starts slaying and then she has to unslay before it's too late what if she just slayed perpetually into perpetuity what would be so bad about that kurt and blaine are living together and it's all cutesy until it's not and they're spending too much time together after a few fights they decide that it would be best for their relationship if blaine moves out sam is couch surfing in the 1800 uk themed let's have a kiki turkey loki time warehouse loft but he's not up to much career-wise because he's struggling with booking modeling gigs mercedes moves to new york from la to work on her album and invites blaine and sam to live with her audie gets robbed on the subway but then eventually gets his stuff back the girls are just girling together in new york as the girls do this is great this is the future that was promised none of that flop mckinley [ __ ] with floppy flop leaf flopper and flake glee in new york just go together like grapes and cheese it's just morally right oh what's that you're feeling good you're feeling positive well that's too bad isn't it in episode 15 kurt gets bashed for trying to help a gay man who's also getting bashed and kurt ends up in hospital like damn okay rachel is having a tough time balancing her funny girl duties with her nyada studies and she decides to drop out of nyada it's a bad decision but i think it makes sense in the circumstance because carmen thibodeau is not budging and won't help reschedule assessments even though rachel is literally a star on broadway like what else is rachel supposed to do quit funny girl the dream job she's been working towards her whole life also mercedes and sam are starting to get back together romantically but she's worried about what will happen when her audience finds out that she's dating a white guy in episode 16 artie is back on his [ __ ] he's at film school and he's dating three girls at once and he also has [Music] no he does not have the smash hit excellent pop song applause by lady gaga baby he has chlamydia this screenshot alone has enough feral energy to power new york city for an entire day i'm convinced blaine has been feeling insecure because kurt has been up in the gym working on his fitness like he's like oh he's also feeling useless because it seems the new strong and independent curt doesn't need blaine to protect him episode 17 is a great episode it's all about rachel's official opening night for funny girl she's been reading some bad comments about herself online and is getting super nervous about the performance so kurt bans her from using any electronics before the show now much like me with my game boy advance on a school night rachel breaks the device's band and is up binge reading bad articles about herself everyone tries to get rachel out of bed the next day including tina who's in town for the show who tries to forge a letter from barbra streisand turns out the only person that can inspire rachel is her nemesis turned friend turned frenemy turned enemy turned friend santana who is back from lesbos i did say this before but i just want to reiterate how much i'm obsessed with how they just completely dropped these plotlines and characters and because they dropped so many of the high school plot lines i'm obsessed with the lengths that they go to to get non-new york city characters into new york city for example in this episode we have sue going to new york city to see rachel's opening night of funny girl and she's only going because will had two tickets but the now pregnant emma can't fly and also on sue's corner she did a rant about how [ __ ] new york is and that's just how sue sees it but then there's a lot of backlash and she was like hmm maybe i should go see it for myself at opening night sue falls in love with this random man who also doesn't want to be there and they end up banging all over rachel and kurt's apartment sure will gets a call that emma's water has broken and then at the end of the episode we find out that they've had a baby boy named daniel finn shuster rachel demolishes her opening night funny girl performance and gets a glowing review from the new york times which is the review that she'd been stressing about the most also when rachel's in her dressing room we can see that she's put a gold star on her door under her name which is a cute throwback to the pilot because remember she said that she used to put gold stars everywhere to remind herself that she's a star it's cute like it's cute what am i supposed to say i just cannot get over the fact that lea michelle is going to be fanny bryce in real life episode 18 is another great episode i mean basically all of the episodes from 17 to the end of the season are great recency bias makes me want to say that season five is better than season four but let's not forget the puppet trauma rachel is absolutely living life post-positive new york times review but we slowly start to see the eight shows a week schedule starting to wear her down and this kind of got me because i was like damn you broadway stars live like this that's like me doing a live stand up of this video eight times a week and the thing about that is i would go absolutely feral and it would become everyone's problem then a man named lee paul blatt introduces himself to rachel he's a representative from fox and he says he has a role he wants her to test for in la but the problem is it's a show night and rachel can't miss the show because as her producer says she is the show she calls the producer pretending to be sick and goes to la for the audition which goes terribly but then things get worse because the producer calls her and says the understudy