I have to honestly say that everything is worth it the hard work the times I get tired the times when you're a bit sad in the end it's all worth it because it really makes me happy and I wouldn't trade it for anything else in the world right now it's hard to say what I want my legacy to be you know what I want people to say when I'm long gone I want people to look at me as a full-on coming out especially with the R Kelly case and Kanye West kind of talking a little bit which kind of confirmed a lot for many people video is going to get controversial but I do want to start it off in a light note we are going to get into why many people are starting to believe more and more that maybe Beyonce and Jay-Z could have had something to do with it and get into that theory but let me first set the stage and give you guys a little bit of background on Aaliyah what was her impact like her beauty secrets some of her favorite things Etc Alia Donna Houghton was an American singer actress and model Who Rose to Fame in the 90s with her Soulful voice and killer dance moves she was born on January 16th 1979 in Brooklyn New York and unfortunately passed away in a plane crash on August 25th 2001 when she was only 22 years old despite her short career Aaliyah left a lasting impact on the music and entertainment Industries and her Legacy continues to inspire many Alia's accomplishments are impressive to say the least she won numerous Awards throughout her career including a Grammy award two MTV Video Music Awards six Soul Train Music Awards for Billboard Music Awards and many more her debut album age ain't nothing but a number which was produced by R Kelly sold over 3 million copies worldwide her second album won in a million which was produced by Timbaland and Missy Elliott sold over 8 million copies worldwide her third album Aaliyah which was also produced by Timbaland and Missy Elliott sold over 13 million copies worldwide in addition to her music career Alia also made a name for herself in Hollywood she starred in the film's Romeo Must Die and Queen of the Damned and was set to star in the matrix real loaded in The Matrix Revolutions before her untimely death despite the fact that she only released three albums and starred in a handful of films Alia is still considered one of the most influential artists of her generation her Unique Style which Blended r b hip hop and soul inspired countless singers and songwriters in the years that followed she was a trendsetter in both music and fashion and was known for her iconic tomboy style and daring red carpet looks Alia's loyal fans known as the baby girls continued to keep her memory alive to this day even though she passed away 20 years ago her music remains Timeless and her fans still flocked to social media to share memories and tributes Alia's Global impact is undeniable and her influence can be felt in the music and art of countless artists let's break down her fashion and her maintenance hairstyle giving birth to the nickname Alia swoop when she changed her hairstyle Alia took her mother's advice and covered her left eye much like Veronica Lake the look has become known as her signature and been referred to as a fusion of unnerving emotional honesty and a sense of Mystique her famous center part down to the nape of her neck with a Sleek Style on both sides of the part inspired many women during the relaxer and blowout era Aaliyah's hair was on every black girl's mood board it was always full healthy and thick she was really the standard several fashion icons have praise Aliyah for her sense of style Beyonce once said that Aliyah was the first celebrity to influence her fashion choices and she admired how effortless her style was Rihanna has also stated how much she was inspired by Alia's style and how she often turned to her for inspiration in an interview with the fader makeup artist Eric Pharrell who worked with Ali on numerous occasions revealed some of her beauty hacks he said that Alia loved using vaseline on her eyelids and cheeks to give her skin a dewy glow she also preferred using a Golden Bronze tinted lip balm instead of a lip gloss to achieve a natural hint of color Alia's appeal and Beauty went beyond her sense of style she had a unique charm calmness and confidence that ignited every room or stage she graced with her presence her down-to-earth personality and genuine care for others was another personal trait that made her beautiful outside and inside she was inspired by many individuals such as Mariah Carey Sade and Janet Jackson but she often credited her mother Diane Houghton as her fashion Muse here are some of her favorite things Aaliyah's favorite food was pancakes waffles and any kind of breakfast food with dark nails and Smoky makeup snakes draped over her body and her black hair swooped over one eye Aaliyah's later music videos gave off a goth Vibe so it may not come as a surprise that the singer was into the undead she said I have been a lover of vampires since I was very very young she told Entertainment Weekly I have blacked out Shades in my apartment I push a button it's totally dark I think I'm a bit of a vampire real life and there are times when I just want to be myself she told Vibe magazine she also said that it's fun being evil Aaliyah was fascinated by ancient Egyptian history so much so that she scattered original artwork rugs and pyramids across her New York apartment she even made it a habit to wear an Egyptian amulet around her neck she revealed the intricate tattoo on MTV stripped explaining that it was an Egyptian Anka the delicate symbol means life or death life or Breath of Life and hieroglyphics and is commonly connected with the afterlife she explained for some reason I feel this connection with