hi everybody hello hold on i gotta mute something over here i think oh no siri don't do that see this is what the the hold up was we're actually starting a little bit late today and my apologies for that we're testing out this thing um which i have a new iphone you can probably hear the echo i have a new iphone and i'm trying desperately to figure out how to turn the volume down on it because we're going to it right right now it's kind of uh in portrait mode but i'll kind of show you a demonstration look uh hopefully it'll do a split screen here in a second there we go look technology now i just need to figure out how to turn the volume off on this um iphone can i try something yeah nigel's gonna try it out if any of you have an iphone and you know how to turn off the volume sound superior constructicons inferior thank you that's all i wanted to try i thought you were going to do something helpful helpful with technology are you serious you know just just for that i'm turning your camera on oh what and we're actually going to mike is muted and we're gonna let him pull down the show i'm not there you should be there why aren't you there i don't know there we go we did it finally split screen hi folks how are you doing we're never going to figure this out i am lear of the planet omicron percy i8 is this thing on i think i think the whole point of doing these live streams was to test all this stuff out when there aren't a whole lot of people on just to kind of like get it out of our systems but yeah oh my goodness this is like nothing but one big blooper at this point okay yeah this is great hey i'm on but it's still split screen you're on iphone take the iphone off try that see what that does hello i'm gonna work on turning the volume off okay anyway so yeah this is what we've been doing we've been getting uh stuff set up i've tried um yeah we got some new cables in to see if that will help with the uh freezing and stuttering and all that sort of thing it seems to be going well so far you know cross all available fingers and in case you're wondering yes my skin is still split and cracked and all that which is why i'm wearing the glove again um so anyway yeah there's uh we we tried laying some cable uh that that didn't turn out the way some people were anticipating i'm sure that sentence but yeah we've uh got in a new ethernet cable an adapter for the iphone and all kinds of stuff this cable can't really pick it up anymore this cable is about 100 feet long reaches all the way downstairs up over the balcony all the way across the upper floor and in here to get plugged into an iphone which is now being a pain in the ass again ah so yeah let's see i like hearing the techie stuff says barbara yeah well you're asking the wrong guy because i'm basically a caveman with modern elocution oh hey heather heather must have turned it off so i'm back full screen yeah you can see some of heather's makeup stuff and spare mirror yeah this is the wall of the glam studio you don't normally get to see hi maureen yeah yeah kathleen it does look good the the ethernet is doing wonders for the um not not just the stuttering but also the video quality it looks like so whoever suggested that hi cindy whoever suggested that that that was a marvelous idea thank you very much indeed marvelous uh let's see what we got here lots of people saying hi so hi to all those lovely people who i might have missed the first time around because of tech panic okay i think we're caught up i think we're caught up yeah so heather's just off doing something tech savvy in the next room trying to sort things out and uh other than that other than that not much else going on ah here she is got an idea heather has an idea i still can't figure okay hold on um just in case you were wondering where the heck i've been i'm trying to figure out how the hell will turn the sound off hi rebecca i'm the speaker on this new iphone i bought an iphone with a brand new camera so it would look really stiffy and hello everybody hello we're we're playing around with as many features as we possibly can today because we didn't want to play around with them much throughout the rest of this week and this whole week is a crash course for us to figure out what the heck we're doing so we can make these look snazzier we want them to be a little bit more fluid we're doing a terrible job of doing that at the moment but uh i'm gonna put some headphones it's going in our blooper reel yeah seriously i can't figure out how to turn down i i am a tech nerd they make these things so crazy this says liz says you can instruct siri regarding the volume i don't even know how to access three and i resent having to talk to it i i really resent that i don't want to do that hey snooping software yeah i like buttons i think this may be like just because i also use um a pixel and i also use an android phone i actually try to maintain my tech drops a little bit by having a lot of different tech in the hall in the house that i play with and uh there my pixel and my android phone are so much easier to use compared to either of my two iphones i have an iphone all right all right first off hello to everyone who has signed in and said hello sorry that you're coming thick and fast so i can't uh i can't type that fast so hello to everyone who's come in since i last said hello to everyone and kim's got a question hi i've been watching a lot of your youtube videos and i noticed you lost so much weight beautiful how did you do it that was question for you but i'll answer it for you my sweet okay what happened kim is that um heather heather's weight got to the point where it was really really really affecting her health she was pre-diabetic it was really uh hurting her pcos making it worse so she went and got a vertical sleeve gastrectomy surgery a vsg um and what in order to do that you need to go on a crash diet beforehand to lose some weight doctor prescribed okay you have to follow a strict medical diet then you go in and you get eighty percent of your stomach removed and uh once you're able to cope with feathers once you're able to cope with um swallowing things again they'll put you on a liquid diet and depending on how long it takes you to recover you could be on that liquid diet for a month anywhere up to what is it you're almost on it for almost a year before you were comfortable eating solid really solid foods again and um yeah so there you go and when when your stomach is reduced by 80 that limits how much food you take in so you feel fuller you don't eat as much and your weight drops off and the funny thing is yeah we need to pick a mic i think people are talking about echo and i think it's because both of us have mics on so should okay hold on i'm going to let him keep talking and i won't interrupt and then um i'm going to swap over with him so you guys can tell us whose mic sounds a little bit crisper for both of us really um right now it's just his mic um and and he's his is the only one that's on can you hear us both okay keep going okay so anyway um right so anyway the um i forgot where i was now you're talking about right so yeah so and the weight starts dropping off and when the weight starts dropping off then your hormones which are stored in all that fat start getting released and then it starts getting um yes and no echo says barbara excellent so muting your microphone help that all right i'm going to talk a little bit more and you guys can hear us both clearly i talk loudly to begin with so i tend to project it's that opera training so um if if his works great then we will just keep his on and then if the sound quality diminishes at any point um please make sure you just let us know because you could probably tell that we're responding to what you're saying in the comments both on facebook and on youtube so yeah if that if nigel's mic alone works we will keep that up we're just going to keep playing around with different stuff and i'm still going to try to make this stupid iphone work but now i realize that my great work around is not going to work because it just froze no there's no microphone port on this stupid iphone uh like i think they went out of their way to make this too hip to be functional it's it's painful it's like uh oh what's that there's like an elvis costello lyric where he's like they're so teddy bear tender and tragically hip you know where the band tragically hip got their name they're tragically hip yeah great curlers too i saw them at woodstock 99. like here's here's a weird thing too like i did not really have a whole lot of fun there because this was before i realized that i really don't like crowds very much so it shouldn't be shocking that i i got lost very lost and this is a whole epic story and if you're ever interested i'd be happy to tell you about my woodstock 99 experience but um in hindsight i definitely see it a little differently than i did before i knew i was autistic because um i thought i was a weirdo because i didn't like being in the crowds and uh yeah i i would hang out on the periphery and because i was hanging out on the periphery i got to meet some bands and stuff but i did get to see the tragically hit they played first thing on the second day of woodstock on the east stage i believe and uh they were lovely and the vibe from their crowd was phenomenal just phenomenal the the the tragically hip people were just they had such a wonderful positive energy to them there were canadian flags flying everywhere everyone was just so incredibly excited that you were like an honorary canadian for for their whole set it was just a beautiful thing i didn't even know who they were i did know the elvis costello song though um which is town crier and so i knew where they got their name from because i was familiar with with the elves costello song but um yeah it was just they were just really lovely lovely i it's such a positive memory during what was otherwise a pretty terrifying trip um yeah so to finish answering your question kim that's okay so to finish answering your question kim uh heather's got a whole series of videos on how she went about getting her vertical sleeve gastrectomy and how she progressed through it and how she lost her weight so if you look up my vsg journey um my vsg journey on cysterwigs you'll find the whole video series okay all right let's see here um we're over here right yes barbara we're on stream yard again today and we're echoing again yeah i'm sorry i'm trying to figure this out still hey siri i don't even know how to turn siri on turn off the audio turn volume down please turn volume down siri turn off microphone well the microphone's off huh okay let's see if that works megan says i've been watching some of your color spotlights from a few years ago and i love seeing how your videos have changed as much as i missed the mariachi intro music your videos are now such fun and there's a follow-up there's a follow-up where'd it go buggeration serena wait mariachi music what i want to hear mariachi it was fun it was it was actually free youtube music um no like my computer is now helpfully trying to get me to install updates due tomorrow oh yeah hi we want to interrupt the the important thing you're doing right now would you like to update right now and shut down everything no three minutes later okay how about now no gosh darn it i know my mic is muted can you hear me there's still an echo coming out of this thing i don't think i'm going to be able to figure this out you can see that i've got the camera on and everything and i'm like playing with all these settings to try to get it to kathy says hahahahaha my siri is in here answering you heather sorry sorry about that like here's the thing look the sound is all the way down so it's super frustrating that i get into why is this phone so poorly designed nikki you keep in you keep initiating my siri i'm so sorry i'm gonna i'm gonna stop i'm not gonna give up though at some point i would very much like to uh try this experiment out um because i think it would be really cool to be able to show you a side view once in a while um and i like that we're incorporating nigel's camera a little bit more so that way you guys can um see him and his reaction so obviously you know some days if his skin's really acting up because he's got um eczema and rheumatoid arthritis if the skin's really acting up he probably won't want to be on camera no no and if if if my i do pixel doesn't start kicking in when i take it on saturday then might have to do this for future but we'll see how it goes doing all right today i think and you're being a very good sport about it and he was very helpful in trying to get that set up um he figured out how to get it hooked up we actually bought a widget a dongle just so we can hook it up to the ethernet because that should help with the stream quality and make it like full hd all the way around oh hi alexa what is the circumference of the earth alexa alexa play cantina band one from the star wars soundtrack it's not mariachi but it's it's it's it's jazzy and fun and party-ish yeah so all right well good stuff good to know that we're getting some of these kinks worked out i reviewed some of the uh epic marathon live stream from yesterday and it was very nice to see that the stuttering for all of the video content had finally stopped significantly that made me very happy because what's the point of being so meticulous about your makeup if people can't actually see any of the definition of what you're actually trying to cover up um so thank you for bearing with us while we tried to figure that out and make the third camera happen but today was just not going to be that day um so yeah we are back on stream yard as you can see we're hard at work and i'm gonna go ahead and put the camera back on me a little bit that's fine it's your show no you didn't hi it's the nigel show there's me hello paula you've done it again hold on figuring it out there are we good now shuts off bixby on her samsung phone just before heather hi jackson bixby no stop trolling all of these people's phones oh i like bill bit i just it just reminded me of bill bixby i like bill bixby leora allen says no volume oh dear all right how about now right you should have volume there all right yeah we we've switched it to just my camera for a little bit the host just muted my mind okay good so i muted his mic and we're back on mine so um aaron is asking when did i feel comfortable outing myself as a wig wearer it took a very long time very very very long time um like i first started losing my hair when i was a teenager so i was in some pretty significant denial that i was even losing my hair even though it was pretty obvious and it was even one of the first things nigel observed when he met me when i was 19. um it just it all started to fall out and um now i know here's your eyes and your smile first thank you but the shiny scalp was probably a close third because he's taller than me you know yeah but it was dark in that projection both all right well maybe i'm being a little bit uh you see what i mean it took a while but it took longer i'm touchy about it you know even even now so don't feel bad if you feel that way too i think that's normal um because it is one of those things it's like a bummer and it takes a while to kind of wrap your head around and um i think really i started playing around with costume wigs right away um i went to this place called mr funs which is in kent and i bought my very first wig which is actually on the shelf back there in the middle like the second shelf like underneath the hi there wiggler they're look oh hi there wig lover sign um behind me i bought that when i was 19. so that's from 1999 and it's purple and black because i love purple and i love dark colors and uh yeah i would wear that frequently especially when i would go out to night clubs and stuff because i was young um but i mean i