you enjoyed it as much as I did learned anything from it or even cracked a smile from this series I want you guys to have a piece of this and if you want to see the channel get cranked up to the next level as much as I do the best way to support the channel is through these karma speed merge drops coming up very soon I'm planning it regularly I'm working with the designer we have some rad stuff coming out so please follow me on Instagram to keep posted and enjoy this video thank you so much once you want to buy a callus downpipe do not do that gonna buy or you already have a Ford Focus ST and you want to modify it without sacrificing reliability you don't want to hurt the car and you definitely don't want to blow up the motor but you want to make sure that you know a hundred percent you're going to do the modifications in the right order so you don't do that and you've heard this you've heard that you don't know I got the answers for you all right here this is a Ford Focus ST modification guide for dummies first thing you should do choose a catback exhaust and now take this with precaution if you plan on just doing a catback and calling it good I would go on the louder side awwe track edition exhaust because the down pipe is very restrictive on this car or I would do you know the Touring or I know there's the Tomei option now single exit that's very rare people like but these cars are very restricted on the down pipe so there's not much volume so I would go a little loud but keep in mind there's options like the Roush Magnaflow that are all quieter I believe are the other options that are pretty quiet and that's may not be a bad thing because if you plan on doing a down pipe they do get pretty screamin loud when you put a catalyst or High Flow cat down pipe on these cars so take that for what it is choose your volume level wisely if you're younger like me I would just go full out and then get quieter later so you can enjoy the car to its fullest potential because these things rip when they're fully loud you've got your catback exhaust now next thing you want to do is get your air filter you can get a performance air filter from Canon or you can buy the Green brand air filter I'll have the green one link down below in the description if you want to find the KN one locally just go pick it up right now usually your local riley's or autozone will have it so you can check out the video on the playlist on the Focus ST I install the K&N one but honestly looking back the green one has the kind of like cone like cutout in the side of it I would get that one I've heard a little bit better turbo noises and stuff like that from that one so I will link in the description to check that out you're probably really itching to get even louder at this point so you want to buy a catalyst dump I do not do that by a cop access port I got mine on Facebook marketplace I think you can find them a lot of them on Facebook groups and then offer up so try and find one for 300 300 or 50 bucks and get the accessport in there start monitoring stuff and learning about it you want to do this before you buy down pipe so we can tune it later and be safe I'll get to that a bit so just follow me along here trust me on this you want to get that access port after that I highly recommend before you go full-out get a symposia leet now there's a tube from the intake manifold that goes into the cap and put some noise in the cap and with a loud exhaust it gets very jeroni inside the car and it's it's a headache I put this imposer back on if you guys remember in the previous videos on the playlist if you haven't seen that go check it out please there's so much information about this car that you need to know if this is your first or first couple of videos the whole playlist has everything you need to know about these cars but it does get very very loud when you have that stock some poser on with a lot exhaust if you want to delete that for sure it sounds much cleaner too next we're gonna do about three things very quickly we're gonna put our down pipe on and then you're going to do a step cold air spark plug and then you want to get eaten right around the same time so if you decide to put the callous down pipe on before the ECU's on this car are great and you shouldn't have any issues I just would not I highly advise you do not drive it wide open throttle anywhere until you have it tuned whether it's an e tune or a tuner locally that has a dyno just have them tune it with that down pipe just to be safe you're clear it's running rich enough you're not lene you don't want any of those things yeah the ECU can learn and make sure everything's ok and you can run it hard in the car won't start or do anything weird it'll drive great but there's little pieces here and there of the power curve that might run lean for a second then rich for a second then it's just it's not exactly perfect and if you want to keep your car running as long as you can don't take risks like this for the short-term gains it's not worth the fun just wait and get that eat hoon as soon as possible I highly recommend edge Autosport Alain there is amazing you'll purchase it if you go to edge Autosport comm you type in e to n-- for Focus ST e tuned you will see it for like to around 200 bucks Allen will send you an email after you purchase it everything you need to know on there with your access port what yet to do it's an awesome experience I made an awesome video on how you tuning works on this playlist as well please go check it out I cannot recommend that enough that each tuning video is awesome that really got me hyped Allen filmed on his own all the way from Colorado what it's like getting my files and then I sent him back and then ran them and said it was awesome you guys gotta go check it out now that we're eat soon we have a CP from an inner core that I cannot recommend enough I made a video where it went to a hundred and eighty degrees with the stock front mount on one pole now 180 degrees Fahrenheit air going into your engine is no bueno you're losing power you're losing timing you're risking detonation all those things not good heat is your enemy the heat soak in these cars is so so so bad so to fix that after you get e to new I highly recommend a CPE front-mount intercooler and that is gonna need an adjustment with Allen over edge arm support when you get it eat soon which that won't be too much of a big deal I think you guys charges a little fee but obviously if you could do the downpipe and the from an intercooler together at the same time and it have a tuned if you can afford that I highly recommend that but most of you guys are gonna stop the downpipe drive it for a while then get the CP from out later but now that I have the CPU from our intake temperature stay