Egypt and I wanted to get to get something represented on my body now let's get into her childhood Aaliyah Donahue Dan was born on January 16 1979 and she was the youngest child of Diane and Michael Houghton her name is the feminine form of the Arabic Ali meaning highest most exalted one the best Aaliyah was fond of her name calling it beautiful and saying she was very proud of it and strove to live up to her name every day growing up she excelled both academically and artistically she was known for achieving Straight A's in school and had a passion for singing and dancing from a young age Alia's ancestors came to the United States from Jamaica and she also had Native American ancestry she was comfortable with her identity and background and she wasn't afraid to flaunt them that's where her final music video designs was inspired by for the smash hit rock the boat she called herself a perfectionist and recalled always being a good student Alia reflected and I quote I always wanted to maintain that even in high school when I first started to travel I wanted to keep that 4.0 being in the industry you know I don't want kids to think I can just sing and forget about school I think it's very important to have an education and even more important to have something to fall back on she did this in her own life as she planned to fall back on another part of the entertainment industry she believed that she could teach music history or open her own school to teach that or drama if she did not make a living as a recording artist because as she reasoned when you pick a career it has to be something you love she had several pet animals during her childhood including Ducks snakes and iguanas her cousin Jomo had a pet alligator which Elia felt was too much remarking that that was something I wasn't going to stroke despite her Talent Aaliyah was not immune to the struggles many children face in interviews she spoke about her experience with bullying and feeling like an outsider but she persevered and used her experiences to feel her creativity Alia's family has described her as kind loving and focused individual she was deeply devoted to her family and would often spend time with her brother Rashad who would later become her choreographer as a child Alia enjoyed various Hobbies such as horseback riding roller skating and ballet she even had a secret talent for painting which she revealed in an interview with MTV but her true passion was music and she began taking singing and dancing lessons as a young girl Alia attended Detroit's gasu Elementary School a Catholic school where she was involved in various school activities she also went on to attend Bishop Gallagher High School where she continued to excel academically while simultaneously pursuing her music career Aliyah's talent and hard work eventually caught the attention of record labels and she signed with Jive Records at the age of 12. her first album age ain't nothing but a number was released in 1994 and quickly became a commercial success Alia's Uncle Barry Hankerson was a prominent music executive who had worked with some of the biggest names in the industry including Gladys Knight Toni Braxton and later R Kelly Barry was a key figure in Aaliyah's career and played a significant role in shaping her success as a young girl Aliyah was surrounded by some of the most famous names in music including Gladys Knight Patti LaBelle and Chaka Khan in 1993 Alia made her television debut on Star Search a popular talent show on the time although she didn't win her performance got the attention of Gladys Knight who offered to manage her career Aaliyah got a contract with Atlantic Records after leaving job records in 1996 on her second studio album one in a million she collaborated with Timberland and Missy Elliott two record producers since Alia had already released her successful debut album while Elliot and Timberland were only getting started Elliot remembered that she and Timbaland were nervous to collaborate with her Elliot shared the concern that Aliyah would be a diva but noted that she came in and was so warm she made us immediately feel like family Alia wanted her videos to stand out from those of other r b artists according to director Paul Hunter from the very beginning he stated you can watch programming all day and see a certain type of video by female artists then when one of hers come on is something special something different to look at she was all about that according to times Christopher John Farley Aaliyah's videos are mostly about mood not about plots her videos are typically beautifully shot now let's talk about R Kelly When it comes to the music industry it's no secret that behind all the glitz and glamor there's a lot of questionable behavior that goes on behind closed doors one such example is a controversial marriage between Aaliyah and R Kelly role models of their relationship began to swirl when Aaliyah appeared in R Kelly's Age ain't nothing but a number the song's title alone should have been a red flag but the fact that R Kelly produced the entire album and wrote most of the songs was even more concerning well no we're not related at all no no we're just very close as my best friend cool now who found her in the whole wide world um I found Leah as a matter of fact Barry Hankerson my manager he's her uncle that is great to work with because really it's not like we work because we're like really close so it's like just fun really we just hang out sing I'll never remember working yeah it's just like fun what a record you are how old that song can relate to a lot of people like if you fall in love with someone older or if an older person falls in love with someone younger it's really everyone can relate to it not just one