a new fave book, horror reads, organising pins & more | WEEKLY READING VLOG

hey guys so welcome to a new reading vlog this is the first non-daily reading vlog for october and it's the 8th of october it's a thursday i meant to start vlogging earlier this week and have it like you know a full weekly reading vlog but i swear like at the beginning of every week i'm just so busy and not doing anything that interesting like i'm not reading and stuff because i'm usually just like doing editing stuff and more behind the scenes stuff of youtube and also i like to coordinate my days off with callan and he usually has days off at the beginning of the week anyway so it's thursday i haven't really been doing much reading this week so i really want to get some reading done so since my horror vlog where i was reading three different horror books i'm still in the middle of two of those books so i'm still reading clown in a cornfield and bunny and i don't think i've made any progress actually i think i read one chapter of bunny since then but i'm really excited because i'm loving bunny so i definitely want to finish bunny at least and i want to finish clown in cornfields which i am liking but i'm not loving it as much as i thought i would so i am interested to see if the last 140 pages are really good because i've heard so many good things about this book and at the moment i'm just kind of like hurry up see someone even said that this party starts early and it does not stop like i don't know about that it just seems slow to me at the moment but anyway maybe that's just because i watch way too many horror movies and when it comes to slashes i'm just like so i am going to be pretty busy until sunday i originally was going to film a 24-hour readathon on saturday but i don't know anymore depending on if i do that or not i'll finish these books hopefully because if i film a 24-hour readathon i don't think i'll read these books in it anyway we'll see i'm also currently reading dracula and i'm listening to the audiobook for this and i'm on page 62 and at the moment i'm liking it thankfully the writing isn't too dense so most of the time i know what's going on and it's really interesting to see you know the origins of classic vampire myths and stuff and actually some people commented on my october tbr saying that there's another vampire book before dracula that was published and that is called carmilla or camilla and i definitely want to read that because also it apparently involves like a female female romance amazing and obviously a lot of people talk about dracula but not many people talk about carmilla so yeah definitely want to read that one but yeah this is cool so far and this edition is so cool i'm going to talk about it more in my book haul but some people are asking where i got it and i always have affiliate the rest of the day so i have spent most of the day editing i've actually been editing this one vlog for a while because i switched over to davinci resolve which is an editing software and there's actually a free version which is what i'm using and then you can get a paid version but it's definitely more advanced than imovie which is what i was using before so i've had to you know take some classes and stuff to learn it and just get used to it and stuff so it's taking me a while that's why i uploaded my horror reading vlog before my last bratz readathon vlog so i need to continue editing that today before i can start relaxing and reading so yeah i'm gonna do that and then i'm going to read bunny but before i get back into editing i wanted to quickly talk about some of the things that i found recently because i picked up some of my old stuff from my dad's house stuff from my childhood so i just wanted to share because i'm such a nostalgic person and i just love looking back on things that i was obsessed with so i have some books i forgot i had this edition of alice in wonderland and i've been obsessed with alice since i was little so this is really funny to me like what even is that drawing oh yeah this is such a cute edition and i'm so happy i have it again the iconic book the rainbow fish one of the best books of all time i found this copy of peter pan i was obsessed with peter pan oh my goodness look at this these were iconic books in my childhood i don't think i read them but i owned them i would always pretend to read books i was like not really a reader when i was little aquamarine this is the novelization of the movie one of my favorite movies so this is classic new york minutes these are some korean books from my childhood if you don't know i used to speak korean quite fluently when i was younger sadly i can't anymore i'm working on trying to get that back but i can read and write korean still so anyway these are really classic and i need to cover the top of this because i wrote my phone number and stuff but this was like my favorite book in kindergarten i would bring it to school like every day i was obsessed with it and i don't think i read it i just really liked the pictures i actually remember holding this book and having a nice essential crisis because when i was younger i used to always just like randomly stop and be like oh my gosh am i a real person am i gonna die like and i just remember for some reason this vivid memory of me holding this book and just being like in the playground like whoever of course we've got a mary kate and ashley book which i vividly remember oh my god it's like fully cut out that is so kind of scary why did i cup their faces out why did i highlight mary kate and then ever and i used to be obsessed with avatar which are basically these stickers and the koreans so every time mum would go to korea i would be like please can you bring me back some more avatar stickers so you could dress up characters with different items of clothing like the different stickers that you got and oh my god this is my everything like i have a big collection and i was just obsessed and i'm so happy i have them again because it's one of my favorite memories ever honestly okay so i'm at my desk now because i'm going to continue editing before i start reading and i want to talk about the sponsor of weirder and i love it