okay so I'm going to be tempting this seascape or beach scene today smaller picture solely because I want to get it done today seven by seven inches you all said on Facebook that you wanted to see me paint it so here goes now this is primed although only just MDF moisture-resistant MDF what I normally use or I use a lot of the reason it looks like this is because it's been sanded within a within an inch of its life good so I've got that nice and smooth ready to take a coat of paint and I'm going to start off by sketching out and get in the water line roughly in the right place the the sky I'm going to just do plain not worried about that for me the sky looks a little bit too busy and really I just want to for it to be more of a demonstration on doing the water rather than that sky so we're just going to keep that planed okay so I'm going to just get this blocked in as quickly as possible you [Music] [Music] you [Music] you [Music] you [Music] okay so that is the block in done now I'm going to go straight into the oil so this is dry and we finished it two minutes ago but it's now dry and go straight in with the oil and make it look like a decent painting that's the sky done keeping that nice and plain there's a lot going on in the landscape so I really don't need the busy sky that is in the photograph I don't think it's going to add to the picture tool okay let's get on with the interesting bit now you all right we are gonna resort to a ruler I think to get that water lining shine it freehand I wasn't working yeah using the ruler certain a lot easier I'm trying to do it freehand is it cheating who cares this is all this or simple stuff here very very easy where it's going to get difficult is obviously where you have this or froth on the tops of these of these waves here and probably here as well but there's a lot of detail and if it is not going to be super difficult I don't think let's carry on going just below the waterline there before we get to that froth and then what we'll do is we'll do the areas of water here and then you can see the sand under the water here and then we'll start putting the detailing in once we've got that done silence now get going on this bit it's fair amount of green in there the colors I'm mainly using are cobalt blue cerulean blue ivory black to say neom white and I've got phthalo green which is the yellow shade and I've got also SAP green and Salo blue they're the ones I'm using at the moment you [Music] you [Music] just moving on to different brushes if I can get the same effect but with less less effort it's not quite so time-consuming [Music] [Music] [Music] you okay starting to get there now I think we are so finished in that area there I'm going to get going on this area now this is going to be a little bit more difficult but not much let's get started on that there use some liquid don't get it nice and transparent now this area here is just a little lump this area here is just sort of sitting on top of the wave it's just before the wave breaks because there is a slightly different color but then we drop down here just it's or breaks here and you've got the phone there and then this is underneath that talk bit that's coming over the top are there well that's the way it looks anyway that's almost like curve there and that's when it gets a little bit lighter [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] you [Music] the tricky bit with doing this is trying to get these foam areas to look well to look like foam really it's not a it's not anything I normally paint so I'm kind of winging it a little bit but it's not looking too bad I've used a mixture of rigger brushes and a fan brush just to give us over a spotty much like a spotty look I'm just going to do it slightly off-white to begin with now this is neat tiny white here just what doing the highlights just with the tip of the rigger brush [Music]
