Alternate History: What If WW1 Never Happened?

kaiser wilhelm ii a conflicted and tortured figure who led his light by fury and motion his story that of the last kaiser of germany in King of Prussia was ripe with tragedy from its inception born the eldest grandson of Queen Victoria Wilhelm was the son of Princess Victoria of Britain and Frederick William of Prussia Wilhelm's grandmother Queen Victoria had sent one of her finest British physicians to ensure the birth of ransom be carried out properly however Willems birth faced a complication which led one of his arms to become paralyzed leaving him with a withered arm six inches shorter than his other from the very start it would appear this disability had made him a bitter young man as he grew up it was believed that he blamed his grandmother and the British physician for his condition instilling within him an early resentment of all things British in fact at the mere age of four went on a trip to England for a wedding the young four year old Wilhelm threatened 18-year old prince albert of britain with a toy dagger now I say toy dagger but some instances of the story indicate that it was just a miniature dagger and wasn't fact made of sharpened metal through his teenage years to his graduation from school Wilhelm demonstrate consistent and resounding intelligence this however was a trait often overwhelmed by his uncontrollable temper and pugnacious Ness something that was greatly encouraged by the warrior culture of Prussia which Wilhelm embraced wholeheartedly will home would come to praise and idolize his father and grandfather for the military accomplishments but would grow to develop I see often unpredictable ties with his English mother who he perceived as manipulating his father robbing him of his discipline independence and manhood believing that she was too soft a woman often attempting to liberalize Wilhelm in the British fashion but greater and greater his passion for Groo it soon became evident to Wilhelm that his mother and father all putting forward the interests of Britain over those of Prussia Wilhelm's grandfather held a sense of pride in seeing the young Prussian man that Wilhelm was growing into and appointed him to his first military position as a lieutenant who was there that well hum said in his own words that he had found the family and direction he had until that point bit without he had found his place and he had found his passion but once again tragedy struck Wilhelm's father had grown ill his wife would once again call an English doctor to take care of Frederick but last the doctors attempts were in vain to Wilhelm however this cemented in him an anger and disdain that made itself clear and an outburst recorded in April 1889 where he states it was an English doctor who had crippled him and an English doctor who killed his father and that all of this was the fault of his English mother in absence of his father Otto von Bismarck began filling the role of a guiding figure and advisor to Wilhelm but this relationship would soon sour as the two would split on both domestic and foreign policy Bismarck attempted push for lasting peace with Russia while Wilhelm rapidly sought out a war of aggression Wilhelm had hopes of great certain protections for the German workers all Bismarck attempted to quash an outlaw any socialistic policies initially himself sponsoring securities for the German workers but eventually becoming disillusioned with the attitudes of those calling for such reforms doing that they were exploited in nature ultimately Wilhelm dismissed Bismarck and began running things as he saw fit leading him to enlarge the creeks marine or the turbine Navy imposed dominance over foreign colonial holdings during the Moroccan crisis and further sour ties with Britain and a time when negotiations of peace and cooperation could have been fostered and were meant to be fostered but failed to manifest due to the foolishness of both Britain and the German Kaiser all the wild relations with Russia continually grew colder without the renewal the Insurance Treaty meeting Russia to build a closer lines with France before we know it Austrian Archduke Franz Ferdinand is assassinated Austria declared war on Serbia Russia retaliates Germany retaliates Britain and France joined the war and we know what happens next World War one spelt the end of the German Empire and the abdication of the Kaiser who fled into a self-imposed exile in the Netherlands this paved the way for the ascension of the Third Reich in the wake of political turmoil within Germany setting the stage for the next world war the competence of the Kaiser is often debated though if research can be relied upon it would seem that the Kaiser was properly trained to fill his role as leader of Germany and in the Prussian fashion trained to lead an army but Wilhelm's emotions and psychological state made him one to make poor decisions and act on impulse ideologically the Kaiser zone vision for the future of Germany didn't seem too well planned either suggesting a lack of foresight and thus we can assume his strategies for the war either poorly thought-out or non-existent hence why he became a shadow Kaiser during the war and the role of the army went to Hindenburg what this means that the Kaiser himself was like he broke a piece of a machine but the machine worked exceedingly well and Wilhelm was also meant to but a poor upbringing and mental instability led him to guide the machine in an irreparable direction so then let's pose the question of what would have happened had the Kaiser never led Germany into World War one what if as had occurred in our timeline an assassination attempt been made on Wilhelm in 1901 during his visit to Bremen but