Google services help run the modern world, and like many other industries, our infrastructure is powered by electricity. As the digital economy grows, we are working to match our electricity demand with carbon free sources every hour of every day. Since 2010, we have contracted with clean energy developers to add new solar and wind power to the grids that serve Google and other energy users. This has enabled Google to become one of the largest renewable energy customers in the world. But we want to go even further, expanding the benefits of clean energy to more customers and advancing next generation technologies that can fill gaps in wind and solar production. That's why we've pioneered a new, scalable model for customers and their utilities to partner in accelerating these solutions, called the Clean Transition Tariff. Now, utilities and customers can work together to source larger amounts of clean capacity from a diverse portfolio of technologies, including solar and wind, next generation resources like geothermal and demand side solutions. This meets growing demand for clean energy from a wider range of customers, enables more clean energy projects of all kinds to be developed, and brings higher volumes of clean power onto electricity grids where it's most needed through scalable solutions like the Clean Transition Tariff. We're helping Google and the world power towards a clean economy that benefits everyone.