didn't start wearing them as my everyday hair until basically i had gone from just putting them on for selfies like costume wigs for selfies which is the first iteration of this and then putting those selfies on like places like myspace and um facebook and instagram and then people would have such a positive reaction to those selfies that after a few years of that i started wearing toppers and um i really enjoyed the toppers but i i found that you know my experience with wigs earlier on was just much easier so and less painful to my scalp so i eventually went back to wigs i just started buying higher quality ones so i would say that entire evolution probably took from like my first wig in 1999 until my first like medical wig which was um 2010 and then perhaps maybe maybe a good six months after that i was pretty upfront with people right away about the fact that i was wearing wigs because i mean i had such thin hair by the time that i started wearing them that it was pretty it was pretty obvious um and i'm sorry if i'm rambling but there was kind of like a transition period between toppers and wigs where i was just really frustrated because um you get to a point when you're when your hair is really really thin on top where most toppers are not going to adhere to the hair with clips without really yanking your hair out um you need to have kind of thick hair where the clips are seriously and to me that was a very clear signal because i felt like it was actually making my alopecia worse a little bit to have those clips in there so i actually shaved all my hair off in fact i had my boyfriend at the time who was not nigel um shave my head for me because i want to make sure that he was okay with it because he was gonna have to look at it too and um i i actually went around with a bald head just a bald head for like i don't know a semester and a half before i started going back to wigs um so you know that that allowed my scalp an opportunity to just kind of heal and breathe and it and it gave me a glimpse into how people behave when they encounter somebody that's like as assertive as i am um who doesn't have any hair and i realize people make very quick snap judgments about that because of my physique and at the time i was about 100 pounds heavier and um you know people just assumed that i was like doing it for political reasons or something like that when in fact it was like i have alopecia it's not really a political statement i just i don't really get much of a say in the matter uh you know and if i even let it grow out a little bit it's like i've got the full on dr phil effect going on except i've got a hairline thank goodness but uh you know what i mean like it's been a it's been a process so if it's taking you a while i just want to say to everybody out there in that boat don't don't worry about it you're gonna you're gonna get through it in your own time just make sure that you know you embrace the notion that if something is a little bit scary to you it might be healthy because it's gonna help you get past this stuff faster allows you to grow and evolve that's right and i i also stand by the notion i know it's a little tough lovey it's a little edgy sounding but i think that there's a hefty amount of in for me at least there was a hefty amount of getting over myself like i had i had to stop taking myself so seriously because i i remembered distinctly the first time i wore a medical wig or a wig as my hair and like tried to pass it off as my hair and this was um gut wrenching it was so i remember that night crystal clear like like it could have happened yesterday i was basically like we went to a mongolian barbecue in cleveland and we were hanging out there and i had this this really pretty brown wig on it was some kind of noriko thingy um or it might have been my jamison at that time because my first wig was a jamison by estetica my first medical wig so it might have been that one actually but the part i remember distinctly is we couldn't be seated right away and um so we had to wait near the front of the building where the windows were and i remember being so incredibly uncomfortable because i felt like i was being observed on all sides and that and then everyone was going to know that i was wearing a wig and that it wasn't my hair like i just was convinced of it and i know that a lot of people go through similar experiences but i just remember being so paranoid and then finally i realized nobody noticed nobody noticed if anything they were probably just noticing that i looked freaked out and they were probably wondering why i look so freaked out and then that was the part of the process of me getting over myself because i realized that i was causing more problems for myself by just you know trying to give it away too much and then i realized that's exhausting because i'm already masking all the time and now i'm like extra masking because i've got like this secret and i want to blurt it out basically oh god it's so i eventually started just telling people because i got sick of hiding it kathleen says i started wearing wigs at 57 told everyone from the word go never cared what people thought my reasoning is it looks so much better than my own hair that's amazing i love that this says same here and where is it barbara says i started out wanting people to think my wigs were my hair slowly started to branch out enjoying having any darn hair i ever wanted i could never have before that's right diane says i used to go to that mongolian barbecue it's great the place is great it's called bds and it's so nice particularly if you're a vegetarian which i was at the time they have tons of vegetarian options and they'll even clean a part of the grill specifically for you and use clean uten it was lovely great accommodating place lance has just started losing mine after the gastric sleeve and even more so after having my miracle baby obviously congratulations yes indeed found a great community of people going through the same thing though so thanks for that yeah you're welcome and thank you for sharing that and congratulations really that's fantastic shoot says serena it's been more of a challenge dealing with being trans being open about wearing wigs was a dream i can imagine i can absolutely imagine oh my yes so uh today we're going to be talking about like beauty standards in general kind of the theme we're going to be talking about uh makeup which i will be applying i'm also going to talk a little bit about my skincare first because uh i'm going to be doing a no makeup makeup look today um which is going to be a nice break from all of the like heavy heavy full beat looks i've been doing particularly the three hour marathon that happened yesterday this is a breeze by comparison i'm knocking stuff over this is what i do so um did i bring it up i thought i brought a little basket of yes i did skincare stuff there you go yeah okay so i brought a bunch of skincare stuff out because okay here are a few things that i've learned about no makeup makeup looks and if you guys have any recommendations at all for any skincare stuff please throw it out there so we can all check it out um both um now and during the replay so i use a ton and this is just the stuff i use kind of regularly i use a ton of skin care products like a lot um and it's because of something i touched on yesterday and the day before i have a hormone issue so i'm on like a medication that helps kind of like keep my testosterone levels low and it prevents um my skin from breaking out but you can still see that it still does it and i try not to fuss with it too much right i i don't but i mean they still get red they still get irritated this one's finally going down thank you retinol but this one here is still loud and proud and up here is a new development so i'm just very acne prone um and i also get very dry skin because i'm on this spironolactone which just dries my eyes my skin all that stuff out so i have very severe combination skin so i have to be really careful and kind of listen to how my skin is behaving and what what places on my face and i and i don't use the same skin routine all over because my skin is so radically different in my tea zone than it is on the periphery of it so um usually uh when i wash my face if i'm not wearing a ton of makeup i just use this and i've talked about this before it's origins checks and balances i think it's really gentle i like it um it won't be sufficient if i have a ton of makeup on though um so i have an entirely different routine for makeup removal um i also maybe like once a month or so we'll use the st ives gentle smoothing scrub and mask i never use it as a mask though because that'll dry out the dry areas of my skin but sometimes if i need a little extra exfoliation so basically i use a lot of retinol products or products i have a little bit of retinol in them um squalane i use quite a bit in the dry portions i like hyaluronic acid um gel creams a lot because they are something that i can put all over my skin and it's not too oily um like here's something i don't recommend if you're in the same boat i'm in and that's this it's really expensive which is one reason why i don't recommend it but it's also really really bad for the kind of combination skin that i've got it makes my face break out like crazy um and just this little thing this is why you shouldn't you shouldn't buy into the hype about some of these products this little thing and i found this out kind of like after i already kind of fell for it and bought this sample this this little trial size which is 0.5 ounces was 99 and yeah i'm pretty salty that i that i fell for that i did try it you know you can see i almost panned it i tried it for like a week and a half it made my face break out like crazy and it made it feel very greasy and so i did a little deep dive into what what the ingredients are it's like the third ingredient is like mineral oil so no wonder it made my face break out like all over the place so i do not recommend lemaire i put that in there just to show you that i try a lot of stuff um but yeah people comment on how nice my skin is which is a i mean considering all this i will take that as as a point of pride because it takes a lot of effort um my normal skin care routine basically consists of that skin checks and balances stuff using a little bit of this fresh rose deep hydration facial toner um i that's not really the order i do this and i should really backtrack this is so complicated i can't even explain it like this is this is how bad this has gotten all right so basically the first thing i do is i wash my face then i put on the toner then i will put on this intensive wrinkle repair retinol serum with licorice and kelp from paula's choice it's fantastic it has plant-based squalane on it if i feel like i don't have enough hydration i will put another toner on under before i put this stuff on and this is the complement to this it's the fresh rose deep hydration oil infused serum so i'll wait till this kind of sinks in and maybe put some of this on and this also has a little bit of squalane in it i also like this as a plant-based squalling this is um biosancti uh squall lane plus vitamin c and rose oil this is great it's a plant-based squalane um so i really like this a lot i tried the ones by the ordinary and even the ones with retinol in them and their squalane must be animal derived because it makes my face break out which retinol products really shouldn't do that so i have to imagine it's it's the squalene but i have not had that issue with this stuff and the vitamin c makes it a really nice brightening complement to the retinol like i alternate days so that way you know because you don't want to like necessarily stack a lot of these products on each other like in the same treatment because they can actually like give you a reaction so yeah it's a lot i i need i need an intervention and then during the day time i put this stuff on the ultra sheer dry touch um spf 55 so yeah i put a lot of work into my skin [Music] a lot um and then once in a while i also recommend this stuff it's a two percent bha liquid exfoliant with salicylic acid i use that in the areas that are acne prone every once in a while um but yeah because i use a lot of retinol products i also have to wear the sunscreen a lot of you are probably familiar with that that routine but oy yeah it's it's something where uh if if you have problematic skin it could just be an issue of frankly you're trying to use the same skincare products on every part of your face and they may not need all that you know so you got to be kind of strategic in what you use and wear which sometimes means you will use a lot of products but you'll also be using a lot less of them every time you use them so rich leora says i have dry scaly and oily around my nose but i have rosacea so i'm limited at what i can use same thing with anybody with like sensitive skin you have to be really careful with some of these products like retinol products you have to build up a tolerance too um even if you don't have sensitive skin if you just go all in with hardcore retinol products your skin will be flaky and scaly and it will make you look super old like uh it it's anybody who's tried to use something around their eyes with retinol in it that had um too much and it can probably testify that it goes through kind of like an ugly stage before it actually starts to do its magic and that can be a terrifying couple weeks until your skin adjusts for sure cheryl says so do you put the spf on top of your pants underneath it underneath it i put it on underneath it so yeah it's like in the morning i wash my face and do all that crazy stuff and then i wait till that basically dries and then usually the sunscreen and then i wait about 15 minutes and then i go out the door and then if i want to wear makeup i tend to be very careful about the kinds of makeup that i put on top of it um like i found that it it works out best honestly if you just get makeup that's got some kind of sunscreen in it because then it's a little bit of an easier application like the nars um uh tinted moisturizer that i've been using on a regular basis here and we'll probably be using today um it's got spf 30 in it but if you need something that's a little higher test like i do once in a while i usually i skip my makeup when i'm wearing that because i'm usually wearing it when i'm exercising so that's just going to be a mess anyway this is a good tip from liz i have rosacea and only use alba botanica cream or water nothing else on my face wow yeah i know that you know what sometimes water is the best and serena says it's good to have a foundation with spf if that's an option yeah it definitely streamlines things all righty i'm trying to figure out what i did with the um tinted moisturizer that i had yeah see we were messing around with all that tech stuff the whole time yeah and that really messed up our prep time for all this other stuff i did get my sponge wet good that that sounded like it should have been naughty or something i'm going to add you back to the stream honey right okay and take my self off of it for a second there we go so i can look around for this moisturizer uh barbara says my face seems to tolerate anything except for the skin on myself what the heck is up with that oh barbara i can sympathize because i've had i've had eczema you know almost since there was born on and off for yeah decades now and every year i seem to get allergic to something else so far i'm not allergic to myself yet but i think it's only a matter of time to be perfectly honest ah let's see what else we got oh here we go yeah i'm still not seeing it no no i i hit it very well very very well but that's okay i've got other stuff we can we'll get there yeah okay charles says i need spf 50 for medications and i need medium coverage for age spots and i've i've heard there