ALL NEW HUGE JUMP LINE at Whistler Bike Park! + New Bike Upgrades!

whoa [Music] Whistler has about six or seven brand new trails open now for us to ride mostly all in the Creekside Zone and one Trail up in the garbanzo area in today's video we are going to ride them all and one of the special Trails insomnia is not actually new but it's got new A-line style jumps on it I'm really excited to try those I'm joined by fellow YouTuber Nick from the channel van cam they're a freight train unfortunately it rained the night before so things are looking wet and muddy with some new fresh trails at Creekside this is going to mean some interesting trail conditions I think I can feel the bigger wheel in the back now what I'm referring to there is actually a brand new 27.5 wheel set I put on my maiden so that means no more 26 inch rear wheel I was riding that the entire time I've had this bike so far and I thought it would be a great time to try out the new DT Swiss FR 541 rims on the New Hope Pro fives and I decided to use the steel e-bike Fria body because it's going to be stronger and I don't need as much engagement I also decided oil slick spokes should be pretty sick on this build and my shop of choice to build up these wheels for me is MB bikes they're located in Port Coquitlam BC and they also have an online store I got to see the whole process all the wheels are hand built custom cutting and threading the spokes to perfectly fit the wheel set they've got some pretty high-end equipment here which allows them to build the strongest Wheels they keep the spoke tension variants below five percent to keep your wheels lasting longer without needing maintenance they really emphasize these dressing the wheel and preventing spoke wind up this is one of the cool tools they use to do that so Indie bikes wanted to give you all a discount code and labor to me for free so my Rocky Mountain Maiden has two different dropouts for 26 inch or 27.5 inch to keep the geometry the same so now we're going to use the upper hole for 27.5 inch I've got the acigai tire in the front and I'm trying a wire bead High Roller 2 Tire in the rear we're going to Frick that was scary Palm corners never tried this one yet I'm pretty sure this one already existed a few years ago but I've never had a chance to ride it yet okay barking duck so this was a new one or something oh look at that that's cool I like this I like how it's uh feels like more tight not as bike Parky it's been a while since I've ridden in wet dirt like this quite a while fresh berms it's just rotting really slow right now earth circus may be running slow because it hasn't been packed down very much but freight train over in the garbanzo area does not have that problem in fact all the regular Fitzsimmons trails are all running quite well and fast all right some fit Simmons lops here finally riding it in the uh some wetter conditions yeah more people were riding this fit Simmons area than the Creekside area so far but I think creekside's gonna get really good once it dries up a bit it was just kind of running a little slow some of that stuff but the weather is only getting better in fact tomorrow is going to be sunny so everything should be riding a lot better by then I like the dirt now my uh I lost my rear brakes from the gondola lift up being vertical smooth Trails like A-line were still riding really well while techy Trails like Tatiana not so much this is a sketch you're in the wet for sure that is definitely a sketch you're in the way Ho Chi Minh for arms some of those fun berms in the park yo that is good but let's check out some more new stuff on Creekside try a few new trails so you spinar let's uh let's try the blue one a little slot Quest there huh I'm really enjoying these like single track Blues it's what I find is kind of missing in these bike parks is where they just make them like so just kind of pay the highway this is cool it's always fun riding fresh Trail sick oh yeah Super Fresh super tight okay blow me that's fun though I like it nice I kind of forget that you're in a bike park that's awesome oh oh Call Me Maybe hello there's 11 kilometers of new trail out here and I want to see it all how'd you like that the trail stick yeah it was fun I really enjoyed that [Music] oh it's running so much better now my goggles are not getting all Caked Up oh they made it like an easy one there I didn't do it the best oh my goodness go go for that Gap here again on Longhorn right on oh they already constructed all that already wow that's cool der Merchant behind van can Nick Trails like A-line and dirt Merchant were running quite well despite the rain however the new Jump Trail on Creekside called insomnia is a different story so insomnia has been totally changed this year it was a blue Burmese flow Trail right now it's a single block A-line style jump Trail so let's try out insomnia the new work that they've done here should be pretty exciting let's see okay oh look at this sloth Fest oh no oh no what is this okay let's see if we can get some air oh that's a tall lip what the heck oh that is really interesting that is a tall lip Okay so I didn't realize it was that sloppy yeah I don't even know if it's worth riding this Trail like I know Pumpkin Moon were just back into insomnia let's try pumpkin moon since insomnia kind of sucked there tomorrow it should actually be really good I'm sure I think so this is cool this is another new Trail fresh double black lomer this stuff is pretty sweet let's see so far it's not double block just yet but okay oh that's deeper that's fun though oh okay super loamy I love it won't stay this way for long we're back on insomnia now I do remember this I do remember these berms it's exactly the way I remembered them last time oh man they're so tight so far it's exactly what it used to be on this lower section yo I do enjoy those berms though that's a sick bird I will be revisiting insomnia when it's drier out later on in the video and we'll be sending the jumps stay tuned for that but there's another new Trail up on garbanzo so let's quickly check that one out lemon peel brand new Trail for this year just some black diamond it's a single track kind of cool especially when it's fresh like this that's when it's really jump there double black saber-toothed horse haven't ridden this yeah couple years the rain has stopped so it won't be too crazy but you know what it's foggy and I uh yeah not the same visibility don't remember the trail let's see how it looks good let's see how this goes again right on okay what oh interesting okay come on yo oh bro dude that was cool and by the next day we've got sun and things are starting to dry out this Trail is going to be riding a lot better later today so I'm