has fallen off the stage and broken her neck or something so he needs rachel to come in for the 7 p.m show she is in l.a it's not gonna happen blaine becomes besties with a random rich socialite lady called june dollaway and she starts offering him all these opportunities and he's trying to plus one kurt to everything and she's like ew no i don't want a piece of that flop but then blaine tells kurt that there's a spot for him in an upcoming performance when there absolutely is not and i totally can't see that situation going wrong mercedes is having record label drama because her producer doesn't think there's a single on the album so she recruits santana to help her make a [ __ ] popping chart topper but then her producer is like how are you going to sell hundreds of thousands of units on this single that's a duet with a totally unknown artist like santana when you yourself are also relatively unknown and the unfortunate thing is he kind of has a point back in la rachel is absolutely not going to make it to the show in time so guess who steps in to do the performance for her santena remember santana was actually rachel's understudy for a hot minute so it is in her wheelhouse the next day the producer calls rachel into his office and things are about to get atrociously bad for her he says that he would fire her but she's too good however if she pulled a stunt like that or missed a show ever again not only would he sue her for breaching her contract he'll make sure she's blacklisted from broadway rachel leaves and she's like damn that's crazy that's it i'm katy perry chained to the broadway stage forever but then lee paul black calls her and says that they're offering her her own show said new show would involve a writer coming to live with rachel in new york so they can workshop an idea which is what happens in episode 20. rachel giving up broadway to chase the tv cookie oh it is very upsetting to me personally her motivation this whole time was to get on broadway as fanny bryce and she achieves her lifelong goal but then it turns out it's not everything that she's hoped for that is crushing so now she's giving up to do something else it's sad it's truly sad also not convinced about how realistic that situation is like this girly lives and breathes broadway also if you're wondering what happened to the band kurt says that one tree hill is on hiatus because elliot went to a yoga retreat and dany's roller derby team are now state champions so with all his free time because everyone's busy kurt becomes besties with a retired broadway legend named maggie banks and agrees to do a performance of peter pan with her retirement home because the previous peter pan died during rehearsals he wants his friends to come watch the show but everyone's been a little bit [ __ ] especially rachel who's working with santana to fix the developing pr disaster that is her broadway career everyone eventually comes to the performance and it's cute and everyone lived happily ever after until the next episode the season five finale is called the untitled rachel berry project as i said before lee paul blatt has sent a writer to live with rachel to come up with an idea for the show however the writer mary is absolutely insane and her ideas suck britney is finally back on our screens and back in new york after losing her passport and being stuck in the airport like tom hanks in that movie santana is however not in new york because she's off shooting another yeast to stack commercial somewhere the truth about blaine telling kurt that there was a spot for him in the show when there wasn't comes out and kurt is [ __ ] fuming turns out lying is unfortunately not as fun for the glee characters as it is for me after a little bit of fighting clean makeup thank god happy days happy days but for how long sam has a plotline about booking a modeling campaign where he kisses the photographer and he ends up on the side of a bus but then he decides that he's achieved what he wants to achieve and that he's done with modeling now sam and mercedes have been going pretty strong through some ups and downs that i haven't mentioned in the last few episodes such as him getting a dog that eats her hair and her wanting to wait until marriage before doing anything but things have reached a critical point because mercedes is about to go on tour to promote her album they end things and it's a weird one because it's mutual but also not and the reasoning is because sam doesn't want to wait until marriage and mercedes doesn't want him to hate her for it i actually liked these two together so it's sad to see it end after mary writes an atrocious script rachel convinces her to rewrite it and make something less atrocious which she does and everyone likes the new script so much in fact that the network wants to make it into a pilot so the end of the finale is everyone splitting off into their separate directions we have rachel going to la mercedes going on tour sam going back to ohio kurt and blaine staying at nyada and arty staying at film school in new york they all agree that they're going to meet up again in six months in new york city in a particular spot and have a little meet and greet it's the end of the glee new york era and i really liked this era of course it had some absolutely atrocious plot lines but i much much much prefer the new york story lines over whatever marley and ryder and the other flops were doing back at school it's worth mentioning that there was actually going to be an official spin-off of the new york characters so rachel kurt and i think finn as well this was supposed to happen at the end of