[Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] what's going on guys jackie and welcome back to another video where we are back with the st and as you can see we are finally getting back up with some performance parts installs which is something i've been wanting to do for so so long with this car now as you can see we've got the part in question on the bonnet here and this is going to be the airtec motorsport stage 2 induction kit like i said as today we are fitting the airtec motorsport stage 2 induction kit 4 mach 3 fox st so as you know everyone last video we talked about the uh finishing all the aesthetic upgrades on the car pretty much and i wanted to stack it in performance side of things and this is the first stage towards that obviously we've already started the first half of the uh air intake set up with the big mouth scoop and we're gonna be completing that today with the airtec stage two kit so this kit is from ceu uk it's one of it is in my opinion the most comprehensive and best made um induction kit for these cars that's on the market now obviously there's lots of benefits to have running induction kits now this kit says that you'll get between 5 and 15 horsepower again just by putting the kiss on now i'm not one of these people who's gonna lie and say that the car feels completely different and he's now an animal just because he's got an induction kit on because i know that's not the case however with this what we do get very importantly is some much better turbo flutter and as well as that we're actually gonna hopefully get a little bit more throttle response as well thanks to getting that much more air into the engine now to get the maximum gains out of the kit or any kit in general obviously you do need to run a remap tune so the ecu knows how to communicate with this uh higher airflow and let the engine management do its thing however this is a massive massive step in the right direction so before we get into the installing the kit we're gonna take the box back inside open it up see what we get inside and then we'll get on with the install right then so we're inside let's have a look at what we get inside the kit before we before we start so beyond the massive brown paper which you can see here i have actually already unboxed this to make sure everything's okay but beyond that this is what we get in the kit so firstly we have a satin black finished crossover pipe which from the turbo to the air box now this is again a really really nicely finished piece we've got our maf sensor plug there now there is an adapter plate on this for running face lifted cars obviously mine's a facelift so i need this on a uh on a pre facelift car so 2012 to 2014 you don't need this i'm not sure what fx send out for that but pretty much that's what we've got for this one obviously airtek logo embossed on the top there and then attack welded on really really really nice finish on this high quality bit of kit we then also have instruction guide which is very very handy a set of pro hoses so we get an elbow and a coupling which comes off the filter now i opted to get mine in gloss black just to finish with a really really clean look however there's a massive array of colors no matter what you know no matter how crazy you want to go subtle subtle like blacks grays and whites all the way up to you know larry oranges greens reds yellows whatever you want as well as that we've got some fittings so we've got a full fitting clip with brackets washers clips and a set of hose clips heat shield guard to replace the standard air box as you can see you've got a really nice airtight motorsport gel badge on there as well and finished in the same satin black as the crossover pipe and finally we have the filter itself so this is the 70 millimeter group air cone filter from airtight motorsport this is airtek's on filter as you can see it says airtight motorsport on the end now that is the option when buying this kit to get it with a k n filter which costs an extra 30 pounds now i option for the k n however see that ce uk where i bought them from said that airtech weren't actually able to get the k n filters in for at least another month so i got a quick refund and got the airtec filter with it and to be quite honest with you it looks identical now don't quote me on that because i don't know i haven't seen the k n filter in person however this doesn't look like it'll go far wrong at all because of course the boys at airtec still really really know what they're doing so all in all that's everything that we've got it's a really really comprehensive kit easily the best on the market i'd have said or one of the best definitely up there so without further ado let's get outside and get this whacked on the car all right so it's actually the next day now and obviously we kind of half got into it yesterday but we weren't really able to finish the install and stuff came up and we had to call ourselves short from where we were filming yesterday so the weather's kind of took a bit of a turn for the worst but we are going to a new location where we are going to be indoors and hopefully able to completely install nice and dry and without any mishaps okay so cracking right on where we left off yesterday as you can see draws we're starting to remove the air box and the stock air filter from the car remove the uh strap which leads to a reduction hose and now we're just gonna remove the four seven mil bolts at the top of the air box meanwhile i'm gonna take the engine cover off put that in a safe place well on the floor at least and then i'm going to start bashing on removing the crossover pipe leading onto the turbo so i'm going to remove the maf sensor before we do anything else just unplugs that and we'll swap that into the stock into the new pipe once we get it on and then after that we will give you a bit of update once we've got this off with the air filter out the air box can now be removed it just fits into rubber grommets now because of this fuel pipe going over over the top of here we have to makes it a little bit awkward to get the full thing out as one unit so just remove the hose clear holding off on this stock rubber elbow we're going to remove that pipe now once he's finished his fight with it there he is and then the stock air box should just pull right out just like that and whilst joseph is there remove the air box there as you can see and we will do a side by side of the stock air filter compared to air tech's unit as you can see the air tech one is absolutely huge in comparison and if i were just swap flips them over we can see on the inside as well we've got a much larger bore inside of the filter so we should get a much higher air flow rate so then that's the stock crossover pipe off as you can see now one thing that the instructions do not do not tell you um well the instructions are actually listed if we show you the instructions are very rs and sir fox rs slash st now this is one part of the key that i am not a fan of because if joseph very kindly crosses to the page it tells us to remove the there we go next one remove the stock crossover pipe um just up to here and on an