are some people who uh unfortunately get um was it uh they get allergic to sunlight itself like they lie like they don't just burn or tan they actually break out in horrible rashes and have asthma attacks and so forth that's terrible ah barbara says i mean the skin on my nose i think the vodka is kicking in what happened are you having a cocktail of some sort please share the recipe that's fantastic yes it's it's friday like part one like friday eve i'm not going to sing the song okay i'm turning my camera back on i think it safely turned me off again okay i think i'm going to start putting makeup on i think actually if you just hit stop cam that might be the easiest way we're figuring out the system no no there we go yeah all right and then just uh turn your cam back on then we can go back into switchy switchy mode i'm gonna put a little bit of primer on again we're going for kind of like a very super minimalistic dewy um no makeup makeup look that's part of the reason why i wanted to see if i could get that iphone hooked up because the camera on there is really really good and i don't know if if um any of you have ever tried live streaming on social media but there are a lot of limitations to what kind of um video quality you can get on these things and it's it's um it's actually pretty shocking because when you're recording stuff like a standalone video or something um on youtube you can make it 4k i think 6k i don't know like so many k's you can but i mean you you can make it a very very high quality video and it's like in streaming they just they limit it the default the default setting is 480. can you imagine how how grainy that would look that would be 2013 all over again which i really just relived basically um by virtue of the cysterwigs classics channel where all the older videos are airing i'm like man that video quality you know i do i do miss some aspects of like young youtube but i don't i don't miss that leanne says i'm curious to see which streaming software you end up going with my husband does them weekly and they were using what you had before yeah we're using stream yard right now um i i've been i keep and i will probably keep trying to play with restream um i don't necessarily want to jump right into the obs route because we i don't i mean i might set up a static workstation for this once we figure out what we need there's 12k now how many k's do we need like i think i would get motion sickness because i kind of feel half queasy watching a 4k video if if it's like a david attenborough thing in the jungle or something and there's a lot of like uh drone footage that that oh serena says there's 12 now i know and she also says sister way's classic it's like watching old disney tv shows except with the casual animal murderer what oh did you hear about that what okay when disney made nature films you know that whole thing about lemmings jumping off cliffs yeah well lemmings don't actually jump off cliffs oh i have heard about this so what they did was they they got a bunch of lemmings and the the cameraman filmed the producer at bodily throwing the lemmings over a cliff oh that's that's so oh i bet they're cute too they're adorable but the but um they're a bit uh i like cute things too yeah but they've got short man syndrome especially the males that they're like you're looking at me and they'll try and take a chunk out of you with their enormous incisors oh goodness um just in case you're wondering what i just put on this was a smashbox photo finish hydrating under eye primer it's it's got a little bit of a brightening thing too you can kind of see that it's shiny and i went back to my staple the tatcha the liquid silk canvas i love this stuff ah i mean i did use the porefessional um which was a benefit product for a really long time but i felt like if i if i did not completely buff the crap out of it it would make some of my makeup pill which was not the best but i have not had that problem yet with this tatcha one so that's why i'm sticking with it if it if it ain't broke why fix it plus i'm not done with it so i i i need to cut down on the uh the epic epic makeup spence i say that and then this week i bought i got all this stuff so i'm actually kind of looking forward to doing more of these live streams maybe like on a once a week basis just because i have so much stuff i want to play with with you guys like i have this theory palette which is a really pretty cool tone kind of blushy set um three shade professional highlighter blush and bronzer palette i mean they they had a 40 off sale and i've been kind of pining for some of this stuff for a while this is um the petty lila's but it's like oyster browns and dark mauves delicious i hope that it goes on well yeah i had to get a replacement for my koi palette because i love this palette very very very very very much and um one day i was frantically putting my makeup on in the bathroom next door and i knocked over a whole stack of these and everything was fine all of the powders stayed in the pans it was great except for the palette that i loved the most my my my koi palette got got just completely destroyed so i had to buy a backup because i love it and so yeah i also got the paris nudes these are all shimmers but i think they're going to be really pretty and soft and then my pride and joy the grand pro i have i have that one i i have that one you should get it just know that there's um of the mandalorian palette there that the child palette the colors are fantastic if you've got um any kind of olive undertone in your skin it will look dynamite because the the colors all have that kind of like avocado uh all of the undertone to them they're very cool but yeah that that one color the force mine's already kind of broken up in my palette so um if it comes if it comes check it when you get it is what i'm saying because it might be broken already it's very soft but this is all mattes all creamy buttery delicious mattes so many transition shades so many crease colors i'm very excited to play with this it is amazing this with those two big natasha denona palettes i am set kathleen says and it's a game changer for me expensive but use so much less and way less concealer giorgio amani luminous 4.25 is a perfect match and doesn't look cakey on me can you write down the name of that that uh foundation of course i i will need a different shade obviously i'm like super pale all right give me a second i will copy and paste but yeah i would i would love to check that out cause i'm always interested in trying new foundations i think i'm completely freaking over the top you know just stocked up on eyeshadow palettes i need to stop i mean i i i know that that it's always like tedious to watch influencers go oh i have so much makeup but i mean i for me this is like a hobby still and um you know i'm not really making money from the makeup videos i just really love playing with these things it's it's entertaining to me um to pair them with the wigs and kind of like see what i can get away with and what i can't get away with and if you're cooped up in the house you know there are worse ways that you could spend your free time but um that palette screams which one arena the the big colossal one it's amazing and also kathleen says this picture quality looks great oh fantastic thank you for the feedback because we're we're going to keep trying to improve it but yeah this is this is like for most people this would be plenty this would be it this would be the only thing you need ever because it's just so huge and it's got like every single color aside from the really bright ones um even though there's a really nice red i could i should have thought about using that one yesterday when i was trying to struggle to find a good red shade but we pulled it off if you didn't catch yesterday's gigantic live stream it was like three hours of me trying to perfect the mixtures of each individual color of a rainbow eyeliner effect it was fun i would not i would not recommend going out and buying all those products just to duplicate that though i would i would say try to try to figure figure out um the ones that will work for you because unless you already own all those pallets you basically be signing up to spend entirely too much more than i would be comfortable recommending anybody spend on makeup because i'm uncomfortable with the fact that i spent that much on it um but i think that's just because i'm like really thrifty on the inside um and so i'm still kind of getting getting used to trying to break away from that mindset a little bit all right where is it yeah i've used everything wise and i really like maybelline instant rewind budget friendly and dark circle friendly i might be interested in trying that too okay let me call you face that one thank you yeah i use a lot of higher end stuff but i'm not a snob i got like elf makeup i like maybelline a lot and i actually like um some revlon stuff still um yeah but i i actually uh of of all the drugstore brands maybelline's probably my favorite all right now that i'm thoroughly primed since i can't find my tinted moisturizer i'm just going to use this charlotte tilbury flawless filter i'll show you what it looks like all on its own because i think it would be worthwhile just to see how shiny it makes my skin and maybe i'll just do one side first it has this like doe foot applicator and i'm just using it today i'll still spread it around with a sponge and i'm wiping it off before i put it back in the bottle i try to be really clean with my makeup but i'm also really really clean with my sponges i wash them every night same thing with my brushes i clean them every night i mean when i use them serena says i still use maybelline great flash mascara and sometimes red long lipsticks [Music] the last two days i've been using the falties lash lift this is maybelline product so shout out to maybelline you know yeah so meanwhile facebook users said oh it's covering you up completely that's okay i'll just read it out yeah says i need any advice and help for sensitive combo acne prone skin i can get i've always had more sensitive and pale skin but wasn't all at all acne prone until i hit the early to mid 30s been struggling to find that magic combo of makeup and product that clearly acne even my skin tone won't over dry etc have you had your hormones looked into because i had to go on a pill just to get this good like and i'm still breaking out and i take it every day uh and i take very good care of my skin so i mean but the thing is they're they're little they're little they're not they're not what they were before which sounds like what you're struggling with which is the cystic stuff is brutal it's so brutal because it's so painful and it it's itchy and it's tight and it's just so uncomfortable and there's and you know these things are little so you can kind of forget that they're there but when you have cystic acne you can't forget it's there anytime you move your face or talk you can feel it it's just so uncomfortable sorry if that's a little bit too much information but it's it's pretty serious when it's bad and it's very uncomfortable and then it's like what the heck do you do with your skin you want that thing gone but you can't mess with it because if you mess with it then you know you might scar you might scar if you leave it alone yes it's anyone anyone watching on facebook because this is a facebook comment has any helpful suggestions please chime in for this facebook user who is only showing up as facebook users yeah it's probably in the private group because it'll it'll um make it an anonymous comment which is great um but yeah i i'm also if you guys are interested in me making a video that's a little bit more detailed about some of the stuff that i use and my experiences with them i'd be happy to do that too it's just i think trying to summarize it all quickly in a single video is impossible because i'm using so many products and in such strategic ways but what what i think pamela's autocorrect did something wrong she says hi neglect hi hi pamela that's so funny though ah oh yeah i was saying something and then completely forgot it okay that's okay sorry that was just too funny but um i'm trying to think oh yeah but um i think it'd be impossible for me to summarize my skin care routine in a succinct fashion i would basically have to talk about one product at a time because otherwise it's just it's it's overwhelming and even i get kind of flustered trying to figure out how to summarize it but um i think if i made it a single video per product it would probably be easier karen says charlotte tilbury is fair but she is quite pricey here in the uk anyway love her though you've got some charlotte tilbury stuff yeah i'm actually using that right now i was gonna use my nars um tinted moisturizer but i don't know where i put it hi michelle michelle is the facebook oh excellent i'm gonna i'm gonna take over for a second or two honey okay um because i wanna tell people what i'm doing again so the reason why i substituted this is because i can't find my tinted moisturizer the show must go on but i wanna show you that this can be used um in place of a foundation it is tinted you can see that it's tinted but it's like really sheer and they they do make um different colors i don't know if it's super inclusive but it's sheer enough that most people should be able to get away with it now i've only applied it on this side i'm actually applying it a little bit thicker because i'm using it as a foundation you can still see it's very sheer and it makes this side of my face really shiny i'm gonna actually lower these lights so you can see what i mean like my skin's already slightly shiny on its own because i exfoliate well um and i did exfoliate last night before i uh went to bed and put my i put my moisturizer on afterwards now you can also see that even though it's kind of it's making my skin a little bit shinier it's making it a little bit more even toned um it's not really covering up the spots and that's okay sorry if the lights are like in the shot but i want i want you to actually see how shiny everything is and what i'm trying to cover up so i'm actually going to do this to the other side it's probably going to be even more pronounced particularly with this blemish up here but we we are going to go in with concealer so it'll be all right but you can see this is not this is definitely not what i would consider even like a medium coverage foundation it's very very light more along the lines of a tinted moisturizer which is why i think it makes such a good substitution erin's got a good question my lace fronts always come across as shiny is there a makeup or concealer that lowers the shine of the lace front i think any kind of powder foundation with a matte finish would be great um like uh one that i use for stuff like that uh because i wear a lot of um fashion wigs that are sold on the bbs market and they have like really dark lace and you can trim it all the way up but you're still gonna have to blend in that hairline if you want to wear it off the face um so the stuff i tend to use is stuff like this which is really opaque and it is um the airbrush perfecting powder now it depends if if you want it to have be like if you have dark hair or you do like a darker contour or you have a darker skin tone obviously you'd want to use a darker powder but even if you want to you know contour it in as opposed to just cover it up you might want to consider getting a second color that's deeper than this and then using that to kind of like um you know contour it a little bit so that way it it looks like the blend is really seamless um but uh for me i just cover it up because usually i don't want to do a full face beat so i just use this which is it cosmetics your skin but better the um there's one that's like a better than foundation that one would also work