definitely more intense like not as light funny it's more just like you know but yeah it's just so interesting and like i said in my first vlog where i read this this book definitely won't be for everyone because it's really weird and if you're not vibing with it like you're gonna hate it so thankfully i'm vibing with it and i'm just having the best time it's just so unique and these characters are just so interesting so i love it and i can't wait to read part three because it's the last part i feel like it's just going to be chaos and so weird and yeah so excited so hopefully you know maybe tomorrow i can finish this book up but i'm actually going to read a bit more of clarion and cornfield now [Music] [Music] okay hello so it is friday and last night i didn't read much of clown in a cornfield i got up to page 224 but it's definitely getting more interesting so i'm excited to finish it and i did make a bit more progress with my audiobook this morning so i'm on page 87 now still enjoying it like i'm not obsessed but it's definitely like super interesting so i'm happy that i'm liking it and yeah so today's plan i have some ambitious goals so let's see if i can do it but basically i want to i still need to finish editing my video so i'm going to finish that up i'm really finished now then i want to film some asmr videos and you may know i have my other channel asmr with chloe i haven't uploaded in a few months and one of my big goals is to get back into uploading regularly on that channel because i do love filming asmr videos and i just really want to get back into it so yeah i'm going to hopefully film a few asmr videos today i actually got some replica books from the show insticated not being the k drama that i'm obsessed with i bought like the picture books that are in that show and i got the package a few weeks ago and i've been meaning to film an asmr video because i want to unbox them on that channel so i'm so excited to see them in real life because they've just been sitting on my floor so i'm really excited to do that and then i want to film at least two journal videos and then later i want to try and finish bunny but then i'm also probably gonna watch a movie with callum tonight i don't know so yeah some ambitious goals i'm not gonna put too much pressure on myself in case i can't do it all because this is a classic problem that i have i have too many plans for the day and then i don't finish them and then i just feel bad so i need to stop doing that but it's also hard because i'm like i want to do all these things today anyway so let's see how am i back also mini hair update i tried to re-dye my hair and i used the manic panic dye because a lot of people recommended that and i don't know like i don't know at the moment it's like too dark to really see and there was blue all over the place like it took me so long to clean it up and i don't know if you can really see but my hands are still tinted blue and every time i touch my hair it gets blue and i just hate it and i did say that when you're washing out the dye like make sure that the water is clear and it was clear so i was like okay it should be good but every time i touch my hair it gets blue and i just hate it so i honestly think that my boyhood journey will come to an end soon because the hair color life just isn't for me like maybe if i went to a hair salon i'd be bothered because someone else can do it but it's just so expensive well i assume it'll be expensive because last time i got a hair quote it was expensive i don't know so i think i'm just gonna go back to black like fully black it probably looks fully black at the moment anyway because it honestly just makes me so stressed out when i have like all this blue like i hate not being able to touch my hair and just not have blue on my hands and i know that when i wash my hair next time it should be fine but anyway i was thinking of buying like you know just like a little hair extension that's a cool color and i could like put it there to just have a cool fun pop of color every now and then i wanted to have cool hair colors for so long but i just can't be bothered because it's such an effort so i'm gonna go start editing and get everything that i want to get done today okay i finished editing finally so i'm going to film my journal videos and i actually think i'm going to be listening to the audio book for clarinet cornfields so i'll just finish the book off on audio because i saw it's on script so i'm going to listen to that while i film my journal videos and hopefully i'll finish it okay so i finished filming my journal video and i filmed one ace in my video i wanted to film two but it's okay i can only film one and i'm starving so i need to start making dinner yeah so i am happy because i sort of achieved them actually i was going to say that i'm happy because i achieved a lot what i wanted to do today but i realized i haven't made any progress with bonnie and i said i was going to finish it today and i definitely won't because i need to start making dinner and after dinner kyle and i are gonna watch freaking the haunting of bligh manor oh my gosh i forgot that that was being released today like i literally have it in my calendar but when i was talking about my class today i was like oh we're gonna watch a movie but no we're of course gonna be watching the haunting of blind man like are you kidding i have been so excited for this show for so long because if you don't know i think it's like the companion sequel series to the haunting of hill house so it's by the same people who did that show but it's a completely different story and it's actually based on the turn of the screw which is a book i haven't read but i do want to read anyway so i'm so excited because the haunting of hill house is one of my absolute favorite shades of all time like everything about it just stunning sunny starting sunny stunning sunny it's just so good so i'm really really excited so yeah i don't think like i'll try to read a bit of bunny before khan comes home from work but i don't think much progress will be made because like i said i need to start making dinner as well i don't know but hopefully tomorrow i'll be able to finish bunny