A Tribe of One | Niche Let's Play • Adam's Quest - Episode 1

hey guys my name is Jessie new and welcome to the official release version of a genetic survival game I am so excited to get started on all of our new adventures but in case you guys don't know this version has added two separate modes so we have story mode and we have sandbox mode and today we're going to take a closer look at story mode so we can experience the story of atom so I haven't played this yet I've tried to keep myself as spoiler free as possible so we can enjoy this for the first time together but I'm looking forward to having some official backstory to a place beside our starting pair we don't often experiment with that too much so let's jump straight into this and see where Adams journey is going to take us oh is this Adams family they do look suspiciously like the old version of Adam with those tiger stripes and those poison fangs so I wouldn't be surprised if this is where his family lives maybe the island where he was born my gosh we are getting straight into this okay poor Adam was he just snatched into the sky by one of those pesky birds he must just be a tiny little baby then with a planet gem on his chest the poor thing and then dumped straight back into the ocean that's why we don't leave our babies alone because those birds will scoop them up as soon as they have the chance it did look like he was maybe with I guess one of his siblings maybe his sister who snuck him out of the nest to go play on the shore but Adam you are breaking my heart he looks so sad miles and miles away from anybody he knows and it looks as if we have landed straight in the middle of a big swamp biome typically that doesn't end too well for our creatures without the stinky tail because of course this is where those uh bugs like to spawn so hopefully we won't find any of those but we do have a tutorial to follow so try and see if you can still walk it did look like Adam got him a little bit hurt but he can still walk to the tile right next to him because of course he's just a tiny little baby so he can't get very far hopefully on the next turn we cannot pick some of those berries we can grab some food to eat because he will definitely need it we know how important those food stores can be the world looks brighter today time to explore this a new place okay I think I'm going to go ahead and use our turns on the berries because it would be such a ways to leave those behind tasty berries a great source of nutrition collecting more and building up reserves sure would be helpful yeah that's what I'm thinking so let's grab the berries now since we only have a one little creature in our tribe at the moment a tribe of one the poor thing he definitely needs to have build up his food while he still can this island seems to be deserted a pathway of stones leads to another island in the distance maybe it's time to leave this place okay so they're probably talking about this one up to the north with all of these lovely flowers on it yeah it looks like that's our only port that we can go to so I guess we'll have to leave our berry bush behind and use your two turns to scoot up this thing he's actually going to agro up before we even reach the next island I think he has two more days before he's going to be an official adult yawn the next turn he will no longer be a child so this poor thing has spent his entire childhood alone - Adam is going to be absolutely terrified of those birds once he starts a family of his own maybe that's where our little rule comes into play where we always keep an adult next to a baby I'm sure Adam would be the one to enforce that but now he's fully grown and ready to take on the rest of the world with those big poison fangs hopefully he'll be able to find somebody on this new island - this one is completely deserted so maybe in the next month we'll be able to have find Eve even must be in here somewhere she is typically the one that we start with when we begin a brand new game behind you the stepping stones crumble and splash into the ocean this island is your new home did you hear that it sounds like another animal is living on this island alright so now we're not in such a a deserted place so the UM sense icons are no longer on the left side of the screen we use this button way down here on the bottom right to toggle between them I did prefer the old way of switching them I think but I'm sure we'll get used to this it doesn't look like Eve is in theum direct area though we can't see her silhouette so we're going to have to do a little bit more exploring and it seems as if we have a rock or right in your path Adam that is not going to help I guess we'll go toward the food most likely if there's another creature on the island they're probably looking for some food to eat - let's um go ahead and sniff around again because I do see one of those permanent knives okay somebody is definitely setting up a camp here so can we find them not yet but as we scoot over to the berries let's keep listening yeah it seems like whoever is on this island is hiding a ferry very well so we'll go ahead and skip the day and we'll see if maybe we can allure them out by grabbing up a few of these berries no no whoever's on this island is very very shy I guess Adam does look a little bit intimidating with his big poison fangs his tiger stripes - and his big body I mean he must be a pretty strong he has a - an attack strength so we're going to have to UM make sure we get that crown of ram horns and her creatures pretty soon but I guess we could explore the tree that's um the only way we haven't gone yet so let's have him scoot over here and maybe I'm peer into the grass oh there's another berry bush I wonder if that means that our creature is like right here let's see if we can find them if we sniff around I think that actually is oh it's a creature with Amba nimble fingers the little frog toes and it looks like the spiky body so a very interesting little porcupine let's go ahead and skip the day and then hopefully we can bring Adam over to meet her as long as she doesn't run as soon as we get to you close anyway if we scoot them over here right next to the Sun molehill then I think this must be Eve oh my goodness she looks very very unique compared to most of the Eve's that we start with and I think her spines are actually the same color as her ram horns oh that's really cool so like usual we're going to