anything that's really really like opaque full coverage and that you can apply with with a little brush so that way it's not um too too obvious and you can kind of blend it in around i mean it's one of those things where you just kind of have to experiment but i highly recommend the the powdered foundations so i am shiny i am so very very shiny there's a disney song that goes along with that yes indeed sung by jermaine clement oh germaine yeah he plays he plays the giant coconut crab he's fantastic he is just fantastic all right we gotta cover some stuff up now i've i briefly touched on um how i cover my zits but when you're doing like um a dewy look it's rough it is really hard to to cover up the zits and mattify um where you need it to be this light just turned off nigel can you help me honey um technical difficulties i think it got unplugged somehow i'm surprised yes it did because the whole thing fell off just a second uh i'm just going to stand here and pretend like i'm not looking at your booty which i am uh that's fine we're married that's right it's it's totally fine um it was like right there anyway all right let's try that i'm back the nightmare continues [Laughter] wait we gotta turn them on they're not they're not on we will get this figured out there we go hooray okay good good stuff we want that mixed light there so it's not too cold oh gosh sorry we got to go on that moana kick and it reminds me of the time i was forced to watch it turn your device back on so we can see you okay all right there you go uh no edit name i can't what are you doing just just press all comes up is edit name no click click the camera icon there is no camera icon look it says devices disconnected see look all it lets me do is edit the name oh hang on don't don't unmute okay okay cool now okay yeah there we go right so anyway talk about moana uh my friend chris has uh as a daughter who is very young and of course when i came when i went up to ohio to visit last time we had to watch moana because we had to watch moana there was no option and the funniest thing was at the bit where um maui is going to lock moana in a cave and she's pounding on the boulder and she says you son of a and it cuts away tiny little five-year-old or might even have been four-year-old ella shout uh chimes ingley [Music] and chris looked over at his wife and says i did not teach her that well all right sorry i'm back now see i did it i figured it out all right i pressed the thingy and then if i do that you're back again you're staying hydrated i'm picking my nose please don't don't do that i'm just trying saying that for laughs okay so you're laughing it worked but it's really not that hard to get me to laugh particularly when i'm this caffeinated anyway um so uh i'm gonna use this laura mercier concealer that i used the other day this is the secret camouflage in sc1 and i'm using this little brush i mentioned the other day this again is the it cosmetics small shadow brush number 220 i really like the way this one is shaped for applying concealer to my spots and it's synthetic so it doesn't really absorb any of the creamy stuff which is good all right so i need to figure out where these things are located obviously that one is a standout so i'm gonna zap it with the lighter color first and i'm gonna try to keep the products to a minimum for this routine so i'm not going to be doing any kind of color correcting i'm just going to zip it over here little zip zip zaps might do my nose a little bit because it's a little red in some of those areas i'm just very gently kind of brushing it on there happy little concealer happy little nose barber says this is what i like about live streams versus recording yes technical difficulties and all you know that reminds me though of one of my like favorite stories ever actually it's not even a story it's something that you you can just observe if you ever watch any of his videos but uh i love prince i've loved prince ever since i was a little kid like he's just amazing and during all of his live shows he would take and even on like saturday night live or any of those other performances you can see him do it he even did it during the super bowl he will intentionally miss an entrance to a phrase in a deliberate way where he like looks knowingly at the audience and is like you know i need to be singing right now and then it goes right into it it's just amazing pure charisma and then um this is the laura mercier secret camouflage s c one and i'm using the lightest color right now there you go yeah um but uh he he would either do that or we would hit the mic and it kind of like has a double effect of making everybody sit up a little straighter everyone's got you know everyone's at attention but uh it also shows that he's not singing along with the track that it's all live which is something he took a lot of pride in so again i agree i think the live streams are very real because um you know the mistakes are very obvious and i i actually want to get the visuals here nailed down to the point where all the mistakes i'm making with my makeup also become very obvious um because i i get frustrated sometimes because um i've done a complete 180 on what i think the role of photoshop is like i used to be very pro photoshop and now i try not to photoshop any of my images um unless it's like really really necessary like uh if i have something in my teeth or something like that but like i i don't i don't i try not to do it and we mark it on the pictures um on the site when photoshop hasn't been used and it gets frustrating because i feel like the better i'm getting with makeup the more filters people can apply so that they can not have to do that and i i don't know it kind of like takes the achievement away a little bit because then people are like oh she's just using a filter it's like if you could see the mistakes then obviously that makes it look more authentic it's going to cover up there's a large comment so it's going to cover your face but i'm going to read out from kathleen haran simmons my rosacea has to be covered as well my face gets red and have broken veins prince oh it's skipped prince is amazing i always thought he was gorgeous my husband used to work for him when he was younger oh my goodness what do you say about him i'm so curious about this because all the stories i've ever heard about prince he's like an enigma they make him sound like he's made of magic i would absolutely love him no more yeah i'm just i'm just lightly covering up some of the spots some of them are not letting me do that and i'm going to have to go in with something a little bit stronger i've got this bobby bo bobby brown stuff um this is the corrector in porcelain porcelain bisque and it's creamy i'm actually going to use my finger tip that is being obnoxious and it doesn't want to play nice this is a this is a thicker concealer it's a cream-based concealer because we're going for kind of dewy so we want to stick to creams and liquids for right now so we don't get pilling and all that gross stuff so it's all just about blending in that opaque spot and if you don't get all the coverage you need from just this don't don't worry you don't want to cake it on because you're going to limit your ability to add more products that can add to the opacity it has to be kind of opaque and it has to be um it it has to be kind of matte like we're also trying to reduce the shine pretty much in this area but we want to do it gradually because the whole point of this look is to look dewy i also want to kind of put some on this side a little bit because that's really going to become noticeable that one side's shinier than the other so we just kind of make it look like it's part of the contouring kathleen said he said he was an amazing artist when he worked so did my husband he could work long hours wow i've heard that i've heard that he was a real workaholic okay he would not talk about when he was alive because disclosure agreement everyone that worked for him had to sign i believe it now i'm going to try covering up some of this a little bit so this is the laura mercier stuff again with the under eye area in particular like for me when it comes to concealers i always like to go with what i think is going to be the thinnest option like particularly in the eye area and it's because it helps you build more with the other products you're using and to perhaps even add more of this later on if you need to like you just take it on right away it's just gonna be excessive you know but you give yourself a little bit of wiggle room if you go with something that's a little bit thinner than the max creamy or max high coverage thing that you could be using because especially in the eye area any little thing is going to weigh the skin down and it's just going to settle into weird places and just not be good it'll make me look tired which is kind of the opposite of what you're trying to do with the concealer here i'm going to need to put some of those drops in i think i think my eyes are going to be very happy to have a break tomorrow i'm not used to wearing contact lenses this frequently or at least not back to back i usually try to take a day off from them well you get a day off tomorrow ooh yes well that that brings me to an interesting beauty standard like you guys remember the trope from the 80s where like it would be like here's this nerd girl or even it's not even from the 80s because clark kent and superman's the same way here's this nerd all he has he's glasses he's got these glasses he's just such a geek that makes him so unattractive and i remember all these like transformation um movies when i was growing up that were like here's this really beautiful girl and oh well you know you let her hair hang down from her ponytail and take her glasses off and she's a real hottie like well here's here's here's here's here's here's the fascinating thing they actually did a study about that ah i'm on i actually did a study about that and surprisingly it's very hard for people it's surprisingly hard for people uh to recognize a person with glasses as the same person without glasses it's actually a thing now there's no excuse for not figuring out that he-man and prince adam are the same because he-man is just prints out them with spray tan and less clothing but um yeah no it's actually a thing oh and the other thing is um hearing about things like dolly parton once lost a dolly parton look-alike contest to a drag queen is that true yes it is charlie chaplin charlie chaplin came in like a third in third place to a uh charlie chaplin look-alike contest wow and i think i might be getting it wrong i might have mixed mixed him up with a more uh not morton downey jr um what's his name iron man robert downey jr yeah those are very different people robert downey jr didn't even place in a robert downey jr look-alike contest it's either that or charlie chaplin didn't even place in a charlie chaplin look-alike contest and robert downey jr got third place in a robert downey junior look-alike contest i can't remember but um yeah so not being able to recognize people you know just on the street is a thing let alone wither without glasses or in different clothes i want to explain what i'm doing really by all means that's my bit done so you can take the camera off me now you have some control over this as well my dear okay so my hands are covered in makeup don't make me do all the controls anyway um i'm still just using this concealer and i'm actually just using my fingertip to gently it's not really a contour i would say but i'm trying to give myself a little bit more coverage in my t-zone um and and that lovely slightly mattifying effect it's only slight but you can see how much shinier everything around that is right see we're controlling the shine levels and that is what i'm i'm going to i'm going to actually use the light instead of doing a heavy heavy contour um so i'm taking this like peachy color here and just just a tiny tiny tiny bit of it and i've been kind of gently putting it on this side of my nose and just kind of using that to gently cover up some of those spots what were you giggling at well serena says but how did robert downey jr do in a charlie chaplin look-alike contest huh huh charlie chaplin dressed as iron man because i still haven't seen that movie yet where he did play charlie chaplin he was quite good yeah yeah and charlie chaplin was an interesting guy problematic in today's i think he was problematic back then too just saying like he didn't even fly under the radar back then but at least at least he was anti-nazi you could say that yeah no that movie was brilliant too the great dictator oh fantastic film love that film that that little scene he does with the globe yeah and the speech at the end oh fantastic yeah i just i love that little ballet he does with the uh the globe super cool and serena agrees he was problematic back then too yeah yeah i'm just taking my time with this because to me these kinds of looks are so hard to pull off because my skin doesn't like cooperating all right i think that's gonna be good for a moment or two i might i might come back and do more under here but i kind of want to let it rest for a moment i'm going to put some primer down on my lid but i'm not going to be using eyeshadow today i'm going to be using my contouring makeup up here adele also entered an adele impersonator contest once and no one knew it was her [Laughter] wow i i wonder if if she sounded good be funny if she she she did it and intentionally you know biffed yeah but dolly parton losing a dolly parton look-alike to a drag queen that would be the best day of that drag queen's life that is the very definition of that drag queen living his best life okay we cannot take that away from him that's magnificent all right now while i'm waiting for this to kind of settle and what i'm really waiting on is for this to kind of kind of dry down a little bit um it won't it won't be completely like that except we have to set it with a little bit of powder or spray because it is kind of a cream makeup but we're letting it kind of like sit in place a little bit seeing if it settles into lines and we'll kind of take it from there because we want to keep it kind of minimalistic you can definitely still see my skin texture and how shiny i am so let me go ahead and figure out where my eye brow thingy is i am not going to fill my brows in as much as i typically do because i don't want it to look like i'm wearing a ton of makeup so i will definitely be following this up with my little spoolie brush here it is all the way through and i also have another little brush that i should probably break out this is this is the hard part for me is is trying to do this and covering up the blemishes when i'm trying to do like a no makeup makeup look here's a brow brush this is like a this is a good question i can answer kathleen says is there a certain skincare line you use kathleen all of them i used so many so so many seriously all of them i use a ton so i'm not really pressing very hard in on my hand i'm basically just grazing it tiny tiny little baby baby baby baby strokes like barely any pressure at all to the point where if i drew it down here you barely see it you know what i mean so what's that product again this is the um urban decay brow blade and cool cookie i use this color a lot and it's double ended this end is just the pencil side and there's also a felt side that has a very fine tip to it which we will also be using once i get this down i'm basically just like giving myself a shape first and then i'm going to blend the crap out of all of this aaron's got an interesting question which eyeshadow line has the best palette with the most bang for your buck honestly that is so hard to say because um there are some some little palettes that i have used where they're just great on their own one of them