will have to show a requirement to manage inspire and lead a team of people to ensure all tasks are completed to the highest standards possible as you and I know Amazon operates to very very high standards outstanding customer service so as a manager you need to make sure that you implement and follow that you'll have to conduct staff appraisals on a periodic basis to make sure all staff have the necessary training the skills and qualities required to perform their duties correctly you'll have to keep up to date with Amazon's operating procedures the company guidelines and their protocol have to learn understand and make sure you use all of the 14 Amazon leadership principles that are at the core of everything you do and my advice is to be aware of the Amazon leadership principles number one tell me about yourself and why you think you'll make a great manager for Amazon so here's my suggested answer I am a highly professional determined and positive manager who takes the responsibilities that come with the role seriously I am a naturally driven person who has the interpersonal skills the decisiveness and the ability to achieve tough targets and complete challenging projects all whilst under pressure I understand that Amazon has only reached the status it has is the largest online retailer in the world by employing staff for managers who all work towards achieving the same goal now having studied the Amazon leadership principles I can assure you I have the necessary qualities and attributes to perform the role to a very high standard now if you employ me as your manager I will work extremely hard to make sure both myself and the team I am managing all work hard to ensure Amazon stays at the forefront of the industries that's a great answers passionate its detailed and it proves that you're a positive manager who can help Amazon to continue to thrive within the industry it is performing in next question why do you want to work for Amazon so why have you chosen Amazon and why do you want to work for us as a manager here's my suggested answer I want to work for Amazon as a manager because not only are you the clear leader in this industry but you are also innovative in your determination to maintain your status there's the number one place to shop online for a multitude of gods and services if I get to become a manager at Amazon not only will I be working alongside some of the most talented people around but I will also have the peace of mind I'll have a part to play in continuing to make Amazon one of the greatest companies ever to be started for many years to come and being part of the Amazon management family is my number one priority and I feel very strongly I've built up the necessary skills the experience and the qualities to help you continue to thrive develop and flourish within the online shopping industry so another solid answer to the Amazon manager interview question let's take a look at another one tell me the different skills and attributes you possess that will help you to become a competent manager for Amazon no I've studied the Amazon leadership principles and I've used some of these in my answer to this question so here's my suggested answer to that tough interview question I have seven core skills and attributes that will help me to become a competent manager at Amazon these are the understanding that I must take responsibility for not only my actions but the actions of the people I am managing within the company a solid set of communication and interpersonal skills that allow me to inspire and motivate those people within my team to achieve great things the ability to achieve difficult and time-sensitive tasks and projects whilst under pressure and also the understanding that everything I do whilst working for Amazon must be centered on those 14 amazon leadership principles now in addition to those I've just mentioned I am also able to negotiate and persuade in a strong and positive manner to help others achieve the company's goals and targets hold other people accountable for their actions and also maintain very high standards in everything I do whilst working towards Amazon's core objectives I believe our will be a strong and inspirational manager and Phil you will be impressed with my strong work ethics and determination to consistently succeed whilst in the role so that gives them seven core skills and attributes that's what I would say in response to that interview question now I've got two more to go through so please do stick Amazon leadership principles in a previous role so I've chosen what here which personally I think is the most important and then I've embedded it in a suggested answer here we go I've studied the Amazon leadership principles in detail to make sure I can perform all of them as required within this position of manager now one of them I believe I've been consistent in in every role of undertaken so far is that of insisting on the highest standards achievable for example whilst working in my last team I'm a difficult project a couple of the team members suggested we cut corners on one particular element at the project to save time and to also allow us to ensure the project was completed I immediately disagreed and explained that this was not the way to do things I insisted that instead of cutting corners we should all stay behind an additional hour each day to do the project tasks properly and to also make sure we get the job completed on time now whilst this was an unpopular suggestion the most important thing for me was to do things right and to make sure the project was completed on time there are no excuses for projects being completed late and I would always ensure everything is done to the highest standards achievable whilst working as a manager for Amazon so that shows it gives a specific situation where you demonstrated one of the Amazon leadership principles let's now take a look at another question how would you handle it difficult and unproductive member of your team as their managers so this can happen sometimes and the majority of people who work for Amazon a brilliant they you know but sometimes some people won't perform to the required standards and as a manager you have to get on top of it straight away so here's my answer to this question I would take decisive action as soon as I realize the team member was not performing to the required standard I would speak to them initially to make them aware of their shortcomings and explain what they needed to do in order to put things right now during my discussions with them I would also ask to see if there was anything that was hindering them from performing to the necessary standard I've been in situations before where a team member has not been carrying out their duties correctly because of a personal issue that they had ongoing at home in that type of situation I would still require them to get back up to speed quickly but I would also put steps in place to support them during their difficult period it would be my sole focus as their manager to get them back up to speed as soon as possible so as to not affect the wider team goals or the organizational objectives so that shows that you take action straightaway you also look to see why the person is not
