Ahrefs Tutorial Part 6 - Content Explorer

hey guys in this final video of my ahrefs tutorial i'm going to show you how to use the content explorer i love the content explorer i use it all the time for finding blog topics so let's dive right into it i'm just going to look for something very general i always start with a very general topic and let's take a look at what ahrefs has to show me for this very general topic so the the keyword seo is pulling 24 million web pages from its index so these are web pages that have seo either in the title in the content or in the url so these are all very relevant to seo and now what i'm going to do is i'm going to filter these down i'm going to find a few blogs that interest me and i'm going to consider writing my own blogs on the same topics so the first thing i always do is i filter out multiple web pages for the same domain so now i've taken it down to 3.4 million so it's all about narrowing it down until you find something that really interests you so in these top filters i'm going to select english i don't want to see any articles in other languages because that won't benefit me so now i'm down to 2.5 million so the next thing i want to do is i'm going to add a filter i'm going to look for anything over 1 000 traffic monthly that's a lot for this topic but let's just let's just break this down so i'm down to two thousand three hundred and sixty seven web pages uh i'm gonna add one more filter that i find is helpful is the domain rating filter so after adding the organic traffic filter i'm going to filter everything from 30 and down because the dr of my website is 32. so these are the web pages i can really hope to out rank anything below 30 and the things that really interest me are anything over a thousand and uh here is my list 452 so now i can start looking through this this is a a good list to start from and let's just take a look let's try to find something that looks good to us so here's an interesting one seowagon.com article rewriter free article rewriter tool so this is a dr11 site it gets 3500 visits per month it has 75 backlinks that's all good and well but let's see what keywords it's actually ranking for so you can see here um the traffic just dropped off so this looks like it might just have been some uh some sort of bot traffic so i don't think that these guys actually rank for anything i think that they just kind of auto-generated this through some paid spam so it doesn't look like very good results here so let's actually change the organic traffic and let's make it a little bit less restrictive so let's just do anything over 100 organic traffic per month so this is the kind of research you're going to do inside of the content explorer so take a look at these these different articles here here's an interesting one six simple ways to track and monitor your seo efforts this is from a dr28 site with 11 backlinks and 134 organic traffic the next thing you're going to do is click on the details look at this graph here always check to see if it dropped off because that is a bad sign that maybe this isn't a topic that that will rank for us they won't really work for us so this is another bad topic it seems like and it doesn't seem like they rank for anything so let's keep looking so here is one that looks fairly interesting free seo report generator analysis on a dr25 site so this one looks like it might be a good topic you can see the organic traffic has been fairly consistent it's dropped slightly but they're still getting a considerable amount of traffic per day from this article so let's look at the keywords they rank for so seo report generator that is ranking number two in india um since most of my clients are the united states and foreseeably most of my clients will be in the united states uh i'm more interested in in web pages that rank in the united states because i want to attract united states traffic so uh the the traffic from india doesn't interest me that much but the traffic from the united states does so this is in position three it gets 90 traffic per month which is very sizable for this topic and it's ranking for free seo report and we can actually verify that in our search engine and let me just change some of my search settings let's make sure it's pulling from the united states so they were ranking in the third place according to ahrefs free seoreport.com so here they are right here so one two three exactly right ahrefs is spot on with this one this is ranking in the third spot in the united states for this keyword and you can see here this is what google likes to see in their index a nice free tool that you can use so if you want to get 100 traffic per month you may want to emulate these guys exactly and you may also want to try to get 56 backlinks to it so that is how you kind of use the content explorer it's very helpful for this kind of research i hope you guys found something useful in this entire tutorial this is the last video that i'm going to do for this ahrefs tutorial there are more features that ahrefs offers if you click on this more tab here they have things like the seo toolbar which is very helpful this is just going to show you ahrefs results when you're searching for things in google when you visit a web page it's going to show you the this kind of information it's going to show you the organic traffic and the dr at the very top i'm not going to go over that because that's fairly self-explanatory you have to have an ahrefs subscription to activate their toolbar but it's very good if you want to do quick simple domain comparisons between you and a competitor you have this domain comparison tool you also have cool alerts if someone mentions your brand you can get a little alert but these are the features that ahrefs offers i'm not going to go over those they're fairly non-consequential compared to these great tools that ahrefs offers so if you guys got to benefit from this please like or subscribe or leave your