rs the pipe the kit just starts here on and on the st due to the pipe the crossover pipe being an oval shape the crossover pipe actually goes right down to the terminal so joseph's just going to get a touchdown so we see that a little bit better but pretty much we now need to remove there we go jubilee right down there there it is just there remove that jubilee clip on the turbo and that we can then remove this part of the crossover pipe and that will allow us to fit our new airtake unit so this is actually quite an awkward place to get to with uh by hand however with a bit of assistance we can actually just and so get there one thing that helps massively are these mac tools bit drivers they are absolutely brilliant bitter kit and really really good for low profile work such as what we're doing so a quick progress update before we crack on joseph has just fitted the new air box well a heat shield as you can see fits in this way on so all of this is exposed and is shielding the the engine as you can see the air tech gel badge sits to the front jaws if you just like to do a quick talk of how you manage to get that defeat i'll come around this side so what what are you going to do when you put it on you take the top of the battery off because that piece can't catch on it so what you do is you send that side you put it right back there and then you lift that little wire up there and you shunt it straight forward it wraps goes underneath the um intake and around that bracket there and i like this as well because i didn't realize before but this is actually a direct feed right from the cold air scoop at the front along this channel into the filter which is a really really nice feature and then what you do is if you notice how on the back nice all right we can see it's so it's a sleet you need it's got a little sleeve so if you but if the ball joint which is there is too far along and you think it's not going to fit in all you do is get your 10 mil uh slacking the nut off and then joint actually slides right forward and then it pushes straight into the uh rubber yep so we have full adjustment of how we can fit this shield as well which allows us to you know set that ball joint exactly where it needs to be without putting any with exactly without any stress on any of the standard components which allows to you know stop the paint rubbing and it keeps everything fitting flush as well as that we've also got crossover piping it was a bit of a it's a bit of a tricky beach to be fair to fit onto that turbo pipe but we've got it using the straight pro horse's elbow going on to the bottom of the of the crossover pipe with the narrower end of the coupling going onto the turbo and the fatter end of the coupling going onto the pipe i will insert a little picture into this clip so you see what i'm saying so next up we've got the elbow pipe to go on which will go on the end which it also goes with the longer fatter end running onto the pipe and then the shorter end running through the filter and then we've also got our brackets to go on but once we've got all that on we will give a little update and show where we're at with hopefully we're not far off the finished product okay so we're here now we've finally finished well we've actually finished the install and we did run into quite a well a couple of little issues let's say and the key the instruction like i said earlier the instructions are possibly the worst part of this key as the box and this is not very cl the instructions are not very clear whatsoever it doesn't help that they actually demonstrate it on an rs which is clearly easier to fit this kit on however and the bracketry is not described in any detail of what goes where so you've kind of got to make it up as you go along so i'm just going to show you guys what we've got at the minute as you can see now that spacer there on the back is like a bronzy color and that's because we just literally have to make that ourselves on the lathe because uh we actually dropped one of them down the back of the engine so that's and we don't know where it's at so that's that's down probably on the right on the back of the engine cover or something on the back of there now so i'm not sure where that's at but anywhere we've got we've got a new one on there now um and then on this side as well this was a real pin to line up so we've got space on the back of there and that's just going right under there as well and it's everything's tight now and that's as best fitment as we can achieve with that we've also our turbo pipe if we can see it possibly just kind of just see the end of it there he's also tightened up now and as we move along we can also see that a extension to the math sensor wiring has also had to be made which is something that it doesn't your car might not need but i was certainly did i don't know possibly had something like this done to it in the past and it's been rewired or repaired but um anywhere our because if we look on the standard maf sensor it actually plugs right into the elbow in the air box which is obviously down here somewhere whereas when we put it in the kit it goes into the metal part of the pipe which is right up here so there wasn't actually enough length for the wire to pull from the harness up to the sensor so we've actually just put a extension section in there and then heat shrink well soldered it and heat shrinked over it and that fits up nice and nice and flush now i do need to get a little bit of a black conduit and electric tape to go over there but we don't actually have any where we're at at the moment so we'll solve that when we get home other than that though we've then got our big fat attack filter in and finally if joseph would like to do the honours and get that engine cover on we can finally call this install complete so then there we have it there there we have the final product the airtight motorsport stage two induction kit for the ford focus s teeth so as you can see it looks really really really looks the part in the end this actually looks really really good i'm very very glad i opted for the gloss black hoses and the filters are very nice fit in there as well as is the crossover pipe eventually once you manage to get the bracketry fitting and as well as that math center which we are going to tidy up in the very very near future probably once we finish filming this video but all in all that is the finished kit there obviously we did run into some issues along the way and i think it was important to document them because as far as i'm aware there aren't actually that many videos on actually more of a detailed install on this heat so i think it was important to do that so for other people in our situation know what they're doing so that's it for this video guys thank you for watching i'm going to insert a couple of sound clips from before and after fitting the intake now so you know exactly what we're getting yourself into and if you want we can do some sound clips of the vehicle moving later on there's a little bonus video as well but from me and joseph that is it for today so thanks everyone we'll see you next time bye [Music] [Music] you