group of people and of course because we knew when I came out that age would be you know the big thing Kelly invested a great deal of time with Alia observing her habits and character in order to determine what kind of music would best suit her she mentioned that they frequently went bullying into arcades to vibe off of one another Kelly also made her run through the songs he composed multiple times before he was satisfied he took advantage of her family's trust to guide her and slept with her but it wasn't until August 31st 1994 when the two secretly got married in a ceremony in Rosemont Illinois that the truth finally came out Aaliyah was just 15 years old at the time with R Kelly being 12 years her senior the marriage was quickly annulled once elia's family found out and both parties denied that the marriage ever happened however the evidence was already out there and it's a stained on both of their legacies I can never be erased so how I did R Kelly managed to marry someone who was still a minor it turns out that he had help from some shady individuals according to vibe.com our Kelly's former tour manager Demetrius Smith admitted in his 2012 book The Man Behind the man that he had witnessed R Kelly having Central relations with Aaliyah on a tour bus he also revealed that he had helped Forge the marriage documents that stated that Leo was 18. as for Alia's family it's unclear how much they knew about what was going on behind the scenes her parents have remained relatively quiet about the issue but her brother Rashad did address it in a 2016 interview with Hot 97 saying I know my sister's not here she's not able to speak for herself but at the end of the day I know my sister wouldn't have wanted it to be used for self-promotion he said and it's true that Aaliyah's Legacy has been overshadowed by this controversy with many questioning how much control she had over her own life and career as for new information that has come to light lifetime's documentary series surviving R Kelly released in 2019 she had even more light on the extent of our Ellie's you know behaviors Damien Dash elia's partner at the time of her death has stated that all Aaliyah wanted was for the R Kelly incident to be forgotten the tragic reality was revealed only after her death there's no denying that this is a difficult and uncomfortable topic to discuss it was difficult to research this whole video was difficult but it's important to acknowledge and confront the dark side of the music industry Aaliyah was a talented artist who deserved so much better than to be taken advantage of by someone in a position of power and we can only hope that this Scandal serves as a wake-up call for everyone in the industry to do better but we know that it's not Aaliyah did eventually resume dating when she was of legal age to do so after her death rumors of relationship with JC became one of the most publicized cases and in 2019 the media circulated some previously unseen photos of the couple dancing closely together and according to Damien Dash who was then business partners with Jay-Z Aaliyah dated Jay-Z before deciding to commit to dash though Jay-Z memorialized Aaliyah in a song following her death neither She nor Jay-Z May mentioned anything of the sort when she was alive by way of his accountant Aaliyah was introduced to Damien Dash one of the co-founders of Rockefeller records and according to dash they had an instant connection according to him they were incredibly compatible and could talk to each other about anything Aaliyah threw a party for dash 30th birthday and flew to see him two weeks before her death and despite the fact that she never confirmed anything more than a platonic relationship they claimed they were really in love they meant dashed intentions of marrying Aaliyah was disclosed after her death he hadn't popped the question to her just yet but they intended to get married kidada Jones another one of her closest friends corroborated this she claimed that after belly her year of dating Aaliyah was eager to start a family with dash dash grief over her death is easy to understand after the deaths of Aaliyah and his mother he felt that he had become a monster unable to love or accept the possibility of being hurt again now let's shift gears and talk about her death real quick she had just finished filming for her music video rock the boat in the Bahamas when her life was cut short on August 25 2001. she was only 22 years old now there are a plethora of theories and conspiracies surrounding her death why would Aaliyah a known anxious liar be so insistent on getting on this small plane when it was clearly overloaded with baggage especially when there was a charted plane set to pick her up the next day according to the Daily Beast author Ian doley stumbled across which she believed is the final piece of the puzzle in the process of researching and writing her upcoming book baby girl better known as Aaliyah it came from a man in the Abaco Islands named Kingsley Russell whose family ran a taxi and Hospitality business in the area shortly after the death of Kobe Bryant in February 2020 Russell made a since deleted YouTube video describing how the helicopter crash was triggering because it reminded him of the day he watched Aaliyah being taken on board the Fatal flight while she was asleep knocked out by a pill that a member of her team had given her minutes after he saw her Entourage carrying a sleeping Aaliyah onto the plane despite her previous protests about boarding it Russell said he remembers hearing the unforgettable sound of the aircraft crashing into the ground Russell had been 13 in 2001 and wound up being an Elias orbit by working as her team's baggage carrier securing the tip job by his aunt