this time the assassin is successful well wool would fall to alums nineteen year-old son will hunt third a more passive less bitter man would have been unlikely afire Bismarck by this was already fired and long-dead leaving well on the third with only his own guidance and that of the remaining advisors his father left behind and while that might not sound like the best situation it is enough to avert the Moroccan crisis potentially leaving this more passive Kaiser to accept peace deals with Britain and perhaps even attempt to mend relations with Russia regardless of this volume the third was nowhere near as personally close with Franz Ferdinand as his father was meaning that the emotional impulse that motivated Wilhelm the second is no longer there no relationship with Franz Ferdinand and thus the Great War is a vertical it would really just be a matter of how well on the third and the other European countries approach diplomacy in the early nineteen hundred's but regardless of how that is the war could still be stopped we'll suggest that through whatever means world war one never comes to pass the Archduke is still fascinated but Germany Britain and France never get involved perhaps even Serbia Russia and Austria void war thanks to the new German Kaiser who talks the Austrian Kaiser after 13 war may be insisting that Germany would remain neutral regardless of Austria's decision and that the Austrian Empire especially given its internal strife could face collapse even if it defeated Russia my German pal Jake of a similar scenario where World War one has avoided over on taxes Toria likes the description if you'd like to check it out ultimately no matter the outcome the austrian empire would be in a dire need of restructuring war and the death of franz ferdinand would only expedite that process of internal decay but if we avoid the toll of the great war the austrian empire wallet would bear the losses of nationalist revolts and secessionist movement may still emerge with more territory and stability than in our timeline hungary breaks away as its own independent Kingdom while Croatia and Slovenia break free Poland would yet to have become its own country we might also see independence movements arise from the Chechen Slovak populations within austria-hungary these two did have some momentum behind them and if ever there be a time for the poles to break away this would be their opportunity to form a small state out of the Hungarian land to the north potentially uniting their newly independent state with their secessionist neighbors to create the union of Czechs low backs of poles which would inevitably most likely once these separate states felt that they were confident enough in their ability to defend against the empires around them or simply fell into spheres of influence like Poland aligned with the Russians the Czechs aligned with the Germans and no slow backs aligned with Hungarian something of that sort austria feeling rather isolated in developing closer ties with Germany in a less hostile Europe now has the opportunity to unite into a greater German Empire the Union would reassure Austria that they would have the strength to retake Slovenia and regain access to the Mediterranean on a grand scale this means three big things one there's no rise of the u.s. to the economic international powerhouse it had become in our world leaving the us to remain an isolationist nation continually enforcing the Monroe Doctrine and manifest destiny expanding throughout North America through financial military means buying up underpopulated lands from Mexico Canada and Colombia the screen of the new territories of Greater Panama Cuba Baja Cascadia and Hyperborea secondly Imperial decline never occurs Africa remains a grand for continued Imperial development while German ambitions of creating a great middle Africa colony continue leading them to purchase up small portions of the Belgian Congo as well as land from neighboring colonies since Africa was mostly occupied by the French and British China weakened by regime change following the end of the Qing Dynasty and succumbing to infighting between the various warlords becomes a new site for those late to colonization efforts in Africa thus we see Chinese land being sliced up grossly by Japan Russia and Germany thirdly and finally we never see the rise of the new ideologies of communism or fascism to the scale of our timeline as Russia never pushes its population to the breaking point and add Italy really doesn't have anybody to blame for its problems anyway and even if Muslim did rise to power fascism would probably remain isolated to the states of Italy Spain maybe Portugal and Greece at most instead we'd see an age of empires rise higher and higher the u.s. proving itself to be a Titan in its own right amassing a great source of resources and assets across the Americas while Germany and Japan begin developing their own overseas colonies the issue of course becomes a matter of who is the better Empire and who will dominate in the end Germany and Britain in the post-war period could develop closer ties perhaps fulfilling Bismarck's hopes of isolating France and leaving them vulnerable to a future invasion all the while German and Russian relations would also finally begin to improve in a hypothetical distant future we'd likely see France knocked out of this fight leaving Germany and Britain to become rivals while the same became of Russia and Japan in a rivalry of size versus strategy ultimately history continues on his head in the centuries prior with a - free of the world for averted but war was indeed change the world powers were becoming increasingly more dangerous and it only be a matter of time until that power was left