hoping by the end of the day I can get a Flawless run down it don't hit that tree where is my buddy Nick from the channel van can and uh so we're riding the new Creekside stuff can't wait to ride all this new stuff beautiful day trails are gonna ride so good today after the rain yesterday so let's hit it up oh this is sweet though some of these Trails still take a little bit longer to dry out spinar wasn't riding too differently from yesterday but the trail is a lot of fun and riding really well in these conditions got some real fresh loam some nice berms call me maybe he's very similar I definitely like the addition of these Trails as alternatives to The Wider smoother earth circus and insomnia foreign let's go buddy how's it going right on okay remember your name again dimitro right all right right Zach you got your super monster out dude 24 inch wheels yeah three inch yeah double wides you were looking at a 2003 marzoki super monster Fork the same one I've got on my Boost monster bike but dimitro put it on an older specialized demo with 24 inch wheels and old school hope brakes it's a pretty sick looking bike the seismic hubs I wanna can I just like ride around here I want to feel it with this one's like so oh I love the seat too it's awesome dimitro is from the Ukraine and in case you didn't know my Boost monster is directly inspired by the ukrainians monster bike builds they put a lot of Super Monsters and monster T's on some of their old bikes where's Norco yeah I know I didn't want to take it out today because well because it was so wet yesterday yeah but I like to take it out in good conditions but um dude is so sick yeah we should yeah we should try and do some more riding just going down the Creekside no problem so why don't we ride a couple trails with dimitro here so here's the funny thing I actually met him a week before because I bought this rare marzoki stem off of him and he had mentioned he was coming this weekend so this wasn't actually a surprise to me I don't know about you guys but I think we've got some potential collabs going on here what do you think Super Fun fresh sperms here on Creekside oh that's cool yeah I like this one I'm gonna have to say Palm corners and barking duck are some of my favorite blue Trails on Creekside I really love how it's built not too wide not too tight everything's closed really well that's sick if you guys want to do Blues just go for it right on yeah right on see you then so now that I'm going full 27.5 on this bike for the first time ever that's supposed to mean it'll carry its speed a little bit better it'll roll over all the tech a little bit easier so let's ride some familiar gnarly Tech and see if I can tell a difference try this super Gnar section whoa oh frick yeah that was freaking gnarly still trying to figure out the best lines for that Frick yo might have been the fastest I've ever done that wreck let's go this way we got some gnarly rocks huh otherwise yeah I think I actually was riding that better than ever got a nice quick entrance yo that was a little awkward whoa that was not my best run down that you went so far down that leg the step down first like yeah first but I was like the drop my back tire hit something oh is that why you like jumped to the side slowly and then my back tire hit like the Rock and then I slightly endowed but it wasn't too bad let's go down to with it being a much warmer day today I found my Fork was not feeling as good I had to take about 15 psi out of it just to make it feel almost as good as it felt yesterday it was closed yesterday the moon Booter I'm still not like feeling the greatest song we met up with Mahalo my dude and we did some party laps gonna follow Nick from band can it was extra fun on A-line because they had just done recent work on it so it was feeling really nice and smooth I kind of caught up with you guys you see what everybody calls you insanely fast yeah yeah thanks yo what's going on party laps with the boys foreign so good yeah yeah dude super good boys yeah dude you're tired what the heck yo Frick I buzzed my butt that was a little awkward so van can Hollow my dude and myself did an epic run from the top of garbanzo all the way down to Creekside I decided to put that up as its own video on my second Channel Jordan boost Master raw I recommend you check that out it was such a fun time man that's Jank what the heck I did that probably the best I ever done it yeah I'm pretty freaking stoked all right I'm feeling good on the bike these conditions are so good right now check out some new Trail this time we're gonna check out black diamond called Odessa more lonelier rootier huh let's go yeah so sketch that's awesome whoa it's in the wall ride nice yo dude oh I actually recognized this part oh frick bro the heck man I kind of like land on my like wrist it's just that like I feel a little bit lack of motion oh yeah well that wrist injury is gonna be the end of that weekend worth of riding and I haven't even hit the jumps on insomnia yet it was closed all day well I actually came back nine days later with some friends and we're finally gonna ride the jumps though I still don't have full mobility in my wrist that's okay chicken bake is also a new one just recently opened with a few simple jumps and this one will lead right into insomnia what's right insomnia now that it's all open and rideable pedal into it a bit here all right like the last two big ones I was casing it's fun like I like this head because you can actually see the landing nice [Applause] thank you let's do these jumps all right I think this first one don't really need to pedal for that whoa nice that was fun yeah Jordan that's how it's done my hip jump is really fun I love it so the jumps are tons of fun we're finding they're feeling a little slow we had to Pedal a bunch into them but that's all right they'll just get even better as time goes on as things dry out a bit more but it's really fun and I think it's pretty sweet to ride some new jumps here in Creekside I hope to see even more soon all right continuing down more insomnia here got some nice fresh berms otherwise from what I can tell it does seem to ride exactly the same as uh what it was before so there doesn't seem to be any fresh work on this area of Trail which is all right honestly I was really hoping there'd be more more jumps like what we just rode but I guess it was just for that upper section I mean these berms are super fun they're kind of making it sound as if there was like an entirely new rebuilt Trail but it was just like the first part there but anyways oh wow oh it's running really good I love that those berms are fun got a couple new jumps here it's kind of fun so now you've basically seen all the new