season three but as we know it didn't eventuate [Music] [Music] hi everyone my name is quinn for slay never could say goodbye no oh baby i had to bring out the blonde wig to go out with a bang bang this is famously the alison wig and oh let me tell you she is crusty this wig is crusty this wig is crunchy you could fold this wig but at the end of the day like do i look good yeah yeah i do what you see on your screen right now is evidence of what happens if you don't stop believing like this is what is possible we did it we did it ho sorry let's get started with season six as you can see i've added some more characters to the board we will discuss them when we get to them although i did add honorary queens holy holiday and april rhodes even though they don't appear in season six i should have added them in season five because remember they appeared in that episode 100 special three things to note before we get stuck into season six this season is much shorter than the rest it only has 13 episodes it's also absolutely batshit crazy and with that said i do think it is the best season out of season four five and six like you can tell the writers just said [ __ ] it let's just do anything plot wise it's a conveniency nightmare but comedy wise yeah it's very funny i was giggling i was having a little giggle now episode one is called loser like me the loser in question rachel berry of course turns out her tv show that's so rachel was cancelled after just one episode for being possibly the worst tv show in history in fact lee paul blatt says if we were to do another episode there will be protesters from unicef she's fired so now she's not attending nyada she's not working on broadway she's not working on a tv show so she heads back to lima and discovers that her dads are divorcing i won't lie it's very bad for rachel right now like everybody knows who she is but it's not because she's a star it's because she's the flop of the century back in her childhood bedroom she looks at her board of dreams and we can see a photo from nationals and a funny girl playbill like damn girly actually really did that after a few months of being in hiding she meets up with blaine and we find out that kurt and blaine have broken up and called off the engagement turns out after everyone left new york they were alone in the loft together and all became a bit too much so kurt ended it blaine got depressed flunked out at nyada carmen kicked him out and he moved back to ohio and is now coaching the warblers sue is now the permanent principal of willie mckinley high school and under her totalitarian regime body mass indexes have gone down and grades have gone up she's also forcibly transferred all of the remaining glee club kids to different schools which is great because we don't have to deal with their atrocious plotlines and love triangles only one ex-directional remains at the school and that's kitty because she's a star cheerio rachel finds out that sue has cut funding for all the arts and humanities programs at the school so she goes above sue's head to the superintendent to try and get the glee club back up and running he says yes but only if rachel pays for it herself and runs it kurt is in his final year at nyada and he has to do this like work study thing and he decides that he's going to do it by going back to ohio and helping rachel run the glee club final year work study oh that sounds familiar yeah that definitely sounds familiar some of us on this screen right now some of us have a master's degree in mechanical engineering and we had to do that as well some of us in flashbacks we see that the reason kurt called off the wedding is because they're essentially still kids and blaine was being a bit overwhelming but he still has feelings for blaine we also see that kurt went to the spot where they all said they were going to meet up six months after leaving new york and no one turned up so now rachel and kurt are going to coach the glee club and sue is [ __ ] fuming and is promising to end them curt meets up with blaine to talk things over but blaine brings his boyfriend dot dot dot dot dot dot dot dave karovsky this is evil fundamental evil shadow realm activities like what the [ __ ] was no one else available even if you must date someone evil with a redemption arc to further the plot why not sebastian smythe hello i look so good like it would scare a lot of people how good i look right now also sam is working as football coaching assistant to coach beast so we already conveniently have four ex-new york characters together back in lima busted timber flake is working as the coach of vocal adrenaline but surprise surprise that evil little trolls also his son is now a toddler also at the start of the episode we saw rachel's gold star fall off her trailer door and then at the end of the episode we see her putting a gold star on the glee sign up sheet the [ __ ] is back baby in episode two mercedes adi santana brittany park quinn and tina are back at mckinley for homecoming i'm telling you these people come back for any and all reasons you could not pay me to go back to school actually no that's a lie i would turn up i would turn up with this wig and in this outfit and be like hey old boy school what are you gonna do about it huh you're gonna fight me i've been practicing i can fight you back i can also run really fast fight you back don't fight me i can fight you back imagine you tried to swing on me and i was just like you would run scared you would and then i would chase you so they're back for homecoming but they're also conveniently back to help rachel and kurt recruit for the freshly