need to use some of that food that we've stored up to maybe invite her to our tribe we'll offer Eve five food to join our tribe with us animal you found is a female called Eve now you can explore the new I went together oka is adorable they're not alone anymore she was on a very small island - I wonder if that means that she also had I'm some run-in with the birds maybe are we about the same age yes she's only one day older than we are that is very very mysterious maybe she got washed up on the shore if she got too close to the water she is very shy though so let's go ahead and unpair from this grass so maybe she could pick up some more food for us since she has the nimble fingers she should be able to crack open all of these acorns - which is going to be very very helpful when we're trying to gather our food supplies she could also maybe pick up some of the shells as long as she doesn't get to you deep because we don't want her trout in either but let's go ahead and skip the day again oh it's raining that's a good sign so all of the berries should be a right back on the bush adam and eve's seem to like each other maybe it's time to start a family I guess Adam thought the rain was a good sign too the perfect time to bring some new babies into the world thankfully I don't think we have to worry about any Bunny is stealing our berries so why don't we go ahead and just pick up some of these acorns and then try to find that nest again I think we saw a permanent nest over this way right inside I'm one of these little patches of grass so that would probably be the perfect place for them to us set up camp yeah right here this must be the nest that Eve made herself when she washed up on this island too so let's go ahead and skip the day again and then we'll get started on their very first family will bring you right over here and then um you can breed with Adam soon your animals become parents and raise the next generation excellent so we'll go ahead and pick up some of this grass around here too so we don't have to worry about anything spawning and potentially hurting our babies then maybe you could come over here and Oh hunt this mole for us well we do still have some berries on the bush it'll grab this up with your last turn and then let's see what our very first baby of Adam and Eve on this new Island is going to look like oh my goodness look at you with that fluffy big body Leanna you are going to be just as strong as your father it looks like she's super healthy too she managed to inherit both some normal eyes in both of her slots and she also has some normal blood clotting so that's a very very good to see we'll have to make sure that their genetics line up well anyway just in case we need to add something to their mutation menu but your first offspring has been born and you're now a real family the baby's genes are a mix of its parents genes genes defines how animals will look and what abilities they have so that means with her big nose she'll be able to you smell a little bit farther into the darkness and the grass than her parents would because Eve only has the normal nose which gives her a +2 in smelling and then Adam has the poison fangs which doesn't help him smell very much at all those will still be important for us to keep in the tribe though for his venomous ability and his poison resistance that means if we run into any poison bushes along the way we should be able to pick from them safe without harming our creatures too and of course if we run into any carnivores any bear Hina's maybe the me would be able to poison them so they would take more damage well let's see if Adam can hunt down this pesky mole so I think we're going to want to let it turn a little bit more we'll have Eve go ahead and gather up some of this grass and then Adam should be able to scoot right behind it and swipe it up from behind excellency you can take that back to your very first little baby now of course he is going to request that Eve does not go too far away from their baby just in case any birds come swooping out of the sky but that should be the last of their turn so we'll go ahead and skip the day again I guess we're going to want you I'm scoot on to the next song I'm pretty soon because this one is so very small we're not going to get very far from here maybe they could have one more baby together though this is the end of the tutorial too your story begins here will you search the world for your lost family or happily live with your new one will your species become fierce hunters and Nomad Fisher's or sneaky herbivores it's all up to you alright so I guess that means we might be able to find his family after all that would be quite interesting if we could run into them again maybe we can find the island where he used to live we have first things first let's make sure we take a look at their genetics so Adam does have the short sighted eyes like usual in his inactive traits so we might want to inif VII in the bud as soon as possible and place the normal eyes into his mutation menu that way it's a little bit more likely that his babies will inherit those helpful normal eyes instead other than that I don't think there's anything in here that's too concerning and of course we don't have access to a lot of the mutations just yet because we need to unlock them first like the more ram horns I believe we need to perform at 50 attacks to UM unlock those ram horns so that's going to take a little while longer most of the genes that we have in here right now just cosmetic we could possibly try to change the eye color of our creatures the fur color the marking colors Eve on the other hand I'm a little bit more concerned with because she does have those frog toes so that's going to make it a little bit harder for her to move on land her baby lucked out because it looks like she does have the normal hind legs but I think from here on out we're going to make sure that we place the UH normal hind legs in the Mew Asian menu just in case now her eyesight is perfectly fine so for their next baby I think we'll leave the mutation menu exactly as it is um hopefully we can bring her a little bit closer to all of the food too let's scoot the baby out this way little Rihanna so she's still right next to her mother but then hopefully we can build a nest right here next to the berries next to us some of the acorns that way we're still replenishing our food supplies as for having more