Annie Russell who was handling the team's transportation and scouting locations for filming already expering a two-hour delay due to the plane's late arrival Russell claimed that Aliyah grew even more flustered when she finally saw the small plane and refused to board it at the same time the pilot was insisting that the plane would be too heavy with eight passengers including Alia's 300 pound bodyguard in all of their luggages and video equipment pushing back against her team Alia climbed into the taxi van complaining of a headache and said she was going to take a quick nap meanwhile her Camp continued to try and convince the pilot to fly them with all their luggage according to Russell eventually Russell said a member of Alia's team came to check on her and the Sanger reiterated that she did not want to get on the tiny plane and that she had a headache it was then Russell claimed that the team member produced a pill which Alia took and fell into a deep sleep which she remained in when the pilot finally agreed to fly the group back to Florida they took her out of the van she didn't even know she was getting boarded on a plane Russell said and baby girl she went on the airplane asleep when Aaliyah's body was recovered nearly 20 feet away from the wreckage she was still strapped in her seat slumped to the left with her five foot seven inch frame folded over according to the book an autopsy report concluded that her survival was Unthinkable citing her extensive Burns in major head trauma some believe that the industry sacrificed her because she refused to join a secret society others say that she was targeted because she knew too much about the Shady dealings with the music industry but let's look at the facts the official cause of death was determined to be a plane crash Alia and eight other passengers were aboard a private plane leaving the Bahamas when it crashed shortly after takeoff a new book alleges at the late pops darlia did not want to board the aircraft and was given a pill that knocked her out before a tragic plane crash death the star had actually begun filming for the The Matrix equal The Matrix Reloaded she hadn't done much though but if she lived we would have seen her both reloaded in The Matrix Revolutions the pilot was later found to have traces of Coca-Cola and alcohol in his system leading to speculation that he was under the influence during the flight however the exact cause of Crash remains unknown now one of the more bizarre theories is that Beyonce was somehow involved in Aaliyah's death this Theory suggests that Aaliyah was a threat to Beyonce's Rising stardom so Beyonce had her eliminated and according to several articles Aaliyah was estimated for the same level of success as Beyonce but she refused to compromise her Integrity for the sake of Fame but Beyonce was ready to do whatever it took to get to the top it is widely believed that Beyonce stole Jay-Z from Aaliyah who dated him before Beyonce Kanye even recently came out and basically said Jay-Z and Beyonce participate in sacrifices feels like it might be a lot of that in order to control traumatize they want to monetize and traumatize this truth is gonna be heard I can't send none of y'all Meek Mills y'all puppies got little Boozies none of these names none of these people that have to listen to y'all because they're dealing they have legal I never killed nobody right that never killed nobody right but that means I can say whatever I want and not go to jail and even if they did figure out a way Kanye hinted that a lot of celebrities are involved in human sacrifices now he didn't exactly say this but just insinuated it but we are just good with cracking codes besides he claimed that he couldn't be controlled by the people running Hollywood because he hasn't killed anyone but then again he gave us a list of people who could be controlled even fans believe Connie at this point and gave him their full support saying I believe it especially when Beyonce talks about using the Bible Pages as a tampon evil controls both Jay-Z and fiance she wouldn't be as big of a star if Alia was still with us but she was sacrificed God bless you yay for confirming The Evil Within These Thompson Beyonce's former drummer had accused the singer for extreme witchcraft entire time this person was casting spells and manipulating me and controlling my job situations my relation a very Wicked uh tactic to just keep me down and keep me under some type of control at this point some might ask among all the pop stars why Beyonce while the two singers shared very similar Roots healing from an R B background with a budding acting career on the side this proved that both the singers were pursuing the same dream and apparently only one of them would be allowed to achieve it Missy Elliott's comment that Aaliyah Knew Too Much has also fueled some theories but this comment was likely made in reference to Alia's knowledge of the music industry not some sort of conspiracy but and as for R Kelly who Aaliyah famously married when she was just 15 years old there is no evidence to suggest that he had any involvement in her death but you know what others believe also there are certainly some crazy rumors surrounding Aaliyah's death one Theory suggests that her own family may have been behind it now y'all know in light of recent updates and new information from the R Kelly case the fans and media have grown a strong distress for Alia's family especially how they also blocked her music from being streamed for a long time after her death and how they all knew what was going on with her in the industry what I find interest interesting is how none of them were present when she passed away the development of Aaliyah's career was greatly influenced