A Helmet That Makes You A B-2 Bomber Pilot

in 2010 i was the 10 year old kid on the playground sitting down flying his radio controlled airplane wait i was 15. also it may be getting worse what's this and is this an airplane or a rocket i started by printing the plans there were so many pages but the layout is pretty straightforward each page is a small piece of a larger piece and you just cut out the parts and tape them together so here's me doing [Music] that [Music] the non-skippable parts are the main wing not sure what that is don't know that one either that's the k of airfoil so what's the father not putting that in kf4 airfoil is a step on top of the wing and a step on the bottom of the wing it's supposedly the same black magic as a traditional airfoil also these are the vertical stabilizers i forgot to record pretty much the entire build the carbon tubes were added here here here here here here and here you can see the wing it's now three layers meaning crash no break all around got the foam got the carbon tubes added servos [Music] hinges to the controls like that would make a difference what [Applause] added stabilizers [Music] of course we're gonna go with the black paint it also covers up the mistakes pretty well this is the video transmitter this is the camera all these are going on the plane so that i can watch this screen and feel like i'm in the army being a pilot but you know without the risk of i made a 3d printed hatch but it was just not gonna work [Music] so and now it was time to build a super duper advanced immersive goggle eliminator 3000 m i straight up forgot the camera i had to go all the way back but this is the field don't have much time to waste let's plug the battery in and fly it [Music] the face of sleep deprivation plane broke fpv screen broke and i got a boo boo i really wanted a hatch so i made one from foam instead using a counterweight really made it way easier to point the screen any direction i have a clear field of view for the plain line of sight but i can also just point up my head to the sky and watch the screen but the important thing is that the antennas always are directed towards the plane otherwise i won't have a good signal the antenna on the plane is right there i painted it black so now it's faster alright raider control b2 bomber first test with silly hat there is not enough vertical stabilization completely ripped out of the airplane the motor is gone no way gotta find that motor [Music] but it's all repairable it's all foam that's great i added the taller vertical stabilizers and just ditched the foam hatch okay we got way larger stabilizers hopefully that will keep it from not spinning out the way it did [Music] so it's flying [Music] i was this close to the good news are that everything stayed cool i don't mind a little overheating that's why i'm that's why i'm swapping to a much larger propeller it'll probably overheat but at the same time provide a lot more thrust and hopefully make it go way faster [Music] holy [Music] oh i forgot to i forgot to follow with my head and i almost lost the signal this is it's really sketchy to fly like this but at the same time but at the same time i do kind of like it oh my god i forgot to turn my head again all right here comes the landing i've been trying to find ways to measure the speed of like the rc airplane but i even had the problem with the electric surfboard i couldn't reliably measure the speed then i randomly stumbled across a video showing that the gopro hero 5 and above can measure the speed quite quite nicely so i'm strapping this on the plane [Music] did you see the vertical though man it was just like wait i know what you're saying where's the plane the beater bomber right there it's made not to be seen rewind the clip zoom in a little yeah i'm gonna do this flight all natural no screen i can't record it anyways because the gopro is strapped on my plane [Music] wow no problem and the gopro is still on there okay i got the app displaying the speed and everything it's a bit schizo with jumping all over the place shaking my trust for it but it's probably pretty close whatever number we're gonna see and i think this is it so let's see 50 60 66 miles an hour i gotta be honest i uh i was hoping for more can i withdraw my statement or what just straight up i've had so many issues with the projects that i've been working on lately it's insane this is some half-assed project i'm at this place that i really like that's where i dropped simon 2.0 the beach here it's just insane i've uh i've made a few videos here like driving on water okay just gonna take it up spin it around and not crash see if it works [Music] i don't think you could do a smoother landing than that [Music] [Music] oh oh it's just so majestic [Music] i'm going a bit too close on the landing there we go if it doesn't fit force it that's my philosophy okay i got the 360 camera on it see if we can get some good footage [Applause] oh my god i couldn't pull up oh wait i'm zoomed in it was almost like it was too heavy oh my god what carnage so that's the battery that i saw i thought that was the 360 camera the 360 camera is right there well it's not recording oh no well that's carnage and the last few moments after launch it rolled to the right because of torque roll so i have the left aileron up but the right aileron down to level it after it leveled this elevator is up but so is this one which means plane go up but plane goes down even before crash i keep pulling up but it's just like nope hey thanks for watching i'm on twitch