babies - we'll have um Adam go ahead and breed with her so she can still place down one of those lovely nests with all of the nesting material that we've gathered and then you should be able to you crack open this acorn to a feed to your little baby of course we'll have Adam go ahead and pick some berries and then we'll zoom out and uh skip the day again yeah after this I think we are going to hop to the next island because I would imagine we're not going to find a too much action here but look at this baby oh he has the spots oh that is so cute he almost reminds me of a rara from our previous island the harmony islands mother mushrooms so maybe she's shining down on him right now now it's a father mushroom bow so I wouldn't be surprised if he's another creature with a very big heart so sweet little coral looks very very healthy he has those poison fangs and his inactive traits too so maybe that means that we can pull it out again in the future those are typically a little bit tricky for us to keep because we need to breed two creatures with the same trait but Adam is definitely starting to get a little bit anxious maybe he has told even his children about all of his old tribe mates and how he wants to try to find his way back to his old home the birds aside it did seem like a very peaceful place so he probably thinks that they would enjoy it very much let's have Rihanna go ahead and uh scoop up the senesce so we can bring that along with us to the next island and then we'll start making our way over to these sports of course Eve is going to stay right by sweet little cool row so he doesn't get to you far behind and can we try to dig up any of the roots in the ground it doesn't look like we have any right next to us yet we'll watch you uh try to attempt these things that way we can get a little bit closer to unlocking new traits and the menus but for now we'll keep Eve right next to her son and we'll go ahead and skip the day again this should hopefully be one of our very last days on this island we'll bring Adam right over to the front right next to our traveling port and his daughter can move right next to him too she definitely seems to favor her father and I'm not surprised because they look so similar with those big fluffy bodies but there are so few ports on this island that it would be a little bit of always to continue breeding our creatures so let's go ahead and skip the day again and then hopefully Kuro will have enough energy to get all the way over to those sports he definitely does but we have a little Mole coming up to us say goodbye to us I think we're going to a go to the ports instead that's probably a little bit more important right now so our creatures don't get too old Adam still has plenty of stories to tell to his children after all all of his future little babies and a plenty more exploring to do as well because he still wants to find his own family so let's have him travel to the next Island I'm not sure where this is going to leave us I would imagine we're probably still inside the e-z Islands right now so we shouldn't have to worry about things like the birds but hopefully you know this one is a little bit bigger so maybe we'll be able to find some new creatures to aprea long our journeys it looks like Eve already has a little shell to collect excellent so we can pick that up and then scoot her off into the grass let's have them I have another baby here too we'll bring Adam up here to breed with her so she can still place down one of her nests and then you're going to I have to make sure that everything is safe you'll clear out some of this grass you could have your babies do the same we don't want any carnivores spawning on your brand-new baby brave Rihanna would probably be the best one to send out furthest because she does have the ability to you sniff a little bit farther and she's finding tons and tons of berry bushes it's a little bit hard to tell past all of this grass but at least we have a lot of food we're definitely going to be able to increase our stores if we stay here for a little while see how she can smell the roots all the way out here way way in the back I guess we're going to have to try to take those up after all and there's nothing that we can hear just yet so let's skip the day and see what sort of creatures are going to spawn on this tiny little island including our own little baby oh you look very similar to Rihanna actually but he has a spiky bye just like his mother with the same color spines do so at least he'll have a good way to protect himself in lieu of the claw of course because we haven't found any creatures with that very very helpful claw just yet so let's sniff around again just to make sure that there's nothing in the area so far it seems very very quiet so we'll have Adam continued to clear out the ax camp so they have a little bit more room to work with well have Koro do the same make sure that his sister can get around because she is going to be doing most of the exploring right now her mother can pick the berries with her nimble fingers and she can put her big nose to good use by going a little bit further into the grass and sniffing around well Lee she's finding tons and tons of food that's always a good sign so we'll have Eve go ahead and pick up some of these berries she can scoot over here and grab some mores since some Adam as a right next to their newest baby we don't have to worry about him getting hurt this would actually be the perfect spot for her to build another nest of her own right between the two food sources and even some of the acorns too but let's have you use your last turn to build a pathway so you don't end up getting lost and I think we actually uncovered one of the a permanent nests do right next to a bunny burrow so whoever built this on the Shoreham must have been looking for us some bunnies some easy little morsels to snatch up for their babies I think we would probably be better off to stay next to the berry bushes if we're too close to the bunny burrows after all then they don't actually spawn so we're probably going to want to bring Adam a little bit farther away let's bring him over here so we can breed with Eve again we'll have to have Cora go ahead and pick up the old nest and hopefully that's going to be enough to you build a brand new one between all of our food there we go exactly ten pieces so we need ten pieces of this nesting material so you settle