is a maybelline product um they're it's one of their um urban lights or urban minis and it's like purple oh gosh i if i if i figure if i can remember what it is i'll i'll i'll let you know but it's it's kind of like um it's got all these beautiful like mauvy purple colors and it's it's beautiful i have i've worn that a lot it has some complimentary browns in it and a little bit of a shimmer it's it's a lovely palette all on its own so it depends on what you're going for and that one by the way actually looks quite natural on because a lot of those um you know like drugstore brands they're not like super super super pigmented so they're kind of user friendly compared to some of this higher end stuff ken can really pack a punch and it gives you a lot to work with if if you have a technique down but if you're still kind of learning the ropes it's very easy to go really heavy-handed with it guilty like it's super easy to go overboard with the pigment which is why i i've learned to kind of just take my time embrace it as a process i like the results better when i go slow um cheryl's got a question what's what's that brush that you're using there is that the urban decay brow blade um or the brush this is a brush this is a krylon blue series brush um and frankly the number has completely worn off of it but it's just a little detail brush that is kryolan krylon there you go and it's it's just a little baby detail brush and really any any small brush will do this is synthetic and here let me get it up a little bit closer hopefully it'll it'll focus you can see that's little little little flat brush rotate a bit more so we can see the [Music] letters cryola yeah sorry when you said krylon i thought you meant this no kryolan no it's there it's their um blue series which is a really nice series of synthetic brushes my i love um i actually have been trying a ton of different brushes and a ton of all kinds of things just so i can kind of be more informed when i'm talking to you guys about it and i realized that my favorite makeup brush brand when it comes to synthetic brushes is actually makeup forever they have a they have beautiful beautiful synthetic makeup brushes and then probably after that i would have to run with something like this which is the krylon stuff they're they're really they're really really sturdy um and i could see why working professionals would really like them because they're very very durable you could you know some of these fancier brushes i've got like this big honking powder brush or even more accurately this this pretty little thing right these things are fragile they're super fragile and so some of these brushes like you have you have to be very careful with how you take care of them these things you can beat them up and they probably still function beautifully so there's nothing to be said for that i like the ritual of of cleaning my brushes though i like i like yeah i do i like doing the makeup i like organizing the makeup like seeing it all stacked up around me again i think i need an intervention at this point so i'm really just going through with this felt part of the brow blade and i'm just kind of using that same baby baby teeny tiny barely there amount of pressure to add individual little hairs and this little brush i was just talking about will come in handy because what you're going to use this for or brow brush if you have a proper brow brush that isn't a spoolie you can also use it for this but really before this dries you can break it up with the brush so it looks a little bit more like little hairs you know and i'm not not even super blending it in i'm barely getting any on the brush at all i'm just trying to break up some of these little lines so it looks a little stragglier like i want it to look nice i just don't want it to look like it's done you know i want to make sure that there are no big gaping holes so let's put something [Music] here i i have to tilt my head down because this arch sometimes needs a little reinforcement there we go oh that's terrible what is what is cheryl says i just splurged on a small vice art eyeshadow palette and i'm allergic to it oh no what stinks is that there are so many um ingredients in these palettes that it's so difficult to just pinpoint what it is that you should be avoiding yeah i think um i'm not sure if they're uh phthalate free but i think that's a good place to start is maybe look for stuff that's maybe uh phthalate free because a lot of people have reactions to that um and sometimes it's the preservatives sometimes the preservatives can cause an allergic reaction the mica can be irritating like in sparkly makeup almost all makeup has some kind of mica in it and that can be irritating for some folks too i am definitely going to have to use some eye drops that's okay i'm used to it i've been complaining about my dry eye forever and right now i don't know how you guys are dealing with the seasonal allergy thing but holy moly it is kicking my behind right now i go outside when um you know we're taking the garbage out or anything and i'm like oh pretty trees and then i'm reminded of oh that's why i can't breathe when i wake up in the morning hooray pretty trees i still am happy they're there though it still makes me happy to see them even if i can't breathe yeah i have i have white hair that comes in down here so this brow almost never looks without makeup like it's the same as the other one hey honey i'm going to do a split screen again so you can kind of take over a little bit because this is kind of painstaking and i want to i want to devote myself to it a little bit right okay okay there you go honey speaking of allergies aaron says freaking pollen clouds i have to wear glasses now instead of contacts my first um experience with pollen clouds i was living in ohio at the time there was a small stand of pines you know like after the next house over like just over the next house um i went out on a lovely warm spring morning looked out and it's the first time i saw clouds of pollen wafting from the trees and that was that was an eye-opener but then last year i went out for a walk um it was one of my first attempts at a good extended walk after after my uh car collision i went out walking around the neighborhood and the pines in the area were turning the air yellow like i thought something was on fire and the smoke was drifting it was just unbelievable oh i i thought i i thought i'd seen pollen before what do they mean pollen index how can it be that bad and then i went outside and thought oh i get it now yeah they don't play around it's uh it's kind of brutal i think that's why so many people when they get a little older they move out to places like arizona and stuff like that where they don't have as much of this stuff because it's pretty but oh it's brutal during allergy season which in georgia seems to be like all year round okay got two people from dayton ohio in hello the cash register capital of the usa i think we actually had some dayton stuff from uh when we worked at when i worked at the casino as well huh is that what which company is that cnr or something like that i i can't remember i can't remember the brand but yeah fantastic yeah cat says i'm allergic to texas all of it i've never been i'm sure the food is amazing though yeah people are like do you want mexican food or tex-mex i'm like yes please all of that sounds very good to me yeah yeah although i have heard of you know certain multi-legged wildlife you wouldn't be so fond of like tarantulas tarantulas don't scare me as much as scorpions what about tarantula hawk wasps those things are evil they're scary i've only ever seen them on the tv that's that's close enough that is very much close enough yeah loads of people from ohio bridgeport cheryl says i missed tex mex ah karen says it's one o'clock here in london i'm cooking and watching listening to you at the same time fabulous company thank you karen what what kind of wine have you got there what you prefer yes i believe i'm i'm just drinking regular coffee at this point is it flavored coffee it is flavored isn't it yeah it's the chocolate coffee it's very nice fresh market that's very nice serena says scorpions are scary af we had them at riverside california while i lived there heather got stung by a scorpion that was in her bed and the last in the last place she lived and i have personally turfed out three scorpions from this house since we moved in here uh back in 2018 and they're only little inch long buggers they're kind of cute actually but still not something i want taking umbrage with no i i don't like them i used to be neutral until i rolled over on one in my sleep yeah it's the stuff of nightmares for sure i remember the uh i remember the sting oh no i'm so pale that it was basically like a bullseye on my back it was awful sauvignon blanc says karen karen i'm gonna make a recommendation to you even if you don't like red wine try tracking down a nice chilean carbonare beautiful beautiful fruity and delicious and sweet and marvelous actually that's good good advice for anyone track down a chilean carmenaire lovely wine the problem i have with finding recommendation giving people recommendations is that i'm fighting an internal battle do i share this information so more people can enjoy it and it gets widely disseminated so they realize hey there's a demand for it let's make more or do i not tell people about it and try and keep it all for myself you greedy greedy person try to keep all that delicious wine so mean this is literally the same brush i was using earlier for the concealer and i didn't put any additional product on it i'm just using it to kind of clean this up a little bit i don't like the way this is settling right here like it's got kind of a line there so i'm going to kind of play with it a little bit if i can't get that to work it's all right too i've got some balm i'll try to put on it we'll figure it out and i've got other things i can try to use if that doesn't work out but karen you're welcome for the recommendation daria says i just started my five year journey into allergy shots oh wow you have my sympathy hey but at least you're in the process i'm going to apply some two-faced lip injection extreme it's clear oh this one's almost done good thing i have a refill okay cheryl there you go there's how you spell that and catherine says oops that skipped again get a black light they fluoresce it makes them easy to find i'm not sure i want to see so scary they'd be nifty and psychedelic seeing them pop up as lime green blobs in in in the dark but at the same time also kind of freaky and you're totally freaky yeah i think they're cute but that's me they're no they're like evil space alien creatures are stunned by one so maybe i i'd have a different opinion yes like on a visceral level i can't stand the little things wow no just a whole universe of now leora that was a kryolan um this little blue brush yeah it's like a little detail brush from kryolan there you go i've just typed it up i've got the spelling for you yeah and then the one that i'm using for my concealer is this one from it cosmetics it's there this one i can still read it it's the number 220 small shadow brush um okay so yeah i think i'm gonna break out some of that balm i think i'll take myself off here oh okay um somehow stop my cat there we go okay all right over to you then my treasure cool ah can you open this up again for me yes my passion thank you you're so cute i love you um all right yeah what i was doing with that concealer brush was i was basically just taking the residual product and making sure that i cleaned up the edges of this still not real stoked about how that sit is covered up right now it's not at a hundred percent yet but we'll we'll get it there it's a process um this is the dr feelgood balm from benefit i'm going to use some of that right here and see if i can get that line to smooth out oh oh yeah there you go good stuff good stuff i'm gonna use a little bit here this is actually a mattifying balm as well so it's gonna help us mattify these shiny shiny areas around my t-zone that i don't necessarily want to be super shiny maybe here i don't want some creasing going on just kind of use this balm and i've got that zit there that's covered up so i'm kind of going around it you can see it doesn't break my makeup up make up you know what i mean doesn't break up my makeup oh dear we've got football widows discussing with each other oh happily i am i am not a fan of football whatsoever i just watching a bunch of rich muscular metrosexual men running around in shorts just doesn't do anything for me i think we covered that yesterday too yeah you just really don't like sports i like playing sports i just sometimes it's just i watching someone else do it bores me it's like watching someone else play a game i'd rather be in on the game than watching a bunch of other people do it you know i'm gonna look down so you can kind of see what i just did see how the concealer settled into these lines can you see that so that's kind of why i waited to put anything else on and i used some of this balm to smooth it out can you see the little lines i hope they're showing up i know i'm making awkward faces now i'm like but yeah i'm gonna do this on this side too but yeah allergies and everything are part of the reason why my eyes are so irritated so are there any particular like age-related beauty standards that just drive you guys bonkers like i have a couple that i i really take issue with like why are bright colors only for like little children like eight-year-olds why can't we enjoy them forever you know not just with makeup like with everything like if you like bright colors why can't you have a brightly colored house for example you know or wear brightly colored hair like what do you guys think about that or are there any other topics adjacent to that that you would like to talk about well leanne says show us your mascara face heather that's the fun one [Laughter] i know and i still end up getting it all over myself every stinky time ah kathleen comes in with i hate when i get told that it's too young for you to wear in your face or your clothes i'm doing it anyways damn right that's right barbara says i'm from the south and was told forever that long hair wasn't appropriate after a certain age i've heard that too and that's so not that's so wrong like i remember when i was a little kid well i'm not maybe not a little kid like a tween watching twister when that first came out in the theaters and i remember aunt meg had this long flowing gray hair she just looked amazing and i thought that's what i want my hair to look like when i get older but you know with wigs hey we can make it happen ah thunderwoman says says uh naffcon a for allergic eyes it used to be prescription now over the counter oh nice i might have to give that a try i've been using these uh zatator ones um but you can't use them with contact lenses these you're really not supposed to use with contacts but i haven't had any issue with it so i kind of do it anyway um in fact i might might want to just do that now so i don't put my eye makeup on and then have that issue do not show off legs after 16-0 long hair after 60 older ladies would only wear flats hey since i'm going to put some eye drops in which might be like gratuitous can we at least split-screen this so people can choose to focus on you and not like trying there we go okay let's see exactly what i want and exactly i want to know where this magical handbook is that says you're not supposed to do things when you reach a certain age i never got a copy i haven't told that about hair as well my hair was long until it fell out and all these things they they say you're never supposed to do wear white after labor day who the hell made that up who cares like some of this stuff just doesn't make any sense like no i'll