hey everyone this is manly badass hero and welcome to the night way home a japanese horror game created by chilli's art where a girl just wants to get home so of course that means a ghost is gonna follow her and make sure she doesn't get [Music] home good morning what time is it she already left for work we have found that a junior high school girl was missing yesterday around 8 pm who is believed to have been on our way home after an extracurricular activity went missing wait what time is it i'm going to be late time for a horror game situation [Music] hey did you hear they come from next school she's been missing since yesterday [Music] oh i know i think it was at the station that's right she said she left her friend at the station and hasn't been seen since but she told her friends that she didn't want to go home right so it could be that she just ran away from home well sure domestic violence i feel sorry for her i hope they find her soon you see these type of things kind of prey on vulnerabilities like that like oh you want to go home i'll make sure of that i don't want to go home huh you know i don't want to go home either see here we go i would just feel lonely i know my mom doesn't like me much but so it's like hey you know you want to go home you know free meat okay so turn on the vhs filter because it just doesn't translate the youtube too well this is the same subway as uh whatever game they've made this town is no good seems a lot people go missing use escalator do the subway yes man this fog is it's getting late i should get home fast we're fairly mobile um which it makes me a little uncomfortable because i think i've mentioned this before if you're fast it means whatever's chasing you it's going to be really fast phone over here save at the top of the screen will go up if the meter reaches its limit you will be in a state of panic which will cause enemy to sense you okay so it's more of the opposite be careful you're gonna entertain panicking you have to lose the enemy and calm yourself down before doing anything thank you for revealing that it's going to be an enemy and i need to run for my life nice there's the bar so it was going down [Music] anime it it goes it goes up or down or whatever really fast like look at that so we have to actually hop between the levels security room huh locked we're very scared of the dark aren't we we never really get the security key from a locker don't forget it's the top row of the west locker and then i need to find the westlocker don't i holy crap when i'm panicking it's equally as fast no i think he weird noises find the bathroom he'll never get us in here that is weird don't even have a health bar like does it just need to catch me or something oh god's over here no oh my god the paddock mirror fills up so damn fast [Music] i guess the bathroom is a safe zone though okay we know it's down there in red three eight nine one two seven zero nine zero eight why is girl i have to get my bike it should be in the basement parking lot i have to get home fast the ghost is going to have a bike too do you have like an extra long bike anyway here's a save point say progress huh that's both weird and not good there we are we're getting in the panic pretty soon we're not go the dark whatsoever and it's kind of sometimes hard to tell like there's enough bloom in the graphical style sometimes it's like whoa is that light or is that just me reflecting off everything no ghosts here right can i keep going what my mom bought me a stuffed animal for my birthday i sleep with it every day interesting i'll be tied to an ending this is a dead end yep we're in trouble kick up there's no light around them still panicking you need to get the light come on come on way i'm just trying to find my bike so it's kind of like you're managing like two health bars you've got your your light panic bar then you've got your uh true health bar which regenerates oh no oh no you didn't see me special technique gonna move gotta move if i panic then i can't escape oof made it okay which one's my bike okay my bike that was a weird it's slightly open i can crawl under the shutter or really like i have to get to the bus stop there's no way i'm walking back home now where was the local bus stop around here now we are truly spirited away i mean what is this is this a hurray people spirits hate this thing you can pull on the hooray using the q key you repel evil spirits away usually make your way through a big map interesting yeah this is a big map now i'm not sure what they mean like repel evil spirits like the tall girl let's go in the park he'll be safer in here ghost never knowing i had trouble sleeping but my mom made me coco and drinking and helping sleep it was good coco of lots of milk we're going to panic soon what [Music] looks funny [Music] there's something there if we can lose it go upstairs can't go upstairs goes allergic to stairs that's right spider-man spider-man oh god there's fall damage oops guess i'm not spider-man when i was in fourth grade started working from early morning until late at night i stopped being selfish to my mother who works so hard every day back back what it's just like suck like start the hedgehog i guess it's because when you you're in a panic it's supposed to hunt you down so the game rather than teleport it it just gives it enough speed to get to you right away it might as well be a teleport like you saw