down a nest of our own if we ever run out then we can just try picking up the grass to hopefully gain a little bit extra but let's sniff around again can you smell anything out here Rihanna I think your father's probably going to follow you a little bit deeper you must be getting a bit worried even though you're fully grown he can't help it he did have I'm a pretty rough childhood so he just wants to make sure you're safe coral on the other hand is perfectly content to stay right in a to all of his brand-new siblings I think he's probably going to stay next to the nest as much as he possibly can he wants to help this mother of course gather all the food we have him a little acorn to pick up on the next turn and road Duke you can't get you far but I'm sure you want to do a little bit of exploring too he's probably going to go charging off after his sister to help her out with a spiky body his big nose maybe they could even map out this entire island if they're lucky let's skip the day again though and we'll see what their next little baby is going to look like oh I think he actually has the UM nimble fingers this time lots and lots of sons in this playthrough so hopefully we'll be able to find some females off in the class somewhere otherwise we might be in a little bit of a situation but we have the nimble fingers and it looks like he also has Eve's spiky body again so two brand new babies for a brand new island and now we need to do a little bit of food collecting we are starting to get quite low we only have six pieces of food and exactly six tribe mates to feed so let's have Eve pick up this acorn that she found before and then she can scoop up her berries to pour Oh can help her out and I suppose he could also go to on this side just to kind of clear out the area so hopefully she'll be able to crack open the rest of those we might actually set up her baby on the other side maybe she could teach him the best ways to crack open the Acorn so he can feed all of his siblings Rihanna in the meantime is feeling a little bit stifled she knows her father means well but she wants to find adventures of her own so she's going to keep charging her way off into the grass to uh hopefully find something was that one of the moles she must have scared them all away in her haste she scared them all straight back into its burrow that actually scared me too and that must have also startled Rihanna quite a bit but she's not going to let it show she wants to appear very strong in front of her family not like the type of creature who would be afraid of tiny moles but now that she's exploring more that gives us a a better chance of possibly finding something out in the grass too good or bad of course we'll go ahead and sniff around again oh it looks like we actually have another wanderer out there somebody with the spiky body just like Eve but also that derps note so we'll have to go investigate that of course right after we gather up a little bit more food I'm not sure if we're going to be able to invite anybody because we are super super low in our stores so you can go ahead and grab up her acorns we should probably have a core oh go ahead and pick up the berries instead if we bring him over here he'll still be next to his little brother so he can grab all of the berries off at those bushes we're actually in the middle of a drought right now that's why the berry bushes have withered a little bit because and we haven't had a rain and so long so the berries aren't growing quite as fast so we'll have to rely on our other sources of food and hopefully if we bring a road Duke over here to help out his mother I'll wait a second there's a bunny over here Oh Adam you need to pounce on this one I know you're very very concerned about your daughter you're not quite sure where he went off to but you need to find food for your family do but if we could maybe have AMRO Duke uses last turn to shake some more acorns off the tree then Eve should be able to crack open one extra ACORN for this turn now little cool Vaughn can't do too much right now because he's only a little baby so we'll have him stay right inside the nest they'll spend a little bit of extra time bundled up inside that very cozy place and then aware did our new friend run off to it looks like he's not in the grass anymore so Rihanna is going to have to do a little bit more exploring to uh try to find him again and in fact let's put her on this a smelling sense so he can smell as her moving she's scaring them palsy yet again and I think she actually found a nest back here too it's a little bit tricky to see past all of that grass but it does look like we have a permanent nest in the area so this must actually be where that wandering creature was living I think as long as we am staying near the food sources we should be able to find him again pretty easily the wanderer is neither food to after all but let's go ahead and skip the day one more time and I believe some of our creatures should be growing up very very shortly roe Duke is almost fully grown so we can go charging offers own adventures as well and let's see we'll give it one more try back here we'll see if a maybe she can find that creature if she goes toward the berry bush shoes we have some shells on the shore too so maybe he was going after those I have a feeling he's probably in this patch of darkness he couldn't have gotten too far away I mean this island is super small anyway so unless he was really really old we shouldn't have to worry about I'm running out of time to find him so Rihanna will continue chasing her ghosts away in the back of the island and hopefully in the next episode we'll be able to hunt him down maybe we can have a couple more children with Adam and Eve jus before he passes away because ideally we only have a few more days remaining on their lifespans the beginning of the game always goes by so very quickly because we only have a couple of creatures to interact with but so far I think we're doing pretty good we have a little family of nimble-fingered spiky body babies it looks like them they have nails too on their nimble fingers the same color yet again as the RAM horns and the spines so it must all be connected to the horn color if they receive that's C a really cool detail actually I bet once we start getting the claws on our creatures they'll take on that color too but for now thank you all so much for watching and I'll see you all next
