good morning everyone Let's uh let's get this laid out for today I'm going to be working on repairs at the log yard and you guys are gonna do the flitches and get the lumber stickered and Mom you probably have like 10 000 things to do see you at the yard all right let's go [Music] thank you we're up at the log yard bright and early as usual and today we have this pile of glitches that we have to get done it's honestly not as much as it has been in previous weeks so it shouldn't take us that long I'm really missing the warm weather that we had when spring first rolled around it's in the 50s and honestly I could use another layer but I'm sure once we start moving with getting some of these switches done that I'll warm up because it's kind of a physical job running the edger anyways we have quite a combination of species today that we're going to be edging we have majority Hemlock I think uh but we also have some light oak and some soft maple oh and also Red Oak as well [Music] [Music] [Music] all right we are all done running the edger for today and we kind of have a lot going on here with all of the different piles as you could see Jade was stickering at this pile of one-inch White Oak as it was coming off of the edger because it's going into our solar Kiln and it's easier to pre-sticker it because of the limited space we have have available in the Solar Kiln it's kind of just hard to move around in there this pile is our Hemlock I'm pretty sure it's all just going out into inventory and then beside it there I don't know if you can see but that is more white oak and it's all the inch and an eighth which is what Storybook buys for their flooring and so that is going to go into an even separate pile into those Stacks that we make and it doesn't really need stickered but it's every 10 rows or every 10 Stacks High um you put stickers and that just kind of makes it stronger so that's going in that pile this is going out for inventory and this is going in the Solar cone so we have quite a bit left to go let's get to it [Music] before we get this stickered my grandfather is over there doing a repair on our timberwolf and I think we should go check it out hey Grandpa what are you up to over here I'm trying to replace this valve Bank on this control Bank on this uh splitter and it doesn't like the hoses don't like the new valve very well oh boy but we're gonna about get it I got two hoses to put on and uh I think I'll have it operating the other two valves it was a double valve Bank so I had to block off a couple of lines and just go into this single one but they sent me one of the wrong fittings here so I had to go buy one but as soon as I get this tightened up we'll try it out and see if it's going to work Judah should be up to uh run it so I guess we'll see you then or are you gonna run it before then I'll run it before then I'll uh I'll fire it up and make sure there's no leaks I need to get a pair of pliers twist that thing around two lines to put on and a couple but control and it should work well well thanks for sharing hopefully it'll do it now that we've heard from Grandpa about the repair that he was doing let's go hear from the boss about a different repair that happened this morning you talked about a repair that was happening on this machine when we were kind of just laying out the plan for the day what necessarily happened with it the air compressor failed on the on the machine I think we have 1300 hours on the firewood processor and the the chainsaw is air and hydraulic the stop which is the measuring system for the length of the firewood is air powered this unit here will retract when the saw comes down but it's air air in so if you bump it it it sort of acts as a bumper anyhow the compressor failed it would so the saw wouldn't go up and down it has to maintain like 80 psi and I was blowing fuses left and right I wasn't sure if I had an electrical problem but when the compressor failed I think we were you know the compressor was struggling to uh get get the pressure up so I haven't blown a fuse yet today I've done two cords uh once I replaced the compressor so I think we have it I hope so uh because it's very frustrating when you want to get out a lot of cords in one day and you're struggling along with electrical issues and and stuff like that but uh so far so good I'm going to run another cord and see how we do [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] having this many repairs in a week is actually pretty standard for us I don't always get the opportunity to show you guys just to everything and all those little things that need done and I also don't want to come off as like whining about all the repairs and stuff because it is a constant thing maintaining all of the Machinery we have at the log yard and there's constant breakdowns which like I said it's pretty normal but uh still I don't always get to convey over the video just how how much there actually is anyways after I deliver the score to firewood we are going to wrap it up for the week it's Friday so we're calling it quits after that anyways I hope that you guys enjoyed this video if you did it make sure you give it a thumbs up and subscribe to the channel if you haven't already but other than that I'll see you back here next time [Music]