out of like it was like 80 something degrees and it dropped 2 degrees so like 81 from 82 to like 80 or something like that and then I stayed at 80 degrees the whole pull all the way to red line it's insane with that from an intrical will do and your car runs sharp quick you have more torque more horsepower all the way to the end of the power band because there's no heat building up an engine because the air going in is so cold so I cannot stress enough if you want power that is the ticket right there after your Calais downpipe you got your down pipe on you got your cap back on you got your some poser to lead on you got your intake filter on you've got your eat hoon everything's ready to go now it's time to get that power to the ground a little bit better you're going to get a rear motor mount now and I have one linked below that you guys will like that's very affordable this MARTA actually is very impressive you feel it right away in the pedal in the floorboard you feel a tiny bit of vibration not enough to make anyone notice except you who put it on and you'll be surprised at how much less wheel hop the car has and how much better it feels and you know this stock one is so rubbery that you can kind of feel it flex like this and the whole motor is doing that as well and transmission so you feel that when you're driving it when you put that rear motor mount on it's like boom you get on the gas just like snappy like right there it's so super great mod next one's a little spendy some case for coil overs to get your ride height dialed and then also your cornering and everything like that will be so much better the case sports are phenomenal i go over little bumps and it just makes no noise no thuds or anything like that from the stock suspension it feels great it looks freaking rad and it just sits a mean on the ground and then when I go around corners like corners you can take out like 30 regularly that you could take it like 45 50 and that car just digs into the pavement and it just rips I really like the coil overs they're super underrated most people like myself when I have my mom's to be three don't sack up enough to pay for them and I can tell you right now I regret it and I know you guys will too if you don't do it next one's pretty easy shifter cable bushings now the shifter on these cars have a cable it's not direct to the transmission so that cable has bushings on the end of it and those bushings are to make it feel like slot like really soft and just easy to drive from factory and that's great but if we want to feel more connected to our car and just enjoy it in a race car dish form like it was meant to be solid shifter bushings make your shifter feel much notch here and you'll really really like it and it's not too hard of an install this is the last performance mod that I recommend that I've used because the coal goal of this car was to get it ace fun as possible but be a reliable daily driver that I know I could drive to New York City from Arizona tomorrow if I had to and I left it there it makes 297 wheel horsepower on a 30 and it makes about 368 foot-pounds of torque I believe so this car friggin rips for what it is and the fact that I don't have to I've never seen up you know the fuel it get upset about fuel I've never seen it get upset about running lean it's brand perfect the car runs cold it's amazing last mod I recommend that I can't tell you I like enough but was the biggest pain of this entire process to install was a jvr short shifter the whole assembly I have a video on it it's very hard to film in there it was a big pain in the butt but I actually love that short shifter everyone who drives it enjoys it it's super smooth it's super naughty and to give this car that has a cable system to shift that nachi of a feel I'm super impressed with jbr so I have a link in the description to all this stuff including that one at this point if you haven't yet I would change your transmission fluid with some Motul dual clutch transmission fluid it takes about one point eight ish quarts so get two bottles I have that linked in description to well as well of course just get your transmission smoothed out you don't know when the last time it was changed if your car's over 50,000 miles you should probably do it and at that point you're on a 30 you got callus downpipe gear loud you are low you got the car looking good you can choose your wheels and tires I have the Toyo proxy all season all the name on the screen right now but I can't remember amazing tires make sure you get in rotated the 1550 to set it off the last piece of the puzzles the bluff out I put a turbo smart on here just because it's cheap easy to be fun I'll show you what it sounds like not my exact cup of tea I think the HKS sqv for I believe is what it's called now is the most iconic sound ever has I have it on my Subaru I love it to death but it is a very expensive piece on this car because you need a kit with like a one of the sides of the piping you need a pipe that has a flange on it for the bluff out so I'll link CPE skit down below they I think it's called the exhale kit with the HKS bla file I never got the chance to put on this car but man it would be freaking trick I think that is the best blow-off valve in my opinion but the turbosmart and boom boat stuff like that are super cheap easy go-to very easy to install so I highly recommend getting your feet wet with that kind of bluff out but if I had to tell you to buy something it would be that HKS kit for sure here's our chart fifteen hundred bucks at the top on the high end of our money side and this is time now your key the point the dots are the purchase points the smiley face is bliss so at the bottom we're starting very low first mod kind of expensive second mod pretty cheap little more expensive pretty cheap pretty cheap pretty cheap a little more expensive pretty pricey a little less hard on your wallet a little harder on your wallet a little less hard a little more hard a little less hard not too bad bliss that is what your mood in wallet are going to look like throughout this whole entire process I hope this gives you confidence with your Focus ST endeavors that's what the carbon speed brand and garage is all about is giving you confidence learning one specific sports car model at a time everything we need to know before buying it after getting in the garage DIY modifying it ourselves showing you step by step breaking it down so anyone can do because if I can do it you can do it so if you like what you see hit that subscribe button join the community check out the playlists on the screen right now for this awesome car I've had a blast yeah oh man what are you doing I'm gonna hit that hit the button let's go this cars freaking rad we got so many videos on it [Music]
