all right here we have it oh here I'll be monitor there oh it's arrived now let's see what it's like this is right the handle is Moroccan um yeah so that's not promising the tip is cut and there's I don't know why that's being cut I mean UPS delivered this just after a big Ohio with the address I ordered this it was supposed to arrive on the 10th it is now the 13th so let's see if there's any ship and damage to this because that's not confidence inspiring at all let's just see right what we have here is the Alienware aw 3423dwf now I got the F variant because of the firmware updates and I don't need a g-sync module and this one's a thousand pound for all the g-sync is 1300 way 1189 sorry right so we've got a great degree response time of 0.1 millisecond I mean that is wow we have LDL which I'm assuming is law blue light W Quad HD 1440p with a resolution of 3440 by 4040 because it is a doctor one is 21.9 aspect ratio we have a thousand in this peak brightness right we do have HDR 1000 on this but after looking at the hardware unboxed I'm not sure if I'll be using that it does have 99.3 coverage of the DCI page three color space so I should be able to call a grid in it hopefully and it's quantum dot OLED QD OLED if you like it is a beast I will say that I had the aw34 21dw I was at the 18 DW the other Ultra wide they had which was 120 hertz IPS panel and I did like that monitor right let's see if everything's here as it should we have the documentation we have a common calibration average LDA of two which is quite yet and like yourselves I am sorry and I did watch reviews on this item before I purchased it because like you I'm a smart fella and the vs amount is a little bit different but I think it's going to be better for me because no more fiddling trying to get it onto the theater stands right what have we got in here we do have a little box of goodies what does this box contain documentation right just keep that in storage just Energy Efficiency rating right the stand I will set it up on the stand so we can get know the ergonomics of it is but it will be gone on the vs amount there we go I mean the stand is actually quite sleek and none of that ugly green chasing brand done it because obviously there's no g-sync module in this model so I will set that up I wanna we'll put that aside for now and we'll build the rest of the stand up we have the backplate color to hide your cables I've got to be honest I often forget to put this thing on and it just ends up lying around somewhere see what I like about this one it's a sleek I thought it was a black Design This is more gunmetal gray what yeah I will forget to put that on because I always do for now like everything else we'll put it down there we get a power cord UK variant because we are in the UK that's brilliant we get a USB Upstream cable so we can activate them but hold with I believe four USB ports we get the display port to USBC which might actually come in handy I don't have a USBC cable graphic card but it's there and we have a normal display port interestingly no HDMI cable which some of the reviews are seen to come with a HDMI cable but that's not a bother for me because I don't intend to be using HDMI on this because it would be limited to 100 Hertz we get a cleaning cloth for the screen found interestingly enough I cannot find the Vietnam kit right that's going to be a bit disappointing for me actually I think that's because on this model they have changed the stand now that that is sturdy that is heavy it looks like they changed it was thunderbasa on the standard DW version that's a lot slimmer and it needed a bracket which I was a bit worried there'd be concerned because I did not see the bracket but no it's come back to standard size sure that's interesting I did not know that and here we are let's this is what I've been dying to see she's beautiful isn't she right and with the stand all we do is let me get a good grip of that slide that in there like saw and tighten the thumb screw no tools required I'll like it like that I think that's just the standard from monitors nowadays isn't it it's just this thunder that's nice and tight that's what she said now the sun's connected together we just flip it until you hear that it's fine clip there we are we've got the click wow all right so this is just going to be a quick Unboxing Setup and initial Impressions I will do a full review a little bit later on when I've come to groups with some of it in there and any problems don't worry I will report you because it is super nice right what's these marks up here foreign marks on it It's like got three sneezies on it right let's see what we've got here and first of all let me put that over there right there we are right let me explain I am replacing well not replacing this is this is the complementary monitor to my I do currently have a Samsung Odyssey g728 the fourth year 144 variant and that is a good monitor I love that monitor but I just wanted something OLED unaware about all that burning what I do have the peace of mind with the three-year warranty for this thing so I'm not so bothered right let's up this refresh rate to 164. interestingly enough there's no 144 Hertz option there which is Disco because if I want that 10 bit corner I need 144 Hertz so I will have to look into that because this one is locked up eight big color should we I mean that screen is I'm intrigued let us have a game we've got to talk about the reflections because that to me is not all very reflected that glossy screen is lovely would I have a key light right here facing onto the screen I have the window open with their external lights down under the screen and guys I have to admit I have no problem yes if I focus on it I can see the window in the background wood could is really not hinder in my experience whatsoever and of course it's putting on the other screen so let me just look over to fix that update requires restart of course it does and of course it does but while we wait for that let's go through the menu the joystick is quite set back a bit this is the new menu system we have I'm not sure if I like it let's go into the actual menu picture presets we've got standard FPS move it RPG Sports Creator mode quite interesting because that is darker create the most quite interesting because you do get to use the srgb or the DC ip3 color space I'm not as interestingly so I may give that a go but that brightness has got to come up game one year too do you know what I think we'll just stick with standard and see what we'll get from them gaming hunts mods I mean you're not going to find a response time Ronnie because it's all Ed it's knee instantaneous create degrees so we have a time here frame rate so you can display that display alignment dark stabilizer which front purposes I don't think I'll be using console mode which why console aren't really designed for 21.9 so alien Vision not to see enlightened isn't it no no that's the new in the harmony of the album for your game I will not be using that and I've come out the menu brightness control let's just adjust this volume to continue yes I do that's why I clicked on it I want to check the brightness up to 100 percent input source FX lighting now we don't have the lighting on the back around the various mountain of the standout we now have the 34 lit up and the alien on the side a little bit disappointing because I did like that mind you're saying that in the old version I had the lighting was on the stand and I never used the stand so there's that but I will play around with that smart hdr on desktop sharpness 50 21.9 input color format RGB yes picture by picture and picture in picture that might come in handy yeah we'll go through the full menu system on the full review all right this I will preface this is this is the first time I've played this game in weeks yeah that reflection on the black screen I mean them in Black store I get one this year and I like ruined that the blacks do look a little gray I do see that but are we on 21.9 that I don't think we are aspect ratio 21.9 apply that and let's just have a little quick player ah we are on 21.9 I will not hate the iron as well Paula I do want to see that HDR and we'll make sure I'll be on an HDR true black 400. where was it HDR foreign that HDR does look really really good really good I'm liking what I'm saying I'm gonna be honest now let's see this motion because we're on a sense of purposes there is but she's zero overshot zero emotion tool let us see how right that is I'll just use that one the only badger clearly getting around about 140 frames 144 so if I can access 144 frames oh no way up there I mean this is we're under 30 80 TI wow there is that is so small that's disoriented if I'm honest but that is silk I got a gun I mean wow there is virtually ignore motion blur at all that is outstanding and that is my first impression viewing thing I have is get news to playing in 1440p again rather 4K because I do like that Chris Fork here but it's not a deal breaker for me ah yeah but that is I have to admit I'm really impressed now let's really check out that HDR performance shall we let's just exit this Ryan let's begin in that is astounding that really is good wow now I have to admit that is breathtaking that really is breathtaking you don't get in the same effect through the camera wow
