Hi, I'm JIHYO. I love Paris! Paris! Today we go to
Ami by Alexandre Mattiussi. Hi! Hello! And the designer
is in a good mood. Do you often play
“Eenie-meenie-miney-mo”? Yes I do. The collection is
about Parisians. Pretty rich. Rich kid! A Parisian residential building full
of surprises and intriguing owners. A Paris apartment
building with 63 neighbors. I like it when people come to
Ami, like when you go to your favorite restaurant and you
know you're in for a good meal. K-pop sensation
Jihyo talks to us. Ross Lynch. I gotta get me
some of those tank tops. I wear tank tops on stage a lot.
So I gotta get me something. Gavin Casalegno. Oh, of
course. The croissants every day. On the catwalk, Lou
Doillon , Audrey Marnay, Laetitia Casta, Diane
Kruger. Bravo, bravo, bravo. Will Chalker is here to
destroy your heart again. Jonathan Saxby. I'm comfortable
in it, you know? Just good vibes. Imaan Hammam. What's your
favorite thing to do, Paris? To eat! América Gonzalez. Ugbad. Léon
Dame. Etienne. He Cong. Malick Bodian. Pain au chocolat
or Babka. Babka! Apolline Rocco
Fohrer. Mona Tougaard. The nanny is here. Fran
Drescher. I'm very fluent in Le Menu. Choi Woo-shik! It was wonderful. Juliette Binoche. It's
magnificent, really. Isabelle Adjani. Dominique Fischbach.
I love France. Chouquettes, chouquettes. What are
chouquettes? They're so good! What is it? Hello, I'm Loic Prigent. Subscribe to my

It's my free website about fashion and inspirations.
It's full of exclusive content, long articles, cool videos.
You can even search for your favorite brands or trends.
It will fill your moodboard. I'm aching all over.
I swear, I'm aching. We have this previous super interesting
interview with Alexandre Mattiussi from Ami, where he gives you the 10 tips
to launch your own brand. Don't miss it. A croissant, please.
Ami Fall Winter 2024. Alexandre Mattiussi
welcomes us to his fittings. The mood is… well, Ami, which
means friend, super friendly, actually. How's the dog, how's Thelma?
It's funny to see you with a dog, because now on
Instagram, your life has changed. The invitation of the
show is quite intriguing and typically Parisian, with
typically Parisian humor. You've got the fake
stamps, you've got the note in the mailbox. "To you,
whom I have the pleasure of meeting every morning at
9 a.m. in the elevator. You make my day. You're my
neighbor on the third floor." The invitation is from the babysitter
who comes by in the morning and... What's in there? There's my Christmas
card, I was in Rio, that's why I'm blond. There's the little ticket,
monoprix, but no, Amiprix. You win a place, an invitation,
you have to scratch. Useful numbers. So, can we call them, what's
there? There are all the Ami boutiques in Paris. How convenient. And
then there are the little things that work. Is there a stylist? Yes.
Can we call it? Of course you can. So myself, I don't know who's
going to answer. But we'll go. Yes, hello? Hello, are you
a stylist? I'm sorry, what? Are you a stylist? Yes, I
am. Hello sir, I'm Alexandre Mattiussi. I'm calling because
I'd like to know if you have any advice on what to wear
tomorrow morning. Quite simply. I didn't understand the
question. I think I have the wrong number, sir. But I'll
give you a kiss. See you soon. So that's very funny, he's
really called a stylist? Yes. Oh, is that what you've done? Yes.
But you're crazy, it's Mr. Stylist. That's great! I think that was really his
job. Oh no! Ah so, Monsieur Couturier, Monsieur Presing, Monsieur Cordonnier. These
are little jokes we put in the invitation. I wasn't sure about
that. There you go. The psychic. Shall we call her? Welcome to the
fortune-telling service... We're just messing around.
How are you? How are you? I'm so glad you
could get me out of my hole. Lou Doillon just arrived for her
fittings. She will be modeling tomorrow. Would you like a drink?
