Adults Get Braces For 48 Hrs • Re-Do

hey guys just wanted to let you know that this episode was filmed before we started practicing social distancing but we are back and we hope you enjoy this episode braces you're crying oh my god oh you got braces oh i was shocked this is the real dealio [Music] hi i'm jasmine and i'm lindsay and this is redo where we go back to high school and try not to make the same mistakes twice this time we're getting braces for 48 hours i had braces from fourth grade to sixth grade my teeth before i had braces were like so split in front that you could fit two forks in between them so you tried that i did try that and you know what now i wish i still had that gap yeah because it's like high fat it's a mood i could be on a runway somewhere i've never had braces i had an expander and i remember having to lay on the couch and my mom took a key and would turn it a key oh it was a key it hurt that sounds medieval so we're gonna have to wear these braces for 48 hours and follow all the rules from our orthodontist wait who's our orthodontist welcome to the tooth palace my name is dr allsup wizard of teeth braces terrifying but helpful in order to get the best out of your braces we need to lay down some ground rules rule number one you have to wear your braces for 48 hours straight even when you sleep when we sleep yes you can't take your braces off when you sleep that's not normal for a teen you don't just pop them out rule number two is you must brush properly twice a day and floss at least once a day proper brushing technique includes holding your toothbrush at a 45 degree angle brushing for at least two to three minutes oh i remember i had like a little traveling toothbrush and you would have to like bring it to lunch and be like um miss i have to go brush my teeth because of my braces rule number three foods you must avoid sugary or starchy foods sticky foods harder crunchy foods and bagels watch out for bagels i know that from personal experience you couldn't eat popcorn i did you couldn't eat gummies i did other complications may include and i'll be watching as every orthodontist does watching their patients let's have fun as long as we follow the rules i'm scared for everything i've never done this before i don't know what it looks like i'm excited why it'll be so good you're gonna look so young i already do you already look poor yeah so we went all the way to a special effects place in the valley yes to get some molds done all right it's time we're here ready to get our braces the guy had on the cat apron oh yeah the caddy burn was so good also they did the braces for ugly betty yeah which is so fun so we knew these were going to be good well that sort of looks like butt teeth oh it really does when you first get your braces on they have to like do this mold of your teeth or something and i remember literally gagging on the stuff that they put in your mouth it is terrible that's a beautiful mouth we got to pick out our colors for our braces i chose blue and i chose purple did you change them for occasions yes really you had an easter ones you had halloween ones fourth of july ones well now that i'm gay i probably was then too but i would have had rainbow good morning it's brace's day all my dreams last night were in the form of tick tocks this is the beginning of me turning into a teen the hard part is having to pick out my outfit for today i got purple braces but now that i'm thinking about i'm like i don't have a lot of things that'll match purple so it's gonna be kind of hard so i'm wearing these pants and this shirt i think it's my little like nod to 2000s look i think this will look cute with some braces and picking an outfit i thought i'd lean in a little bit to my youth so i'm going with an overall look anyway i don't want to be late i'll see you at my orthodontist appointment all right here we are we're gonna put on your braces got your name on it wow look at that that's something else when i saw mine for the first time i was shocked they look so real they looked more real than i ever expected them i thought they were going to be like obvious yeah this is the real dealio this is nice and wet oh wow they don't look the whitest yeah your teeth are going to look pretty dirty all right you want it please stand still cry hey oh my gosh you look too oh no they are not cute you know jazz was like hyping me up like you're gonna look so cute and then i look at myself and i don't look cute you're next i'm used to being ugly you're not you know the nice purple oh here you go oh wow oh it just popped right in there oh my god yours looks so real whoa oh my gosh i love it why does yours look so good i'm living my prime i felt so bad for you yeah i think it's just because i'm just like a potato it's a cute thing oh yeah you don't get it all right well uh now that you guys got your braces on i have some goodie bags for you oh got a toothbrush toothpaste and some gum wax remember brush at a 45 degree angle let's all demonstrate that 45 degrees no no for 40. so now we have the braces the 48 hours begins yay feels like we get to rewrite our teenage years where we're friends yeah cause we weren't friends when we were teased like you could do paper trading braces friends ew it just so happens that on our braces day it's school picture day it's lucky us you ready yeah you're meant for this moment you really am oh hers look really really really good oh my god yes oh this is so cute oh wait i love that you need like a heart sharpie i know since i've had braces i know how it feels and it felt like i had braces again it felt like your teeth were gonna move like this was going to fix that yes oh you got braces oh let's go oh when we walked in the office people thought we had gotten braces oh are those real also interesting choice why didn't you get invisalign how do you like it i hate it okay do your thing girl whatever makes you happy why does it look cool on you this isn't rare oh you're so cute when i was talking to people i started putting my hand over my mouth like i couldn't just talk to them that's a real ass thing though when you first get braces you're like i just everyone keeps saying i have a list but it's really making me self-conscious your voice sounds spitty and i don't want people to think that i'm spitting on them because i'm not it's lunch time what are you gonna eat i'm gonna go softer for this okay so i think i'm gonna get like pancakes and eggs that's a good idea i only get one thing here and that's a salad oh god a salad that's hard foods it might get stuck in your tea i'm gonna rescab oh okay it was hard though eating with those things yeah it was hard i'd have to move it to the side jazz just told me my lip is bleeding and it is my lips are dry and it keeps hitting it you put the gum wax like right here so when your lip like hits it it'll hit the wax instead of the bracket okay so it is after lunch and i have to brush my teeth i brush the rubber band off all right two minutes later and they are shiny i feel like they look better than they were before and then we came back and we were like let's make the best of this awkward moment and put it on our instagram stories that we have braces now yep i'm just gonna pose like everything's