i don't think i'm going to do my 24 hour readathon tomorrow because i still need to film a patreon video that i want to get up asap so i want to film that and edit that tomorrow and then i'll do just reading for the rest of the day hopefully tomorrow so i will hopefully finish bunny tomorrow as well as some other books hopefully so i'll try to like do like a mini 24 hour readathon where i try to read it a lot tomorrow but it won't be like a 24-hour read-a-thon and i'll be in this vlog so but i do plan to do a 24-hour readathon later this month with caitlyn and jamie that will be really fun anyway i did finish clowning the cornfields and i liked it but i thought i was gonna be like obsessed with this but maybe it's just that i'm not into slasher books because i love a good slash a film like scream is like one of my favorite movies ever but it just wasn't the same reading it so i don't know if it was like the story well definitely part of it was the fact that it was slow to get into i feel but then also maybe like just reading a slash a book just doesn't hit the same for me personally so i don't know i do want to read some other social books eventually to see you know my vibe and how i feel and stuff like that but i just had really high hopes for this i thought it was going to be so fun and it was fun but you know like a low three stars fun you know what i mean so i don't know like i really thought this was gonna be at least a four stars and i thought i was gonna have like a really good time and like the twist was interesting but it was also like a little bit underwhelming i liked it but i really thought i was gonna be obsessed with this book so you know yeah like three stars and that's what it is so anyway i'm going to update my reading journal before i start making dinner and then haunting of fly mana time by the way my asmr unboxing went really well because those books were amazing and you should definitely check out my asmr channel if you want to see and i know asmr is not for everyone i used to think it was weird like i feel like just hearing what the concept is is like oh what the hell and some people when they watch it they're still like what the hell because not everyone gets tingles but i would encourage you to just give it a try because my life is 10 times actually not 10 times a million times better when they smile in it because i literally listen to asmr every night before i go to sleep and it just really helps me relax and soothe my anxiety and i just absolutely love love love it so and i don't even just watch it when i go to sleep like i literally just watch it throughout the day because it just helps me relax and sometimes you just want to listen to someone whisper instead of normally speak anyway so hello goodbye [Music] [Music] [Music] nice room oh yeah okay so it's the afternoon i had so many plans i even had originally planned to do a 24-hour refund today which i definitely couldn't have done because i've just been resting this morning i've not felt the best i'm scared i'm starting to get sick or something because i don't feel great anyway so i'm not gonna be doing heaps of reading like i planned to today i am going to try to finish bunny today but i think that will be my only reading goal achieved but i'm excited still i'm excited to finish it and see what part three entails i have started the first bit of part three but i'm just really excited to see where the story goes [Music] [Applause] okay so i finished bunny wow i love this so much so the ending it can definitely be interpreted in so many different ways and it doesn't really have like a clear explanation as to what was going on in the story which i just love but i know a lot of people won't like that so like i said multiple times this book definitely won't be for everyone basically when you're reading this book you kind of just have to be there for the ride and you're kind of just sucked into this weird world and it's amazing like i said a lot of things aren't fully clear but it's just so fun i was already looking up different people's interpretations and i just love that so much and i just thought it was so well written like and the atmosphere like it's just so good and it is classified as horror but it definitely is more like a horror comedy and you know it wasn't too scary it does have some gore and stuff like that but it's more just like a weird what the hell is going on kind of vibe but yeah i feel like there's a lot to discuss with this book and i just loved it 5 out of 5 stars amazing i'm so happy that caitlyn told me i should read this because it's so good and was so fun buddy reading it with her and jamie oh like honestly i think this is a new favorite book like i love it but like i said i don't recommend this to everyone you know if it sounds like it would be something that you would enjoy definitely give it a go but it's definitely one that could be like five stars with some and like one star for another person anyway i loved this so much and yeah so i actually think my next read is going to be katherine house by elizabeth thomas and this is actually supposed to be kind of similar to bunny i've heard that if i love bunny then i'm going to love catherine house so that makes me excited this is also set at university and it has the cult vibes once again and once again it's supposed to be really weird and not completely clear and i'm still in that mood so i think i'm going to move on to this and i'm really excited [Music] okay so it's sunday and i've read quite a bit of catherine house i'm on page 109 i'm listening to the audiobook and i like the audiobooks so i recommend to that route if you want to go that route why did i say route i usually say root so i don't know why i said that but anyway i'm really enjoying this so far it's definitely not too scary yet but it definitely has like the creepy cult vibes and it's just really interesting i think it really just sucks you into the story so i'm here for it and i can't wait to finish it but i think i am going to end the vlog now because on sundays khan and i just do a lot of house stuff so i don't know how much more ready i'll be doing so thank you so much for watching this video don't forget to
