Jar of Flies is my favorite Alice In Chains record. I remember I first heard it at a bar the night Kurt Cobain died on the house PA system. I hadn't really paid that much attention to them before, truth be told. I went out the next day and got this record and was hooked. Still blown away by it 25+ years later.
Love their unplugged stuff so much. It is just masterful artistry.
Not that their ele tric stuff is not amazing but the acoustic stuff really hits me hard.
I listen to some might heavy music but this is just perfect.
The way Layne just walks in, sits down, and IMMEDIATELY begins singing gets me every time

It's interesting looking back at how much I was depressed and insecure back then and related to this. Now as an adult and doing a lot better looking back I really just want to give him a hug. He didn't make it out but I did, and he was a part of helping me through that and I will always be grateful for him and his music.