I've got my chicorée. I don't know what
chicorée is. Chicory is what you drank during the
war, when there was no coffee. And so it makes
everyone anxious and I love it. What does
it smell like? It's like coffee. But there's
no coffee. Interesting. When you're used to
drinking coffee all day long, you get a little
confused with chicorée. The next day, the Ami fashion show will
take place in the tennis club of Paris. Superstar Jihyo takes her seat. It's my first time meeting
the leader of the Korean girl band Twice. I dare
to ask a few questions. May I ask you what is the
mood of your look tonight? How do I look? I’m just
dressed very neutral, very calm. What is your favorite detail
of your look? Even though it’s very understated and
very neutral, there’s this big slit so I really love
this look. What do you think of Alexandre Mattiussi's
work at Ami? I think it’s very cool because Alexandre
has been leading the brand for a really long time and
I’m very honored to be here! The Parisian set, a Haussmannian
building, gets everybody excited. The set is so cool. I've been coming
to Paris since I was a child, and I know all those little, cute little buildings,
so it's taking me back to memory lane. It's beautiful. City of love.
Go there and find love. What's your favorite thing
to do in Paris? I'll walk and go to see art. Paris itself is
what I have a love affair with. My favorite thing to
do in Paris… I had the best massage I've
ever had in Paris. I don't know what she knew.
Her name was Stephanie, but she was amazing.
Also, I love the accent. I love French. I've always wanted to learn
French. Can you challenge the French accent? Oh, my God. No, but
I can say, "My name is Dominique. I love France"
You like that? Okay. Favorite thing to do in Paris. Just
to go out and have drinks with some friends. It's my birthday today, so
I'm going to go out and do that tonight. Paris has unbelievably good sushi. I
don't know why, but the sushi is amazing. Backstage, Alexandre
Mattiussi is nervous, but he hides it with his
typical Parisian humor. Normally, it suits me... You know,
a little simple black suit. The Dad. Mona Tougaard opens the
show. Her suit has these three distinctive buttons that are
the signature of the season. Audrey Marnay has four of them. They're big buttons that I love. They
came quite late in the season. And I put them everywhere, earrings,
rings, big necklaces... It's Arpège! They're almost like chocolate candy. For
me, it's chocolate, you want to eat it all. Malick Bodian with gloves, a
zest of lemony yellow. Enjoy it, because this is not the
most colorful collection. The Parisians in color,
it's not a love affair. The Parisians in the subway
all seem to dress in black. I like my sweater, it's
elegant. I really like suits, but above all I like them to
be very simple and wearable. Lou Doillon appears with
the first bag of the collection. Catherine Deneuve's bag,
which has evolved with its little wooden handle, its little
clasp like this, all in gold. She told me to add a pocket. I added a
pocket. Did she ask? Yes, she said: Alexandre, I really like this bag, but you know
what, I'm missing a little pocket here. Stripes, stripes, stripes.
Full stripes, total looks. Imaan Hammam with a Parisian
ultimate trick, a belt-it coat. It's very elegant, chic. You don't have
to wear anything under. Just a coat. Anne Catherine Lacroix, a
belt-it coat, and it's enough. When he walks his dog, he needs
slippers. Julien, isn't this for you? I've got a little tank-top
inside, a bit see-through. A little short. Ah yes,
it's true that there's a bit of a yard. How
does it feel to wear a coat like that? You feel
motivated to go to the bakery. It's about Paris and the
spirit of Paris is... the bakery. What do you order at the bakery on Sunday
morning? Pain au chocolat. Croissant. Pitchounette. It's filled with chocolate
pastries. Pitchounette? From Paris? Yes ! I like pains au chocolat,
but fresh. What's a good pain au chocolat?
Warm. It comes out of the oven and inside it's
not quite cooked yet, so the chocolate melts
and the puff pastry is all sticky. That's a good pain
au chocolat. The pastry needs to be a little
crisp, but not too much either. You need to be
able to smell the butter, it needs to melt a
little but still be crisp. What's your favorite order at the Bakery?
Pain au chocolat? Pain au chocolat! At the bakery, I always take a
pain au chocolat. I always do! Julien, what's your favorite pastry?
Mine's a cream puff. Of course it is. At the "Tranché" bakery. They're
like big chouquettes with cream. But you never bring them to the office,
that's not cool. No, I keep everything to myself. And you, Clément, what's
your favorite pastry? Swiss bread! What's underneath those belt-it
coats? Victoria Fawole shows us. It's, of course, a négligée. The
Parisian woman between lovers. Jeanne Cadieu has another bag. The Paris-Paris, voilà, it begins.
