hey guys good morning i'm very happy you are here i'm Rinske Douna and today is going to be a little bit of a different video i will show you acrylic painting tricks and techniques you really must know if you're painting abstract or just painting it's all about knowledge and knowing what medium or what tools you want to use so i'm getting a lot of questions about how do you start on a blank Canvas for me that's one of the most fun things to do because i have no clue what i will create i indulge myself with knowledge really i watch a lot of videos and follow classes so when i see a painting on pinterest or instagram i don't look at the painting like oh it's beautiful but i really try to dissect it you know what layers did they use where did they start what kind of colors was it blending you know those kind of things and that's why i love skillshare because skillshare is a platform by creatives for creatives so they have a lot of classes on there and i love to follow their classes so i recently saw a painting on pinterest and i thought it was a sort of alcohol ink painting and i really needed to know how they did a certain part so i searched on skillshare and i followed the class the basics of alcohol inc by alisson gometz and yeah it was funny because while following the class it clicked now i know how they do that i'm not using alcohol inks but i just want to know these things so if you find that interesting as well i have a link in the description and the first thousand people that click that link will get a free trial of skillshare premium so check it out and i'm gonna start creating those acrylic painting techniques and tricks okay so i'm gonna start off with the technique that i use regularly in my reflection series so i'm calling it the reflection as well so we all know the palette knife and i'm gonna take my palette knife and put some colors on there and i'm cleaning it while i'm using different colors that's not very exciting yet but the reflection is super nice let's take some white as well okay so i have a couple of colors on there and then i have this little spray bottle so what i will do is i will tilt this up and then on the half of this i will spray water all right there you have it okay so for this next technique the circle drips i need a cup or something else that's around sometimes i i use pots and i'm just gonna load my brush with a color and i'm gonna paint on this you can use different colors in between of course you know maybe that would be nice to do as well okay you can load it up as much as you want of course and just put it on the Canvas first but you can go hard like that and what i like is that it has some definition somewhere so i will take my liquid paint so just my acrylic pour paint and i have this in this bottle so what i can do now is just put some there then tilt this up and let that flow now you can let it you can use as much as you want of course and let it dry and retouch the circle as well this can give a nice effect all right the color scrape so what i will do is i will just put some colors on there and it doesn't matter if they're hard body soft body liquid paint i have here some liquid paint so let me just put that there as well a little white for some contrast so and this is a tool i get so many questions about it's a silicone wedge i use it for a lot of abstract works because i feel like yeah it's very easy to handle you know it's a little bit of bendable as well so in the description you find all the supplies that i use so if you're interested in this check it out i have this on here and i will just do that i'm kind of pleased already with it so you can touch it up then later of course you can do this as well with the cardboard and then you will also have some different kind of texture i like this scrape there's a base color and you can use your palette knife your cardboard or your silicone wedge and load that up with some color so i will load it up with just a little bit of white and some gold just a bit and then you can make this and go a little bit like that so you're scraping a little bit of color on there and you see it makes that beautiful gray and it looks like yeah you're painting let's put some red on there why not it's just an easy way to get colors blended as well with the background but make sure it's wet in wet because then you get the nice blending effect okay for this technique i will first make a background using my blending technique that you saw in one of the other techniques let me pick some colors okay i will use these colors such an easy way to blend you know it's a couple of seconds and the blend is perfect okay so what you need is a paper towel and this is very nice to uh have a sort of abstract background so you can or wet your paper towel or just put some water on the surface you take your paper towel and just tap it wherever you like it get a sort of interesting effect there you can even blend this more in it's fun huh you can go so many ways guys okay so i put some colors on there with the palette knife and i'm gonna use my sponge i'm just gonna tear it a little bit apart and i will gently dab the colors together you know and i would like to have a little bit of the texture of the palette knife so i'm gonna leave that in there so so i've gone ahead and sponged the Canvas full with the color it looks kind of nice but i still feel like something is missing so it's time to splatter some paint you can do it in so many ways i have my pouring paint ready and the pouring paint is 60 acrylics and 40 water i have a small squeeze bottle so i've poured just a little bit in there and what i will do is because when i squeeze now the paint out it can come in a you know in a big yeah like that so that's not something i like so i will go like this till i feel like the right squeezes are coming out so just an empty cup so i feel like okay the squeezes are coming out now and there i go like that and yeah you can do it with different kind of colors but yeah the splattering you can do it different ways so i still have here my liquid paint and i can drip my or i can put my brush in there and just go like this or you know like this if you want to have some small drops splattering is so nice it really gives yeah a different look to your painting okay so webbing is something that i use when i created the sort of background and it has a color clutter and it's missing something i don't want to do splatters or foil wrap or you know something else webbing is something nice so i have my acrylic pen it's a gold pen where i wrote these things and you just go on the comforts and make a line but it's some nice effect and it really gives a sort of focal point to your painting as well these are just a couple of easy abstract painting techniques and tricks and i really hope it helps you to yeah create a nice abstract or it doesn't even have to be abstract just off the color scrape and also this this turned out very pretty i must say but yeah i really hope this helps you to start on a blank Canvas and just go and know where to create your focal point and what techniques and tricks you can use to create that so i will thank you so much for watching please subscribe to my channel and click on that notification bell and of course if this helped you give the thumbs up and i'll see you next time