tell you what it is what it is is it's one of those gatekeeping things oh yeah are you one of us if you do this then you're not one of us you're nokd not our kinder oh sorry i broke into my personal health the third voice i say lobby you're so good at that i'm over and breaking all the rules good do that i love it you look amazing in your profile picture i'm 59 and brought my felix in movement orchid to work yes good thank you thank you no i love it that's awesome if there's a rule i tend to want to break it there's there is a song lyric that that puts me in mind but i can't remember it for the life of me if anyone can think of that song there if there's a rule we'll break it someone please wait wait wait wait wait wait we'll break it no no remind you something anyway someone will probably come in on that is that is that that's not the monkey theme song is it no no okay you've given us such a vague clue i'm not good at this stuff as for clothing i don't want to dress like a teenager but i don't want to be matronly either it's a blankety black tightrope what darn right it is it's it's like that thing uh it's like that thing do this no no not like that yeah no i i remember like laverne and shirley thank you serena now i remember um when i was younger hearing my mom and her friends talk about um an older lady who was a kindergarten teacher and they would say things like you know uh you know she shouldn't wear hot pink and stuff like that that's that's too young for her age i feel like she's a kindergarten teacher though she wants to like dress in a way the kids are gonna be fond of like you know and and if it brings her joy who cares you know it didn't look bad on her why why do we have to just wear gray liz says the right wing takes 10 years or more off your appearance that's right all right serena comes in with the lyrics give us any chance we'll take it read us any rule we'll break it we're gonna make it i should just leave it to you because no burned into my skull so now i'm setting this with some powder now that i put that balm on it just to kind of avoid getting those lines showing up so prominently this is that pat mcgrath powder that i keep talking about i use it for everything this is the light skin fetish sublime perfection blurring powder and i'm applying it with a weighing gauze airbrush well i'll say this i'll say this burned into my skull that's that's back when what do you call um sitcom themes would actually be singable songs um like actual full songs like uh the greatest american hero had a full song that made it onto the hit paragraph suited friends so well not only so did friends but also that's not the one i'm thinking i was thinking of bosom buddies with tom hanks and peter scolari well what song was that oh crap did it again as soon as i have to talk about something instantly please flees from my brain so if anyone can uh i mean you can remember what song was on buzz of buddies i think it was something like paul simon why not paul simon spring to mind i don't know all right i'm applying my life by billy joel that's it thank you billy joy that's a great song that's a great song yeah that is a great song fun fun sitcom too sunder woman says says still broken combat boots leggings and butt covering too fair enough that's awesome um i am going to apply another powder it's the one i recommended actually for blending into your wig since i've got it handy this is yet the your skin but better cc plus light since i didn't really use a foundation i'm going to try to put a little bit of this over this incorrigible little zit and mattify the living daylights out of it until it just disappears i'm using the smooth buffer but i'm not using it as a buffer brush at the moment i'm stippling with it as you probably noticed i'm dipping into the powder just picking up a little bit happy little zit just fading into my happy little skin as i stipple this on now i don't necessarily want to control too much of the shine here on the periphery because i want to kind of have some light focus there oh we're going to have to google that what anyone remember when chuck norris tried to sing the lyrics to the walker texas ranger theme hilariously awful right are you looking that up no but i'm gonna make not right now but i'm definitely going to make a note of it chuck boris sings walker texas ranger theme thank you very much indeed catherine okay and now i am gently ever so lightly very little pressure at all see see the amount of bristles are not moving so i am not really digging into my skin because i don't want to really over apply i don't want to move any of the concealer around too much i really just want to set this and get a little bit of control over the shine and i also want to prevent this from traveling so i try to apply a very i mean i've used multiple powders and i use them in a strategic way but i try in almost every look i've been doing that lately um but i really try to use as little as i can possibly get away with so that way it doesn't have a negative impact on on the look all right now don't wipe my hands off i always keep these little makeup remover thingies these neutrogena wands handy so i can get makeup off my skin okay so i've got this which is the tarteist pro glow kit i think i've used this one other time this week i really like the colors in here for light skin every time you mention the brand i keep thinking it should be bigger on the inside it's got five million colors in here i'm gonna take the sculpt color and i'm using uh this is the sonia g mini cheek i'm just putting a little bit on here not a lot at all because i mean we wanted to look like i'm not actually wearing makeup so just a teeny teeny teeny bit again very little pressure and when you use good quality products you don't need to use a lot it's always best to go in with a little bit and then kind of build it up serena says so i can use it for my 13th doctor cosplay too right that's amazing i hope you will send pictures oh i've seen loads of loads of her pictures have you yeah let's put what's up on the facebook page you're not on facebook very much so no i i i kind of i i i kind of stay off of facebook facebook scares me sometimes i know a lot of people are probably watching on facebook right now or you know a fair number of people yeah and so i'm not trying to dis but obviously we're trying to be accommodating up to that but uh facebook intimidates me a little bit they're they're a little big brothery i feel that way with google sometimes too all right so you know i'll show her and i'm putting a little little bit of this sculpt color up here because we're not gonna be applying a blusher just a little bit up here to kind of make it look like i've got a round cheek as opposed to this flattened out cheek that i currently got because i had i tried filler i did not like the way the filler looked i've got a little bit left on this side but it was over a year and a half ago so most of it's gone uh it has already kind of reabsorbed or dissolved um and i have not had more put in aside from in my lips i have them done about once a year now and i i really like that um it because when i lost weight i lost weight everywhere including my feet my eyelids my lips so to me these just look like my lips looked well before i put the lip plumping stuff on them they look like my lips used to look before i lost the weight it just feels more natural to me even though it's got hyaluronic acid filler in it it's weird but i didn't like the way that the filler in my cheeks made me look i felt like i had a little bit of pillow face going on which just didn't look natural to me so i'm letting it kind of dissolve on its own and then i'll figure something else out from there but you want to approximate kind of like that rounded shape right it's nice and it's youthful plus some of that warmer color can color correct a little bit in those spots but again i'm using a very small amount of product and this is um a matte powder and you can probably see my freckles still through here because we're going very very light coverage today shelly says so what do you use for lip plumper i missed that oh uh most days i use this stuff and i've used this several times this week this is the buxom um plumping lip balm and this is clear but the color is called the big o but it is clear today i'm trying to use up the last of my two-faced extreme lip injection um i i'm almost all the way done with it and i get a very uh sincere sense of gratification every time i finish using one of these these products so it's like challenge i've conquered it um but i don't remember where i discarded it i might have actually used it and then thrown the rest away because that one was almost gone but that one works really well and in both cases they pull up my lips and they make them um a little bit pinker than they would normally be i was gonna go up here a little bit i swear this routine does not actually take me 20 hours to do just like uh the metallic eyeshadow thing probably wouldn't have taken so long but the talking's fun and nigel i both kind of get into it and we get off track so hopefully that's entertaining because i swear if you tried to duplicate some of this stuff yesterday would probably still take a while but this would probably take you maybe 20 minutes tops if you just blasted through it and i just like to buff buff buff it's buffed hurray for buffing oh yeah oh i need to do my eyes i want i do want to do something with my eyes so what i'm gonna do is use that exact same color that i was just using so the sculpt color the matte one i'm gonna put on an eyeshadow brush and i tried to see if there were any there was any information online about if this would be an eye irritant and i couldn't find anything in there that was obvious i've actually done this look before um so and i didn't have any issues with it but just a little caveat there this is a this is a sculpting palette i'm using kind of a big fluffy brush that's relatively flat it's not completely flat but it's a little bit flatter and this is a wayne goss 18. and because this is slightly more powdery than an eyeshadow um would be or at least at this higher end mid to high end um you want to make sure you really tap it off before you go in and i'll do one at a time so you can kind of see what i'm doing but i'm basically also going to go up here still with the same fluffy brush with some circles over here and now i'm going to take a clean brush i always like to follow up with the clean brush to blend oh if there's any leftover product i can take it to the other side i don't like the waste stuff all right i might want to take a slightly smaller brush so i'm going to grab this sonia g mini booster i'm going in with the exact same color but just a little bit deeper in the crease area okay all righty try and think of which one i want to go with i think i'm going to go with this lip color which is right here which is kind of like a highlighter shade but it doesn't have any obvious glitter in it because i don't want obvious glitter obviously because that wouldn't look very natural and you can feel free to talk nigel because when i get to this stage i'm gonna end up getting kind of like lost in the details of making sure this looks okay okay yeah at the moment we're just discussing lip filler injections oh yeah go ahead speak out about it well um let's see where is it jody asked how much it was pamela said it was about five hundred dollars and um pamela answered before i could look up yeah it was it the the for me the lip filler was was approximately in that ballpark of about 500 bucks um i only had a vial though like they make you pay by the vial and i only used one um because i was just trying to reclaim some volume i wasn't trying to go for the whole like kylie jenner so um yeah no that's just it's not my aesthetic i mean i get it they kind of want to look like bratz dolls but that's just i just i just wanted my lips back that's all but with the voluma because i had cheek um filler and that's the stuff that i was saying i didn't really care for i basically i have so much extra skin on my face and i carry it well but i had so much extra skin that they put eight vials of voluma in my cheek and they could have kept going and it didn't really do anything to fix the asymmetry and i was like dude we gotta stop like i i don't want any more like i don't want to just keep puffing myself up i just lost over 100 pounds why do i want to pay thousands of dollars to look like i didn't lose weight in my face right so um but i i highly am super stoked about the lip injections i'm i'm i really enjoyed them it's not comfortable when they're doing it it is a little painful but it's like a really really sensitive bee sting and you will cry you'll probably need to blow your nose a couple times and then you'll be fine but go to somebody who like has a good reputation with injectables because just because it's it's minimally invasive and temporary that you could still end up with scarring you could still end up with lumps you could end up with a whole bunch of issues and complications if you go to somebody who isn't good with it or it could just look aesthetically not good um the lady i went to dr angelina um is very good and i think she did a beautiful job on my lips and frankly she was doing a fine job with my cheeks too it's just i don't think it was the approach for me my issues skin and a little bit of volume loss here but i don't necessarily think i need to really puff up like a chipmunk to live my best life so your best suggestion is to shop around for people who who are the best rated oh for sure there you go go to real self on real self they're they're pretty good about uh raiding the doctors and i actually uh have gone on real self and asked people point blank like should i get um a facelift like i know that if i do i'm like just at the beginning of it but i literally have and i don't want to pinch it too much right now but i literally have like about an inch and a half of extra skin on one side of my face versus the other it's a pretty it's a pretty profound asymmetry actually towards the bottom and i would very much like to fix it um yeah that's about the end of that i very much would like to fix it it's a me thing but uh it's something where i want to make sure i get plenty of opinions so i went on real self and the doctors answered very quickly and i feel very confidently and of course they didn't all agree with each other and that's great i feel like it gave me an opportunity to see the differences a little bit better cheryl says what are you using for eyeshadows is that the tarteist this is still that contouring palette and i'm basically just contouring my eyes i did lay a primer down though to kind of like be like a protective barrier and to help lock it in place a little bit there you go yeah but i'm using really fluffy brushes to apply all of this stuff and it's literally just two colors it's literally just the sculpt and the lit that's it and i'm just adding a little bit of definition um and that's that's really all i'm doing here so i'm going to duplicate this on the other eye starting with this one and i'm basically you know i'm not applying darker colors i'm just trying to build this kind of strategically so i'm starting with the fluffy brush under the eyes and on the crease then this mid-sized fluffy brush um and then i'm taking this one i'm not putting any product on and i'm just kind of windshield wiping it and then this one which is the smaller brush head i'm going in one more time and then just blending blending blending blending did i put stuff on this i did now okay son roman says says heather would you recommend an aesthetic plastic surgeon i i don't know if that is i mean i i think that that's basically what you'd be looking for my i have not actually had any facial plastic surgery yet i'm still in the like getting recommendations