hello I hope you're all doing well this video is gonna be all about worker optimization to start this off I have two small weddings for you in the first battle I have two Goblin workers that I could send to this node at Trent if you compare the stats they seem pretty similar right but there is a big difference between them one of the workers completes the note in about 30 minutes while the other one takes 20 minutes how can that be we'll get to the answer later but first let me post a second riddle for the second riddle we look at the distance workers have to work to get to this node Stone tail Restland I have one worker coming from tariff and the other one from itinova and on the map it looks like they're about the same distance to the node but if you look at the distance on the Node you'll see that the worker coming from alginova has to walk almost twice as long as the worker coming from tariff how come to understand the solution to these riddles we're gonna have to understand the fundamentals of bdo's worker system and grasping these mechanics will give us everything we need to know to optimize our workers to yield the most resources per day I'll try to walk you through everything in a nice and easy to grasp manner but it still helps if you have some basic understanding of the worker system so let's begin by looking at which kinds of workers they are first of all we got different grades of workers from naive to Skilled to Artisan and if we're talking optimization then the one we want to focus on are The Artisans and if you're not at a point yet where you have Artisan workers no big deal there are different ways to get them and I go over that in one of my other videos so that's the grades but there are also different types of workers we've got goblins Giants and humans they all have their special traits goblins have high work speed and movement speed Giants work and move slower but to make up for it they have an inbuilt resource bonus of 68 humans are also on the slower side but I have a high luck stat and to optimize our workers we need to understand what these stats do so I want to do a deep dive on each of those stats starting with work speed workspeed is by far the most important start and to understand how it works let's look at to a trend workers again so let's look at the stats again and this time focus on the work speed the first worker has a 150 work speed the second one about 145 that's a small difference but definitely not enough to explain this huge difference in work time I mean worker 1 is about 50 faster so clearly this can't be everything there is to this so let's look at the second important thing in the workload and this node has a workload of 300 so how the heck do we get from 300 workload and these work speeds to the work times of 20 and 30 minutes well the solution to the riddle is that workload is divided into cycles each Cycle takes 10 minutes for the first worker having 150 work speed needs two cycles to knock out this 300 workload the second worker has slightly below 150 work speed so if we divide 300 by 145 you will get two over the remainder and that remainder gets rounded up to 3 by the game so the first record takes two cycles 2 times 10 is 20 minutes and the second worker needs three Cycles so 3 times 10 30 minutes by the way you'll see that it's not exactly 30 minutes and the difference comes from the travel time which we'll get to it later and you can already see here that at least for this node a 150 workspeed is an important breakpoint because it lets the worker complete the node and one less cycle the next relevant breakpoint for this note would be 100 work speed so a worker with 100 work speed can 3 cycle this node and this is for example relevant to humans and Giants they can never reach 150 work speed but I can reach 100 work speed so the big breakpoints you want to keep in mind are 150 work speed for goblins and 100 work speed for Giants and humans now it has one more interesting bit of information I can give you on the workload it's one of those things that really not a lot of people know and after watching this video You're gonna be one of those smart people each note has a minimum and a maximum workload and the exact workload depends on how many people are having workers on this note this works similar to phishing resources where if many people fish at a certain area then the resources get depleted and you can actually check the worker resources on the map if you go to the territory resource information you'll see that there are up to three bars the first one in green shows the worker resources the second and Bluer is the fishing resources and the third one is not used by the game as far as I know and it's just for cities and you can see here that the worker resources are almost 100 depleted if the worker resources are depleted you can see the workload is at its maximum that's around 400 here the maximum workload is always double the minimum and the minimum would be 200 in this case by the way you can look up the minimum at the maximum workload for each node on the workermine website so now you might say okay this is cool but what do I get from this and the truth is for the popular notes that many people have this is not going to be all that interesting because those notes are always going to be sitting at the maximum workload but the less popular nodes tend to sit at maximum resources as you can see here for the nodes in Valencia entrance so this node right here is basically at the minimum workload right you can see 150 workload that's incredibly low so if you know about this resource system you can identify nodes that might not seem that great on paper because they are so expensive but the low workload makes them really strong just keep in mind that the workload of nodes naturally fluctuates throughout the day this node usually hangs around between 150 and 155 and the workload can change within minutes and the other thing is that obviously once more people start picking this node up then the workload will increase rapidly so keep in mind that when you're optimizing workers for these low workload nodes you're basically banking on the fact that it's not going to become more popular anytime soon but as of right now if I put a worker with 150 work speed maybe plus a bit of leeway on this node I can one cycle it so that's 10 minutes of work time and the other nine minutes are just pure travel time so the total work time has two factors first the actual work time and the second the travel time and as you can see for the notes that are farther from town a large portion of the actual work time will be taken up by the travel time so for notes that are really far out that's where the goblins really start to shine due to their High movement speed now about the riddle from the beginning why the heck does the ID Nova worker have to work so much longer to this node than the Tariff worker if you look at the map then in terms of straight line distance they're about the same another theory could be that the workers walk along the node connection but if you look at these connections you'll see that both of these workers share most of their path so what is going on here the solution to this weather is that the workers don't magically fly to the node through the air they actually have to walk on the roads similar to how my character would work if I was to set an out of her and you can see here on the way to altonova there are all of these serpentines making the distance much longer right if we compare that to the way to tariff that's basically a straight line so the map is not the best indicator when it comes to judging the distance to the note and what you can do is actually check the distance on the Note itself so if I select an ardinova worker I see the distance from it Nova and here I see the distance to tariff alright and that about covers the second important workers that movement speed now on to the third and by far the most misunderstood luck there has been a lot of