resurrected glee club at dalton academy which famously is an all-boys school there's a girl named jane whose parents fought to get her admitted because the quality of education is a lot higher than other schools and she wants to be part of the warblers the wobblers vote on it and decide to not let her in which is crusty and embarrassing and then blaine's like what the [ __ ] i will threaten to resign so that you can get into the warblers and jane's like don't even worry about a babe and she ends up transferring to mckinley and joins the new directions when blaine finds out that jane transferred he's pissed off at rachel and feels like she poached jane from him so now the friendly competition is off and sectionals is going to be a bloodbath we meet a few more characters spencer porter who sue refers to as postmodern gay is like an edgy kind of mean arrogant footballer gay guy who doesn't like all the stereotypically gay things kurt tries to get spencer to join the glee club and he's like no lol that sucks sue tries to get spencer to infiltrate the glee club as her spy and offers him a custom moulded tom brady fleshlight as payment question mark question mark question mark question mark question mark roderick meeks is a newly transferred senior student who has no friends and sings in cursive rachel hears him singing in the air vent and they're all like running around the school trying to find where the voice is coming from and they find him in the library excuse me [ __ ] i don't care if you have no friends why are you singing in cursive in the library the library is a quiet place come on emily blunt quiet place three the library the unholy trinity try to recruit some cheerios and kitties there and says you crusties abandon the previous group as if i'm going to rejoin there's also twins named mason and madison that have weird vibes as in um they're a little bit too close in episode three santana proposes to britney who says yes and kurt is a bit cut up about his engagement going to [ __ ] so he speaks up against theirs and we get an absolutely brutal santana beat down a breathier more feminine queen for bray hello coach beast tells sue and sam that he's suffering gender dysphoria and that he's starting the process to transition into a man with surgery starting the following week as a result of coach beast taking some time away from work sam is promoted to coach of the mckinley high titans and i'm absolutely obsessed with this because there's basically no experience but when has that ever stopped anyone in this show from doing anything they just do [ __ ] also in a nice example of sue not being an absolute [ __ ] she tells coach beast that his job will be waiting for him when he's ready to come back all the alumni are back at mckinley for another week and at this point the show is fully self-aware and doesn't care and we even have jane saying yeah how are you guys doing that becky is also back with a new boyfriend played by 13 reasons why guy and sue is skeptical that he might be taking advantage of her but it turns out he's not and he really likes her episodes four and five are called the hurt locker part one and two and i have to say i think these episodes are in my top ten of the entire series they are so ridiculous and so [ __ ] funny oh my god if you only watch two episodes from season four five and six watch the hurt locker part one and two so we have the new directions vocal adrenaline and the warblers having an invitational and mckinley which is orchestrated by sue and rachel asks will to take the vocal adrenaline performance because her baby glee club will literally melt on the spot if they see that their competition for sectionals is too good which i mean uh like just get better and will's like yeah cool sounds good sue finds out about this conversation via drone and this is fan [ __ ] tastic because these drones are so huge and loud and i love the implication that will and rachel didn't see it at the start of the episode while at mckinley will's having lunch in the staff room with sue and he leaves a plastic fork on the table and that is the last [ __ ] straw and sue snaps she takes becky to a storage unit she calls her hurt locker and inside is basically the glee equivalent of a's lair she's got dolls of all the glee club members throughout the years torture devices pictures and evidence everywhere this is so unhinged it's amazing there's also a photo of the original new directions group with matt highlighted as missing so sue is going to use her hurt locker to ruin will and rachel's lives once and for all but wait she opens a secret door to a hidden section of the hurt locker to reveal a claim shrine yes sue is a serial klan shipper guys i cannot make this [ __ ] up like if i was to make something up about season six and be like yeah blah blah happened it would simply not be as ridiculously iconic as this is i just know that jane lynch was giggling while filming this so in addition to ruining will and rachel sue says that she's going to get claimed back together by any means necessary her plan to ruin rachel is to break her heart so she hypnotizes sam and makes him think he's in love with rachel just so he can snap out of it later and not remember anything when rachel starts reciprocating so when he's hypnotized he's obsessed with rachel but when he's not he's still getting over mercedes sue puts a bear in blaine and dave's apartment like a real physical bear and when kurt confronts her about it she says that she thought that dave was attracted to bears bye kurt's like you're insane and sue says my tenure at this school has expanded my horizons on what