Acting Like God Would Act

Charles Capps said that faith is simply acting as God would act if he were in your situation he said the Bible method is to call the things that are not manifest and keep calling them until they are manifest and that caps is here with me today let's learn how to act like God would act welcome to faith builders you are in for such a treat today we have Annette Capps from Capps ministries and she is here and we're talking about the newest book release that they have just put out calling things that are not this is from the teachings that brother Capps has done about the calling things that are not and I want to tell you it's one of the first cassette tapes I ever got when as a believer and it changed my life and I want you to welcome to the program with me today and that cap she's here with us again and we're going to talk more about the revelation in this mini book thank you for being here Annette thank you for inviting me this is an exciting subject it really is and it's changed my life and I know so many other people's lives are changed I want everybody to have a copy of this book because I really believe in this teaching and what it has done for me so thank you for being here to talk with me about it and today we're going to talk about acting like God would act if he were in your situation I often heard your dad make this statement that people would come up and say oh you're just trying to act like God and he would respond by saying well thank you he would rather be acting like God than acting like the devil yes if I'm acting like God saying what God would say then who are you acting like if you're saying what the devil is saying about graduation absolutely but this is a concept of that is even though a lot of there are a lot of people who are believers that aren't quite sure about this concept of calling those things although it was something that Jesus taught about that Jesus showed us how to operate and it is so prevalent in the Word of God and today I want to make it prevalent in the hearts of everybody so tell us a little bit about this concept of calling things that are not well the spiritual principle of calling things that are not as though they are or were goes from Genesis to Revelation I mean it encompasses the entire Bible yes you want to start with Genesis chapter 1 verse 1 in the beginning you know God created the heavens and earth it says the earth was without form and void darkness was upon the face of the deep and if God was a good Christian he would said oh it's dark it's dark it's dark it's getting darker it can't get any darker it's awful it's dark no God said when faced with the darkness he said light be yes and light was yes and light continues to be yes it didn't stop so there we have beginning in Genesis and then Jesus taught us when actually he teaches us through the word but he taught his disciples that I'll take for instance the sick of mine tree yes he said if you had faith as a seed just a seed of faith you would say to the sick of mine tree be plucked up be planted in the sea and it would obey you yes he said things will obey words that's a startling revelation to some people they don't believe it all that doesn't work I don't believe that kind of stuff and then they turn around they go out there and their car has it flat and they start kicking it this stupid car it never worked right it'll probably fall apart before I get it paid for they're talking to things all the time yeah and they're saying bad stuff and guess what they have a wreck they tear the car up the car falls apart and then they just they say see I told you they're prophesying their own defeat yes and yet they don't believe in it and then they go out the back door and say I don't believe in this calling things that that don't exist I don't believe that I don't believe it that's not right and they go out the back door and they look for the dog can't find their dog they start whistling you know here a bunch come on where are you there what are they doing the dogs not there my dad uses this in this book and this that's the biggest illustration everyone remembers yeah if you want the dog you call it dog yes you can't just stand around going oh the dogs not here I don't know where the dog is no you call the dog and then the dog comes yes if you want the dog you call for the dogs you want the cat you call for the cat but you don't just sit there and say they're not here they're not here how do you expect to ever receive what you're calling for if you don't call for what you desire that's right instead people are speaking what exists you know that's just the way it is that's just the way it is we'll always be poor we'll always be sick and we'll die an early death and guess what they probably will because they've said it they've established it they believe it and they believe it that's the scary part yeah if you really people say oh well I didn't really mean that you know I was just kidding I didn't really mean that when I said I guess I'll die if I don't get this I didn't really mean that well you know my dad would go into many different ways to explain this but I want to explain this people today that in a way that they really get if you get on your computer or your smartphone and you google something an amazing google is a verb you do it and you spit in you start to to put in something like you want to look for a new refrigerator so you put find REE and you end up putting in something like rename we'll get what the refrigerator is not going to come up no have you ever had that happen oh we know what you mean is really refrigerator Owen Google knows what you mean it will pull up the right thing no it will not you put in find refrigerator new refrigerator good prices on refrigerator and you don't spell refrigerator you put rename our refrain you're not going to get refrigerator it's going to pull up something completely different it will because when you're putting it in Google you're calling for information you're calling for calling and you're putting it it was you're putting it in there and you're calling for is going to bring it up now if you do it appropriately and you say what you really really really mean and you say find cheap refrigerators or fine refrigerator with ice maker and you spell refrigerator and you say what you really meant you're going to have pages and pages and pages of pictures and pictures of refrigerators yes because you called for what you want so don't tell me that oh well I didn't really mean that