ALIEN: RESURRECTION (1997) MOVIE REACTION!! - First Time Watching!

what's up guys welcome back to the Raggedy pack we are hopping into yet another movie we're not supposed to watch Alien Resurrection the fourth installment in the alien franchise um you know even though people told us not to watch Alien 3 it still did pretty well on the channel like Alien 3 was pretty good yeah we got a lot of comments on there we gained a good chunk of subscribers I mean you know the the movie may not be the best but uh we still enjoyed it you know coming off of the Masterpiece that was aliens it's hard to hard to stack up to that but yeah I'm curious how we're going to like this movie like like are we going to hate this one is it going to like be the same story as three where you know we still think it's okay I'm a little worried oh okay I'm a little worried okay because just like researching like which addition to watch mhm the people were not very nice they said everywhere every single place that had a comment section or any sort of type of review board uh this movie was getting absolutely dragged through the streets so CLE cut by the way yeah seven extra minutes seven minutes 19 seconds extra to be exact mhm uh we'll see you know clear mind maybe it's the best one yet don't know I don't know about that one okay I'm I'm just go on a limb here it's not the best one well how be fair if it's not the best how do they mess it up it's like okay we if if everyone's saying it's a dumpster fire I can't wait to see how it's a dumpster fire and if I go in with that like precog like like expecting and I'm getting like it's just a it's just a mild a more mild fire then maybe I'll be more pleasant at the end I don't know right because with the previous movie I'm sorry for cutting you off I thought you go ahe go ahead go ahead um the a lot of or the problem that a lot of people had obviously they kind of killed off newon Hicks at the beginning of the movie but aside from that some of the uh writing like the egg or the eggs ending up on the ship it wasn't really shown in the uh in Aliens I mean in the credits and I may have misspoke in the uh intro for last video you hear a sound of an egg hatching during the credits you don't see the egg on the ship so that's my bad but um it doesn't it it's just not explained very well I'll say yeah yeah there also some big bits we missed like in in the was it called the assembly cut yeah assembly cut yes the assembly cut we watched there were some something there's some stuff established that I don't know like that would have been a lot more helpful the concept of a queen face hugger uh that looks different we the one we saw looked the same I don't know but yeah I think the big thing is like the fact that you wait six years and then boom uh Newt and Hicks are Hicks are dead that that's that's pretty tough like I cannot imagine waiting that long and just finding out that being the conclusion to a masterful film or the start after the conclusion to agree yeah yeah but there were some like Alien 3 Defenders like hey yeah I'm glad you guys watch this movie is actually pretty good so maybe there's some any any aliens Resurrection fans Defenders I hope to see you in the comments yeah maybe both hate and really like this movie yeah same because it's not good but it was fun to watch well it's like I don't hate it just CU it's not good like I think the movie odone is actually pretty pretty pretty good like they did so many cool shots they had so many cool shots this morning like this this movie movie and they took like the concept of xenomorph and did really interesting things with it that is true but the wor I hate it's the worst I hate it for like it's the worst film for me because it's and with the context of the character Ripley y because she's not allowed to be happy she's not allowed to have a family she's not even allowed to die they somehow took her body her DNA for mol like a molten lead that's what she fell into in the third movie right um I I think she may have been bleeding in the movie and left blood around the uh oh okay the area okay okay okay if that's regardless she she killed herself for the sake of humanity and she's not even allowed to die properly the like the scene with all the other seven of her clone attacks that was crazy yeah it's so that was so good though so it's so good it's so TW like I think like in terms of stuff that messes me up the most is like body horror stuff when they do weird things with the human body and that was that was just incredibly unsettling and also the hybrid xenomorph human xenomorph hybrid at the end yeah where like it had like the physical physical character characteristic of both like species is so insane to see I actually really like the movie for like for that aspect alone and like there's so like there are so many interesting things um but like just for the like they did Ripley so dirty um yeah and that's why like that's that's part of why I hate it right cuz she gets back some of her memories like she remembers there was a girl but she doesn't even remember her name new and she's just not really herself like she she has some inherited memories but she never gets them all back and she's still alive at the end of the movie her along with Cole and they're on a desolate Earth um and I think the next two movies in the series are prequels correct Prometheus definitely is I don't know about the other one yeah I don't know about Co Covenant and I don't know what uh the eventual Romulus is going to be about okay well I don't know if this story ever continues with this clone Ripley so that's kind of like uh this this might be the ending we have for the character yeah I feel like that's a weird place to end it off like I know Alien 3 still not really that good of a movie in most people's eyes but like ending it there with Ripley being the hero sacrificing herself to save everyone and get rid of the alien threat I thought that was ideal now I mean I guess you don't think this version of Ripley was the ideal no she she was weird yeah she was weird I mean it was cool to see her be like a like a superhero superhero yeah but basically Spider-Man I I thought her acting was great for like the character that she Wasing I can't get mad at her for that you know she was told to do that there's pretty good acting in this movie she like she was also the co-producer so I don't know how much she had like I don't know how much a co-producer does um but I feel like the acting was really good because you're playing like essentially a broken fragmented version of yourself like the previous character you played it's not the same Ripley it's a it's a version of Ry that partial memories but also has senses of a an instincts of a xenomorph uh so that it's it's all very interesting like interesting conceptually but just ah it's it's it's so twisted and that's what I like about it yeah it's I I can see that the fact that it's called Resurrection too like that they resurrected Ripley I they man they definitely took the alien DNA mutation as