if you're using mid-journey to create print-on-demand designs then this video is going to show you multiple tips and tricks to optimize your workflow save a lot of time and get better results with your prompts so tip number one is related to the format of the aspect ratio of our Creations in mid Journey because by default as you know they come out as a square but what if you wanted to sell posters or maybe phone cases you know just something that is not a square format as you can see right here this is a different layout for the image and the way to achieve this is when you type in your prompt let's do cut wearing colorful hat you can actually add to the end of this space Dash Dash and then AR for aspect ratio and then we could do 10 by 14. that's what I've found works the best or is the closest to the displayed format you could use other formats as well here for example you could do the usual screen format if you wanted to create an image for a for a video you could do 16x9 as well and that were created in a completely different aspect ratio so that's definitely a good way to modify your prompt to include the medium that you're uploading to for Teacher design and stickers I think the normal Square format is definitely good but for other products you might want to play around with the aspect ratio settings the first number by the way is the width so in this case the width is smaller than the height in terms of the aspect ratio and here obviously the first number 16 is bigger so we go on to get a wider image than it is tall so as you can see here is the first result with the 10 by 14 very tall format or aspect ratio and here's the 16 by nine and just a quick tip here as well to add on to this once you've entered a prompt a quick way to copy it again or bring it up again is to just stay inside of this message bar the prom bar hit upwards arrow on your keyboard and then as you can see it brings it all back up and you can quickly make a change at the end of this rather than having to start from scratch with typing forward slash imagine and then pasting it with your keyboard shortcuts just upward Arrow does that entire job instantly and can save you a ton of time So speaking of saving time if you've used mid-journey for a little while you probably know that you often type in the same exact prompt quite regularly or maybe you're using the aspect ratio function and you you're sick of constantly having to type it back in well there's actually a quick trick on how to save time here so you can type in a forward slash prefer suffix as you can see already comes up right here and whatever you type into here is going to be added at the end of a prompt every single time so we could do something like sticker white background and we could do aspect ratio three by four for example hit enter and now whenever you type in Imagine and put for example raccoon wearing sunglasses now it is going to add as you can see right here the sticker aspect white background and the aspect ratio to the end of The Prompt as well saving a ton of time and making your life a lot easier if you want to modify your suffix so if if you're sick of doing stickers or that aspect ratio all you have to do is once again type in prefer suffix and change this so you could do t-shirt design Contour white background just to give you another example and as you can see the suffix has now been changed to this and if you want to get rid of it entirely you can just type in prefer suffix leave this blank hit enter and it will remove the entire suffix bringing you back to the default settings so this next tip is going to help you get better results with your prompt and actually emphasize certain elements of it so here we've got a tissue design prompt for a motorbike Sunset and it's in the synth wave style but let's say you want the motorbike to be the main part of the image and emphasized in that case you could add weights to The Prompt so the weight function the way it works is just go behind the word that you want to emphasize and then put two columns and then a number these are relative to each other for example if we put four right here and then behind the sunset we put colon colon one that has now got a ratio between the two and motorbike having the higher number will be emphasized so if I enter this prompt press upwards Arrow to bring that back up and then change these numbers around you're going to see a very different result whereas in this prompt the sunset should be the main focus and the motorbike will be very small or barely even visible and you can use different numbers right here like one and two you could also use negative numbers if you want something to be extremely disregarded but as you can see right here in the first example the motorbike is a very prevalent factor in this design it's very big and the sunset is very well small in the background not a big part of it here it's a bit bigger but obviously you're always going to get variations in the next example as you can see we've only got one of these with an actual motorbike the other ones actually turned into a car so in this case using the weight 4 actually made the sunset so heavy outweighing the motorbike graphic entirely so if you did want to Sunset with this smaller motorbike graphic then you might actually have to use one and two right here to potentially get a better result where you've got a Sunset and the motorbike is not big in your face next up we've got another really handy time saving tip and that is that you can actually use preset prompts and save them for later on so I'm going to show you an example here if I type in motorbike and then put a dash dash vintage at the end then I'm actually going to get a preset prompt that I've configured earlier to get a very specific result and the way to create these preset prompts is by typing in forward slash and then prefer option as you can see it says set right here and once you've opened this up you need to give it a name so in this box you want to put the name let's say we want to put sticker once you've configured the name just click out of it so click on this side right here and then hit value and this value box is going to be what is saved for the future use and always gets added to the end of your prompt so let's say for example die cut sticker Kawaii white background round but colorful as well you could put vibrant colors that's quite a fun one then once you're done with that hit enter as you can see custom option sticker is now set to this prompt next time you want to create a sticker of a certain animal or a fruit or whatever then you just have to use the Imagine prompt put yeah I don't know happy dancing pineapple and then you can put dash dash sticker hit enter and as you can see once again we've got a fully formed prompt and we've saved ourselves all this time entering the later half of this prompt you can set many different options with this method all you have to do each time is literally just put forward slash prefer option and then you can set it right here you can also change them in this way so if you chose one of these options right here like sticker you could once again change the value by typing in something else at the end right here entirely and when you then hit enter it's going to change that preset for you tip number five is another really cool way to create designs that could work well for print on demand products and that is first of all you type in forward slash and then settings hit enter and it's going to bring up the settings tab for Mid Journey so there's a lot of things right here that you can change one thing that I did want to show you is the niji mode I don't know if that's how you actually pronounce it but anyway if