when I said I was going to die early I didn't mean it when I said I was going to be sick and I the flu is going around I'll be the first one to catch it I didn't really mean that you just googled it that's a good and you're going to get and that's a present-day illustration that is present-day and everybody can understand that and it's not just about positive confession or negative confession it's about the method God has chosen acting like God would act God according to Romans 4:17 he is a God who calls things that be not as though they were he calls things that are not yet in manifestation as though they already were in manifestation he is not a God who calls things like he sees it he's not a God who calls things like it appears to be he is a God who brings into manifestation through the process of faith calling those things that be not be is a state of condition a condition of that life he calls it as though it were and so he said to Abraham you are the father of many nations I have made you past tense I have made you the father of many nations so we're not just talking about oh it's just positive confession we're talking about this is the method God has chosen to bring things into manifestation that people are praying for they need it they want it and they're saying God please help me how God please change this and God has given us a method of calling those things which be not as though they were and so that's what your dad would respond when people would say you're just trying to act like God and he would say I want to act like God would act he said faith is sin acting like God would act if he were in my situation and so this this book is so important because it has those practical illustrations it takes from the Word of God and it's it's this is not a book that that is going to lead a person away from the Word of God it is full of God's scriptures it's full of the word of God and and practical examples that a lot of times people have never equated and put together with this concept yes like I said calling the dog calling the cat googling something that's just another way of explaining the spiritual principle of calling for what does not exist you know God has provided these things for us yes I mean we're told in the Word of God that Jesus came that we might have life and have life more abundantly when Jesus was here on earth it said that he went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil for God was with him Jesus did not destroy the works of God if God was making people sick Jesus would have been destroying the works of his father right that doesn't make any sense so you have to be really convinced that the Word of God is true and that God has already provided these things for you it is not God's will for you to suffer it is not God's will for you to die an early death to speak words that will defeat yourself defeat your family it is not the will of God for you to be sick broke unhappy miserable the Word of God plainly teaches these things and so if you have any doubt in your mind you need to study the Word of God and see what Jesus did when he was here on earth yes because he provided healing every time he never said to one person that came to him oh no no it's not your time to be healed no it's the will of God for you to suffer a little longer no that never happened all this religious talk I call it from certain people about well it's just not God's will God doesn't want you well God doesn't want you to be out of debt that's just not the will of God they haven't read the Bible they haven't understood our Father I haven't understood the person of Jesus who was the manifestation of God here on the earth yes and now his Spirit is within us and so the Holy Spirit will guide us to the Scriptures and show us that we can be convinced that those things that we desire are truly within God's will to provide for us yes and then we have the ability through the Holy Spirit to be reminded of things to be given certain ideas that maybe we haven't had before for instance there was a time when I was really fighting them a physical ailment and I kept praying Lord I believe your word says that I am whole I sit in the realm of the Spirit I am whole and I appropriate that wholeness for my body now and yet I kept you know I kept leaving it stay said I didn't around so oh yeah well I guess I'm sick I'll let it stay said and then finally one day the Holy Spirit pointed out something to me that something that I was ingesting every day and I quit that and it went away they see the Holy Spirit will show us avenues to take to get to that healing or to get to that paying off of debts or to get peace in the family yes if we listen to the Holy Spirit when we read the word of God and we find out that God spoke to Abraham and he didn't say oh boy it's really too bad you didn't have children because I could have made a great nation out of you you know this is really too bad this worked out this way ya know he just went ahead and named him Abraham father of Nations yes this is the way it's going to be and there are people there watching this program today and they are in dire need and you know what you need to do you need to take it back yes take it back in the name of Jesus take back your healing take back what's been stolen from you in the name of Jesus now I'm talking about spiritually grab ahold of it and say in the name of Jesus God has provided for me God has healed Hilde me because it says with the stripes of Jesus I am healed and I take my health back I take my business back that's good I take the word and I take everything back that belongs to me yes yeah and I call it I call it yeah there was a time in our ministry that we we had a situation where the money wasn't coming in and we're supporting television radio you know what that's like and you know the first thing that happens is the darts of the enemy start you worrying you know what are we going to do I said I know what I'm going to do I'm taking it back in the name of Jesus I'm taking it back God God has abundance God has no shortage of anything he has no shortage of love you're missing love in your life you feel unworthy you feel unloved God has abundance of love God has abundance of all and so by taking a spiritual principle in the Word of God from Genesis revelation how many different times did Jesus teach us to call things that are not he was in the boat with the disciples and the storm raged about him he was asleep and the disciples woke him up and said master don't you even care we're