is or isn't considered insane will schuster once submerged a lucite platform into the mckinley swimming pool so he could literally walk on water to propose to his girlfriend now that's pretty insane remember that when they all jump into the pool in like a little routine and then we have artie wheeling himself into the pool yeah yeah it's a classic moment it's a classic moment sue also invites all of dave's exes to breadsticks when he and blaine are having a date to make things awkward and she also tells dave and blaine that she did a test with their dna and discovered that they're actually cousins speaking of dates kurt has started seeing a 50 year old man named walter he met online in other news we discovered that brad keeps a scrapbook of women's feet oh okay oh okay yeah now to ruin will sue goes to carmel high to talk to the principal and tell them that will is purposefully tanking the invitational the principal is principal abigail figgins gundersen and sue thinks it's principal figgins in a wig but it turns out principal figgins is abigail's brother who also says that principal figgen's first name is actually principal soo then hypnotizes sam to steal will's mail and to tell will that rachel made him do it and also that rachel blames will for run joey run and for her failed career and this is also that we will get mad and decide to not take the invitational which is exactly what happens and at the invitational vocal adrenaline get up to perform and they do all an excellent excellent excellent mashup of rock lobster and whippet and everyone in the audience is shocked screaming in tears with fear the next stage of sue's clean rehabilitation plan is to create a fake elevator with a bathroom and trap them in there together with a jigsu-doll version of herself on a track that will only let them out once they kiss passionately also sue has all this footage of their relationship over the years including the mulan rouge rooftop dream sequence the warblers get up to perform even though their coach is missing in an elevator with a bathroom and a jigsaw doll on a track and they sing my sharona and you spin me round sue decides to instate the 12 person rule for the invitational which is the only show choir rule anyone remembers and yet every gear is surprised by and this is a problem for the new directions who famously currently only have like four members sam recruits postmodern gay spencer who's secretly been wanting to join even though he said that it sucks and rachel's forced to re-recruit kitty even though she knows kitty and the other old directioners hate her because she didn't remember any of their names i mean i don't blame her for forgetting they were very forgettable kitty and rachel break into sue's computer and find her list of emotionally vulnerable songs to use at their invitational performance we find out that sue nearly had lead roles in star wars pretty woman and scarface and that these songs remind her of that they sing them she gets overwhelmed and she announces that they've won the invitational rachel and will work out that sue had been playing them against each other and hypnotized sam at the end of episode five sue and becky are in the hurt locker looking at a calendar and sue says week five claim friends again we still have six more weeks for scheming possibly seven depending on network preemptions amazing in episode six we discover that britney's parents are played by jennifer coolidge and ken jong but wait it turns out her real dad is dr stephen hawking which explains why she's a math super genius also i'm pretty sure that jennifer coolidge exists in the gluten verse because i'm pretty sure at some point sam does an impression of her but i couldn't find it next we have a story line of britney unsuccessfully trying to convince santana's homophobic abuela to come to the wedding and has her on queso puertos which she just sold to univision mercedes is back and tells rachel that it's cute that she's doing all this you know glee club charity work but she belongs on broadway so mercedes uses her connections to get rachel an audition for a new show rachel and post-hypnosis sam are starting to have real feelings for each other and mercedes like yeah babe go for it sam and i are 100 done over the next few episodes sam and rachel are basically dating i'm just kind of like eh about sam chell hashtag sam chell i don't hate it but i prefer hashtag sam sadies in episode 7 sheldon comes back to mckinley and we have the surprise return of unique singing with a trans choir which is cute i wish they'd found a way to write unique into the season six plot as a main character but anyway the little dungeon trolls under the bridge at vocal adrenaline they write some horrible transphobic stuff on coach b's car to spook the new directions and will tries to reprimand them for and they're just kind of like we don't like you and you have no authority over us rat so will quits as coach of vocal adrenaline and is instead going to be an advisor to kurt and rachel for the new directions around episode seven kurt and blaine are starting to get closer again and blaine and dave break up so now clayne is back on and sue's plan is working episode eight is santana and britney's wedding which at the last minute turns into a double wedding with blaine and kurt because it's apparently britney's wish to see them get married since they were the ones that helped her realize she was in love with santana can you imagine if that happened in real life a last-minute double wedding the fact santana allowed this double wedding shenanigans she's better than me while getting ready for the