and opinions and researching phase for myself as well um because the only thing i've had so far in my face are in our injections and the person i went to was very well known for that she is uh an aesthetic plastic surgeon she's dual certified um and that that's very cool um but yeah i'm still i don't know i have to clearly i need to research more but um i i do i do know that the um the one guy that told me i had snoopy dog boobs was an aesthetic plastic surgeon he was dual certified and he had hospital privileges and all that other stuff which are all good things apparently when you're looking for a plastic surgeon but not good bedside man you had no bedside manner at all i still have my sad snoopy dog boobs that story will never not be funny to me i mean i know it's slightly enraging but it's still so like it sounds like something like that people should know they shouldn't say like i understand when i gaff as an autistic person that people are just like oh wow she's so awkward but but when you're in a position of power and clearly not autistic and you do that just because you can that's so that's that's its own thing it's not cool oh it's funny speaking of awkward i was um i was looking into um remember that that show i i got you a couple episodes in on believe nothing with rick male yeah i was reading it reading up on it and the the main character dr hannah awkward dr awkward is a palindrome as is hannah so if he's got a double palindromic name fun stuff just that thought that was a nifty nifty bit of writing and character creation okay now i gotta apply some of this stuff that lit color that i mentioned earlier and i really want this to look very very washed out like unlike the really super colorful looks where you you don't want to blend the whole thing all over because it'll just make everything really muddy this is kind of different because we sort of want it to look like that we want it to be hard to tell where the makeup has actually been applied like where the edges of it are so i'm taking a bigger brush this is the mini cheek again that i used earlier i'm literally just and this is a very soft brush all of these brushes you probably see me doing a lot of this and you're like why are you doing that these are all very very very soft brushes um and i prefer to do that because i like to do a lot of strokes um on my eye makeup so i needed i needed to be minimally abrasive so that's what we've got going on super super super super subtle and i might even take a little finger full of this because it'll apply a little thicker if i use my finger just just get a little bit of extra sheen out of it but that's just my taste and then i'm going to use a little bit of that same color that lip color under here it doesn't have like a super duper sparkle to it if anything it's almost like a very very faint shimmer with this light gold tint which is really great for brightening i'm checking out what's going on here looks good so far we're almost done i think all i've got left is lips and mascara i'm gonna put a little bit of extra on this that's it it's driving me bonkers because it does not want to go into hiding like we get super close and then it reveals itself all right close though we're getting close i'm gonna go ahead and curl my lashes now nigel yeah you want to take over a little bit all right i'll see what i can do here all righty karen says the full makeup no makeup look that's right no makeup looks so many products lol says cheryl i know i'm not i'm not really good at doing no products like i have all of these products i i absolutely want to use them looks perfect for my monitor says good stuff heather does amazing job with her makeup i think and um it first stunned me it really stunned me how long it takes to look like you're not wearing any makeup when putting on makeup that's why i try to only wear makeup when i really want it to look like i'm wearing makeup for me though like this is kind of a compromise like i always try to do an alternation scheme where i do like something out there super gonzo to something a little bit more work appropriate and then back and forth and back and forth so even with these live streams you can see that i alternated um really really intense looks with ones that were a little bit more demure um and and that's just because i want to make sure that i'm representing both sides but yeah the minimalist this is minimal for me like um this is only one two three four five six seven eight nine ten products which i know is a lot i know that's a lot for some people but you know i'm used to using a lot of products because i am not this is literally a get ready with me like this is just the appetizer and then the main course is that i have to be under studio lighting and take a bunch of pictures of myself or if it's still nice and sunny outside i will go outside first and take some images so you can see what this looks like in full sun because that's the real test but this is for photography so i am not going to cut corners unless i'm doing a video specifically to review like a single product and see how well that single product performs on its own but this is different i'm literally getting ready for a photo shoot it just happens to be a very minimalistic um makeup routine sharon says good for you yes very good and cheryl and a couple other people have asked how do you keep your eyelashes curled mine won't hold at all uh mascara helps a ton for me they don't hold more than maybe like after i take my mascara off it's over um but yeah i curl them when i wake up in the morning and then i crawl them before i do my makeup so you can see that they have already like and i had to do it again anyway and this this one's doing something fun like these two in the middle here want to clump together and i haven't even put anything on yet so this is gonna be a fun one um i think because we're going with light makeup i'm gonna go with a really light colored mascara this says i never put in this amount of time lol well to be fair to be fair um you're not doing a live stream at the same time yeah this would be a lot quicker this would literally be 20 minutes tops karen says you have the perfect face for showing makeup looks and every time i throw up a comment it covers exactly what you're doing this is just a tinted lip balm this is a clinique whole lot honey chubby stick just tinted lip balm and then for mascara because i don't i don't want it to be really really harsh i'm not wearing eyeliner or anything i'm gonna go with this burgundy colored one that i barely ever get to use so i like using this one for softer looks there you go you would think that it would look really weird but it just it it works really well it's also really hard to find this color apparently used to be really popular back in the 90s and it's just gotten really really hard to find but it doesn't look as harsh as like um a black eyeliner would that's going to grab a little brush just an extra little clean brush it doesn't matter what it is as long as the head is small this one make sure that i don't get any on my eyelid this is a l'oreal product this is the voluminous original in burgundy i might put two coats on i am wiping off the end of it on a tissue just to prevent that little clump until i got some of my finger that's all right right nigel you want to take over a little bit honey uh the eye stuff is really painstaking sometimes and i don't want to make a mess do various makeup tips flying back and forth uh i love that between the the cut between any good any good ones ah i can't even begin they're going so thick and fast it's hard for me to keep up um barbara says i'm flashing back to high school when every girl had blue mascara i have some blue mascara i have a dior show blue mascara but i like navies and midnights more than like the bright electric blue i say that and i just had like a rainbow eyeliner on yesterday but first discussion of eve sun alone mascara oh aaron said i had neon yellow oh that would be interesting that must have been quite a sight i would not be able to pull that color off i love yellow i love yellow i love orange i love bright happy colors they do not like me it takes a lot of work to get those colors to look okay on me oh my mascara like that anymore that was in the 90s that yellow one yeah yeah i mean it was tough enough to get this burgundy one i found somebody who was selling it on amazon it works just great yeah now i'm gonna use this setting spray and then we're all done is it uh well liz says eve solo makes the dark red mascara oh i bet that's pretty i'm using a dewy set which is a anastasia beverly hills product i'm almost done with that bottle i bought a backup already i use it a lot in the summertime or when i want these kind of dewy looks it adds some of the shine back so if you thought i want too too matte this will help but it will also do so in a way where it kind of helps those uh zits fade back into the background more instead of calling more attention to them as long as we mattified them and covered them up sufficiently before applying this we're golden and you'll know that when i go outside um a little bit later maybe share some of those images at another time maybe on instagram what are you laughing at um yeah there's a reason they don't make those colors anymore they look terrible on everyone but they sound intriguing oh yeah undoubtedly all right well that's it that's you know i think the issue is really the zits if i didn't have the zits this would be a lot simpler because it's a lot easier to pull off these dewy looks when you have really smooth skin but i have wrinkles over here and zits all up in here and it just it takes a lot of um strategizing and just kind of being really painstaking about it to get it to look right um but yeah like nigel said it's an awful lot of work to look like you're not wearing makeup oh yeah kristen says pat the day eye drops for allergies is over the counter now i'm sits into everything and i can use them you just have to wait 15 minutes before putting in your contacts and aaron says what is the dewy mist spray that is a setting spray that adds a little bit of shine and hydration to your look and mine's still drying you can kind of see some of the spots here um and this is from anastasia beverly hills it does have a scent to it um i know they make a version that's like pineapple scented i'm not sure what this scent is but it has a scent do it for sure it does kind of evaporate once it's um soaked in though karen says you can't see the zits now it looks great thank you that's that's like three quarters of the battle i honestly find it much easier to do full coverage looks because with the zips because obviously the foundation does most of that heavy lifting and the rest is just you know the cherry on top there's no room to hide i didn't even use a foundation right so there's there's no room to hide um and that you know i tried to make sure that my freckles were still showing through and to to really pull that off it takes it takes a little bit of mapping things out you know assess the problem zones and then realize that your goal is going to be mattifying those so that they kind of fade away um and then you want to kind of make sure that they're symmetrical on each side so if you place a little bit here place a little bit here just to make sure you know you don't call attention especially if there's a different shine level and you're playing with the shine and you can see how uh this whole thing started off very very shiny and then i just kept applying mattifying products on top of it in a way where it really minimized that in strategic places and let it really shine through in other places and then that's what the eye makeup looks like kathleen says do you find pressed powder or mineral powder better um i tend to prefer really finely milled regular like loose powder um i do like this finely milled like pat mcgrath stuff um the by terry stuff i was using yesterday was very very good but i tend to like regular setting powder more than the mineral powders i have used mineral powder foundations and they do work pretty well but my skin is is quite dry in some places and i find that i have difficulty with those mineral foundations if my skin is behaving that way so i usually stick to the liquid products because they can be a little bit more forgiving on the dry spots which get bigger over time it seems like it used to be just like certain places like down here would get dry and up here would get dry but now it's like coming coming inward where everything's dry except for like just this general mess here anything else going on i want to go split screen with you again since we're we're almost done all right were there any other comments that you'd like to highlight uh pat today is a i have awful allergy eyes and dry eye syndrome yeah same i've i have tear duct plugs and so uh but you can see that that the drop i just used the lumify did a great job just great but with the allergies and the contacts and the makeup and everything i yeah i feel ya like you need something so i have like a whole bunch of drops just sitting next to me just just in case even when i work i have like a little basket with drops in it the struggle is real well it says mineral powders are good for mattifying they're too dry for me as a base yeah kathleen says my skin is very dry so i have to use thick creams yeah and a routine like this works really great on dry skin i still have a lot of like scaly stuff going on here on my nose um and i i had that yesterday and just you know being really gentle with how i applied it and using that that balm to kind of smooth everything down before i laid the concealer on top of it really helped kind of hide that dead skin and particularly up here it was a little flaky and i put a little bit of that balm in there and it completely just smoothed it out i think he says i like to glow like a rotisserie chicken or a krispy kreme doughnut love it you know i i still haven't had a krispy kreme donut really i've lived here in georgia for three years for coming like two and a half years now i still haven't had a krispy kreme i think that's because the whole time you've lived with me i've been on some kind of diet though yeah that's true yeah they're not i mean i don't think there's a single diet where krispy kreme is a prominent feature i'm sure the i'm sure the crispy cream corporate people have come up with a krispy kreme diet aaron says not missing anything i've heard that and i've also i've heard various things i've heard that either i'm not missing anything and they're substandard compared to what you normally get or they're the most amazing thing on the face of the earth especially when used as a vehicle for bacon sandwiches or something or fried chicken and waffle sandwiches i don't know that's a thing people do what the no but using them cream's yes i've heard that how do they do that did they cut them in half i have no idea what do they literally use two donuts this is america i don't know where the limits are i don't know i don't know all i heard of is donuts as a sandwich outer casing like uh no not unless there's custard in there i swear liz says omg don't get started they're addictive kathleen says i miss those donuts they're no longer in my state i have made some at home just a lot of work and this is not the ones i've had not substandard here in socal at all nice well we'll have to we'll have to have that krispy kreme experience with you at some point honey hmm all righty that would be funny we can buy him for a livestream that you could you could be like oh british man nigel reacts to american donuts oh like a bagel they cut them in half oh so oh someone says they cut them in half another says they used two donuts my daughter made a burger out of it says man oh my goodness i i couldn't i mean i definitely couldn't now but i don't know if i could