Bags are wonderful, because you never know. You never know if
it's going to work or not. You try it, and then that's it, there's this
magic happening with this bag. It's called the "Paris-Paris". And
you see, it comes in lots of colors. The neighbor is nice, but a bit
of a bore. You have to be careful. It's the little skirt underneath, which is
mini, very, very mini. You can't see it. This is my very own
pair that I designed for myself. And then I wrote:
Ami, Alexandre Mattiussi. This is my pair.
And these are yours. Jonathan Saxby has a
mysterious neighbor, the one you hope will make
too much noise with his Mozard, so you can
knock on his door to please less loud, or knock at
the door to ask for salt. Do you have spare salt? Yes?
Oh, thank you. Is it organic, though? Characters, neighbors... There's
the divorced woman, there's the sexy 45-year-old guy on the 4th floor, who
you dream of meeting every morning. When we hear his door open, we purposely
go "Ah, hello, how are you?" Andres! The life of this little company that
is a building, and the dog that cries. I love that it symbolizes
friendship, the good life, just casual, smart, and that I'm comfortable
in it, you know? It's just good vibes Pierrick Grégoire in the coat
Alexandre Mattiussi, wants you to invest in. The coat
he wants to be famous for. The coats were
incredible. I love the winter white. It was a model
that was wearing a coat similar to this, but I
think it was whiter, really stunning. It was a good
look for a red carpet. Achille Genet as a neighbor
who wears see-through tank tops and sleeps when
you're awake and vice versa. What do you think of your look this
evening? I'm pretty happy with it. It's simple, but very effective. I love
the pant. They're really cool. I like the way it's a bit sober chic, but
at the same time very effective. It's still very simple, but with a little
detail. I'm very happy to be here today. Rubuen Bilan-Carroll as
a romantic student who will accidentally become an
actor in a Christophe Honoré film where you will have a
love triangle with two other moody characters. I'm so
moody. Not cursed, moody. The Ami brand is growing
and growing and growing. It's a big machine now.
We have 650 employees and 180 stores worldwide.
We've opened over 20 this year. We're opening our
biggest boutique to date in the Marais, in July,
during the Olympic Games. 600 square meters for men and
women. It's going to be wonderful. So we're really in that phase where, finally,
Ami is 13, so that's it, we're entering adolescence. He's a kid, he speaks
several languages, he'd already been around the world four times. But it was also
time to refocus our attention on him. I tightened the screws a
bit. Like a good family man. Let's calm down a bit.
When you're in this kind of hyper-growth, when
everything's growing fast, fast, fast, fast, you have to be even
more protective of the house. The coats are warm. I've
been wearing one this week and it's been like 30 degrees.
I've been so warm and nice. Our idol, Apolline Rocco Fohrer. The casting
is stellar, done by Piergiorgio Del Moro. Léon Dame in Ami jeans
and a catwalk-friendly sweater to please the
fashion editors in the room. I saw a bunch of different
pieces that I'm like, I need that personally. I
mean, there's so many. I just recorded them
so I could remember. I look back and say it's
the one. This is the one. But Ami is also about denim, casualness,
La Sorbonne University prepiness. Will Chalker, the ultimate
male supermodel, class of 2005. If you know, you
know, and you need a break. It's an Ami indigo moment. My outfit is giving. I
like the color because blue is one of my favorite
colors. I feel excited because this is my
second time working for them. It's really amazing,
they want me back. You know Dad's good jacket, come rain, shine
or snow. You know it's going to keep its promise. It's comfortable, it's got pockets
and buttons. And a zipper if it's too cold. Diane Kruger on the
runway. It's an Ami tradition in the middle of the show,
suddenly an actress, an icon. Isabelle Adjani herself did it and
Catherine Deneuve in the room was gagging. Isabelle, it’s
Isabelle? She asked. It was Isabelle. What do we want? A good suit.
A Julia Nobis worthy good suit. A strict good suit. Xu Wei is the beauty of the day. Sara Caballero is
the beauty of the night It's the little dress
for going to the opera. My heels, which are now my
signature heels, in black and green. In fact, it becomes
a kind of fantasy like that. s Etienne De Testa who
used to be Ami's intern and a regular model
for the brand since years. Étienne the intern. Just imagine... How
long ago, maybe 10 years? 7, 8, 9, 8. 2015! We are in the Ami night section.