wedding britney is being superstitious so she's doing stuff such as trying to sacrifice a chicken in the choir room okay the fact that the entire bridal party is glee club members is absolutely insane and i'm a bit fascinated by the implication that none of them have any other friends this wig is falling apart before my eyes like literally in front of my eyes it is falling apart the fringe in front of the eye okay emo come on evanescence now i know the whole claim yolo wedding is obviously fan service but i'm also like you broke off the engagement because you were too young and now six months later you're like yes let's marry sue comes to the wedding even though she wasn't invited but she's allowed in because she managed to convince the homophobic abuela to come and i just know that this lady was having an absolute meltdown when the surprise double gay wedding was revealed some more observations from the wedding suga is randomly at the wedding i mean thank god santana wears like a wedding jumpsuit thing and that just kind of feels wrong her whole fashion aesthetic after she leaves school so season 4 season 5 is really tight form-fitting dresses so i was kind of expecting something like that and not a wedding jumpsuit queen was not at the wedding she's actually here right now but she was not at the wedding and there was no explanation given as to why she wasn't there tina proposes to mike out of nowhere and he's like thanks but no so then tina and artie make a pact that if they're both still single when they turn 30 they'll just marry each other sue cancels the honeymoons and gifts claim a weekend trip to provincetown and gives scentedness oh my god don't look at the back of my hair don't look she gives antenna and britney a month's trip to the bahamas episode 9 is kind of this like feral filler material and i'm just kind of like you could back up a little bit we don't really have time for this we have like four episodes left basically the superintendent's rich and diverse nephew myron demands that the new directions perform at his bar mitzvah and then he transfers schools to mckinley even though he isn't old enough just so that he can join the glee club blah like it's blur in other news post-modern gay spencer is crushing on billy eilish's brother yes the rumors are true phineas plays alistair this long-haired beanie guy that ends up joining the new directions there's other plot lines such as spencer and rodrick becoming friends and mason crushing on jane but honestly who cares i do like all the new glee kids and i think they're ten thousand times better than the season four krusty's but it's definitely still a case of sorry but who are you all and that's the problem with having such a great original group it's so hard to replace them episode 10 is called the rise and fall of sue sylvester and drama is at an all-time high because becky has tipped off the superintendent with the location of sue's hurt locker and he finds it and sue gets fired also dalton academy burns down question mark question mark question mark just classically you know like hehehe cute little plotlines boom a school burned down because the wobblers no longer have a school kurt and rachel invite them to join the new directions which they do and this also conveniently solves the problem of the new directions not having enough members for sectionals also the school burning down is why becky turned sue in because she can't believe that sue is kicking up a fuss about the wobblers joining the new directions even though their school just burned down so with sue's war crimes being exposed all over the news we have all these confessionals such as joe saying sue forced him to cut his dreads and kurt and blaine saying that sue trapped them in a fake elevator with jigsu this is great because all the crazy anti-sew [ __ ] is so funny and doesn't sound real but we know that it happened because we've seen it unfold over the last six seasons rachel has an interview with carmen thibodeau to get back into nyada remember she famously dropped out of nyada to do funny girl and then famously quit funny girl to do her atrocious tv show rachel eventually gets an offer for re-admittance but wait she also gets a call from remember when she did that audition for the broadway show that mercedes hooked her up with she's being offered that as well so it's basically the same decision that she had to make a year ago but what will she choose this time will surprisingly comes to bat for sue during all of the backlash and he's like yes she is a menace but she did actually do great things for the school as principal however freshly fired sue has a new job as the coach of vocal adrenaline there's a scene of will and sue having a dream song battle in the auditorium but kurt and rachel come in and see them going crazy on the air guitars the implications of this are actually world shaking like does it mean all the dream songs performed of them you know running down the hallways singing involved them actually running down the hallways but pretending to sing it's a big question it truly is in episode 11 sue blows up a piano makes all the students and mckinley throw up by poisoning the water supply and blows up will's car so will shaves her head yeah oh okay okay yeah it turns out jessie st james is slated to play opposite rachel in this broadway show that she's been offered which further complicates her decision at sectionals the judges are rod remington donna landry's and racist poodle trixie sue's vocal adrenaline team saying we built this city and hey mickey you're so fine and yes thank you i am it's a hoot it's a great performance