have done that even when i was bigger just because that that sounds like a recipe for a nap i'm still trying to wrap my brain around chicken and waffles i think if they're done right they could probably be really complimentary because get a little bit of syrup on the chicken it's still really good serena says i'm too yankee should not appreciate duncan i actually love dunkin donuts i know john is a big fan of dunkin donuts too i like their coffee their coffee is very good and i really like their plain cake donuts i'm so boring i love plain cake doughnuts well the one we used to have a great one an independent donut shop on um portage called um uh the donut factory that was very good um and then there was another one that used to supply our high school and they would they would have these chocolate peanut butter doughnuts that would be chocolate cake with a thick layer of peanut butter and a thick layer of chocolate frosting over oh fantastic yeah all of this sounds like it isn't part of my sleeper diet none of it sounds like any kind of diet where you'll survive beyond about 50. yeah yeah which i'm creeping up on anyway yeah my diet consists mainly of protein shakes and coffee and by the way i'm so proud of me and nigel because during this whole week in preparation for the live streams we haven't missed our workouts yes like we've we've gone to all the workouts that we were supposed to go to we rearranged them so they would be in the morning i'm actually still wearing workout attire it is quite frumpy um but i'm so proud of us for um being able to to keep keep that up even though as i've i've admitted openly i hate working out it's like my least favorite thing to do i i i can't even front and be like one of those people it's like i'm healthy now i love exercise you'll love it too just give it a try no i hate it i can't stand it i i wish i could be basically doing anything but exercising particularly when they put me on a machine and then i feel like a hamster on a wheel just like oh my god the monotony and you have the audacity to put cnn on like i need something more exciting than that like even if it's just some trashy reality show it's the afternoon they should put like a judge show on i would be all about that so you know some maury who's the daddy anything like that would be more exciting than watching like c-span or whatever it is that they usually put on at the gym to address some points here did nigel say he's approaching 50 yes i turned 47 this year uh let's see serena says the best winchell's donuts the best ones in southern california is that the one that's got the gigantic uh doughnut uh building um that you keep seeing in hollywood movies and catherine says no chicken and waffles in nebraska we eat chili with cinnamon rolls used to be a standard high school lunch item in nebraska and kansas okay i've got to ask this at what point did they start doing things like chicken and waffles and chili and cinnamon rolls here in the usa because i don't remember any of that stuff when i was growing up in ohio but then again i grew up in ohio i would like to counter with english people eat tuna and sweet corn on pizza english people put baked beans on pizza heather they they have split pizzas that are 50 percent tuna and sweet corn and 50 baked beans oh okay serena says no the big donut building is randy's okay that's fair enough uh julie says wait to our friends gets really bad the endorphins from exercise makes morning bearable well julie we both have arthritis and yeah we're getting there yeah i mean i do feel i i agree you're completely 100 percent correct julie honestly like i and he could probably attest to this i'm always like the grumble girl i am grumpy cat in the morning i need like i don't know three gallons of coffee only a slight exaggeration i need i need to be awake for longer than you know a couple hours before like i stopped being grumpy cat i'm just not a morning person in the slightest on top of that i have plantar fasciitis and arthritis and so when i wake up i'm like why i just i have a hard time not just wanting to sit there in the bed and just trying to to to soak it in for a little bit longer before i have to go out and make my joints move what do you mean ribena it is one of the greatest substances in the history of the world julie you have to dilute it that's the problem i see so many people saying americans trying uh british snacks they get the ribena and they pour it straight out and just drink the syrup straight that no you have to dilute it four to one uh let's see how about in cincinnati ohio area they put cinnamon in the chili where you heather yeah heather won a a a chili making contest putting coco oh my gosh this isn't her chili this is a silly silly story though okay because i want a chili cook-off in the most cynical fashion possible okay so my friend spencer and i and i'm putting on anya in smoke show are by the way we got two wigs i want to pair this look with so this will be the first one um available for pre-sale at cysterwigs.com um um hold on i'm getting distracted by hair okay just a second i want to part this a little bit better barbara said it would be awesome to get out of bed and not walk like frankenstein oh i can sympathize in fact this is this is true this is absolutely a hundred percent true i get out of bed in the morning and think right gotta make coffee and then heather and i both launch into our coffee goods okay that's my little introduction i don't know if you saw what i did there i haven't applied any product to this wig but i just parted it a little bit softer in the front because this isn't rooted up here um so you'll want to make sure that you adjust the part so that way it looks really nice and neat so this is anya in smoke show our do a little turn on the catwalk i was saying something and then i completely got sidetracked do you remember what i was saying earlier uh no i was responding to this about hot knobs and chocolate digestives and stuff we're talking about food i know i was telling a story and then i got completely off track i think the original issue was that um i got sidetracked responding to julian saying yeah she's right because the exercise makes me feel a lot better though every time i go in i am resentful of it yeah the uh the anya wig is on pre-sale right now and for uh a couple of the colors they have uh sold out in the first run and so we have a second run order that's coming in august the first batch of all the colors is coming in may and so um there are some colors that uh have not completely sold out on their their pre-sale and those are are still going to ship in may so just so you know what's going on there but we do have a a second run already ordered and already in production it's just they were ordered a little bit later based on some of the feedback that i was getting on the live stream that i did where i showcased all of these there was a lot of interest in some of the colors so we ordered a second run of those and the ones we didn't order a second run up we actually uh turned turned off people's ability to um order it once it sells out so that way we could keep track of all those pre-orders oh it says you're winning a chili making contest that's it okay thank you all right so i was a vegetarian for a really really long time and so i knew that i would win this contest basically and my friend spencer was helping me because he was not a vegetarian so he was my taste testing buddy um and he had some really good ideas that we also used in the chili by the way so it was it was kind of like a i'd say 75 25 project you know 75 me but he contributed quite a bit and he was the taste tester which is very important so i was like right we need to put a lot of meat in here we need to put you know a variety of beans that throw people off guard we need to put some caramelized onions in here because people like sweet stuff and we need to put the hottest peppers we can possibly find in here and if we if we do all of these things and put some chipotle peppers in here too uh to make it kind of smoky we'll get smoky sweet hot greasy all of the things that people look for in in naughty naughty food we're gonna put it into a single batch of chili and the thing is i want a chili contest without ever tasting that chili i did not taste it and taste it at all so you put some cocoa in there yeah we put cocoa we put cinnamon we put peanut butter it was basically a dessert but it wasn't you know it it because we put so such hot peppers in it um they had three different kinds of beans and we didn't get them out of a can we like um did it did it the the way where you get the dehydrated beans so it has that pure bean flavor without having all the tin flavor it was a lot of work and then we stuck it in a crock pot for what seems like an eternity and then we we actually chilled it for two nights in a row so we did all of the textbook things that you're supposed to do with the chili and it was it was magical apparently because it was gone like the guy it was at a church that we both worked at at the time a methodist church in hudson so if you live in hudson ohio you you've probably seen the church one of the churches i used to work in but uh yeah i won that church as a chili cook-off with the hope of my friend spencer without ever tasting the chili so all right i think i'm going to go ahead and um put on the one in cocoa swirl that is behind me so you can see what that one looks like too but i wanted to show you that you know if you do a natural looking makeup makeup routine and you and you put some of that color in there right like i put a little bit of cheek color in here you won't look quite as washed out and in fact i look much less washed out with this on than um i would probably have looked had i not put any makeup on at all if i would just put this on it would definitely make me feel a little washed out simply because i'm used to seeing myself with really dark hair or really brightly colored hair um and it's a real i mean i feel this way when i wear blondes too though i feel like i need to really make sure that i have makeup on or else i feel like they just kind of wash me out but again that just could be my bias because i'm used to seeing myself with darker hair colors i'm going to interject here a second uh we're getting a lot of um uh product questions and so forth yeah and suggestions well i i don't want to sound good because we're getting a lot of them and we can't address them all in one go and it i certainly can't type that fast but if you've got uh product questions or if you want to see a particular color on a particular wig or anything like that please write into our help desk support cysterwigs.com because they've got all these spreadsheets in front of them that will be able to answer your questions and if you write in with a request say like a certain way in a certain color or something like that then what they can do is they can keep track of all the requests and if the requests come in they say hey look a lot of people asking for this let's make it for them that that's uh that's the best way we can keep track of who wants what and how popular something is okay so i'll uh write that down again support at cysterwigs.com there you go oh do i spell that right how does the back of this book honey well let me see that looks fantastic there you go i know a couple times during live streams i'll have like the tag sticking out or something like that and be like i look so pretty and then i watch it in the replay i'm like oh gosh [Laughter] total amateur hour wamp [Laughter] oh my various goals you look stunning in this coloring style system thank you i feel a lot more at home in the darker colors shannon says you look beautiful thank you yeah i love this color it's kind of like our chocolate icing but if you made it warm it's it is a warmer brown color no this is this is the cocoa swirl which is yeah so it's kind of like i said it's a bit like the chocolate icing except the highlights are are definitely warmer and the base color is more like an eight which is already going to be warmer than the base on the chocolate icing which is a six um so you can both see they're they're both medium browns but you know this is definitely a gold base medium brown that has kind of like a caramel brown highlight and a medium golden blonde highlight on top so it's and they're small section highlights for the most part so really really pretty on a textured style like this there you go i keep forgetting to toggle it right i got to sit up so people can actually see i'm such a chronic sloucher yes kathleen it's lighter than chocolate icing yes it's a little bit lighter because the base is an eight like i said um the base on the chocolate icing is a six and the base here on the coco swirl is an eight so it is kind of like the difference if you're used to other brands colorations it's kind of like the difference between um like the amaretto and cream from envy or like the chocolate frost from noriko and like the java frost maybe um i mean but none of these colors are exact doppelgangers for each other but it's a little bit lighter um you know the medium brown by um envy is is gonna have a actually that's gonna be warmer than this but um definitely more in the chocolate brown family than the chocolate icing which has um like a definitely cooler tone to it so yeah that's about it i think that's it for this particular livestream are there any topics related to um beauty standards that we should pay attention to for maybe a follow-up live stream or something like that like i'm i'm interested in perhaps doing this here on the main channel about once a week um if that's something that you're interested in let me know in the comments uh particularly on the replay if it when the replay video goes up if you leave a comment on there you know that would be very very helpful to us it helps us uh show the youtube algorithm that people like this content and that it should show some of our subscribers the content you know right now that's that's the name of the game is just getting my subscribers to get notifications that that we made content because as i mentioned in yesterday's live stream uh youtube has really stopped doing a lot of that on behalf of content creators and now we really have to just put it out there like hey we we need we need to um know what your interests are more specifically so we can better craft this content to make sure that you absolutely can't stand to miss it so i guess it's it's got a benefit to it right like it forces us to to do that extra work and figure out what it is that you want but also means that you know in my case i'm really bad at inferring that stuff i'd rather just ask you what what can we do to you know bring you content that you would like to see here on a weekly basis in a live stream format let us know that upvote on each other's recommendations if possible and that way the cream will rise to the top they'll sort by top comments um other than that i'm pretty much done i want to take this look outside and take some photos but i just want to show you that there's no there's no creasing no caking and hopefully at some point i can figure out how to hook up the phone camera because it's much more hd and then hopefully maybe you can see even more that site i take a lot of pride in the fact that this looks pretty pretty good and i think you missed some of that when the the camera doesn't pick it up okay then all right well i'm gonna put you back on the screen honey all righty can you turn your camera on there there we go okay so i just want to say goodnight everybody and you look like you're about to do surgery like a surgeon hey cut your phone the very first time okay uh i love you guys we will see you on saturday hopefully at 6 00 pm and uh have a wonderful weekend until then yeah thanks for dropping by and sharing some time with us bye everybody