about to drown we're going to die and Jesus stood out zoom you know what they said peace be still he spoke to the wind and the waves there was no peace they were sinking the wind was blowing yes and so what did he say oh the wind is horrible it's going to kill us no that's what some people would say you have to say you have to say it like it is Jesus didn't say it is he said peace be still yes an immediate calm came yes speak peace to your circumstances what about the lepers that came to him Jesus didn't put his hand on them and say oh you know okay you're instantly healed he said go show yourself to the priest why would they go show themselves to the priest a leper can't go to the priests and show himself unless he's well and they were not well yet but they stepped out by faith and called themselves whole even though they were still lepers by heading to go show themselves to the priest that action of faith yeah and it says as they went they were healed they were healed call it as though it already exists Jesus said okay go show yourself to the priest yet it didn't look like it again that's where we go back and we say put it in the GPS what it is now let me bring up something really a short term here but a lot of people where they miss it on this the calling things that are not they start calling what doesn't exist but they get so specific about what they're doing you're calling for wholeness yes you don't call specifically about how you're going to be healed you just call for wholeness in whatever manner it comes as somebody for you it came in the wisdom of something that you were eating that was causing yes but if it would have said Lord bring if the person was saying Lord bring me the medicine or bring me the medicine that way or me or bring me a doctor that will heal me yeah no you call for wholeness and then you say open to the holy spirit and whatever manner he brings that my mother had a liver transplant she was dying she was dying and she would not have a transplant she kept saying gods I believe God I believe God I believe God and yet God provided that liver for her and she's lived another I think almost thirty years twenty something years she was God is amazing but they also people will say well I want my business to succeed and so I'm saying that God's going to do this for my business I'm going to call this one customer is going to become our customer I'm going to make us a lot of money and so they're specific about that customer well what if you cut bring that customer and you say it you believe it you call it and you get that customer and that there were hundreds of other customers you could have had but you focused on that one why not just focus on my business prospers yes I call it I call my business prosperous yeah instead of saying focusing on strange individual things like some of the young ladies I know that say I want you to agree with me I'm claiming so-and-so for my husband what if so-and-so doesn't want be your husband and what if so-and-so is not the right one for you right you're specific you're calling that thing and yet what you should be calling is Lord I desire to be married and I call the right person into my life yes the one that's divinely ordained of God I call that person I'm not calling this one I'm not calling that one I am calling God's divine will into my life and I call that person they're coming there if they will find me we will find each other that's the way you do that you don't start naming people and you don't start naming how God's going to meet those needs you just call the end result which is life wholeness health blessing prosperity peace one of the other things that is brought out in the book is not to calling things that are not is not calling things that are as though they're not like you brought out in the beginning God didn't say it's so dark out here well a lot of people would say that and and say well it's not dark it's not dark it's not dark it's not dark or I'm not sick I'm not sick I'm not sick in the same way of what you're saying is call for the wholeness call for what's promised to you it's not denying the symptoms or denying the sickness or saying I'm not broke I'm not broke there's no power in that it's saying I am prosperous because God said when I give it shall be given unto me or I'm blessed because God said that I'm blessed going in coming out in the field the city the country the storehouse the basket or I am the heel to the Lord because by His stripes I'm healed it's not negating the symptom or the circumstance and it's not used trying to use your faith to manipulate and say one certain way that it's going to happen right so there's a lot of accuracy that is brought out here in this book to help us stay on track things that that your dad learned through all of the years of him you know gaining these truths and being able to walk in them and you know what we're here talking to you about today is something that is available for every believer every believer has the ability to walk in this power of calling those things that are not God wants it for you he's given you these promises but maybe you're watching me today and you say I don't know Jesus I don't know how these things could operate in my life and I want to give you an opportunity to receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and your Savior because these things belong to us as believers and He desires for you to have this available to you to if you're watching me today I just want you to open your heart and pray right now and say Jesus I believe that you died on the cross to pay for my sin I believe that you died in my place and I believe that your blood cleanses and washes me and today I receive you as my Lord and my Savior God I believe you raised Jesus from the dead and today I apply that blood I received that blood to cleanse me of every sin and make me new Jesus be my Lord the Bible says if you believe in your heart that God has raised Jesus from the dead and you confess with your mouth that he's the lord of your life that you shall be saved and that salvation includes his provision his supply for your life a spiritual supply of wisdom a spiritual supply of the Holy Spirit to lead you and to guide you and a supply of his word to equip you to take the situations that are in your life and see them changed for his glory to take God's will and implant it into that place where the enemy has come to steal and to kill and to destroy God wants you to have life and he wants you to have a bun dn't overflowing