confusion about worker luck and I want to be very clear about what it does and what it doesn't do so first of all if you look at Material story here you notice these sacks so these are dedicated lucky drops of the notes here I've got the farmer sir coming from farming nodes and a minor sack coming from mining nodes each different kind of node has their own Lucky Draw oftentimes there are these sacks for some reason numbering notes have the random three stuff as lucky drops in terms of mechanics it's refreshingly simple at least for BDO and this workout right here has 23 lakh so he has a 23 chance to get the lucky drop each time he completes a task humans have the highest luck and then goblins and Giants have about half of that what humans have now one important thing about these lucky drops you'll see they don't appear on the Note UI and you can look them up on external sites for example they are listed on worker man but what's really important to understand is that the items that luck effect don't show up on this worker UI with very few exceptions so even though intuitively you might think that on this Timber node for example the sap would be the lucky drop is actually not it's treated as a common drop just as the Timber and the lucky drop of this note is the tree stuff that is shared by all Timber nodes a few other notes people get confused on are Opals so in this case here Opel is another lucky drop is just a regular drop this is a mining note So the lucky drop is gonna be the minor sack and last one the excavation notes so even though the crystals are very rare then not the lucky drop of the note this excavation node just like any excavation node has the archaeologist sag as a dedicated lucky drop so putting a worker with high luck and this note would not get you more of the crystals what you want in this case is actually a worker with high work speed who can complete the node faster like the goblin type hey editing summer here I want to add a small disclaimer and this was brought up when I gave this video into fact checking what I said about the land of the Morning Light notes is based on our current understanding of work on luck and it is possible that the deaths somehow decided to make these crystals be affected by luck but there isn't any hard data to be conclusive here that's just because testing a drop rate on these crystals would require an incredible amount of data since these crystals are so rare so please take what I said with a grain of salt now to close this off I want to show you a few special snowflake nodes that have their own unique lucky drug the so-called production notes so that's all the notes with this icon those notes for some reason have the regular loot table mirrored and the lucky loot table so if you get a lucky pack on this node you will get a double batch of chicken meat and eggs but I don't want to get your hopes up if you do the math than a goblin and a giant are gonna way outperform any black bonus that a human may have on this note so I hope I got my point across and I will say that if you're specifically interested in those lucky drops then it can make sense to put humans on these notes just keep in mind there are goblins with their High work speed or Giants but their resource bonus are often gonna bring in more overall money even though they get less of the lucky blocks alright now that we have a good understanding of the three main stats work speed movement speed and luck let's talk about how we can create the optimal worker and as I mentioned there earlier out of those by far the most important start is the work speed where we want to hit those work speed brackets so how can we hit those work speed records in other words how can we increase our Walker stats now there are two options first of all as workers level up they will naturally gains that increases on each level This Is Random so some of your workers are going to be absolute gems and some are gonna be complete potatoes that's just how it is but even a potato can become a good worker if he has good skills workers start out with one skill at level 1 and then roll one more every five levels up until Level 40 where they get the guaranteed delivery skill and here I put all of these skills that increase work speed on screen you can see it goes all the way from plus one work speed to plus five that's Farm knowledge the big jackpot now one thing to keep in mind is that the stat bonuses from skills don't get added to the seed stats of the worker so you can see here on sheet my worker has 145 work speed and to see the work speed include shooting skills we have to look at the menu where you send a worker to the node you can see here he gets plus three from skills for a total of 148 work speed so you always want to check what your work speed is including skills the one exception to that is skills that get bony on level up so the success for all of the three stats here's the one for workspeed called craftsmanship you see you get point to work speed on level up that means if you manage to roll this skill at level 1 the worker is gonna be pretty good and this gets added directly onto the base stats which also means that once the worker is at max level level 40 you can roll this off and keep the stats rolling skills works like this the worker needs to be at least level 30 and have 20 exp because that's how much it costs to re-roll a skill you can check the XP on the worker menu next to the level to reroll a skill you want to cancel the task and then click on this pickaxe icon here and here you can select which skill to reroll so you can just select a skill press confirm just randomly pick a skill that the broker doesn't yet have so over time you can basically cherry pick your perfect skills and I will probably wait till level 40 would be running skills just so that the worker has the maximum stats he can get before you try to optimize the stats now the question is of course which skills should we aim for and priority number one here is the work speed as we talked about earlier in the video there are these workload records and then once you hit that bracket we actually don't want any more work speed because it's gonna do absolutely nothing so that's where we can look into the other skills for example movement speed and luck so you can see here he's already got a few movement speed and luck skills and at that point the goal would be to retain his 150 work speed so keep the skills he needs for that and roll of all of the other skills into movement speed and luck but I will say this is getting into the ultra Min maxing and like you can you can maybe expect a few percentage point of efficiency here now knowing all of that you could basically sit down and figure out the best possible worker for each note but that's gonna involve a bunch of boring maths so I'm just gonna point you to the Walker man tool here you can simply see how the different workers compare if you hover over the worker icon so for example you can see here on the lumbar Jack's rest node it assumes we have the maximum workload of 300 then the giant is going to be ever so slightly better than the Goblin and they're both gonna way outperform the human now the important thing here is that this assumes optimal workers so given this 300 workload node an optimal giant would have above 100 work speed and the optimal Goblin above 150 and that's gonna all get meshed together with the giant bonus at the lucky docks and all of that and at the end you get the breakdown of all all the different workers compare in any case I hope you enjoyed this deep dive into the worker system this has been a video I've wanted to make for the longest time but I just wasn't sure if there's going to be much of an audience for it but I think at least some people are gonna be as interested as me in this kind of stuff if you noticed anything I forgot or got wrong then please point it out in the comments so other people can see it in any case I'll see you in a future video take care this is ridiculous