how fast that thing was i was like oh my god but stop we made it and there's a save point so we need 400 yen you can't just get on the bus you need to find money yen randomly well that's iron yen need to get in some light right now so it's like a leeway it's like a little bit of a leeway there oh god never mind oh go away go away so there's money nearby you'll hear like a little clingy noise nope nope oh my god no don't think about it don't think about it don't think about some money around here money spongebob money we're going to panic we're going to defend ourselves soon i'd love to talk to my mom when i'm cooking because she listens to me while i smile when i with a smile when i cook hopefully this is not trapped there is in fact more random cars it is affecting car maze does not make sense these cars cannot even get here goes just like parallel parking these things everywhere i get my way no no no it's here scary scary what's it like a scary scream now yeah yeah she came after me god lure around it is extremely fast now like is it is determined it's like i'm gonna get that japanese student you're not escaping me oh thank god it's clear that's the world's longest trade we're leaving i'm almost there i'm almost there where's my home again i know it's around here shouldn't i don't know if she likes me anymore is this my home yep that's my home i'm home unless we're like moving pretty slow no one in here i have a feeling what the plot is already gonna be but like i think we're just about the end we'll confirm it or not uh but if you know anything about how some of these going home stories work and what they represent in uh eastern culture chinchilla mango in the kitchen is there to be a jump scare somewhere or something mom when aren't you coming back i feel lonely oh someone's at the front door stay there chinchilla i'm gonna call the uh go check the front hello or not oh wait no it could be our mom let's check totally quick hide i'm going on i'll protect us is bad hi no it's my room i look at the entrance and the door slowly opens mom is that you she approached me for puzzled look why what are you doing your arm you're hurt where you hold on i'll take care of you mom rushes out of the room i look down and see my bloody arm and a bed staying red i mom comes back into my room with a first aid bag she must have been in a hurry to get it because i see the contents of the bag she's doing all over the hallway huh i can't help but laugh a little did you do this to yourself why did you do this mama's stirring my arm and carefully tending to it never looking at me as i stared at her i could see her eyes were wandering did you have a bad day could it be that she kept her mouth shut after that and honed back it's your mother's fault isn't it i'm not sure what to say do you hate me now tears flowed from her eyes i wonder if i've received my mother cry before she's a strong mother who never shows her weaknesses the fact that such a strong mother was crying me my heartache i'm sorry i'm very sorry i pushed you this far i couldn't help but hug her we were crying to give her i love you reena your words were so warm and i know and that was all i could say at that moment that girl i wonder what she was trying to tell me she was feeling the same no she was shouldering something much heavier but i'm okay i can see that now what could i do now nice cat [Music] see [Music] [Music] [Applause] foreign [Music] oh [Music] my [Music] down [Music] my [Music] my [Music] me [Music] my [Music] so i guess that's it for a night way home at first i thought the story was more of because i think it was like something like in the summer or spring the uh you know the spirits of loved ones come to visit you or stuff like that so that's like a common cliche like someone who's going home is actually already like a ghost or something so i thought it could have been that and maybe it was something from the underworld kind of chasing us but it looks like more it was we were live it was all very literal and maybe this ghost was actually trying to help us in a weird indirect way trying to show us you know go home you know learn to appreciate life because something happened to me and i i never made it home and now i have regrets or something so the it kind of mended the relationship between the daughter and the mom and the very weird indirect ghost chases you kind of way now if i had to rate the game especially compared to gets ever chills art games uh this one it's pretty buggy pretty janky it's a little interesting that they would went for the um the third person and the ghost itself is actually very creepy as far as like its look and kind of animations and feel it just kind of feels like the game is like not balanced so it's it's very fast like everything the ghost is fast you're fast the the bars are fast as far as like emptying and filling so a lot of times it feels like a very weird lanky ghost pac-man so gameplay-wise if the ghost didn't have that kind of appearance and there would be almost no tension because you just kind of wear around circles i do like when chills are kind of breaks into trying to make a more gamey type of game i think it's a little more interesting sometimes that way but we lost a little bit of one of their better strengths which is their atmosphere just because like the speed is just so tuned up it's the same because like i said the the ghost itself is very creepy