far as it would go in this movie compared to the other ones mhm the other ones have the quadrupedal one and the and the mother but this is like we we had yeah we had a we had a we had a queen with like a baby in the tummy yeah yeah that was insane mixed with a human reproductive who nutted it my God hey I I bet you was weird scientist who was like weirdude with Pon over it I bet Pony the way he was eyeing the like the the Xenomorphs in the cage he he was a freak you can't convince me otherwise I bet it was or it could just be like scientifically they're able to use uh Ripley's chromosomes somehow even though I know it takes um male and female but they just say BL it perfect with the aliens dude who sanctions this kind of stuff man the military cuz I mean apparently this this is no longer Wayland Wayland was a previous company they went under and now this is just all military stuff now dude that's insane they need Better Staffing because those scientists are I are crazy so like I don't know like the the people who got away I guess they're just normal lower level Soldiers the people at like the cusp of this the guy leading the base in all the scientists they they they away no he got shot no no the the the Le no well the scientists got taken Dragged In to be like in the in the the tummy are whatever the the nest and the main dude got got brained by the xenomorph popping out the chest that was probably dud an MVP that's definitely one of the most scenes you get the uh shot going down his throat what is that called like an endoscopy and then you see the chest burer inside and it pop out through his chest through the skull you get the collateral kill that is the most insane scene of the movie to me right next to the child Xeno Warf getting sucked through the hole oh okay that that was insane that's still insane like I that thing is an Abomination and it's not its fault disturbing for being it was it's not it's not his fault like at the end of the day it's a creature that was just born it's like it's you you could argue that it's innocent even though like it killed killed it it doesn't know um it doesn't know yeah it had like it had a like it had a sense of let's say Humanity the way it was reacting to Ridley it wanted rley like a mother's love right right um instead it got a mother's shove out the [ __ ] window that was probably the saddest I've been during the Alien series I don't know why I just felt some form of attachment to that creature I think it's the eyes man the puppy dog eyes yell out while it's getting pulled through the hole Yeah man that messed me up that was rough dang because people I mean I can relate to people generally if they die you know it's sad but it's not like that bad but when an animal dies and to me that thing seemed like just as much animal Asing yeah that's why it really affected me it did do a good job with the child alien that was like the the the like you said the emotions on its face making the fact that's all practical is nuts I'm I'm assuming they have an entire probably 10man 20 man team operating yeah it definitely looked good another note um because something I thought in the last movie was there was a lot of CGI but anytime apparently uh there were shots like that it was like a like a puppet and it was super imposed or what I'm trying to remember what the comments said uh composited onto like into the film which made it look weird so it was still practical in uh Alien 3 at least for most of it except for when the uh aliens head cracks at the end I I think in the director's cut it was either that or the theatrical version I think the fly in the beginning was CG what what was the point of the fly scene man supposed to introduce us to the guy the guy what was that bug actually it wasn't a fly was it was like a I've never seen it was a be like a beetle yeah yeah weird God I you know what you've kind of changed my mind on this movie a little a little yeah in what sense like how far they pushed the envelope with the aliens yes yes I I can appreciate for all the like again like that all the stuff they did was cool but like I like it goes it did Ripley so dirty probably the most dirty you could actually do someone in a movie like this it not even being allowed to die yeah it's a tragedy I'm assuming like the final rip my bad my bad you're good you can go yeah we go yeah I'm assuming like the the most the complete of the Clones like the one that was saying kill me was number seven probably that probably that that was probably the most sad I've I've been like in these films really sad too M up yeah I enjoyed watching this movie with you guys of course I enjoy watching everything with you guys it's always a blast we like poke fun and everything but out of all the alien movies so far this is my least favorite just because of like I guess yes the story yeah the story and the way it wraps up the characters um yeah I don't know feel like feel like my boy Christy died too early too I want to see him do some more trick shots dude honestly I thought like I had this thought partway through the film honestly like right before he died I thought he was going to be like a robot given how how how sick his trick shots were like he has to he had to be like do some like calculations yeah but I like I there there had to be another one I did not expect it to be uh call I was really expecting her to be someone related to to Ripley but she just yeah accessed forbidden information and found out about this this base where would you rank this film in the series I might I kind of like this better than three oh just because they they did so much more with the xenomorph concept um of like of course like they already F over Ripley so what's a second time you know it's a much darker Twisted version of the film it's I respect it for the fact that they pushed it so far pretty dark yeah uh but I just I just thought it was more interesting than three three was still very fun of course they still stand much further below the first two films the first two are so good I don't know maybe we do like a little tier list after we do finish like the Alien movies okay like good idea that could really we could get flamed but I'm not really worried about that I mean it's it's our opinions everyone has their opinions you know some people don't even watch these movies and I respect that but yeah this is our the last film like now we're jumping to 2012 with Prometheus that's going to be interesting and rley Scott is back I want to see the I want to see Prometheus so bad because I want to see if they if we get that ship in action in one and two we haven't seen that in a while and since Ridley Ridley Scott is directing I'm wondering if we're going to go back to that uh like horror element because I haven't been as scared as was since the first alien movie yeah I I agree I'm there with you yeah the rest have just been more action oriented yeah action with jump scares I mean this one was very disturbing and disgusting but I it didn't scare me as much you know mhm right all right is that