normal and then just yeah you know so i got a lot of good responses from the videos and i had people messaging me to send them the video because it made them so happy yeah it was cute so i didn't get a lot of messages saying anything because i don't think people watched all the way through the video i was just shocked that no one thought it was a big deal how did they look they're all right hi guys welcome to my channel today i'm going to be talking about my period eww okay anyways i'm having a blast honestly adults have braces it's not so weird that we've never seen an adult with braces but now we're just in the time where like people have invisalign i think it's cute i got mediterranean food which i probably shouldn't because there's rice involved and i feel like it'll get all up in there you know i don't want to stop my life from continuing just because of these so i can brush later wow these slices are huge i hate this i did not take out my braces once except for when i had to brush my normal teeth i didn't feel like that would be gross if i did not take them out we need to address this yeah you look young you see kids every day every day do kids have braces some kids do have braces no because that you can tell most kids have those braces yeah my experience but i guess if they're invisalign i wouldn't you don't know oh you're still special no matter what day one of having braces has almost come to an end today was rough i kind of like hid myself a lot like i bled today and like i feel sore and i could easily take them out but i'm not going to i'm going to live out this challenge because we were tasked to not take out these braces for an entire 48 hours that meant we had to sleep with them in good morning i got him in still i used to wear a night guard when i slept because i used to like grind my teeth when i slept so it doesn't feel too different than that my mouth is super dry and i can just feel it like getting sore so i don't know i need to put vaseline on my lips or something good morning i think i might not do my makeup for work really lean into this like very adolescent to very child look yesterday eating that pizza was not good so smoothie it is not stuck in my teeth i wanted to stick with like you know cool tones i'm wearing purple so i went with a little casual look i dressed like a beefy little weightlifting boy in like a little jumpsuit weightlifting points i felt like a venice beach boy i decided to dress myself in a more cool vibe so just to like offset the braces a little bit just see if they work with like a cool chill look you know honestly i'm feeling really good today this morning i like my outfit i'm not thinking about them being in my teeth as much i think my goal for myself today is to just stop talking to people with my hand over my mouth because i do that so much i'm going to go into today with a more positive attitude i'm going to stunt hello you in a cutoff is new i know i like it thanks lighting in here is so fresh i had it installed okay it doesn't hurt as much anymore that's good but i'm just embracing it today you know embrace embracing it i know it was a thing for like people to make fun of people with yeah yeah 100 but it was nothing i was ever worried about just because i was just like i'm fixing my teeth and i also had like a revelation of like i honestly feel bad about like how i was acting yesterday because it was like i just was so insecure about it it shouldn't impact my life that much except for the fact that they hurt all right we're at the dyna vagina we did eat foods that were hard and crunchy but not the hardest and the crunchiest though we could have had worse things yes and did doctor also catch us doing those things nope it keeps on getting stuck i got some food in my teeth but i'm using my lemonade to get it out you know or brush my teeth later because my first day instagram photo did not get really any feedback engagement engagement i posted another photo just straight up you can see them right away you can't miss it oh someone says part of the brace face squad okay but why is this such a look i'm low-key obsessed oh that's nice people are literally just saying is this for a video and you look good love that energy love the positivity we had our first meeting together with braces yeah a lot of talking we were kind of running the meeting so it was like important that we'd yeah enunciated i felt like i was getting real intense about stuff and then like talking with a lisp also yeah which i was like this ain't slowing me down you know at the end of the day no one cares the meeting went fine yeah i think people took us seriously yeah it's that time again doctor also told us we have to brush our teeth at least twice a day and i'm definitely brushing my teeth way more than that so we've been wearing these braces pretty much around the office people know us whatever but we decided to experiment and go out with adults in the areas of where people don't know us and we're just like two girls with braces hanging out with each other something i've never experienced before something you've never known yeah i wasn't going out at fourth grade jazz and i are gonna go out on the town so we've gotten all dressed up i just put on what i felt like putting on the braces are just along for the ride i'm feeling fresh i'm feeling flirty oh god i feel like i just spit so i was having a hard time figuring out what i was gonna wear i feel like i've been dressing really young and this like ballerina outfit after practice isn't helping but it's a cute look what if they card me i never get carded oh things i'm worried about tonight one getting carded i look 12. two i'm not gonna bring my toothbrush with me i don't want to like be in a night place bar wherever and have to brush my teeth in it i just don't want to deal with it you know am i gonna regret it we'll see but you know what i got my best friend by my side i don't know let's do this oh so they didn't card we did not get carded cheers it was really cute it was really fun we immediately started just ordering tons of stuff on the menu and also they gave us just carrots and celery just right off the bat these will bust our brackets off bust them soju though that goes down real easy nothing to chew there we drank a lot things got a little wild oh yes [Music] going out with jasmine tonight was so much fun we had just as much fun as we normally would without braces as we did with them no one said anything at the restaurant no one cares that we have braces except us we made it we're here we made it through let's do it let's do it i don't want you to see here yay they feel they are weird yeah i do have appreciation for people with braces especially if you're an adult oh my gosh yeah that is a lot to deal with but you know what your teeth are gonna look fabulous fix your teeth or guess what you don't even have to fix your teeth because that's okay too just because your teeth aren't treated doesn't mean your teeth don't function exactly the dentist is telling me now that i qualify for invisalign because these two teeth are crowding and i'm like girl no one's seeing them we're gonna stay crowded we're gonna stay crowded this is what the teens do still right i don't know part of my brand [Music] okay you