Muslin embroideries giving nighttime, giving wet sidewalk
of the Avenue Junot effect. Ami spelling luxury super
sophisticated embroideries. It's very by hand. Is
it? Yes ! Everything is... There are women's jackets, there
are men's jackets, but that doesn't mean women can't still go for the idea I
originally allotted to men for women. What's so special about the Ami pants? I
like silhouettes like that, when it breaks on the shoe. Deep pockets.
You see, you can really collapse into your
pants, and I love that. There was a pair of blue jeans that were
embellished with stones or gold. I need them! What's your favorite element in your
outfit tonight? Is that even a question? Are you serious? I feel like the Eiffel
Tower, when it shines at night, that's what I'm channeling when I'm walking,
is that spunky little Eiffel Tower. This is the most elegant
outfit of all. You can’t go to a party/business
without it. Shiny, perfection. Babacar Gning got what
I think was the best suit of the season, a double-breasted
kind of perfection. Passage 62, Laetitia
Casta close the show. Laetitia, she closes the show, she puts on
a trench coat, she's probably naked under the trench coat by the way. Oh, is she?
She's got her hands in her pockets, she's taken her keys. She must have taken 10
bullets to buy croissants, a baguette, and maybe some food for the cat. She hurries
back upstairs, she's got a script to read. I'm a fan of Laetitia Casta, so it's
beautiful. I think there's always a very elegant sobriety. It's a bit contrary
to a lot of houses, which always add something extra. But with Ami, there's
always something more and more refined, a line that's become simpler and
simpler, and it's really magnificent. I always enjoyed fashion, but I think
tonight I kind of fell in love with it. To me, it was like walking
you through the whole day, waking up in
Paris vibes, and then all the way to… By the
end, I felt like it was a night out. I hope to
recreate it tonight myself. It's the finale, and Alexandre
Mattiussi takes his bow. Finally, when I think back to the story
of me, with this crazy idea, leaving Marc Jacobs, 13 years ago,
14 years ago. Thinking I really had something
to say, and you don't know that when you're young, you doubt it,
you doubt it all the time, but one day you wake up, you say to yourself, well, actually,
this is what I love most in the world. It is not necessarily to make clothes,
it is the idea that through a garment, you can make someone happy, you can
participate in his personal development. I believe that the role of
the garment, it is there, it’s essential in our
well-being and in our way of living things, to meet
people, we will always remember the sweater worn
by the guy you love today. Thank you, thank you, thank
you! Did you like it? I loved it! Congratulations. How are you?
It’s so hot in here! Oh my god! Hey! It was wonderful, thank
you very much. So beautiful. Wow, so much emotion. I
know. Did you like it? Yes. I love the way you dress.
Thank you. You put spark-ups tonight. Yes, I was the
whole center of the empire. Hello, I'd like to give
you a big hug, I'm very moved. And congratulations.
It's magnificent. Thank you so much. Thank you
so much. It's my first time here... Yes, I'm delighted,
thank you for accepting our invitation. I'm really
pleased. Thank you so much. Thank you. Oh,
wonderful. I'm very moved. Bravo for your work.
Thank you, it's a beautiful emotion. Have a good
day, Juliette. See you soon. Hello, nice to meet you.
I give you a hug like this. Thanks for being here. Did
you like it? Yeah, this is for you. Wow. Thank you very
much, thank you very much. I will open this tonight, at my
place. Did you like it? Yeah. Thank you for being fantastic. I
love it. Thank you. Bye bye, thank you. Hello, how are you? Good,
how are you? It's a beautiful show. It's great to be here. Did you
like it? Yeah, it was beautiful. I apparently get to pick one of
the outfits from the show. And I'm already having decision anxiety
because I don't know which one to pick. I'm starstruck by the
appearance of the icon from The Nanny, Fran
Drescher, the founder of the nonprofit Cancer Schmancer
and the super powerful president of the SAG-AFTRA
labor union in Hollywood. Congratulations.
Brilliant. Perfect! I think he outdid himself.
This is really an incredible collection. It's something that
I will have for many decades because I take care of my
clothes and when they're well made, you can enjoy them
for many, many years, as I do. This was my Ami report for fall