it even involves students being shot out of cannons into the crowd the new directions sing take me to church and excuse me as if that song is old enough to be on glee they also sing chandelier and come sail away boom boom boom drum roll please the new directions win sectionals sue reveals to will that she actually threw the competition so that he would win because he was one of the only people that stood up for her post-hurt locker rachel makes her decision and is going back to nyada episode 12 is called 2009 and is a flashback to the events of the pilot 119 episodes ago we find out the circumstances of all the original glee kids signing up for auditions kurt's dad makes him join a club so that he'd have friends tina and artie were dead to do it mercedes was a star performer at her church and rachel was well rachel it's done really well and i think it's a great episode all of the final episodes are good the episode doesn't really factor much into the plot overall but i think it's cute anyway they used some scenes from the pilot and the end of this episode is actually the end of the pilot where the new directions are on the stage in the auditorium singing don't stop believing and you know we got sue santana and quinn up there watching and puck standing there as well and will walks past and sees them singing it just kind of reminds me how [ __ ] good the pilot of this show was there were also some extra moments such as rachel helping kurt find his voice by singing popular from wicked and we see that will and sue were actually friends before he started the glee club and threatened her budget all righty season finale titled dreams come true funny how my dreams come true come on espa in the present day the new directions win nationals and you know what good for them they deserved it they literally had four championship winning coaches kurt rachel will and blaine so it'd be kind of embarrassing if they lost the school district board has decided to turn mckinley into an art school and has appointed will as the principal which he's qualified for me when i lie three months later on his first day as principal he drops past the choir room for auditions and babe it is truly packed to the rafters such a difference to the pilot where he had to bribe finn with medical marijuana and it's so packed in fact they had to okay dr zeus packed in fact it's so packed that they're actually forming three glee clubs and all girls one named the trouble tones yas throwback and all boys one named the julie noted r.i.p dalton academy and the best of the best go to new directions guys why am i kind of giving elsa right now the coach of the elite new directions group is going to be sam mercedes rounds up her besties in the auditorium and says you know what babes it's going to be a long time between drinks because she's been chosen as the opening act for beyonce's world tour sleigh she sings someday will be together and it's really emotional and i don't want to talk about it will and sue have a moment where she finally admits her defeat in their five-year feud by singing the winner takes it all the winner takes it up this [ __ ] wig oh my god time jump to 2020. sue is the vice president of the united states of america and is planning on running for president in 2024. becky is sue's bodyguard and you know what actually with lea michelle on broadway as fanny girl i wouldn't be fanny girl why is that so funny with lea michelle on broadway as funny girl fanny bryce i wouldn't be surprised if suddenly jane lynch was like you know what i am going to run for president in 2024. next we see mercedes tina arty blaine and kurt arriving at rachel's house and tina and adi are a couple what's their ship name artina hashtag tarty rachel is pregnant and is kurt and blaine's surrogate she's also married to dun dun dun dun dun jessie st james rachel and jessie go to the tony awards where she's nominated for best actress in a broadway musical against anne hathaway in her one-woman show and exclamation point rachel wins and dedicates the award to will who we can see back in ohio watching the ceremony on his tv and he's sitting in his living room watching it with emma sam sue three kids and a baby also side note i love how they're all like what eight years out of high school and they're suddenly all getting married and having babies like that is so me vibes that is so me that is so realistic a few months later we see vice president sue at mckinley and she's giving a speech about how she was wrong about the glee club and she renames the auditorium after finn so now it's called the finn hudson auditorium she also mentions how underwhelmed the school has become a huge success and is going to be replicated across the country the final scene of the series is everyone singing i lived and it's pretty much every major character except mali it kind of has the same vibe as the end of a broadway show where all of the actors get on stage in a line and bow it's cute and yeah it's not realistic at all that all these characters came back to be at the school at the same time but when has anything about this show being realistic and that's it the entirety of glee all six seasons i do think that that was a solid series finale by the way there are some shocker finales out there and i feel like glee did a good job at closing out story lines and ending on a nice note in summary do i think that this show is worth watching yes is it absolutely insufferable in parts yes does it do an equally great and terrible job at discussing societal issues in between show tunes absolutely i think this show is at its best when it's purely trying to be a