you select this right here at the top it is going to create designs that are in more of an anime style that actually could look really good on t-shirts and stickers that sort of stuff let's say for example we type in right here at the bottom imagine and dog wearing a karate outfit if you hit enter it's going to add dash dash niji at the end or 9g at the end of your prompt and going to generate that in its different style entirely which is really cool I'm just going to replace that prompt in there a couple of times so we get different variations and a better idea of what this style looks like and there we go else some of our prompts have been generated as you can see these look really cool and interesting and what I also like about this mode is that the background is often really easy to remove which is obviously something quite important for print on demand products unless you're selling on posters of that sort of stuff so yeah this niji mode definitely a fun thing to play around with and to get a different style of Graphics that are also very usable for print on demand now another really unique way to use mid-journey for print and demand which I don't think a lot of people know about is to create patterns and the way to do this is once again we need the Imagine prompt and let's say we type in pastel flower pattern right here and then at the end you have to type dash dash tile and then dash dash test now the tile function is going to be handy for creating a repeatable pattern afterwards I'm going to show you an example for that and the test part of this prompt is actually using a different version of mid-journey because the newest version of it does not have this tile or pattern functionality built in for some reason so make sure to always add this to the end if you do want to create pattern designs and then just hit enter so this is the result we got from that prompt and this doesn't look much like a pattern but essentially what I did was upscale version two right here or the second option this is the result if you actually click on this right click onto the image copy the image address and if you then head to to this website right here which I'm going to link in the description you can paste the image link into this tiling tester this is only a test to see what it looks like you can then sort of modify the tile width right here and as you can see this is a repeatable pattern you can even make it scroll which is quite fun at the bottom with these sliders but essentially this pattern you can create this quite easily in Photoshop copy or duplicate the same image next to one another and underneath one another and then you get this sort of pattern which is easily printed onto like a dress or a pillowcase or a fold cover there's loads and lots of ways to use these repeatable patterns in printer demand and to make money with it so definitely a cool little hidden feature right there in mid journey to create unique patterns and products speaking of Photoshop this next tip is going to help you with removing the background from your graphics and make that process a bit easier now you can also do this in photopia that also has the magic wand tool which is what we're going to be using for this so just select the magic wand and make sure contiguous is turned on and the tolerance is quite high and then if you click onto the background and hit select up here inverse and then add a layer mask in your layers panel and it is going to delete most of the background however oftentimes there is a few bits and pieces left over and the way to reveal these easily so we can erase them afterwards is to click onto the image in your layers panel or right click onto it then head to blending options and add a stroke to this right here you would want to change the color of it to something bright like red maybe blend mode has to be normal and if we turn the size up then or the opacity as well as you can see all of the little imperfections are revealed where the background wasn't removed fully so right here at the bottom very obvious we've got this line and we can now click into the mask and use the brush tool with a black color selected to erase these leftover pieces same at the top and now we can scan across the border right here to see if there's anything left I mean there is this little Gap at the bottom white left but usually you might have a few specks of color left around your graphic and the stroke effect does do a good job of highlighting those areas so you can easily erase them and just in case you're wondering how I created this graphic specifically I do have a separate tutorial on how to create some Patrick's Day themed T-shirt design graphics with mid Journey so make sure to check that out in case you missed it another quick trick that I want to show you is this prompt right here that says black solid silhouette outline of a rabbit and that's going to give you some of these more simple results you also want to add minimalism Vector contour and white background and then at the end of The Prompt notice the dash dash no function right here that's going to remove bits from your here from your results from your graphics so in this case reflection because sometimes if I scroll up a bit like these examples right here it actually adds quite a lot of reflection which we don't want so in this case right here that has been taken out what we can do with these sort of Graphics or mid-training results is we can right click onto them hit copy image and then we can paste this image into Adobe Illustrator and then here we can use the image Trace function to turn this into a vector and first of all it's going to have a white background so in order to change that open the image Trace panel up here and tick ignore white as you can see right now the background's been removed and then you can play around with the threshold slider right here to include more or less of your image in your vector file these other sliders right here quite useful as well to turn down the corners and make it a bit smoother same with the paths that can help get a nicer or neater result and Noise is also helpful to get rid of some dodgy bits and then once you're happy with it you can hit expand and actually use this silhouette on something like a vintage Sunset right here to create maybe something for Easter or someone who likes rabbits obviously use that for other animals for vehicles for maybe sports related Graphics to quickly create some vintage Sunset and last but not least this website called nightmare AI or replicate is really useful for upscaling your images because even if you use the beta upscaler in mid-journey it's still not really high quality so I know I've mentioned this side a few times but if you've missed those videos then the way to use it essentially is just drag and drop some of your AI images into here so let me use this one for an example and then you can configure the scale of which this size is going to be increased so let's make it five times as big as it is right now hit submit right here and it's only going to take a few seconds to increase the quality and make it look a lot better and smoother that way it's also going to print better in the end and not look too pixelated if you if you use a high setting right here for the scale it actually does a really good job I've tested it even against Photoshop and this free website actually performed better than the Photoshop upscaler and once again the link to this will be down below in the description so you can check it out and use it for yourself if you're looking to maximize your income with AI artwork then make sure to check out this video next where I give you multiple suggestions of where to sell it [Music]