by her family Michael Houghton as we said was Aaliyah's father started working as her personal manager in 1995 with help from her mother who was also a singer who was also rumored to have had a relationship with R Kelly also but there's not really anything to prove that her brother Rashad took over as her manager when her father was sick but they were very very close Alia loved her brother Aaliyah was known to have usually been accompanied by members of her family her brother Rashad stated that the filming of rock the boat was the only time her family was not present during a video shoot in October 2001 Rashad said it really boggles everyone that from day one every single video she ever shot there's always been myself or my mother or my father there the circumstances surrounding this last video were really strange because my mother had eye surgery and couldn't fly that really bothered her my dad had to take care of my mom at the time and I went to Australia to visit some friends we really couldn't understand why we weren't there you ask yourself maybe we could have stopped it but you can't really answer the question there's always going to be that question of why end quote black ground records which was run by her uncle collapsed after being sued for mismanagement by musicians like Timberland and Toni Braxton settlements were reached without going to trial and Hankerson did a great wrong to Alia Henderson would not allow streaming services to have access to Aaliyah's songs because the rights to her music were held by blackground this was especially unfortunate for Aaliyah and her music because streaming has become the standard method of Music consumption the announcement that her music would be made available for streaming and digital downloads has now been made by her estate what we do know is that Aaliyah's death was a true tragedy right we don't know much with Hollywood because Hollywood is weird she had the talent and potential to become one of the greatest musicians of her time while we may never know exactly what happened that paper day in 2001 we can honor her memory by remembering the impact shadow in the music industry in the world and know that we may never know but there's always these deaths that just is weird right it doesn't settle quite with you and it it's like your conscience it keeps telling you that your subconscious keeps peeking through that hey this doesn't sound right put the pieces together it's just our desk it sounds so strange it never sounded right and this is why I think even today so many people are obsessed with it and I know there's a lot of people that come and I want you guys to know also that there's a lot of bots on Twitter Instagram and YouTube that they Mass comment certain things maybe one day it will be revealed that that happens but there's a lot of bots I noticed that have zero people following them that will comment whenever you talk about the industry here on YouTube or Instagram wherever or Twitter you talk about the industry and they all come and just call you a conspiracy theorist you're crazy uh whatever the thing could be right in your face it's visible like you can see it it's clear you know and they'll still call you crazy and one thing I don't want to do with any of these celebrities is called them crazy Aaliyah got into this industry really really young so just like a Michael Jackson I do give her a lot of Grace because there's a lot you just won't know anyone young and you just want to be famous you know so there's a lot you don't know like look at Lauren Hill I did a video for her check that out that she finally got out everybody was trying to call her crazy but she's not she's been prepping her way to leave but you don't know a lot of people go and they just want to be famous make money and have everybody know them and they don't know to what extent and how dark it can get and sometimes they end up making decisions where you're like man they were thrust into this with a young age by parents I probably wanted to live through their kids also so it's just all very very unfortunate and we will never ever know and by no means that I'm saying because you know someone with an innocent face like analia some people might not want to believe also that hey she probably did participate in this culture of Hollywood's weirdness okay that's all I must say because there's a lot of things she was into that she spoke about she was vocal about and yeah those were some pretty strange things that she was into also so a lot of starlets and stars men women can have very innocent likable faces we love them and it's hard for us to imagine that they could have been complicit in part of it and the music and things but they could have played a role and a lot of time artists also sometimes are really clueless because they have songwriters so they don't know the meaning behind their songs set designers that design and put the concept together for them they don't even have a say-so on their music videos The Outfits they wear the symbolisms a lot of them do really not know you know so I do understand that but a lot of them do know and people call it out to them lives of these people but you know when you look behind the lens the more you keep peeking and peeking it's just so dark it's disgusting and it makes your spirit just angry that so much could just be happening and you know so much behind the scene and a lot of these people do deserve better but in hindsight we do make our choices we do make our choices but I will never say that for minors that were thrown into this industry but if you're a grown adult by now in 2023 and you go into the industry and you're shocked when poop hits the fan I don't know what to tell you that's all I have to say
